~I'd rather be heartless, than heartbroken~

Song of the Chapter: devil devil by Milck

I felt the need to burst out my anger. It was there and it had to be removed or sooner than later I will let it consume me. I clenched the dagger tighter in the crook of my palm, and hid in my sleeve before exiting the bedroom.

Hades was patiently leaning against the wall to my left, his face scrunched into a frown. He looked up suddenly, pitch black eyes immediately finding mine. But unfortunately for him, I broke the eye contact and instead moved for the nearby door. The devil instantly blocked my getaway, pushing his body like a plaque in order to prevent me from leaving.

"What have you done?" Hades raised his eyebrows examining me from every angle, like I was some sort of experimental guine pig that was there for his own purposes. He even sniffed the air like that has changed. I averted my pacing towards the window and took a look outside as the nightfall stretched into its full delightful bliss.

"Despite everyone telling me otherwise, I gave you a chance. You earned my trust when you saved my life." My whisper broke the surface, and I felt his cold breath on the base of neck. I didn't dare to look up at him even though his gaze was desperate for my attention.

Hades gave a few seconds to last as a pause before his mouth formed the next words.

"Why are you bleeding?" His intricate hand had an urge to lift my palm, exposing the wound that I've created myself.

"You knew." My voice cracked as I breathed the sharp words giving me a heartache. His hand wrapped tighter around my wrist as he turned me around.

"You have tried to remove my mark?" The way his tone flowed was cocky, dissolved with a high class arrogance. There was no sympathy in his eyes, no remorse.

"It didn't work. But I will try again, and again. I will get it off me even if that means I have to cut my hand off, don't you doubt me." I stared him down like the most vicious culprit out there. Hades was untrustworthy of anything. The devil did everything for the sake of his own.

"I would watch that." I slapped him across the face, hard. The red imprint was livid on his incredibly pale skin.

"You are selfish bastard, you made me sign up for a deal that wasn't even fair!" I yelled angrily as the Satan touched his burning cheek.

"Who said it was ever going to be fair? Life is unfair, something you should have discovered by now." Hades was fuming, I could tell. But I, I went insane. My whole system bursted with rage, it filled my core, my vision, it fully took over my lungs.

"How did she die?" I was trembling, my back was for his display as I gasped, sucking in air through my nostrils.

"Is this the moment where I should protect your delicate emotions?" His voice was manipulative. Hades wasn't just done, he wanted to torment me for longer. I ignored his stupid question and instead just stared at him.

"Selene crossed a river in my Kingdom. Lethe it's called, wipes every memory as well as your existence."

"I am kept in the darkness as people I hold close to my heart die. My mum, Jake, Gabriella almost died, and Megan and they're all in danger. All the damn time!" I felt breathless, my hands clawed at my throat feeling it clog up with bile.

"I brought them back." I shivered as his tongue escaped his lips and brushed against my cheekbone.

"Is this one of your games too?" I shut my eyes, his arms wrapped around my waist. Hades exhaled loudly bringing his chest directly against my back.

"My little sin, you need to understand. Not everyone is meant to be saved. I cannot save everyone. I am not a hero." I opened my eyes that were glossy with tears but they didn't drop, they were there just as a reminder that I still had emotions. I was still somewhat human.

"You got what you wanted, you won." I gloated staring at the full moon in the sky.

"For now." My hands ignited with moonlight. The light clouds flew at the Devil with so much power. He couldn't have seen it coming but he did.

I saw white and black, no other colour in between.

I don't know what happened next, maybe I was to consumed with this ballistic agony than realising how much more powerful the Devil was compared to me.

He easily dodged every ball that was thrown at him. I noticed the sable eyes which he possessed - his entire eyeballs were black, like ones of a pure sinister demon.

He threw a fog of pitch dark at me, it surrounded me almost touching. I blocked the attack, releasing the innocent white moonlight from every part of my body. It dispensed the darkness easily but it's contact warmed my skin.

I felt a hand touch my neck, I was pulled into a chest. Hades was cutting off any movement I've tried to create.

His lips hovered over mine, I opened my snow white stained eyes, staring right into his dark ones.
I felt immerse pain shot through my body, my power got drained like pipe. I began struggling against his lips my hands weakly punching at the broad shoulders but the action brought no use. My eyes lulled into the back my head, my knees buckled beneath me as I fell but was instantly supported by his arms. I felt his soft finger swipe across my bottom lip before his voice echoed in my ear, loud and clear.

"Hush, now. Sleep my little sin."

Meanwhile on Earth

Alec's POV

I was losing my mind.

Alexia has vanished into thin air, like she had never existed. I think I wasn't as scared currently as I was in my entire life.
I knew she was with Hades, Gabriella told me of that. But somehow I struggled to believe it. We had a plan. We had a former idea on how we could save her mother. Together. Not her sacrificing her powers and everything she had in order to complete the task.

Even Ambrogoi was going mad. I learned that he was unable to teleport to the Olympus because he wasn't a God. Ethan on the other hand, was not even around. I could only hope that he was there with her. But just the thoughts of that angered me to the every core. I wanted to break everything in my path. I was tired signing the same check for my furniture and wall recovery. The bill got higher and higher each day.

I placed the small scalpel back on its tray and crossed my arms over my chest sighing loudly.

"Are you alright?" Gabriella's little voice rang from the room next door. I turned my head watching as she entered the corridor with a small smile.

"I'm...I want her back." I sighed frustratedly, the eyes of sympathy again. That was the only look she was giving me for the last few days.

She embraced me tightly, I watched the green walls stare back, my dark eyebrows furrowed.

"She will return. I don't know when, but she will." I felt a slow exhale escape me. A little bit of weight was lifted from my shoulders and I glanced at the blonde girl.

"Let me check up on my mother." I spoke firmly and left her standing. My whole body trembled as I twisted the doorknob and appeared in the dungeon.

She was still cuffed to a wall just like she has been for the past week. My mind was racing for what to say to her. Her eyes were shut, because she was asleep in a hanging position. I haven't hurt her. I couldn't hurt her. But she has hurt me.

"Don't be so beaten about it. Holding your own mum in a cell is far from wrong." She snapped sarcastically lifting her dangling head to grin at me. I stuffed my hands into the sides of my pockets and simply gazed at her.

"By the way, my wrists are definitely not hurting." I flicked my eyes to the silver cuffs from which her hands were bleeding. It was natural that silver did that, kept us weak and vulnerable.

"Do you know where Alexia is?" She asked then and I remained silent. Mother assumed I didn't because I didn't respond; so she continued to ramble.

"I can tell you exactly where she is, and who with. If you let me go." I stayed calm under her eyes, as she moved her fingers around the silver chains that burned her skin.

"I saw a Cerberus. Do you know what that means?" I sighed and just looked to the ground. I didn't know why I was in here. Something in me was debating on what to do with her. I had no idea where my father was, or if he knew.

"Don't you worry, Devil and I go way back." She grinned full smile - for what reason, I couldn't tell.

"Then you know who exactly Cerberus is?" That's where she got me.

"Cerberus is a demon dog." I stated but mother only laughed hysterically.

"Cerberus has two identities. One belongs to a hellhound, and another to a human form."

"What are you saying?" My voice echoed into the walls. Her head dangled a little from the position she was standing in.

"I'm not saying anything. Not when he is in the room." She nudged her head forwards and I curled my palms into fists at the sight of Hades. I couldn't even smell his presence, but when I saw him it was like a letter revealed from an envelope. His scent was weirdly fresh - but not the good kind of fresh. It just hit my head like a truck - reminding me of everything. For reasons I could not name, memories began to resurface. Everything that was wiped off about Alexia broke through a barrier. One that I didn't know existed. Both of my identity, human and wolf emerged into one. They came to a final agreement - they both wanted one person. And, the Devil standing before me was the exact reason that person was not here.

"WHERE IS SHE!?" I shouted lunging at him. He disappeared before materialising across the room with an amused expression. Trying to harmfully punch Hades was like digging for his fear - I clawed at dead air whilst the black haired culprit just roared more with laughter.

Caleb thrashed into the dungeon his eyes full of terror. His gaze fell on me and Hades as I unsuccessfully attacked my opponent.

"Is that an actual Devil?!" Caleb's eyes went wide, but his smile was really not in the context of what was going down. He went into shock when Hades switched his gaze at him, still at the peak of his humour. Caleb rolled away the chair my mother has been sitting on into a different cell locking her away from this havoc.

"WHERE IS MY MATE?" Hades decided to shut up at this point. His wicked smile vanishing into thin air, a deep scowl pursing his face instead.

"Alexia is safe. But that is besides the point why I'm here. I need your help." The Devil moved, no he glided across the floor.

"Are you shuffling?" Caleb had the need to cut into the conversation as he appeared from the soundproof dungeon next door.

"No, but I can do a moon walk. Do you want to see it?" I growled loudly bringing their attention back to the topic.

"Show me her." I demanded but the Devil just clicked his tongue tapping his chin in a figurative manner. One that agitated me very much.

"I am getting to that part." Hades smirked knowing he had me exactly where he wanted.

"I need one of you to join me in Olympus. Alexia will need extra moral support and I don't have that kind of knowledge or skill." He informed crossing his arms over his chest. There was silence from his part as he darted the deadly eyes from me to Caleb, then from Caleb to me.

"I'm thinking, you." Hades pointed at my best friend. Caleb had his jaw stammered to the floor.

"You're not taking him, you're taking me." I roared stepping closer to the foggy persona. There was smoke coming up from behind him.

"You are known by some deities up there. This one here is nobody. Maybe if you lived a quieter life, I would consider it." He pointed at Caleb who looked offended but said nothing as he bowed to the ground.

"I don't care. Bring me to her. In fact, bring her home, to Earth, where she belongs." Hades was on the verge of laughing again. My eyes went a cursed red colour as he pressed on the soft spot.

"Believe me, she's already home." With that Hades swung his large hands around him, the level of smoke increased, it was now emerging from the floors too.

"HADES!" Ambrogoi suddenly rushed through the doors his eyes enlarged and fangs released.

Hades smiled as he pulled a hand in front of him. An invisible shield prevented Ambrogoi from getting any closer. It restrained me too, bringing me to my knees.

"Oh and by the way. Alexia knows about Selene." With that he moon walked through a dark cloud bringing Caleb with him.

"Cool." I heard my best friend breathe before he screeched loud and clear, as he disappeared into crusty air.

I panted heavily as my body trembled. I could only count on Caleb that Alexia was safe. I would never trust the Devil's words. None of them.

"What happened to Alexia's mother?" I gasped my head lowering to the floor. Ambrogoi has sunken to his knees his face covered with tears, but he didn't release any noise.

"Ambrogoi." I called for his name, my muscles constricting in pain.

"Selene sacrificed herself in order for Alexia to live. You'd remember it. That night in the forest when your wolf fully took over your control." Ambrogoi was grabbing at his hair in complete astonishment. His face went paler than a sheet of white paper.

"Something bad is bound to happen. Hades doesn't just speak for nothing, he doesn't just ask for help from individuals like us."
He realized biting onto his fingernails. My brain went frigid as Ambrogoi stood on his knees and helped me up also.

I took a few steps, shaking on the spot and falling against the wall which kept me supported.
I closed my eyes taking shallow breaths. I was too long away from my mate. I was getting weaker by day.

"What if Hades is afraid?"
