"Violet, I could see your thoughts when he came into the room. I think you know why you are making life wherever you go; even more so when your mate is around... What is it that you want that you aren't saying?"

Violet blushes.

"I already know the answer," I continue. "You just need to say it. If you say it in words, your magic might stop trying to show it with your actions."

She finally bursts out, "It's taken me hundreds of years to find a suitable mate to father my children. A child, Rogue, your child. I want that more than anything!"

"No." says Rogue, looking as though he has seen a ghost. "W-we aren't r-ready."

Her smile fades. "But... but then why Rogue, did you offer me your mating band? That's the whole reason for... "

Awkward!... I would really like to leave the room, now but it's my job to help them with this.

Violet starts sobbing.

Rogue looks shocked. "Violet, please stop crying. I-I've never seen you like this."

"Violet, wait, calm down. It's going to be okay." I send to her.

"No!" the whites of her eyes turn black.

"Rogue you've got to shadow cage her now!"

"Idiot!" He spits at me. "I will never threaten her!"

She lowers her head and shadow cages herself.

"That's not what I meant Violet." He says soothingly, placing his face against the shadow cage. "I mean, right now, we aren't going to be together. You are leaving to help Zeref. I couldn't bear for you to leave..."

"That's really what you meant?" She asks timidly, the shadow cage wavering. "We can make a family when I'm back then?"

"I'm just going to give you two a few minutes to talk about this." I say, and duck out of the room.

"Of course, Violet, I'm yours." I hear Rogue say through the door.

I take a deep breath. I wonder how long they'll be. I look for Mira. She will sympathize with my embarrassment, and act excited about the prospect of a baby. I laugh silently as I think of her reaction.

I run into her on the way. "Oh, Warren, you never asked for more plates..." She starts to explain.

"Mira, you aren't going to believe why Violet's life magic is out of control. It's because she wants a baby!"

"Aw, that's so sweet!" She says, getting a dreamy look in her eyes and clutching her hands together.

"Yeah, but the conversation in there was getting kind of awkward."

"Oh Warren, you are so silly. Imagine a professional like you getting flustered." She giggles and blushes at me.

Heh. I knew that would cheer me up.

"We might need something in a minute to see if talking it through was helpful, okay?"

"Sure, just let me know," she answers, on her way back already.

I decide to check on Violet and Rogue to see if they are done talking. Rogue has her all wrapped up in his arms and shadows, but they are silent. I knock on the door and walk in briskly. "Uh, now that we have discovered the reason for this, you should be able to control it. Shall we see?"

Violet turns toward me, wiping tears from her face. "Okay, I'll try."

"Okay Mira, bring a plate loaded with everything, and in case this does work... make it plenty."

Mira brings in a plate loaded with bread and butter, strawberries, two boiled eggs and a fish, with a glass of orange juice on the side.

"Yum," says Violet. "Thanks Mira!" She shoves the bread in her mouth and shakes my hand as she heads out the door.

"Well, she seems to have recovered quickly."

Rogue smiles wistfully. "Yeah, that's my Violet." He claps me on the shoulder. "You are a good friend. Thank you for helping us. And thank you too Mira," he adds with a smile. "That was perfect."

I can see why this works even though he is so much younger than her... He doesn't seem it.


Violet's POV:

I can eat whatever I want! I find Natsu sitting at a table and make my way over there to finish my plate.

"Natsu-nii, can I ask you one more favor?" I say, and switch to a whisper. "We don't really want Seb and Frosch to come home just yet."

"Ah, we already worked that out." He says. "Lucy volunteered to host a slumber party. And uh, one more thing, Master says for both of you to be back here at 5 again tomorrow."

"Again?" I sigh. I finish eating and tell Seb and Frosch to have fun at Lucy's. We head home as fast as the shadows can carry us.

I am exhausted from my emotional ordeal. Rogue notices and makes me as comfortable as possible, wrapping me in his arms and shadows again. "Am I really home with you Ryokun? It seems like a dream."

Ahem, we are newlyweds... if we didn't want the exceeds here tonight, we don't want you either. Time skip!

We start the next day preparing the place for Seb and Frosch, then start working on my life magic skills. Rogue distracts me in various ways to improve my concentration. I become quite adept at controlling my thoughts and concentrating the flow of magic. Before I know it, it is time to head for the guild again. "Master Makarov is a slave driver." I complain to Rogue, exaggerating how tired I am by flopping on him.

"You poor thing. Do you need your husband to carry you?"

I flip Rogue over to show how capable I still am. "That's what you get for teasing me."

"Oh is it Sensei? Let's go then." He grins at me mischievously, pinning me in place with shadows while he walks out the door.

A split second later and I am locked in his embrace. "You know your shadow drive speed drives me crazy."

"Ah, but it's time to go. You'll have to wait." He says, tapping me on the nose.

When we arrive at the guild hall it is uncharacteristically quiet. We head toward Master Makarov's usual table and suddenly everyone yells "Surprise!"

"I couldn't let you go without a wedding reception!" Says Lucy.

Gajeel turns on some music and announces that he is going to dance with the bride. Dancing is so much fun, partner after partner, my dear friends spending time with me. Finally, I am back in the arms of my favorite partner.

Master Makarov takes the microphone from Gajeel. "It is time for the wedding gift!"

Wedding gift? I didn't expect this...

Natsu leads us over to a table where there are four identical packages. I wonder what they are. "The whole guild pitched in," he says. "Seb, Frosch, you each get one too."

We all tear open our packages to unveil 4 cell phones. "I kinda figured it was time you had a new one." Says Natsu. "And with you going alone... Everyone's numbers are already programmed in. You can get in touch with each other, or any of us any time you need to."

"It's perfect, thank you!"

"And Zeref of course, after you get his number again."

"Oh! Thank you! Thank you everyone. This is great!"

"How is your control over life magic?" Erza asks me and Elfman and Mira bring out a huge strawberry cake, covered with about a hundred strawberries.

"Well, let's see." I say, concentrating on the strawberry on the very top. It starts sprouting vines, which twirl around the cake and white strawberry flowers start to bloom. The rest of the cake stands untouched. I give her a satisfied smile.

"You are supposed to cut the cake Violy." Says Natsu, handing me a knife. "I have no need for a knife," I say, glancing at Rogue. He springs into action, shadows darting faster than the eye can see, and and the cake is sliced and served, and he is standing next to me again, in the blink of an eye. I lean against him, satisfied that I was able to show off, not just my skills, but also my mate's. "There's one thing I still feel like I need to resolve." I kiss Rogue's cheek and go searching for Gray.

"You didn't dance with me." I say to him.

"Ah, well, you know, I wasn't sure..."

"It's okay. I just wanted to thank you. For being there for me when I needed you. You are a good man."

"I realized Rogue is right. I don't know you at all."

"You know the girl that I was long ago. Perhaps if we had met then... I wish you happiness," I say bowing to him.

"Yeah, you too."

I see Juvia shooting daggers at me. I rush over to her and give her a big happy hug. Her face softens to a look of confusion.

Rogue is waiting for me at the door. We head home to spend on night with Seb and Frosch. I drift off to sleep peacefully, a smile on my face. Our family united again, before I have to go.

Violet, Violet? That useless boy was supposed to bring you to me. Are you listening lovely? He only wanted you because I sent him. He has done his job well. Does he really want you? Meh heh heh! Why aren't you with child? He must not really want you, and now he is sending you away...

Wake up. I have to wake up! I shift and turn in my sleep.

I finally break free from sleep. Tears are falling from my eyes, and I am looking through a black haze. A cool shadow sweeps across my ear. "I am here." I clear my head quickly. He knows the key to my death magic. I have to stall for now, I'll keep him talking. "Who do you think I am?" I say. "I am wife of Rogue, Fairy Tail Wizard, daughter of Kaze. I am the Immortal Dragon. And I know you are wrong." Shadow wings lift me out of bed as I search the room for the intruder. "You know that I hold the power of life and death, so prepare to die!"

"Not so fast. Your kitty will die first."

Seb, is suddenly suspended by his tail in mid-air, apparently an invisible hand across his mouth.

A split second later and Rogue has Seb safely away. Shadow-drive speed. I think smiling to myself.

"Fire Dragon Roar!" "Holy Ray!"

Natsu adds: "Don't run you coward, come back here and fight!"

"Natsu! Sting! What are you doing here? How did you know?" Asks Rogue.

"I've been keeping an eye on you and I smelled something evil in this direction," Sting answers. "Natsu, did you smell it too?"

"MMmmm." Natsu confirms, nodding his head.

"But Natsu, isn't your place too far away?"

Lucy comes running. "Natsu, where did you go in such a hurry?"

"Ah, you were at Lucy's." Sting says and winks at Lucy.

"Never mind that," I cut in, noticing Lucy's face getting pink. "Obviously whoever was controlling Rogue is back."
