Chapter Five: The Kingdom Of Creativity
Virgil's P.O.V.
Patton came to my room one time that night to give me my dinner and tell me goodnight. I didn't sleep very much that night, as there was just too much on my mind. Doctor woke me up the next morning at six to take the cast off. It made no sense to me, as he said it would take a whole day and yet it had only been a little over fourteen hours. Still, I was happy to have the cast off, because I needed to get myself cleaned up. I was still wearing the same dirty clothes as I was when me and Roman were attacked and cursed, and I was still covered in dirt and sweat.
"Go on back to sleep," Doctor said before he left. "But remember that you still must be careful with your leg and you need to keep it mobile." Then he disappeared, leaving me to doze off again.

I awoke once more, checking my phone to see the time. It was a little before eight in the morning. Cautiously, I clambered out of bed and onto my feet. I walked slowly and carefully to my bathroom, proceeding to shower and change my clothes.
Around eight fifteen there was a knock at my door. Expecting to see Patton, I opened the door without saying a word. Instead, Roman was standing in the doorway.
"Good morning, Virgil." he said. I waved, confused as to why he had come to see me at that time in the morning. Not wanting to speak, I made some words appear on the wall behind me, which Roman read aloud.
"So, do you need something from me? Or are you just gonna stand there silently?" Roman sighed heavily as the words disappeared.
"Well, yes, I believe that I do require something of you. May I come in?" Reluctantly, I stepped aside and opened the door farther, letting Roman into my room. He stepped inside and I shut the door behind him, then walked off to sit on my bed. I hummed a noise in an attempt to press him onwards.
"Virgil, I wanted to come here to apologize. These fights we've been having over the past few weeks, they're all my fault. I got angry at you, so naturally you got angry at me. I was rude to you so you were rude to me. I threatened you so you threatened me back. I understand now that these were all foolish mistakes on my part, though I don't understand why I ever did any of those things." He paused, leaving the sincerity of his statement to hang heavy in the air.
"Today we're going to have to work together to find the lair of the Dragon Witch. Before we start out, I want to tell you I am truly and deeply sorry." I wanted to say something to him, but words wouldn't even form. I couldn't bare to just freely let everyone hear me sing every single time I needed to speak. So, I snapped my fingers and a blank notebook and pen from my bookshelves flew onto my lap.
I scribbled the words I wanted to say on the first page, then showed it to Roman. Before looking at it, he gave me a look that seemed to be asking if he was supposed to read it. I nodded, gesturing to the words on the page.
"I accept your apology." Roman read aloud. I sat the notebook down again and scribbled some more on the page. The creative Side that had been standing in front of me then went to sit on the bed next to me.
"But I am also sorry." he choppily read as I wrote. "I could have done things differently. I was scared and I acted without thinking. I believe now we must set aside our obvious differences and work together to break the curse. What do you say, Roman?" He was silent, making me worried that he wouldn't be willing to work with me.
"Deal." he said, extending his hand to me with a smile. I gratefully took it and we shook hands lightly.
"Care to join me for breakfast in the Kingdom Of Creativity?" I nearly gasped, as it had been the first time in around fourteen years that he had invited me to his kingdom.
Before I am to continue on with the story, I must tell you this. Many years ago, when we were only twelve, me and Roman had a falling-out. Before then, we had been best friends. We would spend a large amount of our time together. But everything changed when Thomas's anxiety became worse. I refused to spend as much time with Roman as usual, and he became very busy. Soon, our growing differences led to us completely detaching from each other, leaving behind the friendship we once had.
Anyway, with excitement I nodded yes, fully agreeing to join him for breakfast in his kingdom. So once more Roman extended his hand to me, which I took again. I quickly grabbed the notebook and pen with my other hand as he teleported us to the Imagination.
Roman's P.O.V.
I teleported us to the gates of the inner wall, where we were joyously greeted by two guards.
"Prince Roman!" one of the guards shouted, who I recognized to be a man named Nicholas.
"It's been a while, what has kept you away?" the other guard, Landon, asked.
"Oh, well, I'm not quite sure what has kept me away. How have you two been? How's Lauren?" See, I only have a select few servants—though I don't even like calling them that, as it makes them sound lesser—and I know every one of them. I know every guard, every 'servant,' every citizen in this kingdom, and I value my relationship with each and every one of them dearly.
"Oh we're doing fine, and Mom's doing fine too." Landon said. Lauren is Landon's mother and Nicholas's wife, and she's also my best knight.
"So, Roman, are you by any chance going to mention the man behind you?" Nicholas asked. I had almost forgotten about Virgil.
"Oh, um.. right. This is Virgil, Thomas's anxiety. You may not even remember him, Landon. You were only about six the last time he was here." Nicholas seemed shocked, as if he was disappointed in himself for not noticing who Virgil was.
"V-Virgil Sanders," he stammered. "My, it's a pleasure to know your name. Even more so to have you here again." There was an awkward silence, and judging by the look on Virgil's face, he wanted desperately to say something.
"Forgive him, he is unable to speak." I said. "We will discuss this at breakfast, which I believe should be held in around five minutes." Nicholas nodded, signaling to Landon to open the gate. They pushed it open as we stepped inside the kingdom.
"Please, join us for breakfast." I said to Nicholas and Landon, who shut the gate and followed us.

When everyone was settled down around the dining hall's long table we began to eat. I always have every staff member join together at that table for every breakfast and dinner, as I know and believe they must eat properly.
About five minutes of silent eating passed before a soft voice called from a few seats away. I glanced up from my scrambled eggs and toast to see an old woman that I knew very well.
"How have you been, Roman?" The woman asked. Her name was Rossane, and she was Nicholas's mother. She was a powerful and trusted seer; not one of her predictions were wrong at all.
"I was doing just fine, Rossane, but some things have happened." I glanced over at Virgil.
"Virgil, is it alright if I tell everyone here what has happened?" He nodded reluctantly.
Virgil's P.O.V.
Roman then proceeded to tell everyone in the dining hall what happened the day before during our encounter with the Dragon Witch. He told it in a manner that made me think of Gaston from Beauty and the Beast, exaggerating some details just a bit to make him seem more heroic.
When he was done storytelling, I scribbled down a note in the notebook I brought with me. I tapped Roman on the shoulder to get his attention. When he turned to me, I handed the notebook to him under the table.
"We need to speak to Rossane alone," he read quietly. "Maybe a reading from her will help us. Either way I can't be in here with these people any longer." Roman sighed, then slowly stood from the table.
"It has been lovely to see all of you. Now, if you'll excuse us.." He walked over to Rossane and bent down to whisper something to her that I didn't hear. A few seconds later she stood and followed Roman, and I trailed close behind.
It had been fourteen years since I'd been inside that castle, and I somehow still knew my way around. We passed the kitchen, the armory, the library and a wide variety of other rooms. At last, we reached the top of the inner wall. I never did like going there; it was high enough to terrify me and low enough to have a view that just wasn't enough to distract me from the hight.
"Young man, give me your hand." Rossane said to me. I obeyed, dropping my things and holding out my hand to her, which she took quickly. She shut her eyes and relaxed her facial expression, focusing in on her thoughts.
