Chapter 9

Ally looked at the men in front of her, "So what am I then?"

"Well." The 10th Doctor began.

"No," Ally interrupted, "not this time." The 11th Doctor walked over to her and looked her in the eyes. He held her hands sympathetically, "I am human." She argued with a tear rolling down her cheek.

"But humans don't run off with strangers." he whispered. He wrapped his arms around her and hugged her tightly.

"What did you say your name was?" the 10th Doctor asked, breaking up their hug.

"Ally." she replied whilst sniffing.

"Surname?" Both of the Doctors stood back. They were looking at her oddly. It was only then that she realised how much older 'her' Doctor's eyes looked.

"Watson." she replied.

"But... John."

"I know."

"Mary?"

"No."

"Sherlock maybe?"

"You don't think?"

"No. Too obvious."

"Coincidence?"

"What do we say about coincidences?"

"The universe is rarely ever so lazy."

"So aliens?"

"Perhaps."

This was about the extent of the two Doctors conversation. Ally, who kept turning her head as if she was watching a tennis match, was trying to keep up with them.

"Are you suggesting that my dad's an alien?"

The 11th Doctor wandered around the empty room whilst the 10th Doctor attempted to explain the situation to Ally. Slowly, he made his way to a window. He pushed it gently but it was stuck.

"Locked." He muttered to himself. He reached into his pocket and pulled out his sonic screwdriver. He pointed it at the lock as the strange noise changed pitch. He spun it around in the air before placing it back into his pocket. He tried again and they were unlocked. He pushed them both open and leant out of the window. Daleks. The Doctor felt slightly disappointed.

"Wait," the Doctor said, turning away from the window, "John said that you were 1 month old. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you don't look like a baby."

"I'm 21!"

"And still look like you wouldn't hurt a fly." The 10th Doctor chipped in.

"Well, looks can be deceiving." Ally replied.

"I don't know about you," the Doctor said leaning against the wall, "but I think you're the reason Moriarty wants us alive."

"Then take me to him." Ally said bravely, "Hand me in. Because you said that he needs me, and he wouldn't hurt something that he needs." The 10th Doctor nodded.

"What's gotten into you two?" The Doctor shouted angrily, "Can you actually hear yourselves right now? Are you thinking straight?"

"To be honest," Ally said standing face to face with him, "I don't know."

A single tear rolled down her pink cheeks. She looked down and then back up at the man in front of her.

"Trust me." she whispered in his ear. He knew he could. He just didn't want to.
