~Clever as the devil, and twice as pretty.~
"How are we going to do that?" Alec questioned standing right beside me. I brainstormed quickly until there was an idea.
"Let me try something." I took a step back and closed my eyes. I thought of the Devil. I imagined his features, the dark black hair with light piercing grey eyes. They were not silver because there was dullness in them; and that dullness was so similar to loneliness. His high cheekbones were perfectly defined, and the leather jacket added a nice contrast to the burgundy leather boots.
When I opened my eyes, the dark remained not bothered.
"Has it worked?" Alec muttered from the side and I momentarily shook my head.
"Hey we summon you! Come down from the underground. Mr Satan!" I yelled before disappointedly kicking the metal bars with my right foot.
"HEY!" I shouted as loud as I could but no one heard. I slumped to the floor in absolute defeat, then touched the side of my head. The helmet. I thoroughly debated on what to do next.
"You know maybe Lucifer is busy. Ordering around the dead souls and all." I furrow my brows sitting down to the floor and clenching my determined hands into fists. I don't even know why I want his help. Maybe because I couldn't call for Ethan. Or maybe I didn't want to.
"I don't know what to do." There was a hint of helpless concern that tingled in my hoarse voice.
"We can sit here call someone that likely cannot even hear us or we can form a better plan as to when they will take us out of the cell." Alec suggested with a exasperated sigh. I sat there for a moment before it dawned at all.
"That's it!" I jump to my feet looking down at the spot where Alec sat in the dark.
"Okay-" I give out a squeal that lasts for millisecond and then shove myself against the fence. We still had a chance of escaping the darn place.
"We have to..we have to speak of him!" I explain smoothing loose strands away from my forehead.
"What are you talking about?" Alec is right next to me now. I can't see him just the two red eyes that sparkle in the pitch black abyss.
"Speak of the devil and he shall appear." I conclude and wrap fingers around the two bars before taking a deep powerful inhale. It was supposed to make me feel less nervous but it did nothing.
"Hades." I begin tenderly.
"HADES!"
"If you are expecting a favour I am not the God to seek." A distinct male voice spoke slowly. I froze on the spot my breathing rapid. I couldn't see a thing, it was just Alec's and mine pants in addition to the loud footsteps that got closer and closer.
"So is that him?" Alec questioned into my ear quietly and I nodded head although he probably couldn't see me. Or maybe he did.
"We need your help." I broke the silence and the footsteps stopped.
"Did I not just say. I am not giving favours!" The pale grey eyes were pouring into mine. I flinched as the God of the Underworld emerged from thin air. Hades's face was ghostly white and the structured front was intimidating.
"We can make another deal." I suggest to which the devil raises his eyebrows and a looped smile makes its way onto his symmetrical face. The mischief could have been mistaken for curiosity.
"You cannot make a double deal, not before serving the first." Hades declared in a monotone voice that sent chills down my spine.
"You'll want to make another deal." I mumble with nonexistent confidence. Now was the probably the right time to curse my stupid self for even considering making a deal with the Satan.
"And why would I do that?" Amusement in the air was making it hard to breathe. Hades was full of surprises when it came down to him.
"I will give you something that you want." Just keep playing his game. That's how one lived.
"And what is it I want?"
"To know my parents." Suddenly the temperature dropped lower than it did before. My body started trembling with the need for warmth. It wasn't Hades that did it, it couldn't be. He was never this cold before.
"Ah. That is none of my concern. I do not care who they are." Hades replied with a careless attitude. But I knew better than to believe his comment. He did want to know. He admitted so himself.
"I tell you my parents names and you helps us out of here." I propose after which a brief silence followed.
"I am not interested."
"Five seconds to think."
"I told you I am not interested."
"Four." I deadpan.
"You'll have you try harder than that." Hades grumbled holding onto the bars with both hands.
"Three."
"Give up already."
"Two."
"One."
"FINE!" I fought back a smile as Hades let out a frustrated blow of air.
"And not because you offered, but because I accepted!" He yelled loudly pacing back.
"Is he always like that?" Alec quivered and I shrugged my shoulders.
"Appears so."
"I heard that!" The Greek God exclaimed and then a creaking sound rang through the room.
"I will teleport you to the underground." The Greek God expressed pulling the bars apart with a flick of his fingers. We both stepped through them.
"We need to get back to the pack." Alec spoke grabbing my wrist and pulling me to his side. I collided with his chest and fought back a shiver.
"You will give me information right where I want it." Hades demanded with what I thought was a cross look.
"Okay." I agreed, for the purposes of our freedom. Alec seemed unhappy with the idea. I was too, the last thing I wanted to do was go back to that skeleton nest.
"Give me your hand." I lifted my palm to him and Hades uncurled my fist to reveal the scar from the previous cut.
"It should heal fairly soon." I mumbled for the unknown reason, I think more to myself than to anyone else.
"The mark of Hades does not fade away." The devil chuckled rubbing the scar with his thumb. I pulled my hand away, holding it close to my chest.
Then out surroundings swarmed, the darkness began to fade and soon I saw the candles and the familiar stairs. We were in Hell.
"What the-" Alec shouted and then slumped to the ground. I gasped locating a dart bullet in his neck.
"Only asleep." Hades gloated proudly clicking his fingers as skeletons entered the halls and pulled Alec away.
"The werewolf can do damage in my Kingdom, you have to understand." He spoke smoothly not once making eye contact with me. His actions were weird to say the least. Wasn't he powerful enough to out the werewolf down himself? Or did he just not want extra ears to hear?
"And what about me? You're not afraid of me?" I demanded with a slight tremor of eagerness. I could put on a show if Hades made me angry. I think that's how my abilities worked.
"I'm not afraid of anything. I am certain I've told you this before." Only then he locked grey eyes with mine. It was a brief glance and then he waltzed away to fetch something. A second later he materialised with a glass in hand. The contents were yellow and to anyone it might have looked like whiskey but then for all I know maybe he drank urine.
"Now, inform me the names." I lifted my eyes to gaze into his.
"You wanted names I will give you the damn wanted names." I lean towards his face and look down at his calm neutral expression. My eyes trail his pale grey ones.
"John and Rachel Summer."
"I want names." Hades narrowed his eyes, my heart sank to the bottom of my leg.
"I gave you names." The comment agitated the Devil even more. The glass crumbled in his hand.
"Who are your parents Alexia!?" The Greek God screamed with demand. The broken glass fell to the floor never once piercing his skin.
"I told you the names, let me go." I swallowed harshly, my throat went try when Hades's expression changed.
"You think you outsmarted the devil? You'd think I almost saw joy on your face. I am always step ahead. Always." The grey eyed male laughed bitterly to himself. Lifting a hand in the air he rubbed his forehead as if what I just said was a complete terrible joke.
"Bring them in!"
The door creaked open, and in came the skeletons dragging with dirty brown ropes Sophie, Megan and Gabriella. On the other side of the room, skeletons brought a cage in which sat a very hungry looking dog. The difference between this and a normal dog was the fact that it had three heads.
"Which one of your friends should Cerberus eat first?" Hades smiled at me, his expression was so empty. It wasn't glad or the opposite, it was just - dead.
"I've told you the names, you didn't specify did you!?" I yelled as the skeletons unlocked the big metal lock. The metal bars popped open and the monster glided down to the floor staring at Hades in full submission.
"All you need is to say who, Alexia. Then no one gets hurt." The Greek God knew, I was bound to give in one way or another.
"Why do you even need to know that?!" I propelled with hatred spilling down my tongue.
"I'm growing impatient. Cerberus, have a snack." I quickly grabbed Hades by the arm pulling him back with wide eyes.
"NO WAIT!" I shrieked as Hades looked down at me surprised. He was cold, colder than snow. It was a moment of vulnerability which cost me a lot.
"Don't kill anyone please." I release his arm from my grip and find myself on the verge of tears. How many had to die!?
"Cerberus." Hades began and looked away from me just as the giant dog perked its three of pairs of ears.
There was a moment of dead silence before the devil turned his face back to me.
"Your affection for others will not get you far." Hades smirked twisting his broad back to me. I felt my heart drop, my feet static.
"Trick the devil, and he will triple the consequences. So here's your lesson number one." Hades whispered before clicking his fingers.
I plunged forwards but Hades kept me down, his strong arms pinning me to the floor.
I didn't have time to breathe as the black dog opened its jaws and swallowed Megan's head in one gulp.
Unknown POV
I watched the connection build between the two that made a deal. The devil never spoke of affection or helped anyone out. He was selfish and careless. Apparently not so much to Alexia.
Hades was taking sides.
I wonder what Gaia will think of this.
Not the best chapter (╯︵╰,) I know I will try to make the next one better.
