The crowd was cheering for the first doubles match of the Vytal Tournament between Emerald and Mercury who were going against Coco and Yatsuhashi.

Velvet: Good luck you two!

The arena shifts into four separate biomes for the duos to fight in: A ruined city, rocky lake, and a forest filled with trees, and a field of tall dead grass.

Coco: Hey..

Coco tilts her sunglasses down and admires Emeralds clothing choices.

Coco: Nice clothes, kid.

Emerald. I'll try not to get blood on it~

Yatsuhashi stands up from his meditation and reaches for his massive bronze sword on his back.

Yatsuhashi: I can't promise you'll leave without a scratch.

Emerald: I won't be the one bleeding.

Coco: Oh, I like her!

Port: Three, two, one, begin!

Strangely, Emerald and Mercury don't attack and just back up into the tall grass which confuses Coco and Yatsuhashi a little but she just transforms her purse into its mini gun form and starts spraying bullets through the grass until it was all cut down.

Both Coco and Yatsuhashi were greatly confused as to where Emerald and Mercury had gone if they were not hiding in the grass.

Blake: Look out!

Blake shouts out a warning towards the two as Mercury comes flying in with a overhead kick. Yatsuhashi pushes Coco out of the way and blocks the kick using his massive sword and holds back the impact of the kick with just his strength alone.

Mercury jumps off of  Yatsuhashi's sword and runs around them as Coco tries to shoot Mercury.

Sun: Wow, he's good.

Scarlet: Yeah, but where's the girl?

While team SSSN questioned where Emerald was, Mercury was busy holding his own against Coco and Yatsuhashi with his fighting style that consisted of fast and powerful kicks to the body. He toys with the two by jumping back and forth between them and he almost makes Coco shoot Yatsuhashi in the gut from point blank range but she transforms her weapon back into a purse and swings it at Mercury who backflips away from her and kicks forward two shots of wind dust that Coco and Yatsuhashi deflect. In the time between them deflecting the dust, Mercury was break dancing on the ground while also using the wind dust to create a massive tornado around him. He then launches the volley of wind dust blasts at the two, blinding them in a cloud of dust and smoke.

Once the smoke clears, Mercury was in between the two and grabs onto their arms before hitting them with multiple kicks to the body. He knocks Coco away and smirks as a chain sickle wraps around her waist and pulls her into the forest biome.

Yatsuhashi: Coco!

While Coco was pulled into the forest, Mercury hits Yatsuhashi with a kick that does little to hurt him and he grabs Mercury by his throat and tosses him away over to the rocky water biome.

(Dude would make an excellent Titan in Destiny)

Yatsuhashi flies in, swinging his sword down at Mercury who blocks it with his feet. The impact of the hit causes all of the water to be blows away as well as cause the ground to curve inwards.

Mercury kicks Yatsuhashi off of him and the two battle one another; trading blows until Mercury starts using the environment with his attacks by kicking rocks at Yatsuhashi, dazing the giant. He then falls down onto one of the steam geysers and gets a face full of hot steam before standing up and getting a swift kick to the face.

Coco could be seen flying through the air until she hits a tree and lands on her hands and knees. She realizes her sunglasses had fallen and she searched for them but finds them on the ground broken. She then stands up and looks for Emerald through the tree line.

Coco: I take it back....I don't like her.

Immediately after she turns around, Coco bends backwards to dodge a bullet shot at her which then turns into her back flipping away from Emerald as she shoots Coco from atop a tree branch.

Landing on her feet, Coco pulls out her purse and it transforms into her mini gun and shoots at Emerald who jumps from tree to tree while shooting back at Coco who stops firing once Emerald disappears behind a tree.

Coco: Damn!

Yatsuhashi?: Coco!

Coco turns around and sees her teammate Yatsuhashi walking up to her

Coco: Watch out—she's in the trees!

A loud buzzer sounds out and Coco looks up at the screen above the arena where it shows Yatsuhashi being eliminated by Mercury and she immediately realizes that she wasn't talking to the real Yatsuhashi.

Prof. Port: Oh, and with that final blow, Yatsuhashi has been eliminated!

Coco: WHAT?!

She turns around to see that the Yatsuhashi she was talking to was gone and her hand shakes as she squeezes the trigger on her mini gun as she slowly creeps around in a circle to find Emerald.

Sadly, Emerald gets behind her and hits her with her weapon, sending her flying through the trees and landing right next to Yatsuhashi winning her and Mercury the match.

Dr. Oobleck: And with an amazing upset, Emerald and Mercury are victorious!

The crowd was in uproar with a mixture of cheers and boo's while Velvet looks down at her teammates sad that they had lost while her teammate Fox puts a comforting hand on her shoulder.

Inside of a beautiful garden at Beacon, Winter, Weiss, and Sapphire were sat down at a table enjoying a relaxing afternoon of tea.

Weiss: You're...leaving?

Winter: Yes. I was merely here to oversee the transport of additional units to Vale. Our last shipment was lost to an ambush.

Sapphire: I assume it's cargo was about a dozen battle mechs?

Winter: Precisely. It's fortunate those Paladins were still in the prototype stage. Otherwise your teams might not have fared so well.

Sapphire: That and Metal Gear Rex. What's happening to it anyways?

Winter: Dr. Emmerich is overseeing its decommissioning process personally to make sure any of its parts or its data could be used against us.

Sapphire: It's a shame. Otacon seemed like he enjoyed using that thing against Grimm. But I guess it's for the best.

Winter: It is. You've done well on your own here Weiss. You should be proud.

Sapphire: She's grown far from the pretentious little princess who would talk everyone down.

Weiss: Hey!

Sapphire: What? You were. Still are. But you're more tolerable now.

Weiss:*scoff* And you're a self righteous fool who shows so little emotion that people will mistake you for wallpaper.

Sapphire: Going for the throat I see. I taught you well.

Weiss: I can't wait to show father what other things I've learned from my time here.

Winter:*intrigued* Oh? And what do you think you've learned?

Weiss: What do you mean? I'm getting better and better with my glyphs. I've even started time dilation.

Sapphire: Dante can do that with a snap of his fingers.

Winter: Really? Odd. I remember reading his file saying that he had a different ability.

Sapphire: Right....Look Winter, I don't know how you'll react if you know the truth so I'll just tell you this much: Don't look into this. Either of them. The twins. They just want to be left alone.

Winter: You do know this only intrigues me more.

Sapphire: Winter...

He places a hand over hers and looks at her in the eyes. The tone of his voice along with the expression he was making sways her heart towards the other way and she reconsiders her thoughts.

Winter: Fine. Whatever it is, isn't important right now.

Sapphire:*smile* Thank you.

Winter: Now then, how is your summonings going along Weiss?

Weiss: I...you know I can't.

Winter: Don't be ridiculous. Every Schnee has the ability to summon. We have for generations.

Weiss: I've tried! It's just...it's the one thing I'm having trouble with.

Sapphire: She has been trying her best. Something's just blocking her from using that power. But I'm narrowing down what it is.

Winter: Hm..We Schnees are unique. Unlike many, our semblance is hereditary. But that doesn't mean that it will come easily. Your semblance is like a muscle, the more you practice with it, the stronger it it will become.

Winter shows off her prowess with her semblance by creating a glyph in her palm that shines a beautiful crystal blue glow which amazes Weiss.

Winter: But if you only focus on one aspect of it...If you fail to test the limits of what you think is possible...

Winters glyph explodes in a bright flash of light that blinds Weiss and when she opens her eyes, she sees a large white and blue Grimm Beowolf standing behind Winter that kneels its head down for her to pet.

Winter: Then you'll never truly grow.

Weiss' surprised look turns to one of adoration for her sister. One day she will become just as strong as her. Maybe even stronger.

Ruby: You'll never beat me, old man!!

Qrow: Heh, you're nothin' but talk, kid.

Yang: You can do it, Ruby!

Qrow and Ruby were in the middle of playing a fighting game against one another while Yang cheered  on her sister from the sidelines but it was in vain as Ruby was defeated by her uncle

TV: Soaring Ninja wins! Total annihilation!

Yang:*quietly* Ouch..

Qrow: By the way. Don't ever call me "old".

Yang: My turn!

Yang shoves Ruby out of the way and grabs the controller from the ground and begins playing against Qrow.

TV: New challenger approaches.

Qrow: Now, where was I?

Ruby pops up in between Yang and Qrow with a big smile on her face in excitement

Ruby: You were telling us about your last mission!

Qrow: Right, right.

Qrow begins to retell the events of his last mission to his nieces.

Qrow: I come across a small village in the swamps west of Mistral. Right off the bat, I knew something wasn't right.

Ruby: What were you doing there?

Qrow: I needed information. Tired from battling Grimm along the way, I decided to start my search at the town's inn. The place was crawling with low-lifes and thugs. Even a few Huntsmen I could only assume had been hired by some less than reputable people for less than respectable jobs. And that's when it happened..

Yang: What happened?

Qrow: I was defeated....by the mere sight....of the innkeepers skirt length!

Yang tosses a pillow at Qrow who catches it while she gives him the side eye over his story.

Yang: You are the worst!

Qrow and Ruby share a laugh over Yangs outburst.

Qrow: Best two out of three?

Ruby:*sits on the bed* So, Uncle Qrow, did you get in trouble with Ozpin~?

Qrow: Nah. Me and Oz go way back. We're cool.

Yang:*scoff* Cool for an old guy.

Qrow: Not funny.

Ruby: Hey, so, what are you doing here anyways? I thought dad said you'd be away on a mission for, like...Ever.

Qrow:*playing the game* Well, a professional Huntsman like myself is expected to get results, as soon as possible.

Ruby: Yeah, I get that. We're pretty much pros, too.

Qrow: Oh really?

Yang: Pssh, yeah! Read the news sometime! We totally saved Vale while you were gone. Twice.

Ruby: Well...it was more like we tagged along with Dante.

Qrow: And I heard that Vale suffered a Grimm attack after you almost managed to stop a train. And that whole tower thing, you got proof?

Qrow wins again at the video game and Yang huffs and smacks the ground lightly in frustration.

Qrow: But they don't give out medals for "almost".

Ruby: They do, and they're called "silver"!

Yang: Well we helped take down Roman Torchwick. He's locked up in Ironwoods ship and crime's been down ever since. That's basically a bounty mission.

Qrow: Sure, you may be acting like Huntress, but you're not thinking like one. You really think four girls and their friends could end all crime in a Kingdom?

Ruby:*taps her fingertips together* I mean, I did until you said that.

Qrow: Violence hasn't dropped since Roman got nabbed. It stopped. Completely. No White Fang activity anywhere around the city. You cut off the head of a King Taijitu, but now the second head's calling the shots.

Qrow adjusts himself and his tone turns to one of a more lowered and angered one once he mentions Ironwood.

Qrow: Thats what Ironwood can't get through that thick, metal head of his.

Yang: You...know the General?

Qrow: Hey, I know everybody to some extent. Remember, you're talking to a member of the coolest team to ever graduate Beacon!

Qrow reaches behind him and pulls out an old photo of him during his time at Beacon with his team which consists of himself, Taiyang, Raven, and Summer which Yang looks at in shock at seeing a picture of her mother.

Qrow:*sigh* Team STRQ (Stark). That's when I met your parents. We were pretty well known back in the day.

Ruby: Well known for crummy fashion sense~

Qrow: Hey, we looked good! And I have a number of inappropriate stories that'll back that up. But-!

Qrow brings the picture back and puts it away in his pocket, knocking Yang out of her trance.

Qrow: I'll save those for when you're older.

Ruby: Ew, gross!

Qrow:*stands* Anyway, I'm too old to be hanging around with a bunch of kids.

Dominic:*in the distance* God dammit, Dante!!

Ruby: Uh oh.

Yang: Here they go again...

The dreaded argument of the twins reaches the open door of team RWBY's dorm where the two brothers argue about something while the Rose/Branwen family watch it happen.

Dominic: I can't believe you! You said you weren't gonna use it during training. And what do you do? You use it!

Dante: Well it's not my fault that Royal Guard wins everything!

Dominic: And stop saying that! It's not true!!

Dante: You're just mad that I beat you again.

Dominic: Because you use that cheap move all the time!

Dante: No...It's because I'm better~

Dominic: Why you-!!

Dominic grabs Dante by his shirt collar and brings his fist back to punch him and he would have done so if not for Yang clearing her throat to grab his attention and seeing her disapproving glare that causes him to let go of Dante.

Dominic: Whatever.

Dante: Ha ha. What? You need your girlfriend to rein you in~?

Dominic: ........

Dominic elbows Dante in the chest, knocking the wind out of him.

Dominic: So, what are you three doing?

Qrow: Leaving. See ya girls.

Qrow moves over to the doorway but stops and sighs before turning around to face his nieces.

Qrow: Look. Just remember you've got a long way to go. And don't think for a second that graduating means that you're done. Every day out there is worth a week in this place. You two, you're gonna go far. But only if you keep learning. If you never stop moving forward.

Qrow then turns to the twins and points a finger at Dominic's chest.

Qrow: And you two, you still confuse me. Don't know why you're here. Don't know what you are. But you seem like good kids.

Qrow pats Dominic on the shoulder and leaves the room.

Yang; Hey, Dom! Think you can beat me?

Dominic: No, I don't play video games.

Ruby: Oh, what?! You scared of being beaten by a girl or something~?

Dominic: .....Ya know, the funny thing is, I know you're playin' me....but it's working. I'm in!

Dominic teleports right next to Yang on the floor and picks up the controller and they start the game.

Dante:*leans against the wall* So, we making this little thing a wager? He wins, you give him something, you win, he gives you something?

Dominic: Dante they literally don't have anything I want.

Ruby: I have the Yamato.

Ruby holds up the Yamato in her hands with a happy smile on her face as she inspects the blade.

Dominic: Wha-?! How do you keep stealing that?!

Yang: Uncle Qrow taught us a lot of stuff. Slight of hand was one of 'em.

Dominic:*scoff* You're lucky I like you girls.

Dante: Oh stop the tough guy act, gruesome.

Ruby: Yeah, gruesome!

Dominic:*long sigh* I wouldn't have crawled out the womb if I knew life was gonna be like this.

Weiss creates a glyph on the floor and struggles to keep her focus while Winter praises her sister.

Winter: Excellent form!

Sapphire: Come on, Weiss! You got this!

Winter: Now think to your fallen foes! The ones that force you to push yourself past who you were to the ones you are now.

The glyph begins to flash and it starts to fizzle away as Weiss starts to lose her grip on her powers.

Winter: Think of them, and watch as they come to your side.

Sapphire: Focus Weiss.

She grits her teeth as the glyph spins around on the floor faster and faster but it shrinks to its original size and she stomps her foot in frustration.

Weiss: I can't!

Sapphire: Come on, Weiss! If Dante can do this, then so can you!

Winter: Stop-! What? What did you say?

Sapphire: Shhit. Look, it's nothing. Let's just...focus on Weiss right now.

Winter: No! What do you mean by "If Dante can do this, then so can you"?

Sapphire:*sighs* Me and my big mouth...Look, the twins, they can do things that other people can't. Some things even I can't do.

Winter: Like what?

Sapphire: I already said too much.

Winter: Sapphire I order you to tell me what you know!

Sapphire: I'm not under your command anymore Winter! And even if I was, I wouldn't! That'd be betraying their trust. They're my friends.

Winter: You don't make friends...

Sapphire: Well I do. So just drop it, okay?

Winter narrows her eyes at Sapphire's reluctancy to tell her the truth but she knows that he won't tell her anything.

Winter:*sigh* Very well. You're..different from the last time we met.

Sapphire: People change Winter. Sometimes for the better. Others for worse.

Sapphire sighs and looks at Weiss who was watching her boyfriend and sister argue but was glad that it didn't escalate further.

Sapphire: I've intruded on your quality time together enough. See ya.

Weiss: W-wait! Sapphire!

Sapphire: Keep trying, Weiss. Eventually you'll get the hang of your semblance. I have faith.

Sapphire leaves the two sisters alone as Weiss watches him disappear around the corner and once she feels Winters hand touch her shoulder she pushes it away.

Winter: Weiss?

Weiss: You just don't get it, do you?

Winter: What?

Weiss: You don't get him and you most certainly don't get me. You say you've been through what I'm going through right now but the truth is, you haven't. I'm my own person with my own destiny. The Schnee name means a lot to me but it doesn't mean everything. Father may have cut me off from our money and his heart but that doesn't mean you get to cut off yours. Especially not from others.

Winter: Where is this coming from?

Weiss: I'm just...frustrated! With you! With..everything that's been happening since I've come to Beacon. I thought that I would train to become a Huntress. To become something more than the heiress of the company. But now...now I don't know what I've become.

Winter: Weiss....

Winter gave her younger sister a warm hug. Her words broke through the barrier Winter had built over the years of being in Ironwoods service and now she's showing Weiss the care she should be showing her as an elder sibling.

Winter: I know it's been hard. To be frank, I'm sorry I wasn't here sooner. But I'm here now. With what little time we have left, I want to know everything you've done at your stay here.

Weiss looks up at Winter who was smiling at her and she returns it with one of her own.

Weiss walks through the courtyard of Beacon at night and looks overhead as Winters airship flies by and she waves at it happily. Her scroll then begins to ring in her pocket and she picks it up and sees the number of her father on the screen and she takes in a short breath before ignoring the call and looking back with a smile to the future ahead of her.

In the sky, a star shines brightly in the sky and she looks up at it with a smile that shines brightly as it was and she turns around to leave back to Beacon.

Once in the hallway towards her dorm, she spots the twins talking with Sapphire.

Dante: So I'm thinking, we huddle together all the cash we make from our jobs and we rebuild my shop. Then we could move all the stuff that'll probably get us arrested over there.

Dominic: That would be nice but here's the thing, you have a tendency to blow everything up on our jobs, costing us thousands of lien.

Sapphire: Not to mention your addiction to pizza.

Dante: Well we all have to make sacrifices.

Sapphire/Dominic: "We"?

Weiss: Ahem..

The boys look over at Weiss who was strangely happily smiling at them

Dante: Oh..hey Weiss.

Weiss: Hello, Dante. Dominic. Sapphire.

Sapphire: I take it your time with Winter was well spent after I left?

Weiss: It was. We...shared stories of our adventures.

Dominic: You didn't—

Weiss: Your secret is safe with me. As far as she's concerned, you're just weird boys.

Dominic: That's fair.

Dante: We'll get out of your hair.

Weiss: Wait! I wanted to ask you something.

Sapphire: Oh?

Weiss: Can you teach me how to use my glyphs better?

Sapphire: Is this about what I said before?

Weiss: No. I want to learn how to become who I really am. And it starts with learning how to use my semblance to its full extent.

Sapphire: You sure you don't want just them to teach you?

Weiss: No. I want you..and Dominic.

Dante: Why not me?

Weiss: Dante you don't even know what you really are. I'd like the people who have some semblance of what they are teach me what they know.

Dominic: But we're not Schnees.

Weiss: Yes. And I wasn't a devil huntress before I met any of you. Now look at me.

Dante: Ehhh..

Weiss: Hey! I was there in that tower too! I even rode on your scaly back!

Sapphire: I'm sorry, you what?

Dante: Ooh, right. You see, when you were "elsewhere", I sort of had them ride on my body while I ran through the tower in my devil form.

Sapphire: Hm. Is that right?

Dante: Yeah. I didn't do anything weird, honest.

Sapphire:*pats Dante's back* Mhm..

Sapphire turns around and leaves the three to go back to his dorm.

Dominic: Well it looks like you're in trouble.

Dante: Oh shove it, gruesome.

Dante bumps past Dominic before walking down the hallway

Weiss: Well? What do you say?

Dominic: Sapphire will agree to anything you ask. Me on the other hand, I want to see your worth as a warrior.

Weiss: You want me to go on some right of passage just to get you to teach me?

Dominic: In a way.

Weiss: It doesn't involve fighting you, right?

Dominic: No. I will be observing your duos match with Yang. But there's a catch...

Weiss: That is?

Dominic: Yang doesn't get taken out of the match. Got it?

Weiss: Oh..

A smirk grows on the heiress's face as she realizes what Dominic was asking her to do.

Dominic: What's with the look?

Weiss: Oh, nothing. Goodnight. And don't worry, I'll keep your precious Yang safe~

Dominic: Thank y-wait! No! I-It's not like that! It's just a challenge to test your..your teamwork skills and...

Weiss:*sigh* Wouldn't it be easier to just ask her out?

Dominic: I....

Weiss: Do you want me to do it for you?

Dominic: No! No no no no no no!

Wondering what was taking Weiss so long, Yang peeks her eye out of the crack in the door and eavesdrops on the conversation Weiss and Dominic were having.

Weiss: Why not? It's obvious you have feelings for one another. Are you scared she'll say no?

Dominic: It's not that.

Weiss: Then what is it?

Dominic: I....don't want to lose her. I'm not..strong enough to keep her safe.

Weiss: So that's why. You think you're not powerful enough to keep her safe. Dominic she can take care of herself.

Dominic: Yes. From White Fang and Grimm. But the things I fear that will take her away are the same ones who took away my mother. I can't...I can't lose her like I lost my mother.

Yang looks down and thinks back on what Dominic just said. He felt weak. Even after everything he went through to get this powerful, it wasn't enough in his eyes.

Weiss: You shouldn't let the past block your progress towards the future. If she makes you happy, then you should be with her.

Dominic: One day...

Dominic walks away from Weiss who shakes her head and pushes open the door. Only for it to bump Yang on the head.

Yang: Ow!

Weiss: Yang? What were you—Were you spying on us?

Yang: No! I was...Yes.

Weiss: So I take it you heard everything?

Yang:*nods* What do I do? Do I talk to him? Or do I pretend I never heard it?

Weiss: Do what your heart tells you to do. He likes you a lot. Don't let him slip away from your fingers and regret not doing anything about your feelings.

Weiss walks into the bathroom to change leaving Yang to think about what she should do to show Dominic he didn't have to be worried about her. Then it hits her, she has to win. Winning the tournament could prove to him that she can protect herself. That she can protect him. With a smile on her face and a plan in motion, Yang heads to bed excited for the duos matches tomorrow. Hoping to show Dominic how far she's grown as a fighter.
