When I rolled out of my bed in the morning, my attention was immediately snagged by the object on my dresser. I gently picked it up and pulled it towards me and began to unwrap it. First, there was a deep, dark blue velvet bag that almost looked black. I pulled the gift out of the bag and there was another part that I had to unwrap. I unwrapped the large square of midnight blue velvet and gasped in amazement at what it revealed. It was a green faberge egg with crisscrossing gold lines that were inlaid with diamond.

How in the world did he get something like this? I quickly ran over to the door, while trying to be quiet. I shut and locked the door, then I returned to the bed and stared at the gift. Slowly, I reached out my trembling hand and picked up the egg again. After a moment of staring, I gently opened up the egg and gasped. There was a miniature painting of me inside, a note, and a tiny silver key.

The note said —
Hi Calli. I hope you like my gifts. The silver key opens something in your nightstand drawer. —K

I quickly opened my nightstand and saw a jeweled box inside. Seriously, where is he getting this stuff? After moving the faberge egg aside, I pulled the box out of the drawer and placed it on my lap. The box was covered in gold, and had large diamonds inlaid on the edges.

On each side there was two leaves made of gold, and in between them, an emerald. After staring at the box for a moment, I inserted the key into the tiny lock and turned it. Then, I opened the box and pulled out . . . another faberge egg. This one was blue with tiny silver vines covering it. The box was also lined with silver velvet. I opened the egg and pulled out another note, a tiny golden key, and an absolutely massive agape pearl.

I opened the newest note, and it said—
The golden key opens something under your bed. Don't worry, this is almost the end of your scavenger hunt. I wouldn't want you to be irritated with me. —K

I placed the egg in my lap back in it's box and jumped up. I crouched down and pulled another jeweled box out from under the bed, this one even more elaborate than the last. This box was made out of gold and covered in a variety of gemstones. I inserted the golden key into the box and then lifted the lid. The inside was covered in green velvet and there was an object wrapped in gold velvet sitting inside.

I pulled it out of the box and carefully unwrapped it. There was another faberge egg inside, but this one was more stunning than both of the others. It was a blue that almost looked like it was silver. And the outside was covered in diamonds and sapphires. Inside the egg there was another note and a red and orange egg.

The note said—
Please be careful with this egg, it has been waiting for you for a very long time.

your final stop is inside your closet. —K

I silently ran over to my closet and opened the door. Inside was a wooden chest that had a lock but was unlocked. I lifted the lid and inside, there was a small bronze key, a gold chain for a necklace, and a note.

The note said—
This chest is for you to put your gifts in. The key is so you can lock it, and the chain is to put your three keys on. —K

I placed the gifts back inside their faberge eggs, rewrapped the eggs that were originally wrapped in velvet, and put the eggs that were originally in boxes back into their boxes. I placed the first egg back in its's bag and then I then relocked the boxes and placed them in the chest with the other one.

I locked the chest with the bronze key and then I put all three keys on the chain before slipping it around my neck and tucking the necklace into my shirt. Then, I slid the wooden chest under my bed. Then I padded downstairs with a book to wait for the rest of my family to wake up.
