Chapter Thirteen

Dorian's ears piped up at the familiar voices of his friends, and he panicked, knowing their lives would soon be in danger if the raptors detected their scent and location. He has to act fast, but how? There's no way he can face five angry raptors who were thought to have been extinct around 66 million years ago. That was when he had an idea and knew something that could help him. Running through the dense forest leaves, he hears the raptors coming after him.

Meanwhile, when the group found the leader down on the ground, unconscious, they immediately knew what had happened. Dorian had smacked it with a stick. But as the raptor was slowly waking up, Raelynn grabbed another stick and whacked it hard, falling right back asleep. Knowing that raptors were dangerous, Rae knew exactly what Dorian was up to.

"Dorian!!" she yells.

Being far away, Dorian heard the voice of Rae yelling at him and knew he was in deep trouble. Distracting the raptors, he suddenly comes to a clearing of a lot of dinosaurs, and they have perked up and seen Dorian and the raptors. A triceratops came running after Dorian but dodged the big creature just in time for the triceratops horns to pierce one of the raptors. While a few other dinosaurs were charging at the raptors, Dorian quietly sneaked back off to find his friends.

Once he came to find his friends, Rae gave him a big ol' smack in the face.

"Ow," he whines.

"Next time, don't do anything stupid like that."

That was when Rae felt her babies kick in her stomach and tried to keep it hidden, but Dorian and Zion immediately could tell something was up with her. "Is everything okay, Raelynn?" they both ask simultaneously. "I'm good; thanks for asking." "Are you on your period?" Zion suddenly asks. Raelynn couldn't believe what he had said, as she was shocked that he would come to terms with this conversation.

She silently whispers in his ear that she is pregnant and to not tell anyone. That was when she immediately turned to Sabrina, and she shrugged since she didn't go into Raelynn's head. She was relieved that Sabrina didn't know, but it would be a shock for the rest of the group. Raelynn knew that she hadn't had her period in a few weeks and knew that she was pregnant and wasn't having morning sickness because of the time in the Viele Dimension. Her sickness was held off, and she only felt some faint kicks from her babies.

That was when Dorian could suddenly hear his mother's voice.

"Doooriaaannn!" His mother's voice echoes throughout his head.

"Who's there?" he asks out loud.

"Dorian, are you okay?" Alisha and Evie ask with concern.

"I'm okay."

"Dooorriaannn!" his mother's voice calls out for him. "Come back home with me! You belong here, and I miss you dearly. Your father doesn't love you and only wants you to stay there. He's holding you back."

Dorian couldn't tell if this was his mother talking or not, but it freaked him out.

"Don't be afraid. I'm here with you. Inside your head. You're my son, and I love you more than any other mother could ask for. Come back home."

Trying to shake the voice out of his head, the group knew something was off. That was when he suddenly transformed into a dinosaur, going slightly crazy and running off in a completely random area. The group chased after him as he stomped around, crushing trees to get this voice out of his head. He knew it wasn't his mother because his mother was not like this. She loved him dearly, though, but would never keep him from anyone. She didn't tell him about his father or why he abandoned them because she didn't know what Tyrant knew about his son.

"Dorriiann!" the voice eerily crawls back inside his head.

"Get out of my head! I know you are only a voice," he mentally tells the voice.

"I am your mother!" she suddenly screeches.

"No, you... are... noootttt!!!!!" he yells inside his head.

He eventually goes back into his human form, and the voice suddenly disappears. Dorian's head hung low between his legs as he knelt down on the ground, wanting to cry and go back home. But he knew he couldn't because of the dinosaur DNA in his body. If his mother knew about this, she would tell everyone, and everyone back in Aspen would think she was crazy. And he didn't want his mother to go to an asylum. Being in a place like that would hurt his mother a lot, and she wouldn't think clearly.

Because of Dorian's anger and being so entirely exhausted, he transformed back into his t-rex form when he suddenly saw Tyrant and his friends. He wanted to escape from them and just hide, but when he feels this weird hunger, he suddenly does something drastic that could change his whole life.
