Inside of a hidden military base in Atlas, two guards stood outside of a room, guarding whatever was inside at the top of a tower in the center of the base

Guard 1: Hey.

Guard 2: What?

Guard 1: You ever wonder why we're here?

Guard 2: It's one of life's great mysteries isn't it? Why are we here? I mean, are we the product of some cosmic coincidence? Or is there really a god watching everything? You know, with a plan for us and stuff. I don't know man, but it keeps me up at night.

Guard 1: ..........What?! I mean why are we out here? Guarding this door? What even is back there?

Guard 2: Oh....Uh..Yeah...

Guard 1: What was all that stuff about God?

Guard 2: Uh...Hm?

Guard 1: You wanna talk about it?

Guard 2: No.

Guard 1: You sure?

Guard 2: Yeah.

Guard 1: Seriously though, why are we here?

Guard 2: Well, we're here at elite Atlas military personal to guard sensitive information that could be used against us by our enemies.

Guard 1: Behind a single lock door in the middle of nowhere? Yeah. Obviously this isn't important enough to be put in an actual vault somewhere other than here.

Guard 2: Maybe it's a ruse. Maybe it is important and they're making the enemy think it's not important.

Guard 1: Dude. That's the most retarded thing I've ever heard.

Guard 2: Yeah well—

The guard was cut off by an invisible force throwing him into the wall repeatedly until he was knocked out. The other guard held up his gun shaking in fear while he scans the area for whoever or whatever just knocked out his friend

Guard 1: Sh-show yourself!

Something grabbed the guards gun and beat him with it and knocked him out cold on the floor. The figure of a male became visible and he drops the gun.

He picks up one of the guards and uses his hand to get past the scanner and he puts them back down on the floor and walks inside

The thing hiding inside of the room was revealed to be a data computer. But why only one?

The male took out a flash drive and inserted it into the computer and he began hacking into the system of the computer. A knight chess piece showed up on the screen and he hums slightly as the info that was inside of the computer came on the screen

???: I finally found you..

He transfers all of the data onto the flash drive and the alarm sounded alternating the whole base of an intruder. Turning around, he sees one of the guards had regained consciousness and was on his radio calling for help. The man picked up the flash drive from the computer and walked over to the man hissing like a snake while he pulls out a katana from his waist

Guard 2: W-wait! Please don't kill me!! Wait!! AAAAHH!!

The man thrusts his sword at the guard and he pulls it back but the guard was shocked that he wasn't dead and he sees that the man had stabbed his radio instead

???: Next time just stay down kid.

Soldiers filled the hallway blocking any way of escape for the mysterious man

???: I only came for information. I don't want any bloodshed.

One soldier rushed in front of the group and slammed two sticks together and they created a laser staff while another soldier went to his side and did the same, only he created two laser batons when he pulled his sticks apart

???: So be it..

The man held his katana backwards and rushed the two soldiers shouting as he ran closer and closer to them. They all began fighting close quarters with their weapons; the male only blocking their attacks and counterattacking with punches from his opposite hand

The man hits the soldier in the face with the handle of his katana and kicks him away from him while he and the other soldier continued fighting

Soldier: Why are you here?!

???: Information. Your army is building a death machine that will be used against them! It must be destroyed!

Soldier: It will protect us and our families from our enemies!

???: Your enemies will use it to destroy you and your families!

Another soldier sprinted in with his sword out ready to slice the man from behind but he could hear him running behind him and he knocks the guard he was fighting down to the floor and the man backflips over the soldier rushing toward him

A female voice shouted at the man to stop and he turns around to where it came from, seeing the group of soldiers make way for a woman with white hair and blue eyes. Winter Schnee

Winter: You. Thief. You will fight me instead.

???: I don't want to fight anyone!

Winter looks at the unconscious soldiers on the floor and then gives the male a cold look before taking out her sword

Winter: Lies.

???: Why must this world be full of violence too? Why can't I be left to rot in peace?

Winter: You will rot in peace in a cell here intruder. Who are you?

???: I have no name...I am but a shadow of the man I once was..

He looks at his hand and clenches it into a fist and looks back at Winter

???: I must repent for the sin that I had made so long ago! And nobody will get in my way! I must die by his hands!!

Winter and the intruder rush at each other and they trade sword strikes with one another. Winter trying to apprehend the man while he just tries to block her attacks

Winter: Who sent you! The White Fang?

??? I am alone in this war of mine. You cannot understand how important my mission is girl. For you don't even know what darkness lurks beyond the veil of this world.

Winter stops herself from attack, intrigued by the man's sayings

Winter: What are you getting at?

???: He is coming, the dark lord. And only one man can stop him.

Winter: Who?

???: The last remnant of the legacy of the Dark Knight. Only his kin have the power to defeat him. The power that has been lost to time in this world. Just as it has in so many others.

Winter: You're insane!

???: Millennia ago, a dark warrior from the underworld rose up to justice and protected this world from the darkness of the underworld. His name is lost to time, but his legacy is not.

Winter: And who exactly was this "dark warrior "?

???: His name...was—

The man then started screaming as electricity started to jolt out of him and he held his head in pain. Winter shielded herself as the man started to shake violently and to her horror, she watched as he started slamming his head onto the adjacent wall and cracks his helmet visor

???: EYAAAAAAHHH!!!

Something threw the man into the wall as he spasms which scares the soldiers half to death. He was then lifted to the ceiling and he fell to the floor panting

Winter: What's...happening to you?

The man holds his sword out in front of him stopping Winter from getting closer to him

???: I...I'm losing myself!! I WANNA GO HOME!!!

The man starts bouncing around the walls and ceiling slicing up everything in his path. He jumps over Winter and sprints down the hall with her chasing after him

Winter: Halt!!

She sees that he was heading for a window at the end of the hallway

Winter: Stop!! We're over ten stories up!

The man kept running but came to a stop when another bout of spasms assaulted his body causing him to fall down holding himself

???: GAAAAAAHH!!

Winter: This farce has gone on long enough. Let us help you. Whatever or whoever you're after will be found.

The man swipes away Winters hand and he kicks her in the chest and limps over to the window , smashing it open with one punch. Breathing heavily, the man looks back at Winter

???: I'm going to die very soon...but before I do I leave you with a message to spread: His dark bloodline is the key to salvation. They are the key to your survival.

He steps backwards towards the window and begins to falls

Winter: Wait!!

The man free falls down the tower with Winter shouting out to him

Winter: Who?! Who is the key to our salvation?!

The man lands on the ground creating a large impact crater where he was. He looks back up to Winter and raised a hand up to her. More soldiers ran out to capture the man but he sprints through the soldiers and high jumps over the walls of the base and runs away into the darkness of the night

Winter: He's not human...what is he?

Inside of a forest, the man sat at the base of a tree. He removes the glove on his hand. The skin on his hand was cracking and flakes of it began falling to the grass

???: I'm running out of time...

Standing himself up and holding his arm, the man walks deeper into the forest and looks back before he disappears
