Dominic gasps awake in a cold sweat. Scanning the room he sighs, wiping his forehead before he lies back down and looks at his watch

Dominic:~5:30? Great..~

The teen sighed and got up from his sleeping area and buttoned up his vest and threw on his coat as quietly as he could but god had other things in mind as his book fell on the ground with a loud THUD. Dominic let out a silent "FUCK" as he picked up his beloved book and slid it back into his coat

Dominic:*whisper* I have some time before anyone wakes up.

Grabbing the Yamato, Dominic tiptoes his way around his fellow students as best as he could through the darkness of the ballroom

Dominic:~Shit shit come on! God, I wish I could see in the dark. Oh, this would be so much easier!~

Making it out of the ballroom, Dominic pumps his fist in the air in victory before leaving.

~Outside~

Dominic scans the area for people and when he confirms that he is alone, he begins training with his sword. Beginning with slow swings which transition into quicker slashes.

Sheathing his sword, Dominic stands up straight and reels his arm back a couple of inches. He sets his eyes on the tree in front of him.

Dominic:*exhales* Here goes...

In a flash, Dominic lunges forward at the tree and with a swift move of his hand he brings out the Yamato to start his combo. Spinning in the air and creating his Judgment Cuts as a trail, he makes it about four feet in front of him before hitting the ground

Dominic: Ugh!

The cold ground only filed Dominic's rage as he got up and punched the tree, only to have the bones in his hand make a loud CRACK when his fist impacted the tree

Dominic: FFFFFFFFFFFF-!!

Dominic held his hand in pain and secondhand embarrassment but the pain was dulled by his ever-growing rage

Dominic: Argh!!! Why isn't this working?! Must I fail at the simplest of tasks!?

Enraged, Dominic starts hitting the tree furiously with the Yamato like a bat, slamming the blade into the bark of the tree

Dominic: I! WILL! NOT! BE! MADE! A FOOL! BY! A! STUPID! TREE!!

Very few have seen Dominic lash out in anger and none have lived to tell of it. He doesn't try to be an angry man but his emotions always get the best of him

Laying on the ground from exhaustion, Dominic looks up at the stars in the night sky, blowing a piece of his hair out of his eyes to get a better view of the cracked moon

Dominic: I wonder if Father knew something about that. A battle I'd love to see.

Gazing at the Yamato in his hand, Dominic takes the blade out of its sheathe. Looking into his reflection in the blade, he rubs his tired eyes

Dominic: No matter how much I try to forget, I can never get those memories to go away.

The sound of gunfire and tank treads running across the floor rings loud in Dominic's mind as well as lightning striking and a man screaming in agony.

Dominic:*checks his watch* The others will wake up soon.

Picking himself up, Dominic grabs Yamato's sheathe and sheathes it in it and slides it into his coat, and walks back to the school.

~Dante's POV~

???: Wake up, lazy butt!!

Dante's eyes shot open at the sound of a girl's high-pitched voice which also woke up many other sleeping students

Dante:*groans as he sits up*

Dante turns his head to where the voice originated from and he sees a hyperactive girl with orange hair bounce around a guy with long black hair with pink highlights in it and he groans at the sound of her high-pitched voice screaming at him

Hyper girl: It's morning! It's morning! It's morning!

The guy talked to the girl with a low, quiet tone in his voice

Quiet guy: Yes Nora, it's the morning...

Nora: Come on Ren! We gotta get ready!

Dante: No amount of tinnitus could block out the sound of her voice...

Dante yawns and stands up, taking passing glances at the hyper girl named Nora as she pulls the arm of the boy she called Ren. Picking up his clothes, Dante makes his way to the bathroom to wash up before the day starts.

In the bathroom, Dante washed his hair off and his face. The sound of the door opens and Dante turns around and sees Obito with a towel over his shoulder

Obito: Oh, Dante.

Dante: Hey Obito wassup?

Obito: Eh nothing much. Just trying to start the day.

Obito took off his goggles and set them aside on the sink and started to wash his face as Dante brushed his teeth

Dante: So..why the goggles?

Obito: Uh my grandma gave them to me.

Dante: As a gift?

Obito: Medical reasons.

Dante:*spits* Really?

Obito: Yeah my eyes dry up easily so I have to keep these on at all times. But it's not 100 percent effective so I keep eye drops on hand.

Dante: Must've sucked having to keep those on.

Obito: It did at first but I got used to them.

Obito spreads open his eyes and drops eye drops in them and then straps on his goggles to his face and smiles at himself in the mirror

Obito: You know Dante, you're a cool guy.

Dante: Thanks, man.

Obito: I hope today I get put on a team with you and not that dickhead brother of yours.

Dante: Yeah he can be a pain in the butt sometimes.

???: Hey are you two done sucking each other off??

The two friends looked to their side at the toilet stalls, where the voice had come from the door opened and Sapphire walked out zipping up his pants and stretching his muscles

Dante: Oh so you finally come down from your nest?

Sapphire: Mhm..

Sapphire turned on the sink and began washing his hands as he conversed with Dante and Obito

Obito: Uh who is this guy??

Dante: This big hunk of love is Sapphire.

Sapphire: So you're the Uchiha Ozpin brought in here.

Obito: How did-

Sapphire: You're clan insignia is on your back dipshit.

Obito: O-oh! Right...hehe...yeah...

Sapphire:*rolls his eyes* Where's dipshit number two?

Dante: Don't know. Never saw him leave but his stuff is gone.

Obito: Probably got up early. Though with how he looks, I don't think he even sleeps.

The trio share a laugh before parting ways to the locker room where Dominic had been, fixing up his locker to his liking with his things in specific places

Dominic:*humming*

Dante:*clapping to the beat* Heyyy Macarena ~ What's up dude?

Dominic:*sighs* What..?

Dante: Nobody saw you leave man, where were you?

Dominic: None of your fucking business Dante.

Dante: You know you were always a brat but never this much of a douchebag.

Dominic fixes his ascot in the mirror mounted inside his locker, growing more frustrated by Dante's distractions

Dante: Hey when you're done, can you take the stick out of your ass?

SLAM!!

Dominic embedded his fist into the locker beside his, obliterating the door and scaring Obito who had just walked up after changing his clothes

Dominic: I hope to God we aren't on a team together.

Dante: You're just mad I can make friends easier than you.

Dominic: I don't make friends with children.

Dante: We're all legally kids still.

Dominic: I'm going to illegally kick the shit out of you if you keep testing my patience. Now scram, I want to scout for a team of competent people and not one consisting of a buffoon and a midget!

Obito: OH YEAH CAN A MIDGET DO THIS!?

Obito reaches behind him and throws six kunai knives at Dominic but they all pass by him.

Dominic: That was quite possibly the dumbest thing I've ever see-EEEN!

Multiple sharp pains assault Dominic's back. Turning his head, he sees the six kunai that were thrown at him are now embedded into his back

Dominic: H-how..?

Obito: Didn't think a runt could hurt you huh you overconfident prick!

Rage boiled inside of Dominic as his face turned into a frown he gritted his teeth and his eyes had a bright fire in them. Clenching his hand into a fist, multiple swords appeared out of thin air pointed directly at Obito

Obito: S-so this is your semblance huh..?

Dominic: What happened to all that bravado big man?

Dominic took a step forward towards Obito causing him to back up from Dominic

Dominic: Come on Obito! You were so confident before!

Yang: Hey leave him alone!!

Turning to face her, Dominic crossed his arms as Yang stormed up to him with Ruby following her but stayed behind her not wanting to get into a fight

Yang: Back off dickhead!

Dominic: What do you want??

Yang: How about leaving him alone for starters?

Dominic: And who's going to make me? You? Don't make me laugh little girl.

Yang: Why you..!

Reeling her fist back, Yang throws a punch at Dominic's face but instead of her fist meeting his face, her face met with his fist and then her body met the floor

Ruby: Yang!

Dante: Ooh~ that's gotta hurt.

Yang growled and opened her eyes with them turning red and her hair started to glow bright yellow

Yang: AAAH!!

Yang lunged at Dominic in a blind fury. She threw a punch that he dodged but followed with a kick that he caught and spun around and slammed her into the lockers

Yang: Aaah!

Dominic: Pathetic.

She got back up and went in for another right hook. Her fist was deflected and she felt Dominic's hand grasp her throat tight. His cold fingers only made it worse for her as she was lifted in the air by Dominic who used only one arm

Dante: Whoa there killer! Put the girl down or else I'll have to get violent.

Dante reached behind him for one of his handguns but didn't pull it out as Ruby ran up and grabbed Dominic's arm

Ruby: Stop it! Please don't hurt my sister!

Dominic says nothing and releases Yang from his grasp. She coughed and gasped for air as the color returned to her face

Dominic: Be glad I did not use my sword in this fight. Because if I did...

Reaching behind him, Dominic pulls out one of the kunai still in his back

Dominic: You'd be a pile of sliced ham on the floor. So please, for your safety, don't challenge me again. And you!

Dominic throws the kunai in his hand at Obito's feet making him jump in shock

Dominic: I'll let your little party trick "slide" but just like I told her, don't challenge me again.

Turning around and walking past everyone, Dominic grabs Obito by the face and rubs his cheeks as he leaves them.

Dante:*sigh* Shit...You okay Blondie?

Yang: No..! Your-*cough* fucking psycho brother nearly killed me!

Ruby: Why would...why would he do that?

Dante: Kid I don't even know how he's even alive. I thought he's been dead for eight years until last week and now he's choking girls out and making death threats. If someone has the answer then they'd better speak up.

Obito: Well whatever happened can it be reversed? I think everyone would benefit from him getting an attitude adjustment!

Yang: Ruby, I don't want you to be near him again. EVER. Got it?

Ruby:*nod* Yes Yang...I.. understand.

Yang: Are you seriously second-guessing this!? You saw me get strangled not even two seconds ago!

Ruby: I don't know what to think okay!! He's nice to me but mean to everyone else! I don't know what's going on Yang!

Overwhelmed with feelings, Ruby ran off leaving behind the rose Dominic created for her. Yang picks up the rose and sighs.

Dante: Just let her be alone Blondie. She needs time to cool off.

Yang:*sigh* Love makes you feel good but makes you think stupid things.

Obito: Like blindly love an obvious psycho?

Dante: Come on. We're going to be late.

~timeskip~

The twins arrive at the location Ozpin had relayed to everyone to meet up at this morning and see Ozpin and Glynda Goodwitch there as well as Sapphire who had arrived hours earlier

Sapphire: You sure took your sweet time.

Dominic: Kept you waiting huh?

Dante: So Ozzy, why have we come out here? I mean the view is nice but I've seen better.

Ozpin: All will be revealed when everyone is here Mr.Sparda. Until then you three will just have to wait.

Sapphire: Heh, maybe he's gonna throw colored rocks into the forest, and the ones that match make up the teams.

Dominic: Maybe we're hunting Grimm and those who get the most kills get to be team leader.

Ozpin: Ah yes that reminds me. Ms.Goodwitch, if you, please...

Glynda steps up to the three boys typing on her tablet, stopping to show them the image of a creature covered in shadows

Goodwitch: There have been reports of a creature nesting in this area of the forest. Naturally, we would send Huntsmen to deal with it but...all sent in have been found dead with the look of fear plastered onto their faces.

Dominic: Is it Grimm?

Goodwitch: We don't know what it is.

Sapphire: Wait so you could've had me kill that thing rather than standing here like an idiot for the past hour?

Ozpin: We felt that someone with experience in dealing with the "unusual" would be more suited to fight this thing.

Dante: Oh I get it. You want me to kill this thing today so you don't get a lawsuit on your hands by an angry parent.

Ozpin: That's why I invited you here Mr.Sparda. To keep these incidents under wrap and contain them without anyone knowing.

Dominic: Anyone normal?

Sapphire: True. We're not normal by any standards.

Dante: Okay okay I'll do it. But for a nice fee.

Goodwitch: What? You expect us to pay for it!

Ozpin: I accept.

You could practically see the dollar signs in Dante's eyes as the sound of an easy payday is one thing Dante absolutely CAN NOT pass up

Dante:*rubbing his hands* Hehe~ easy money baby.

Dominic: So what if one of us kills it? Will we get the reward instead?

Sapphire: Yeah. What if my sword uh.. suddenly swings in the wrong direction and cuts off that thing's head? Theoretically of course.

Dante: Wah?! You dicks! You're trying to cut me out of a paycheck!

Dominic: What's wrong with wanting to get paid for killing such a dangerous creature?

Sapphire: I agree. I mean I wouldn't kill the devil just for free. Wouldn't you?

Dante: Debatable. But that's beside the point! I'm the one with the shop! This is my JOB! You two clowns are not employees so you don't get a cut. Nor, do you get to take this job from me.

Ozpin: Then why not make it a contest? The first one of you to kill the beast and bring back valid proof of its demise will get the money for this job.

The trio look at each other and nod their heads, agreeing to the terms of the assignment

Ozpin: It's settled then.

Dante: May the best hunter win.

Sapphire: I intend to.

Dominic: That's such a cliche.

Sapphire: Not if it's true.

Dominic: We shall see.

Goodwitch: Take your places, children. The others will be here shortly.

Dante: Let's hope Blondie cooled off after the smackdown you laid on her.

Dominic: With a temper like hers, I would expect nothing less than a punch to the face.

Suddenly the impact of Yang's fist was felt on Dominic's face, sending him back a few feet but the half-demon catches himself from falling off the cliff. His hair falls over his eyes as his blood drips from his mouth

Yang: Got you you son of a bitch!

Ruby:*grabs Yang's arm* Yang don't do this! Remember what he did last time!

Yang: I don't care! This little punk is gonna get what he deserves!

Anger boils inside the katana-wielding devil hunter, gazing towards Yang. His hand reached for his sword, and an enraged expression cemented onto his face. As he begins to draw his sword out, Ruby races over to Dominic. With speed, she has never exhibited before and catches his arm before he could unsheathe his blade.

Ruby: No! Dominic, don't be stupid.

Dominic looked down at Ruby and gazed into her eyes. The intensity was pouring from her and filled his soul. His expression changes from a fiery anger to a soft, calm expression. He took a deep breath and began to recite a poem to himself

Dominic: Those who restrain desire do so because theirs is weak enough to be restrained...

Taking another deep breath, he fixed his hair. His gaze goes down to his hand which was still being grasped tightly by Ruby.

Dominic: Then again, pride is also wrong...

He smiles at Ruby, and presses his right hand against her cheek, feeling her smooth skin.

Dominic: Some resist for another's sake, others for their own.

Ruby blushed and looked away, feeling a tinge of shame.

Dominic: The more we can do this, the more you will realize who you are.

Ruby felt a pull in her stomach, and shivers went down her spine, holding his hand tighter. She spoke,

Ruby: Dominic I-

Obito: You can't be serious!!

Both of their attentions shoot towards Obito who is angered at the excessive hand-holding Dominic and Ruby were doing in front of everyone half an hour ago, he and Dominic nearly killed each other.

Obito: Are you two finished playing around already!!

Dominic: Silence! You spoiled the mood Obito.

Obito stormed up to them, his fiery gaze looking up at Dominic

Obito: Don't you lecture me about the mood when you're the one who started this whole thing when you called me short!

Dominic: How could you get angry at the truth?

Obito: Gr! There you go again! You're smug attitude and name-calling is pissing me off!!

Ruby: Guys stop fighting!

Both looked back at Ruby, slowly calming down but neither made the first move to apologize.

Goodwitch:*irritated sigh* Four years with these children...

Ozpin says nothing as he takes a sip of his coffee and clears his throat

Ozpin: Now that you are all done, we can get this started. Now, will you all take your place?

Ozpin pointed his cane at the ground which was lined with grey squares that everyone took their spots on and awaited further instructions

Ozpin: For years, you have trained to become warriors, now your skills will be tested in the Emerald Forest.

Goodwitch: Now, we know you've heard the rumors regarding assigned teams but-

Obito: Yeah I've been meaning to ask about that. Uh, can I not be on a team with HIM?

Obito points his finger at Dominic while saying his gripes with him in a venom-filled tone

Ozpin: Then I hope those legendary eyes your clan is known for don't drift to him. Because once you and another student make eye contact, you will be partners for the next four years

Ruby's world came crashing down on her as she almost fell over from the shock of the news

Ruby: Whaaaat!?

Sapphire: So you're saying if I don't make eye contact with any of these chuckleheads I get to be my team?

Goodwitch: No, you are required to be in a team or you will gain no entry to Beacon.

Sapphire sighs in disappointment and crosses his arms

Ozpin: After you've partnered up, you will make your way to the northern end of the forest. You will meet opposition on the way. Be prepared to destroy everything in sight for if you don't, you will DIE.

The blonde boy from the airship who threw up in the trashcan made an audible gulp on the emphasis of the word "die"

Ozpin: You will be monitored and graded on your performance in this initiation but your instructors will not intervene.

Dante: So you're just throwing us in the ocean and hoping we float back up?

Ozpin: I have faith in your abilities.

Dante:*mutter* That makes one of us..ahem! Hey Oz! What's the payout for this job? I mean I won't just take the change in your pockets for a dangerous job like this. I need some REAL dough.

Ozpin:*smile* That won't be a problem at all Mr.Dante

Glynda taps her data pad a few times and Dante's scroll buzzes in his pocket  making him take it out the sight on the screen makes his eyes nearly pop out of his head

Ozpin: This is your pay if you successfully kill the demon.

Dante: Damn! Okay Ozpin, you got yourself a dead demon!

Dominic: But what if more than one of us kills the beast? Do we get the reward?

Dante: Uh that's not gonna happen because I'm gonna be the one who's gonna kill it. And have you forgotten I'm the one with the business?

Glynda: It's registered to Antonio Redgrave. Who has a very large debt to pay?

Dominic: Really Dante? Redgrave?

Dante: What?

Dominic: A quick search of your name and someone will know that person doesn't exist.

Dante: That's why I'm a bounty hunter who takes "special" jobs dipstick!

Sapphire: Because only a "special" little boy like you could deal with these problems.

Dante: I swear I hope either you die or I die today in that forest!

Dominic: I can make that happen.

Obito:*rolls eyes* Ugh...

Ozpin: Once you make contact with your teammates, you will then search for the abandoned temple at the end of the path which will contain several relics. Each pair must choose one relic and bring it back to the top of the cliff. We will regard that item, as well as your standing, and grade you appropriately. Are there any questions?

The blonde boy cleared his throat and raised his hand

Blonde boy: Uh, sir?

Ozpin: Good! Now, take your positions.

Dante: Shot down.

Everyone strikes a pose on their tile. Except for the blonde boy who was practically pissing himself scared while raising his hand

Blonde boy: Uh, sir? I've got...um, a question. So, this is landing....strategy..thing...uh, what is it? You like, dropping us off or something?

Dominic grunts and rolls his shoulders, popping his joints

Ozpin: No. You'll be falling.

Blonde boy: Oh, I see. So, like, did you hand out parachutes for us?

Dominic:~Oh my fucking god nobody can be this retarded.~

Ozpin: No. You will be using your own landing strategy.

Jaune: Uh huh, yeah.

Yang throws on sunglasses and grins at her sister then her gaze turns to Dominic and she lowers her sunglasses and glares at him with piercing red eyes. Dominic feels the death stare and returns her dirty look with a glare of his own

Yang: Oh I hope I see you first. Cause when I do, I'm gonna make the next four years of your life a living he-

Yang gets launched, cutting her off from her sentence, or in more literal terms her threat. Dominic bursts out laughing at Yang and points at her as she flies through the air still screaming

Dominic: Hahahaha!! Ahahahahaha!

Blonde boy: So, what exactly is a landing strategyyyyyyy!!..

The blonde boy was interrupted by his tile launching him into the forest which only gave Dominic more fuel to his laugh as he began to wheeze with his face turning red

Dominic: Oh my god I'm gonna fucking piss myself!! Ahahaha!! Holy shit this is the best day everrrr!!..

Finally, Dominic gets launched into the forest and the laughing is continued by Obito

Obito: Hahaha!! That's called Karma bitch!! Karmaaaa!!..

Obito screams as soon as his turn comes to get launched

Sapphire: They're all a bunch of idiots...

Dante: Yeah and I'm related to one of them so how do you think I feel?

Sapphire: I cannot imagine what you're going through right now.

Sapphire throws his hood over his head and then his turn comes to get launched into the forest.

Dante:*sigh* Welp. Looks like it's gonna be four years of this. Heh, I can't wait.

With his trademark smirk sprawled across his face, Dante gets launched into the forest with a boisterous whoop and cheer

Dante: WAHOOOO!!!

Gaining her equilibrium, Yang grunts and uses the recoil from her shoguns on her gauntlets to push herself toward her objective still frowning from her encounter with Dominic

Yang: He better pray I don't see him. But if I don't and he sees Ruby..*gasp* she'll be with that creep for four years!! No no no no no!!

The worried sister runs deeper into the forest as the other students fly over the treeline

Dante: Haha! Yeah!!

Swinging his sword, Dante thrusts it forward and used the momentum to cover more ground as well as his utilization of his teleport or his "trick"

Dante: Sword! Trick! Sword! Trick! Sword! Trick! Sword! Trick! Sword! Trick!

Dominic: Hey that's cheating!! You're not getting that bounty before me-!

Dominic impacts fact first into a tree he did not see in front of him

Obito: AHAHAHAA!!

Dante: Suck it!

He hops off the tip of a tree and slams his sword down on a Grimm, cutting it in half. Dante spins his sword places it on his back and continues his trek to his objective

Dominic:*growling* I will destroy this whole forest along with that devil!

Dominic leaps off of the tip of a tree and dashes around the treetops until he slides down a fallen tree and bounces off of the trunk of it and grabs onto a branch, swinging forward and doing a sick backflip and landing on his feet

Dominic: Hah..*wipes his lip* Time to find a team. Hopefully without the trio of idiots.

Frantically flapping his arms to gain some stability, Obito shouts as he flies through the air like a baseball thrown by a professional pitcher

Obito: AAAH! Ah! Ah! Ah!!

As the ground gets closer to Obito his panic does with it as he crashes into the treeline and frantically tries to grab onto a branch but he can't seem to keep himself from panicking. He felt a huge pain in his chest caused by his crashing into a tree branch chest first. He held onto the branch as he gasped for air, sweating and cussing out loud

Obito: Stupid freaking nature! Stupid fucking hands! Stupid Dominic! Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!!!

He angrily sighs dusts himself off and surveys his surroundings

Obito: I've got to find a teammate and fast. Preferably Dante or Ruby. And especially not that stupid Dominic! The guys a menace!

Obito runs off into the forest to find a partner to get to the ruins and complete his objective

Sapphire extended his limbs to slow his descent

Sapphire: Let's do this right...

The ground grows closer and closer, and before the moment of impact, he rolls across the grass but uses the momentum to jump up and grab onto the trunk of a tree. Clenching his leg muscles, he shoots off the tree, breaking it under the force of his jump. Sapphire shoots through the forest as a blur

Sapphire:*smirks* Sorry Dante, but it looks like you're gonna be out of a paycheck.

The four boys dash through the forest to find a partner and find the bounty of imaginable wealth. Though these unlikely boys are universally different, they will soon come together and save the world from a darkness as old as time itself.
