High up Beacon Tower was Ozpin who was walking slowly towards his desk where a kettle of coffee sat in front of the screen which was playing the live broadcast of the tournament as Doctor Oobleck was speaking about who the next two competitors would be in the one on one match next in his usual fast pace way of speaking.

Dr. Oobleck: Alright! Now time to begin the randomization process for our next fight!

Prof. Port: It looks like our first contender is....Penny Polendina from Atlas! And her opponent will be...Pyrrha Nikos from Beacon!

Ozpin takes a sip of his coffee while he sat down in his chair staring intently at the screen while Penny and Pyrrha walked out onto the ring with the crowd cheering for them.

Penny:*salutes* Salutations Pyrrha Nikos! It's an honor to finally meet you.

While Penny greeted Pyrrha with a friendly tone and smile, Pyrrha said nothing as she was still in shock at her outburst towards Jaune earlier which resulted in her using her semblance to pin him to a wall in which she released him shortly after realizing what she had done and ran away from her friend.

She looks down at her hands while Penny kept talking to her

Penny: This is going to be so much fun~!

Back inside the custodial hallway, Ruby and Mercury stood there a few feet apart from one another with Ruby being confused as to how and why Mercury was there and standing no less after Yang had broke his leg.

Ruby: Mercury, what are you doing here..? You were hurt! Why-ah..Whats going on?

Mercury says nothing to Ruby but just looks at her with a smug smirk on his face that unsettles Ruby even more.

Ruby: Fine. If you're not going to tell me..

Ruby attempts to get past Mercury but he steps in her path, blocking her from moving forward.

Prof. Port: Fighters! Are you ready?

Penny nods and gets ready with a happy grin on her face while Pyrrha stood there looking stoic as the crowd, and her team, cheer her on while Jaune was watching intently before Doctor Oobleck shouted for them to begin.

Penny goes first with her starting with guiding her swords around her and launches them at Pyrrha who rushes towards her, dodging the sword flying at her while trying to close the distance between her and Penny. The swords stop in mid air and turn back around and fly toward Pyrrha from behind.

Mercury: Showtime~

Ruby tries to get past Mercury by using her Semblance but Mercury kicks her in the chest and sends her flying back across the hallway. Panicking, she pulls out her scroll but it was shot out of her hand by Mercury.

Mercury: Let's keep this "friends"~

Mercury rushes towards Ruby while Penny and Pyrrha fight it out their hardest outside in the ring with Penny using her numerous amounts of swords to defend and attack Pyrrha while Pyrrha was on the defensive.

Prof. Port: My word! What an amazing display by Ms. Polendina!

Pyrrha growls and lunges forward, jumping across Penny's swords and slams her spear down onto her but the swing was blocked by Penny using her swords as a shield before spinning around with her swords to get Pyrrha to move back from her. She then waits as Pyrrha uses her Semblance to equip her shield and the crowd goes in uproar for her.

Nora: Woooh! Goooooo Pyrrha!!!

Penny flies at Pyrrha and lands a heavy kicks on her before jumping away from her and uses her swords to disarm her. Pyrrha, a little overwhelmed, begins to use her semblance to require her weapon. What no one could know was that Emerald was intently watching the fight, using her Semblance on Pyrrha to make it appear as if Penny had an innumerable amount of swords behind her which scared Pyrrha into using her Semblance in a wide burst that sent the swords flying back but also locked Penny in place as the metal wires wrapped around her body.

Penny:*short gasp* Ah-!

Penny was torn to pieces by her own weapons as Pyrrha and the crowd looked at her sparking body in shock and horror

Prof. Port: Oh-!!

Ozpin stands up in shock at what he just witnessed while Penny laid there on the ground, seemingly dead with someone in Atlas who was watching the whole event and they grip the arm of their chair tightly.

Outside of Vale, Grimm sniff the air as they smell the fear and sadness coming from the kingdom and begin to make their way towards the city.

Ruby, who had just escaped Mercury, runs outside into a hallway where she spots Penny's dismembered body on the floor and falls to her knees in shock.

Ruby: Penny....

Tears began to fall from her eyes as the stadium begins to lower down. Mercury comes out of the door Ruby came out of and sees that his job was done and leaves Ruby to suffer.

Dr. Oobleck:*puts a finger to his ear* Broadcast! What are you doing?! Kill the feed!

Broadcast Assistant: Something's wrong! We can't shut the feed down! We don't have control of the cameras either!

Dr. Oobleck: What?! How is that possible?!

Suddenly, the broadcast was hijacked and the image of a queen chess piece was on the screen in dark red. A voice then spoke through every speaker of every device that was broadcasting the tournament.

This is not a tragedy. This was not an accident. This is what happens when you hand over your trust....your safety...your children..To men who claim to be our guardians.

On a building somewhere in Vale stood Cinder speaking into a scroll in her hand making her proclamation to the world.

Cinder: But are, in reality, nothing more than men. Our academies headmasters wield more power than most armies. And one was audacious enough to control both. They cling to this power in the name of peace. And yet what do we have here? One nations attempt at his synthetic army mercilessly torn apart by another star pupil.

Pyrrha looks at Penny with a hand covering her mouth as Cinder continued to monologue about the weakness of the kingdoms and how the headmasters of the academies have so much power and do nothing with it.

Cinder: What need would Atlas have for a solider disguised as a little girl? I don't think the Grimm can tell the difference.

Blake and Weiss look at the red screen in the noodle bar in shock while Cinder continues with her speech.

Cinder: And what, I ask you, is Ozpin teaching his students? First a dismemberment, now this? Huntsmen and Huntresses should carry themselves with honor and mercy. Yet I have witnessed neither.

Yang looks out of her dorms window in sadness after witnessing the events that just transpired on her scroll. She holds Dominic's ascot in her right hand tightly for comfort as Cinder continues speaking.

Cinder: Perhaps Ozpin felt as though defeating Atlas in the tournament would help the people forget his colossal failure to protect Vale when the Grimm invaded its streets. Or when that tower rose out of the ground and released Hell on Remnant. Or perhaps...this is his message to the tyrannical dictator that has occupied an unsuspecting kingdom with armed forces. Honestly? I haven't got a clue as to who is right or wrong. But I know that the existence of peace is fragile. And the leaders of our kingdoms conduct their business with iron gloves. Heh...They even employ the work of bounty hunters to do the dirty work they themselves wouldn't. How many times has this world been in danger and none of you have even the slightest clue who saved it. As someone who hails from Mistral, the situation there is equally...undesirable. Our kingdoms are at the brink of war. Yet we, the citizens, are left in the dark.

At the outskirts of Vale, two guards who were watching the broadcast were soon descended upon by a horde of Grimm that they begin shooting at wildly as they charge towards Vale.

Cinder: Now I ask you: When the first shot is fired, who do you think you can trust~?

The transmission ends, leaving the people in a state of panic and confusion.

Dr. Oobleck: The feed is jammed! We can't get a message out!

Prof. Port: Will someone tell me what in the world is happening?!

Sirens soon sound out as an automated voice comes over the intercoms in the colosseum telling everyone that a Grimm attack was imminent and that citizens needed to evacuate immediately.

General Ironwood barges into the booth where Oobleck and Port were in and grabs the microphone from the desk.

Ironwood: Ladies and gentleman. Please. There is no need for panic.

A loud booming laugh comes from above as the form of a man floats down onto the ring, stepping onto one of Penny's limbs underneath their boot. It was Bludgeon. And if he was there, it wouldn't be a good thing to stay there.

Bludgeon: I...Am Bludgeon! I...Have been here since the beginning! Since Humanity and Faunus were once equal. When you were all subservient to your true masters!

As Bludgeon speaks his piece, a Nevermore lands on top of the Colosseum and roars before pecking and scratching at the force field above the stadium which causes even more panic in the civilians present.

Sun:*stands* A Nevermore?!

Coco: How did it get past the kingdom's defense?

Ren: It wasn't alone...

Ozpin watching the early stages of the Grimm invasion from his tower doesn't hear Qrow or Glynda enter his office until his name is called.

Qrow: Oz!

Ozpin: Get to the city!

Qrow: But-!

Ozpin: NOW!

Qrow and Glynda rush out of the room as an army of Grimm make their way towards the city as the Nevermore continues to pound on the force field.

Ironwood suddenly gets a call from Ozpin and immediately answers it with a slightly scared tone of voice as he tries to explain Penny and why he brought her there to compete.

Ironwood: Ozpin! About the girl. I-I can explain!

Ozpin: You brought your army to my kingdom, James...Use it.

Nevermore and other flying Grimm begin to swarm the skies as they attack the airships hovering over the skies of Vale.

Inside one of the ships, an Atlas sergeant and his crew assess the situation to the rest of his men while telling the other airships to get into a defensive position but gets no response from one of the ships. As his voice comes on from a console in the nearby airship, it was shown that everyone in the command deck was knocked out and a pair of boots saunter by a group of unconscious soldiers as they carried a pink parasol in their hand while unlocking a door which opens to reveal Roman Torchwick inside of a cell with his fateful companion Neo there with his cane and hat in tow.

Roman: Well....It's about time.

Outside, the airship that was not responding to the sergeants calls turns towards the other two ships and opens fire on them. Destroying one and leaving it to fall out of the sky onto the one adjacent to it, destroying both airships easily. Roman let's out a laugh as a trio of aircraft ascent to a platform and open up to reveal the White Fang inside as well as a distinctive young man wearing black and red with a katana held in his left hand and slicked back red hair with a pair of black horns atop his head.

???: Bring them to their knees..

The aircraft then let out a payload of Ursai onto the helipad and they roar as the invasion from all fronts begun.

In Vale, Dante and Sapphire were stood in front of an electronics store watching the events of the tournament when Dante gets a call on his scroll and holds the device up to his ear.

Dante: Devil May Cry?

Dante grins as the voice on the other end of the phone was Ozpin who sounded both angry and upset about what was happening currently.

Ozpin: Dante. I have a mission for you and your team.

Dante: Ozpin...It's good to hear from you.

Ozpin: Now is not the time for games! I need you and your team to find whoever did this and put a stop to them! Can I...can Vale count on you again?

Dante: Well it's no demon tower, but we can handle it. Don't worry Oz, you won't even have to get your old butt out of that easy chair. Just leave this to the professionals.

Dante hangs up before Ozpin could get another word out as portals began opening up on every solid surface and demons began pouring out. Dante takes out his handguns while Sapphire stretches his arms around before the two of them go do what they do best: kill demons.

Back at the Colosseum, Bludgeon slowly raises his arms up as demons began appearing out of portals in and around the stadium.

Bludgeon: Let's welcome chaos to this world once again....

The colosseum was filled with screams as people began panicking as demons poured in from every direction, killing those who were close. Suddenly the sound of gunshots rung out as Lady, who was among the people in the audience, started shooting at the demons with a pistol that she had snuck in.

Lady: Everyone move to the shuttles! NOW!

She ducks under the pincers of an insect demon and grapples with it before shooting it through the head, killing it.

Bludgeon stands with his arms crossed watching in amusement as the people try to escape with their lives as more demons come out from multiple portals.

A woman trips and falls over herself and turns to see a demon standing over her ready to cut her down but it suddenly falls apart into a mess of blood and body parts on the ground.

Soon other demons and Grimm began to fall apart, being cut to pieces by something but Bludgeon smiles as he knew the someone who had the ability to do so and he hears a set of boots hitting the ground behind him.

Bludgeon: You showed up.

Dominic: How could one ignore a challenge such as this?

Bludgeon smiles and cracks his neck with a loud crunch.

Bludgeon: You damned brat..

Bludgeon draws his katana and gets into a kendo stance while Dominic goes to adjust his ascot but realizes that he forgot he gave it to Yang and just sits there for a second smiling to himself.

Bludgeon: Forgetting something??

Dominic: No. How could I forget a day like this?

Dominic takes his stance and the muffled sounds of scared civilians are heard as the wind blows a piece of Penny's clothing across the arena and flies up into the air.

Tensions between the two reach the breaking point and master and apprentice charge at each other and clash their swords with each other. Creating a shockwave that rocks the coliseum.
