We begin with Ruby Rose standing on a cliff with her hood up over her head and her hands together as she silently prays before pulling her hood down

Ruby: Hey mom.

Ruby looks down at the grave of her mother, Summer Rose as the wind blows past her with the sun shining across the horizon

Ruby: Sorry I haven't come by in a while. Things have been....Well, things have been pretty busy. Oh! Dad's here too. He's, you know....dad. He's still teaching at Signal, but he told me he's going to be going out on some mission soon. I think he misses adventuring with you. I miss you too.

The mood begins to grow cheerfully as Ruby begins to tell her mothers grave about her experiences while at Beacon

Ruby: Haven't gotten kicked out of Beacon yet! So that's cool. I think being on a team with Yang helps. I keep her in line~ That was a joke. She's actually a really great fighter, you can tell she learned a lot from Dad. Well so are Weiss and Blake. Oh! They're my teammates. Together, we form Team RWBY. And yes, before you ask, that does cause a lot of confusion. Anyways, uh, I made a lot of friends. And, uh, a boyfriend too. He's really nice. Oh! We also stopped some bad guys too! And demons! Though you'd probably freak out about that last part. But I guess it's like they say: Like mother, like daughter. I still wonder why Ozpin let me into school early. But uh, I guess he'll tell me one day. You know how he is. It's funny, the more I get to know him, the more he starts sounding like uncle Qrow.

A bark from Zwei grabs Ruby's attention and she turns around to see him and her father Taiyang standing there underneath a tree

Ruby: Oh! Looks like Dads back. I gotta go! He's dropping me off at Beacon for the tournament match before he goes on his next mission! Wish me luck!

She pulls her hood over her head and looks at her mothers grave one last time before leaving

Ruby: It was good to talk. And...I met Dominic. That boy you saved. He's a little weird. Okay he's really weird. But he's nice once you get to know him. He really misses you mom. And I think Yang has a crush on him~

She whispers the last part and walks away from her mothers grave with a calm smile on her face

The crowd cheers as the Vytal Festival Tournament begins with Team RWBY versus Team ABRN

Prof. Port: O-HO! It seems we have another astonishing bout ahead of us! Wouldn't you agree, professor?

Dr. Oobleck: Doctor.

There was some venom behind Oobleck's voice after reminding his fellow teacher that he was a doctor and he should respect his title

Dr. Oobleck: And yes, Peter, I think it's safe to say: this match is one of the closest we've seen in the four-on-four round of the tournament.

Prof. Port: For those of you who are just now joining us...Welcome to the Vytal Festival Tournament! Broadcast live from the Amity Colosseum!

The floating colosseum hovered over Beacon as multiple airships flew in to drop off passengers who were there to either compete or watch the tournament

Prof. Port: If this is your first time watching, allow us to break down the rules.

Dr. Oobleck: The tournament is divided into three distinctive rounds. Teams, doubles, and singles. Age and school year are irrelevant. In this tournament, the only attribute being tested....is skill.

Prof. Port: Correct! The winners of this battle will elect two of their members to represent them in the doubles round. Followed by the winners of that round choosing one member to advance once again! The remaining combatants will then fight their way through the bracket in the hope of achieving victory for their kingdom!

Dr. Oobleck: And yes, Peter, these are some spectacular spectacles we on which to spectate on. And I don't think anyone tuning in around the world is going to disagree with me on that.

Prof. Port: Ah, and why would they?

The broadcast was seen by people around the world as we see people in bars, at home, outside in the field. Everyone was sitting down and watching this glorious tournament in excitement.

Prof. Port: Now, let's get back to the match of Team RWBY of Beacon, and Team ABRN of Haven.

Blake and Reese begin their fight with Reese riding up on her hoverboard that she kicks at Blake, only for her to kick it back at Reese who catches it and uses it as a shield to block multiple strikes from Blake as she uses her semblance in her combo.

Reese spins her hoverboard around her body, breaking Blake's stance as he backs off and gets on her hoverboard and flies at Blake

Blake smirks and backflips away, leaving behind a clone made of ice that Reese jumps over only for Blake to cut her hoverboard in half but the two halves turn into twin pistols that she shoots at Blake while in the air and she tries to stick the landing but she fails and lands on her tail bone causing the audience to "oooh" as Blake does the same

Obito:*winces* Ooo~ I hope she's okay.

Sapphire: That hurt me just watching it.

Dante:*rubbing his tailbone* God damn!

Dominic:*points and laughs* Hahaha!!

Sapphire: You just like seeing other people in pain don't you?

Dominic: Yes I do.

Yang let's out a war cry as she dives into battle against Arslan who matches her strength with ease and the two throw a hit that creates a massive shockwave on impact with the others fist/palm. The two were forced apart by the shockwave and Yang goes in and throws a few kicks and side flips before her leg was wrapped around by Arslan's rope dart and she was thrown off to the side by the leader of team ABRN towards the ice half of the arena.

Struggling to keep herself on two feet, Yang was unaware of Arslan who flies in with a punch that sends her flying over in front of one of the other members of team ABRN, Nadir Shiko, who points his gun at Yang but was shot by an ice dust round that freezes him in place and he groans in disappointment as Ruby smirked while looking through the scope of Crescent Rose

Ruby: Got your back!

???: But who's got yours?

Ruby turns around and sees that Bolin, another member of team ABRN, was right behind her twirling his staff about to take her out when a black glyph forms beside him and he was kicked through it by Weiss and he goes flying off to the opposite side of the ring.

Ruby: My BFF!

Weiss: No.

Weiss goes off to fight Bolin while Ruby says yes silently and pumps her fist before following Weiss

Bolin shakes his head as a white glyph appears on the ground in front of him and Weiss uses it to increase her speed as she slashes past him and backflips over him to slash at Bolin with Myrnaster but the swing was blocked by him using his staff. Weiss then gets in a ready stance as another glyph forms behind her and Ruby uses it to jump over Weiss and slams Crescent Rose down on him but her attack was blocked by him and she grits her teeth as she pulls the trigger on her weapon and the recoil from the shot pushes her back from Bolin and she lands next to Weiss

Bolin stands up and runs forward towards the pair while Weiss creates a glyph under her that spawns a group of ice shards that fly at Bolin who rolls underneath them and ignores Weiss and Ruby which confuses the two girls greatly

Ruby: Whaaaat?

Bolin cuts off a pice of fire dust from a large crystal in the ground and tosses it over to Reese who uses it with her hoverboard. She winks at Blake and flies over to her teammate Nadir and melts the ice at his feet. Reese pushes her hoverboard at Blake who tries to block it but the force of the kick pushed her through the ice crystal she was in front of, shattering it.

Reese runs over to Blake and tries to smash her with her hoverboard but the black haired girl spins to her feet, dodging the attack and she uses a clone to take the hit of an attack for her as she throws her sword across from her and it stabs into a large block of ice that she pulls herself around using the long cord connected to her weapon.

Flying around the area, Reese spots Blake not paying attention to her and she smirks as she quickly flies at her and pushes her hoverboard forward at her, only for Reese to hit a clone as Blake's Gambol Shroud flies in front of Reese, connecting to an ice block to her right and Blake pulls on the cord making it go taught as Reese was knocked off her hover board and goes flying off of it and lands out of the arena.

Prof. Port: Ooooh! Double whammy! Reese Chloris is eliminated by ring-out AND Aura level!

Dr. Oobleck: Oh, she really should have worn a helmet.

Reese grits her teeth and hits the ground in frustration as her team now fights 3-on-4

Arslan skates across the ice as Yang follows her using the recoil of her gauntlets to push her forward. Nadir flips in the air and lands pointing his gun at Weiss who pushes Bolin through a glyph that sends him flying at Nadir and the two hit the ground hard. Weiss then creates another glyph underneath the two and they were both picked up by a strong gust of wind created by the glyph until it changes from black to white and a giant hand made out of ice grabs the two and transforms into a giant ball of ice that begins to roll off the stage

Arslan sees her two remaining teammates and rolls her eyes as she runs over to help them. She slides in front of the rolling ball of ice and plants her feet, getting into a perfectly balanced stance and she punches the ball, shattering it and sending her teammates tumbling across the floor to her side

Weiss: Yang!

Yang looks at Weiss who manipulates the ice around the arena to make a ramp that curves around her.

Yang runs up and shoots behind her, using the recoil to push her across the ramp as Blake sprints beside her and tosses her Gambol Shroud as she holds onto the cord tightly and pulls back on it as Yang begins to pull her with her and she hops onto Ruby's back and she launches Blake up to Yang and the two girls fly at the remnants of team ABRN who watched in shock as Blake spins and throws Yang at them who punches all three of them at once and they all go flying out of the ring, giving team RWBY the win.

Prof. Port: And that's the match! Team RWBY wins!

The audience cheers for the girls who were a little shocked they won their first match

Weiss: We did it?

Ruby looks over to Yang and Blake and Yang gives her sister a thumbs up

Ruby: WE DID IIIIIIIIIIIIII-

Ruby: -is anyone else hungry?

Ruby was knelt over with a hungry belly after the hard match they just won

Blake: I may have worked up an appetite.

Blake's stomach begins to groan loudly which surprises her teammates

Weiss: If only there were somewhere on campus to get food around here.

Weiss states the obvious as they were standing in the middle of a group of multiple food stalls

Weiss: Oh, wait.

Ruby: It's okay, Weiss. I forget about the fairgrounds too.

Weiss: I was being facetious.

Ruby scoffs and throws her arms into the air

Ruby: Wh—Well, if you were hungry, why didn't you say so?!

Yang: C'mon! I know just the place.

Weiss hears her phone going off in her pocket and she takes it out, seeing the icon of her father and she rolls her eyes angrily before putting it away and follows her teammates

Emerald: Hey! Might be hard to eat without this.

Team RWBY turns around to see Emerald holding Ruby's wallet in between her fingertips and Ruby frantically searches her pockets

Ruby: Ah! *whimpers* No no no no no no!

Emerald: Ha ha ha ha, good to see you too, Ruby.

Emerald walks over to Ruby and hands over her wallet

Ruby: Thanks Emerald! Guess I dropped it. Guh, girl pockets are the worst!

Yang walks over and joins in on the conversation

Yang: What's up, Em?

Emerald: I just came back from the stadium after watching your amazing fight. You guys were awesome!

Ruby: Oh stop it.* mumbling* Shut your stupid little face~*flustered babbling*

The rest of team RWBY walks up as Ruby was busy being embarrassed with Emeralds praises

Blake: I heard your team progress to the next round, too.

Weiss: You know, I feel like we hardly ever see your other teammates.

Yang: How'd they do in the fight?

Emerald thinks back to her and her teams match where they easily dominated their opponents with their fourth member being a black haired girl in a maid-style outfit who stomps on the face of one of the opponents that Cinder had kicked over to her

Emerald: Very well.

Ruby: That's great! Uh, why don't we all get some victory food together?

???: That sounds lovely.

Everyone turns their head to where the sound of the voice came from and they all see team ODDS walking up towards them

Ruby:*waving* Hi guys!!

Obito: Ruby!

Obito hugs his girlfriend while Sapphire gave everyone a small wave while Dante ate a large turkey leg loudly as he eats like an animal

Weiss: Ugh! Disgusting!

Dante:*mouth full* Mm! Hey! I'm perfectly fine with how people see me! *smack's lips* So don't go judging me princess.

Sapphire: Dante please don't talk with your mouth full. Your girlfriend is right here.

Dante:*mouth full* She don't mind! Do ya?

Blake: Kinda....?

Dante gulps and tosses away the bone that once had meat on it away and it makes it into a trash can behind him

Dominic: So Emerald, I hear your team has advanced towards the next round. How very...expected.

Emerald: Thanks...I guess? Are you guys going up next?

Obito: Hopefully! I can't wait to show off my moves!

Obito throws a few punches and a kick that trips him up and he falls to the ground making Ruby giggle at his expense

Sapphire: Which of you will be moving on towards the Doubles round?

Emerald: Merc and I will be moving forward to the Doubles round. What about you guys?

Ruby: Well as the leader of this team, I decided long and hard about this decision.

Weiss leans in and corrects Ruby's statement with the truth

Weiss: We put it to a vote.

Ruby: Uhhh yes but I decided that we should put it to a vote.

Blake: We voted for Weiss and Yang.

Weiss:*smiles and bows* I will happily represent Team RWBY~

Yang: Yeah, we're gonna kick some butt!

Obito: Well if we win—

DDS: "If"?

Obito: Shh!! We decided it should be the twins. Cause you know.....twins?

Blake: Makes sense.

Emerald: That is so awesome! The two of you working together as brothers is gonna be so fun to watch. But don't think Mercury and I will go easy on ya.

Dominic: Speaking of him, how is he? You know, after he stole my girlfriend from me.

Dante:*winces* That's right. Forgot about that...

Emerald: O-Oh yeah...that. Look, they just want you to know that they're not together anymore okay? So, you can get back with Cinder and things can be back to the way they used to be.

Dominic: Sorry, but I've moved on. But give my regards to her please.

Emerald: Will do. See ya guys. We're gonna go and catch some more fights.

Emerald turns around and walks off

Ruby: Have fun!

Obito: That was really mature of you for moving on Dominic.

Dominic: It's nothing. Besides, they know I mean them no harm.

Emerald and Mercury walk away together and he gets the feeling he was being watched and he turns around to see Dominic staring at him which sent a cold chill down his spine which was worsened by seeing him smile at him before giving him a wink

Mercury:*shudders* Did—did you get what we needed?

Emerald: It's the heiress and the bimbo. And the twins are gonna be in it too so...better say your prayers today.

Mercury: Ah man...that guy...why does he have it out for me?

Teams RWBY and ODDS were all sat on stools surrounding a food stall that was selling bowls of ramen

Yang: I'll have a bowl of the regular, please.

A large bowl of ramen was slid in front of her and Ruby "oooo's" before ordering

Ruby: Oooh. I'll take the same.

Another bowl slides forward and Weiss hums before she orders

Weiss: Hmm. Do you have anything with a low salt—

Before she could speak, a bowl of ramen was slid in front of her and she looked a bit confused

Weiss: Um, okay...?

Blake nods at the cashier who runs to the back and quickly prepares her bowl and and comes out giving her a bowl of ramen with a large number of whole fish on top of it. Blake's mouth begins to water at the sight of the fish and Dante couldn't help but smile at this

Sapphire: I guess I'll just have a regular too.

Sapphires bowl slides over to him and he rubs his hand together while smiling

Obito: Can I get some dango on top of mine?

The cashier nods and Obito's order was prepared at such blinding speeds that he could have done it faster than Ruby was with her semblance

Dante: I'll have something spicy!

A bow of ramen with red habanero sauce spread on top of it was pushed in front of him and he smirks as he twirls his chop sticks in his hands

Dominic: I'm alright-

A bowl of ramen was slid in front of Dominic and he sighs and just accepts the food

Weiss hums and pulls out her personal credit card and hands it over to the cashier

Yang: Aww Weiss! What's the occasion?

Weiss: Consider it thanks for sending me to the Doubles round.

Obito: But why us too?

Weiss: Well...I don't want to be rude.

Sapphire: At least someone here has some manners.

Suddenly Weiss' credit card was imbedded into the table in front of her and the cashier points at the register that had the word "DECLINED" on it in bold red lettering

Weiss: What? How can my card be declined? I was barely into my monthly allowance.

Blake looks around before sneakily trying to escape with the bowl of tuna ramen but it was snatched from her grasp by the cashier and she falls across the table with cartoonishly looking tears flowing down her face

Blake: Nooo...

Obito pats Blake on the back to comfort her over her loss of possibly the best meal ever

???: Maybe I could help?

Team JNPR walks up to the ramen stand and Ruby throws her hands in the air and shouts Pyrrha's name in joy

Ruby: Pyrrha!

Yang: Aw, you don't have to!

Blake: BUT SHE COULD!

Pyrrha:*chuckle* Well, I think you earned it after that battle.

Dominic: I think we should pay for our own meals. We haven't done anything to warrant your charity.

Pyrrha: It's no big deal Dominic.

Dominic: No no. You're already paying for everyone plus Nora. And with how fatty over here eats, you're gonna become bankrupt faster than Ruby can run.

Pyrrha: Well...if you say so.

Dominic waves his hand and a silver credit card appears in it and he gives it to the cashier who nods and handed it back to him.

Dante: You have a credit card?

Dominic: I have to considering how much of the company's money you spend on pizza and strawberry sundaes! I'm surprised you're not a diabetic at this point.

Dante: Because I work hard to keep this body absolutely flawless.

Yang: For Blaaake~?

Blake blushes when she hears the mention of her name and she hides behind the large bowl of noodles in front of her making Yang laugh

Everyone sits with satisfied looks on their faces as their bowls once filled with noodles, now sat empty in front of them

Ren: Are you sure it's wise to have eaten before a fight?

The cashier zips around the table taking everyone's bowls before going into the back of his stand

Pyrrha: Of course! It will give us energy.

Nora:*echoing burp*

Dante: That's nothing!*louder burp*

Nora: Oh yeah?!

Nora inhales and burps with so much force that it has Dante holding onto the table as his clothes and hair were blown back from the burp

Dominic: You two are disgusting.

Jaune groans and puts his head down on the table after he ate a little too much for his stomach to handle

Jaune: Ughh if I barf I'm blaming you.

Nora: Oh! Aim it at the enemy~!

Dante: See this is why I like you Nora, you're as crazy as I am!

Sapphire: Well, we better go.

Ruby: So, you think you guys are ready?

Obito: Why not?! We got a master shinobi—

Both Dominic and Sapphire roll their eyes and do air quotes from Obito calling himself a "master shinobi"

Obito: Whatever Sapphire is, and we've got the twin sons of...of a very powerful warrior!

Obito leans over to Sapphire and whispers to him

Obito: Hey, should JNPR know about what they are?

Sapphire:*shrug* I mean they took Blake being a Faunus well.

Obito: Yeah but they're not Faunus!

Sapphire: And?

Obito: Ugh. Whatever.

Blake: You sure they'll let you use live rounds in the tournament Dante?

Dante: You think I'm stupid enough to use live ammo? Hell no! That's why I've got some dust ammo on me.

Dante pulls out multiple clips of various dust ammunition

Dante: It'll be weird but at least nobody's gonna die.

Dominic: At least we can finally fight actual people under guidelines rather than murderers or demons.

Yang: Yeah, don't sweat it! We've all faced way worse before.

Blake: Let's see: Grimm invasions, violent extremists, a destructive sociopath, demons.

Obito: Don't forget the God of Pain that we fought!

Sapphire: You mean the one that threw you around like a rag doll?

Jaune: I still can't believe you guys fought an actual god.

Dominic: It was a self imposed title on a fool who thought his power was greater than mine.

Dante: You mean "ours" right?

Dominic: Nope.

Obito: Chalk that up to another reason why you can't get a girlfriend: your ego is massive.

Ruby: And you got a big forehead!

Dominic: And you're short! That's automatically worse.

Obito: Hey! What's wrong with being short?!

Ruby: Yeah!

Dominic: How many times have either of you asked someone to get something off the top shelf for you?

Obito: W-well...

Ruby: You...you see..ehehe~

Dante: Woof. He's got you both there.

The intercoms in the area sound off and Professor Port's voice comes through them

Prof. Port: Would Team ODDS please report to the battle ground immediately?

Dr. Oobleck: Yes! Like they were scheduled to, several minutes ago.

Sapphire: I guess that's our cue.

Obito: Yeah! Hands in guys!

Sapphire: No.

Dominic: No.

Dante: Nope.

The three elder members of Team ODDS walks away leaving Obito there with his arm stretched out and he raises it up and cheers before running off to catch up with the rest of his team

Ruby: Go get 'em!

Yang: Yeah! Kick some butt Dom!

Obito: Seriously Dom, she likes you. Why don't you just go and ask her out?

Dominic: She's just giving me some words of encouragement. Besides, I.....don't know how to ask someone out on a date.

Sapphire: Hm. The mighty son of Sparda afraid of a little girl~ Aww~

Dante: Mom would be so happy you have a widdle crush~

Dante pinches his brothers cheek only for him to be kicked away across the grass

The crowd cheers as Team ODDS and their opponents walk up into the center of the arena. Team RWBY goes to find their seats as Emerald and Mercury split off and sit down with Mercury eating from a large bucket of popcorn

Mercury: I wonder who's gonna win.

Emerald: Tch. As if we already didn't know.

Cinder walks up behind her two accomplices and looks down at the two teams as they all take out their weapons

Cinder: Oh, come now. Even if you know how a story ends, that doesn't make it any less fun to watch.

She takes an un-popped kernel from Mercurys bucket and uses her semblance to heat it up and it pops in her hand and she eats it. Her eyes gaze at Dominic and she traces a finger along her stomach with a devious grin on her face

Mercury: You gonna tell him?

Cinder: Eventually. But let him enjoy himself before he find out the hard truth. It'll be more fun to watch him crumble after all the hard work he's done~

Cinder sits down and watches the match as Professor Port calls out the names of both teams in the arena

Prof. Port: Team ODDS of Beacon versus Team WARD of Haven!

Holograms appear around the arena and begin to cycle between which battleground they will be fighting on and the side that Team WARD was on displayed a dense forest while the side Team ODDS was standing on had a large rocky mountain on the screen. Both sides then lowered into the ground and their battlegrounds lifted up and Port gave the countdown to the start of their match

Prof. Port: Three.....Two....One....

Ruby: Wooooo!

Dante: Alright guys....

Prof. Port: BEGIN!

Both teams charged at each other ready to fight for a shot at being the ones who will get the victory for their kingdom

Let's rock!!
