On the Saturday afternoon before the dance, team RWBY was in the auditorium setting up everything for Sunday

Obito:*sigh*

Obito leaned on a ladder looking at Ruby sitting by herself looking somber due to Blake's refusal to go to the dance.

Obito: Sapphire how do you tell a girl you like her?

Sapphire was on top of the ladder Obito was leaning on, helping team RWBY set up decorations for the dance but stops when Obito asks for his input

Sapphire: That you like her.

Obito: But what if you're too scared to tell her? What if every time you try to tell her you like her, you slur your words and you can't even say anything?

Sapphire: Hold on.

Sapphire slides down the ladder and wipes his hands with a rag

Sapphire: Just get it over with. She's right there and the dance is tomorrow. Either do it right now or at the dance.

Obito: But what if she doesn't like me? What if she thinks that I'm only trying to date her is because she's the only other fifteen year old here!

Sapphire: I mean....you basically have zero options when it comes to dating in this situation.

Obito wails and puts his hands to his head in sorrow

Sapphire: Hey look, you're a good kid Obito. You're a little goofy but I think that'll work in your favor here. All you need, is confidence.

Obito: And how do I do that?

Sapphire: Give her a smile. Something that says: "I'm in the best mood right now and I want to ask you something!"

Obito: Okay....how's this?

Sapphire: Ehh. A little more cocky than confident.

Obito: Oh then how about this?

Sapphire:*clap* There!

Obito: Really?!

Sapphire: Yeah. Now go over there and ask her out.

Obito: Thanks Sapphire! You're the best!

Obito walks over towards Ruby, smiling the whole way over to her

Sapphire:*sniffle* They grow up so fast..

Dante:*walks up* Is he gonna do it?

Sapphire: Shut up and watch.

They watch as Obito speaks with Ruby and the lean in trying to hear what they were saying

Obito: Hey Ruby!

Ruby: Hm? Oh, hey Obito..

Obito: Is Blake still at it about finding Torchwick?

Ruby: Yeah...

Obito: Well maybe I could..cheer you up!

Ruby: How?

Obito: Well...i-if you'll say yes to it...I was thinking about-

Suddenly Weiss comes from out of nowhere and slams down two strips of cloth on the table that Ruby was sat at scaring both her and Obito

Ruby: Ah!

Obito: Wah!!

Weiss: I need you to pick a tablecloth.

Obito: Uh..Weiss?

Weiss sees that she had just interrupted the two having a conversation

Weiss: I'm sorry, was I interrupting something?

Dante: MOVE!!

Weiss: Geez! Okay! I'll ask her later!

Weiss storms off leaving Obito to finally ask his question to Ruby

Obito: Ruby...would you like to-

A loud thud sounded out behind them as Yang had just placed down a large speaker right behind Ruby

Dante: Seriously!?

Yang dusts her hands off and walks up to Ruby and Obito

Yang: So, what's going on over here?

Obito: I uh....was about to ask Ruby if...if..if she would...

Yang: Would...?

Sapphire: YANG!!

Yang looks over at Sapphire and Dante who were pointing at Obito and Ruby and it takes her a few seconds to get what they were trying to tell her, but when it clicked in her mind, she gasped and smiled at what was going on

Ruby: Yang? What's wrong?

Yang: Oh nothing! I'll get out of your hair.

Yang pats Obito on the back and leaves, joining Dante and Sapphire in watching Obito trying to pop the big question

Obito:*sigh* Okay! Ruby.

Obito lifts up his goggles and looks Ruby in the eyes showing the seriousness of his question

Ruby: O-Obito?

Obito: Will you...please...go to the dance with me?

Ruby: ....huh?

Obito: Will you go to the dance with me!?

Ruby: Y-you want to take me...to the dance?

Obito: Yes..I do. S-so..*gulp* what do you say?

Ruby:*sigh* I want to go with you but...what's the point if Blake isn't going?

Obito: Oh...r-right.

Ruby: I'm sorry Obito.

Obito: I-it's fine..

Obito slides his goggles on and walks away with his head hung low

Dante: Did she say no?

Sapphire: No way she did. She isn't like that.

Dante goes up to the two and pulls up a chair to sit on while he talks to them

Dante: Yo, why the long face red?

Ruby: I feel bad. I want Blake to have fun and..Obito just asked me to the dance and I basically rejected him..

Dante: What if I convince Blake to go? Then will you go out with him? He really likes you Ruby. Like..a lot.

Ruby looks over at Obito who was just about to reach for the door when she sped over to him using her semblance and grabbed his hand

Ruby: Wait!!

Obito: R-Ruby?

Ruby: I'm sorry! I don't want you to think that I don't like you Obito! Because...I do!

Dante: LETS GOO!!

Obito: You do? Wait! You do!!?

Ruby:*nods* You didn't do anything wrong by asking me to the dance Obito. I want to go with you! And I'll pick out the cutest dress just for you!

Obito: But..what about Blake? Don't you want her to go to the dance too?

Ruby: I do. But I don't know how I could convince her...

Yang: Leave that to me!

Yang goes up and puts a hand on Ruby's shoulder and gives her a reassuring smile

Yang: Don't worry, Blake 'will' be going to the dance. You just need to worry about looking cute for your big date~!

Yang pinches her sisters cheeks before heading off to find Blake

Ruby:*rubs her cheek* Ow..

Obito: S-so...see you tomorrow?

Ruby: Y-yeah...see you tomorrow.

Obito waves goodbye to Ruby and walks away but turns back around to give her another wave, only for him to bump into a table and fall on the floor

Obito: AH!

Ruby: Pff!!

Dante: Smooth like pudding ain't he?

Sapphire: I'd say he's as smooth as a brick.

Dante: Hahaha! Ah~ Hey where's Dom?

Dominic: I've been here the whole time.

Dante: Ah! Geez!

Dominic: What?

Dante: Why didn't you say anything! And why are you wearing glasses?

Dominic: I've been sewing up the doilies for Weiss all day.

Sapphire: That does explain the glasses.

Dominic: Sewing requires a precise hand and eyesight. One thing I don't have on account of my right eye being not so good.

Dante: Wait are you blind in one eye?

Dominic: No? Look I need to finish these up before tomorrow so if you'll excuse me, I have to find more white string so I can sew every stitch with the love inside my heart~

Dante: Didn't know you had a heart.

Dominic: Oh yeah?

Dominic kicks his brother in the crotch making him fall to the floor in agony

Dante: AUAGH!!

Dominic: And you don't have balls. Prick.

Dante: OHOHOO!! OOH! HE HIT MY GRUNDLE TOO!!

Sapphire: You know...this is better than TV.

In the library, Blake was sat at a table looking through a computer in her desperate search for answers on Torchwicks involvement with the White Fang

She rubs her tired eyes and goes back to typing when a red dot appeared on the monitor in front of her and moved around the screen and then to her hand. Looking back at who was trying to get her attention, she finds that no one was there and goes back to her work

Again the red dot appeared and she slammed her hands on the desk she was at and sat up to follow the red dot which led her to Yang holding a laser pointer in her hand

Yang: Hellooo~!

Blake: What are you-!

Yang: We need to talk.

Yang grabs Blake by the arm and pulls her out of the library before she could get out a word to protest and brings her into an empty classroom. The two begin to speak about Blake's current issue with Roman and the White Fang with Yang sitting on a desk and Blake pacing back and forth

Blake: Yang, if you're going to tell me to stop, you may as well save your breath.

Yang: I don't want you to stop. I want you to slow down.

Blake: We don't have the luxury to slow down.

Yang: It's not a luxury. It's a necessity.

Blake: The necessity is stopping Torchwick.

Yang: And we're going to. But first I want you to sit down and listen to what I have to say.

Blake gave in to Yang and sat down on the table with her and listened as she began to tell Blake a story

Yang: Ruby and I grew up in Patch. An island just off the coast of Vale. Our parents were huntsmen. Our dad taught at Signal, and our mom around the Kingdom. Her name was Summer Rose. And she was like, super-mom. Baker of cookies and slayer of giant monsters. And then, one day she left for a mission and never came back.

Blake could see the small hint of sadness in Yangs voice as well did her face show that the pain of the loss of Summer still dwindles within her

Yang: Ruby was torn up, but...I think she was still too young to get what was going on, ya know? And my dad just kinda....shut down. It wasn't long before I learned why. Summer wasn't the first love he'd lost. She was the second. The first....was my mom.

Blake's ears perked up upon hearing that Yang not only lost one mother but two in her life

Yang: He wouldn't tell me everything. But I learned that the two of them have been on a team with Summer and Qrow. And that she left me with him just after I was born.

???: Dang.

The girls look over at the doorway to the classroom and they see Dante leaning up beside it having listened in on the story since the beginning

Dante: You know I thought I was sad but man...that's just really sad. So your mom just up and left?

Yang: Yeah...No one had seen her since.

Blake: Why did she leave you?

Yang:*sigh* That question...."Why?"

Yang got up from the desk and walked over to the chalkboard and picked up a piece of chalk sitting nearby and she began to draw a picture on the chalkboard

Yang: I didn't understand why but I was determined to find out. It was all I thought about. I would ask anybody I could what they knew about her. Then...one day, I found something. What I thought was a clue that could lead me to answers. Or maybe even my mother.

Dante: What was it?

Yang: A picture. An old one from before Ruby and I were born. I waited for dad to leave the house, put Ruby in a wagon and headed out. I must've walked for hours. I had cuts and bruises, was totally exhausted. But I wasn't gonna let anything stop me. When we finally got there, I could barely stand

The image of an old decrepit barn flashed in her mind. How the wind blew in her hair, the sounds of the old wood the barn was made out of creaking constantly as if it could fall at anytime

Yang: But I didn't care. And then I saw him..

Blake: Him?

Yang: A kid. He was sitting inside the place I was looking for wrapped up in an old cloth blanket. He looked awful. Like he'd been there for days with no food or water. He walked up to us growling like an animal. Told us to leave him alone. Then, he jumped at us. I thought he was gonna attack me and Ruby but he defended me from a Grimm. I didn't even hear it sneak up on us.

Dante: A kid was fighting a Grimm? That's impressive.

Yang: It was. He pulled out a sword from underneath his cover and killed the Grimm in one slice. Once it was dead, he told us to leave again but I couldn't say anything from being so thirsty, so tired. He noticed Ruby in the wagon and went over to her. I thought he was gonna hurt her but he just put his hand on her face and started crying. It still confused me to this day why he cried when he saw her. But what happened after is why I'll never forget what he did for us. A Grimm jumped at me and he shielded me from its claws. Sometimes I can still hear his screams. Loud...echoing throughout the forest. I think that's what attracted more Grimm to us.

Yang wiped her eye and started to draw two small stick figures being guarded by another stick figure with a sword while drawing a group of monsters around them

Yang: He told me to take Ruby and run away. But I just stood there too scared to move. There we were, a toddler asleep in the back of a wagon and a stupid girl too exhausted to even cry for help while some stranger with a sword protected us. We would have died if not for my uncle showing up just in time. The kid who protected us got scared of him and ran away. Qrow would have chased after him if we weren't there.Now not only am I searching for my mother, I'm searching for the boy that protected us. So that I can thank him. My stubbornness should've gotten us killed that day. I want him to know what he means to me.

Blake: Yang...I'm sorry that happened to you....and I understand that what you're trying to tell me, but this is different! I'm not a child, and this isn't just a search for answers, I can't just-!

Yang: I TOLD you, I'm not telling you to stop. I haven't. To this day I still want to know what happened to my mother, and why she left me. And that little boy who saved me. But I will never let those searches control me. We're going to find the answers we're looking for, Blake. But if we destroy ourselves in the process then what good are we?

Blake: You don't understand! I'm the only one who can do this!

Yang: No, you don't understand!

Yang turn's around to face Blake, her eyes crimson red as well her hair starting to glow

Yang: If Roman Torchwick walks through that door, what would you do!?

Blake: I'd fight him!

Yang:*pushes Blake* You'd lose!

Blake: I can stop him!

Blake throws her hand at Yang but it barely makes the girl flinch let alone hurt her

Yang: You can't even stop me!

Yang pushes Blake onto the table and the black haired faunus looks back at her teammate and gets up, lowering her head in solace when Yang goes in and hugs her

Yang: I'm not asking you to stop. Just please...get some rest. Not just for you. But for the people you care about.

Yang breaks away from Blake and walks over to the stairs leading out of the classroom

Yang: And if you feel like coming out tomorrow..*turns and winks* I'll save you a dance~

Blake takes a deep breath and sighs, leaving with Dante following her but he stops and looks back at the chalkboard and eyes the picture of the little boy Yang had drawn. An image popped in his mind but he shook it away from his thoughts and followed Blake down the hallway

Blake: Dante. What do you think? About what Yang said.

Dante: That you need to take it easy? Yeah cause you look terrible.

Blake:*scoffs*

Dante: But that's only because this means a lot to you and I can get behind that. Look, how about I do you a solid? I'll look into Torchwick while you get some rest and go to the dance.

Blake: You'd...do that for me?

Dante: Yeah. It's not like I got a date anyways so what's the point in going?

Dante smiles at Blake and patted her head and walks away from her

Blake: Wait!

Dante:*stop and turns*

Blake: Do you...want to go with me?

Dante: You serious? Me and you?

Blake:*smile and nods*

Dante: Well yeah! Hah! Hell yeah I'll go with you! Oh man I gotta get a suit! Shit! I'll be there! I promise!

Dante runs off to go buy a suit at the last minute. He whoops and jumps up and clicks his heels together making Blake laugh

Back at the auditorium, Emerald and Mercury walk up to Dominic in the middle of his task. He looks up at them and Emerald motions for them to leave and Dominic puts down what he was doing and leaves with them

Dominic: I assume this means everything is ready?

Emerald: Not yet, we're having trouble breaking the seal on the next pillar. So it's gonna take some time without your help.

Dominic: Hm. As expected. You don't understand what is in there. Pull any men out of there. My associate and I will deal with it personally tonight.

Emerald: By the way, how's your acting?

Dominic: I've been lying to these idiots for months that I'm their ally. And they're none the wiser.

Emerald: Then you can broaden your horizons for it when Cinder does her part of the plan.

Dominic: Ah yes. A tale of a boy who found love with a girl from another kingdom only for her to leave him at the school dance so suddenly! Oh how dreadful~!

Mercury rolls his eyes at Dominic's performance

Emerald: Save the theatrics for the dance.

Dominic: Right. Ahem.

Dante turns the corner and stops in front of his brother and he grabs him by the shoulders and starts shaking him

Dante: Dom guess what!!

Dominic:*shaking* Whaaaat!!?

Dante: I got a date for the dance!

Dominic:*shaking* Oh that's greeeat!

Dante: I know!! I gotta find a suit and learn how to tie a tie! I'll see ya later man!

Dante releases his brother from his grip and runs past him, beaming with excitement

Emerald: He seems...happy

Dominic: Guh....a little....too happy..

Dominic covers his mouth but it was useless and he threw up on the wall due to Dante giving him whiplash

Mercury: Hm. Maybe lay off the chocolate?

Dominic: What did I say about speaking?!

Outside, Sapphire was walking through the courtyard at night when he hears a voice and he hides behind a pillar and listens

Weiss: Neptune!

It was Weiss. She was going up to Neptune and she looked a little nervous as if she was struggling to get the words out to him

Neptune: Oh, uh, hey. What's up?

Weiss: Well..I know this is a little...unorthodox, but...I wanted to ask you something. Would you....like to accompany me to the dance tomorrow?

Sapphire sighs and walks away with his hands in his pockets, kicking away a few rocks as he walks into the night. Alone.

The night of the dance soon came and everyone was in the auditorium dancing with the one who they took to the dance. Yang was stood at a podium in front of the entrance to greet anyone who came in and she was about to greet another one as they stepped through the doors and Yang gasped and squealed as she saw her sister in a cute red dress with heels on

Yang: Oh, you look beautiful!

Ruby: Uh..

Ruby was shaking in her heels as she was not accustomed to walking around in them

Ruby: Can we have a serious talk about how Weiss fights in these?

Ruby stumbles over to Yang who was giggling at her sister

Yang: Wait here. I'll go bring you your date~! He's been waiting here since we started.

Yang walks off to go find Obito while Ruby fixes her dress and her hair, trying to look good for Obito seeing as he was her first date ever.

Dante was outside fiddling with his tie, cursing under his breath as he messes up trying to tie it

Dante: Doh! How is putting together a rifle easier than this?! Grr!

???: Here.

Dante turns around and sees Blake, well rested and in a stunning black dress. He was at a loss for words when it came to how she looked to him. It was like a goddess was standing in front of him

Blake: Let me help.

Blake helps Dante with his tie and she backs up to admire his suit

Blake: You're wearing a shirt finally.

Dante: I know it's awful. Shirtless was apart of my look!

Blake: Well, I think you look great either way.

Blake holds out her hand for Dante to take and he does, walking her to the auditorium

Dante: So are we like..going together?

Blake: Yes. But you already know my first dance is spoken for.

Dante: Haha yeah. You look good.

Blake: Thank you.

Inside the auditorium, everyone danced while waltz music played. Blake and Yang finished up the dance she had promised her and Dante came in for his turn and the two began to dance together.

Yang walked up and stood next to Weiss and they watched their teammate who was once so tired that she could barely keep her eyes open, now dancing and laughing too

Yang: I told you she would come.

Weiss: Mission accomplished.

Yang looks over to Obito and Ruby dancing together and she pulled out her scroll and takes a picture of them both smiling

Yang: Aww~ So cute~

Ruby: A-am I doing good?

Obito: I was about to ask you that too. Haha~ Dominic and Sapphire worked me every night until I could get the footwork right.

Flashback—

Dominic: You're stepping on my feet Obito!!

Obito: It's hard to walk in these dress shoes!! Why can't I wear my normal ones!

Sapphire: Because it's a formal dance! Not some nightclub! NOW WALTZ!! WALTZ OR ELSE YOU GET THE HOSE AGAIN!!

Obito: Not the hose! NOOOOO!!

Flashback End—

Obito's eye twitches slightly, having been traumatized by his teammates teaching. Ruby yelps as she almost falls to the floor but Obito catches her and pulls her close to him making the two lock eyes with each other. A red tint flows on both of their faces and they stand there for a few seconds staring into each others eyes but stop before anything else happens

Ruby: Th-thank you...

Obito: Y-yeah...Don't mention it. I'm gonna...get us some punch.

Ruby: Okay..

Obito walks over to the punch bowl and pours him and Ruby drinks and goes to her. He looks out and stares at the night sky smiling at how good his life is right now. His gaze then falls on someone outside who was hugging their knees to their chest. It takes a second for him to see who they were but he realizes it was Dominic. He places the cups on a table and runs outside and Ruby sees this and she stumbles over trying to go after him

Ruby: Ugh! Stupid lady stilts! Wait up!

Obito pushes the doors to the outside open and he walks over to his teammate and notices that he was crying

Obito: Dom what happened?

Dominic holds up his scroll and plays a message from Cinder

Cinder: 'Dominic...I'm sorry but this isn't going to work out. Goodbye.'

Obito looks down at Dominic and sees him shaking trying not to cry but tears were still escaping his eyes

Obito: Oh Dom...I'm so sorry..

Dominic:*sniffle* Just when life is finally going my way...I had a girlfriend...good grades..and now...I've lost another woman in my life that I loved..!

Ruby arrives soon after Obito had and sees Dominic on the floor crying

Ruby: Dom what happened!

Obito: He...just got dumped..

Ruby gasps and goes to comfort her friend with a hug

Dominic: She just used me...I thought she loved me...but she used me! Like I was some...thing!!

Dominic throws his scroll away and holds his head in his hands

Dominic: Why does everyone I love end up leaving me..? Why? My mother..and now my girlfriend. I'm just a joke!

Obito: No!

Dominic and Ruby look up at Obito who was looking down at Dominic with his brow furrowed and a look of determination on his face

Obito: You're not some thing Dominic! You're a person! You're my friend Dominic! We're your friends. And we'll always be here for you. Because we love you. Faults and all.

Dominic sniffles and looks at Obito and Ruby, his friends and he stands up to wipe his eyes and he smiles to them and they smile right back to him

Dominic: Thank you Obito..Ruby. You're both good kids.

Dominic pats the two on the head and smiles at them. He goes to pick up his scroll and puts it back in his pocket

Dominic: Thank you you two. For everything.

Obito: Hey, that's what friends are for.

Ruby: Yeah! We'll always be there for you!

Dominic: Yeah..thank you.

Dominic turns around and his smile fades and turns back into his trademark expression and he goes back inside and walks past everyone and goes outside of the auditorium and he begins to take off his suit

Dominic: Fools. I don't need their companionship. What I need is just out of my grasp. But soon it will be mine.

Dominic pulls out his scroll and messages Cinder that he was ready for her and she messaged him to meet at a rendezvous point she set up

Dominic: None of them can fathom how hard I've worked for this. For my bloody journey will soon come to an end..

Back inside the auditorium, Sapphire sat alone by himself with a glass of punch in his hand. Jaune then comes up and stands beside him also alone

Jaune: I see you found the punch bowl too.

Sapphire: Yeah..

Jaune: To the "socially awkward ".

Sapphire: Here here.

The two clink their glasses together and take a drink of their punch and sigh in unison

Jaune: I guess neither of us are cool enough to get with a girl like Weiss.

Sapphire: She probably doesn't even remember I exist. Y'all probably don't even know I'm here half the time.

Jaune: What are you talking about? I see you all the time! You're just..kinda really quiet. Like more quiet then Ren. Maybe...I dunno, talk a little more?

Sapphire: Is it that easy?

Jaune: Probably. Well, see ya.

Jaune walks off leaving Sapphire by himself until Obito walks up with Ruby. The two giggling with each other about something before they came up to him

Ruby: Hey Sapphire!

Sapphire: Ruby. Obito. How's the dance?

Obito: I think I should take a quote from Penny and say it's "sensational".

Ruby:*snicker* She would say that!

Sapphire: Well at least you guys are having fun together. I'm just not cool enough for Weiss like Neptune is.

Ruby: What are you talking about?

Sapphire: Well because he's recognizable, he somehow pulls off blue hair-

Obito: I think she means what are you talking about her coming with Neptune.

Ruby: Yeah, Weiss came alone.

Sapphire: What..?

Ruby:*points* Yeah

Sapphire looks over to where Ruby was pointing at and sees Weiss poking a bouquet of white flowers in a jar

Ruby: She said she had too much to focus on to worry about boys.

Sapphire stands up and downs the rest of his punch, handing his empty glass to Obito and walks towards Weiss

Ruby: You think she'll say yes?

Obito: We'll see.

Sapphire: Hey Weiss.

Weiss: Huh? Oh, Sapphire greetings. Enjoying the festivities?

Sapphire: Yeah it turned out pretty good. Hey uh, where's Neptune?

Weiss: He said he was too embarrassed about something and ran off.*sigh* I guess he was embarrassed about me...

Sapphire: What? No. He was probably embarrassed about...stomach problems or that he couldn't dance. In any case, he shouldn't have just up and abandoned you. I mean I'd never do that but hahaha I should stop talking...

Weiss: You'd never abandon me huh? Is that a promise you're willing to keep Sapphire?

Sapphire: Huh? Promise?

Weiss: Yes. Do you promise to never abandon me? Ever?

Sapphire: Uh..well if I can go to the bathroom by myself then yeah I promise.

Weiss smiles and extends out her hand for Sapphire

Weiss: Shall we?

Sapphire: We shall.

Sapphire takes Weiss' hand and she drags him over to the dance floor where they begin to dance with each other

Obito: Well at least she noticed him.

Ruby: Yeah.

Yang: Hey lovebirds!

Yang walks up to the pair waving while smiling at them

Ruby: Hey Yang.

Obito: Hey.

Yang: So, how's the date~? Going well I hope? You treating my baby sister right?

Obito: Hehe yeah I am. One of the things nobody had to teach me was to be nice to a girl I liked.

Yang: Good. Cause if I see one frown on her face, you're dead meat. And not just by me. But our dad AND uncle!

Ruby: Yang stop it! Obito isn't going to do anything that'll make me frown!

Obito: Yeah! I've liked Ruby since the day we met?

Ruby: You have?

Realizing what he just said, Obito yelps and becomes a blushing mess of stutters and repeating lines

Obito:*blush* W-well of course! I mean she-she's cute a-and nice! Sh-she has a beautiful smile and—and..

Ruby: Obito.

Obito: Y-yeah?

Ruby pecks Obito on the cheek and she giggles at him and looks at his response to what she just did

Obito: I-I-I-I....y-you just...holy crap!

Obito point's behind Ruby and they all turn around to see Jaune walking up to Pyrrha wearing a white dress

Yang: Huh, he actually did it. Wait what time is it!

Obito: Uh...11:30?

Yang: Crap! I have to get ready!

Ruby: For what?

Yang: Just you wait. It'll knock your little socks off!!

Yang runs through the crowd and goes to the stage where Sapphire and Dante were at setting up instruments

Dante: Hello?*taps the mic* Is this thing on?

The reverb from the microphone nearly deafens everyone at the dance which affected the faunus there even more due to their precise hearing

Dante: Sorry....we're team ODDS joined today by the lovely Yang Xiao Long.

Yang:*laughs and winks*

Sapphire: And we're about to play you all a song that you'll remember for the rest of your life. Dante, Yang. If you please.

Dante/Yang: LET'S ROCK BABY!!

The students and teachers all gather up in front of the stage as the trio begun the opening part of their song which started with cool electronic riffs from a keyboard Yang was on

Yang: I'll ensure the exile~

Suddenly the music picked up with Sapphire playing a heavy note on his guitar and Dante starting to accelerate the beat

Sapphire: The darkness of night falls around my soul an the hunter loses control

Yang/Sapphire: Gotta let it out—Gotta let it out! Gotta let it out—Gotta let it out!!

Sapphire: This demon inside has a hold of me. Clenching its power, trying to break free

Yang/Sapphire: Gotta let it out—Gotta let it out! Gotta let it out—Gotta let it out!!

Yang: Move fast baby—don't be slow! Step aside—reload—time to gooo! I can't seem to control all this—RAGE THAT'S INSIDE ME!

Yang whips her hair around to the beat of the music with it starting to glow and her eyes shine crimson red

Yang: Pullin' shots—aimin' dots— Yeah I don't miss! Branded by fire—born in the abyss! Red hot temper—yeah I can't resist! All this VENGEANCE INSIDE ME!!

Team JNPR moves into the center of the room and begins dancing in sync to the music with everyone cheering them on while Sapphire hops around the stage on one leg showing off his skills with the guitar

Up on the balcony overlooking the dance floor were Mercury and Emerald secretly calling Cinder

Emerald: It appears all the dancers have partners.

Cinder: How long do I have?

Mercury: We should be home by midnight, to be safe.

Outside, Cinder stood on a roof in a mask and her hair was a shade of grey. Dominic sat kneeling beside her

Cinder: Are you ready?

Dominic: Yes. It'll be easy to sneak past with everyone preoccupied. And the guards from Atlas are as stupid as they are numerous.

Cinder: Quite. But what about your disguise? I doubt a mask will suffice when you look at stunning without it~

Dominic: Observe.

With a snap of his fingers, Dominic glowed for a brief second and once the light faded, he was in completely new attire and with something to hide his face

Cinder: Oh my~

Dominic: You like?

Cinder: I do indeed love a man who knows how to dress~

Dominic: I am to impress.

Cinder: You've done more than impress me~

The two run across the roof as silently as they could as to not draw attention to themselves

Inside the auditorium, Ruby and Obito stood side by side together while they watched their friend's performance

Yang: All of these thoughts runnin' through my head! Arms on fire, veins burnin' red! Frustration is gettin' bigger! Bang! Bang! Bang! PULL MY DEVIL TRIGGER!

Obito: Your sister sure can sing!

Ruby: Yeah she can! Hehe-ow..!

Obito: What's wrong?

Ruby: Ugh it's these shoes! I hate them! I think I need to go outside and sit down.

Obito: I'll come with you! It's kinda hot in here anyway.

The couple walks out of the auditorium and sat on a bench together

Obito: Are you..having a good time?

Ruby: Yeah. Even with the swollen feet, this night has been a blast with you.

Obito: Really?!

Ruby: Yeah. It's fun being with you. I mean! Being here..at the dance..with you! Doh!

Ruby covers her face which was red with embarrassment from what she just said

Obito: You..like spending time with me?

Ruby: Yeah. I do. I always have more fun when you and your team is around.

Their hands touch slightly and they look down and then back at each other. Hearts pounding, they begin to move closer to each other with their lips about to touch when Obito leans to the side and sees Cinder and Dominic running across a rooftop

Obito: What the..

Ruby: Huh? What's wrong?

Obito: Something's wrong.

Obito grabs Ruby's hand and he brings her with him to follow the mysterious individuals

Cinder knelt behind a pillar outside of a tower where a soldier stood guard. She then dashes past him which he notices and slowly creeps forward raising his weapon; only for Dominic to appear behind him and starts choking the guard out. The guard was knocked out by suffocating and the he fell limp, dropping his gun. Dominic then hid his body and his gun in the bushes outside of the tower and he and Cinder made their way inside of the tower

Once inside, they enter a room filled with guards and one walks in front of them telling them that they were in a restricted area

Cinder: Be a dear and take care of our friends here my dear.

Dominic:*bows*

Dominic zips past the guard in front of them and shoulder checks him into the wall prompting the other guards to rush in

Guard: Freeze!

Another guard roars as he runs at Dominic with a baton but he sidesteps the guard and slams his sword on his neck, knocking him out

More guards rush Dominic and he uses his sword at a blunt object and smacks the guards away with his strength. Sending them flying into walls and on railings but they were still alive.

Cinder: Hm, I would have thought you would kill them.

Dominic: Their deaths would cause unrest for us in the future. Besides, they're just following orders.

Cinder walks over to the elevator and presses the button to call it down and when the doors open, two guards were standing there talking to each other

Guard: Hey, do you know what the wifi password is?

They turn and face Cinder and Dominic seeing that the guards down there have been taken out

Dominic: It's "Beacon" but you replace the e with a 3 and a pound symbol at the end.

Guard: O-oh...thanks...

Dominic raised his foot up and smirked at the guards

Dominic: Don't mention it~ HYAH!!

Dominic kicks one guard in the face, knocking him out while Cinder elbows the other and the two walk into the elevator and take it straight to the top of the tower

Ruby and Obito walked up to the tower, following the woman and man had ran to and they saw the unconscious guard and immediately called their lockers to them and took out their weapons from them

The two partners in crime, exit the elevator and walk over to a computer console where Cinder begins hacking into the it

Emerald: 'A party guest is leaving'

Cinder:*sigh* Who?

Back inside the auditorium, Mercury and Emerald were playing their parts as students. Mercury then turns himself to Emerald can see who was leaving the dance seeing that it was General Ironwood of the Atlas military

Emerald: Ironwood.

Mercury: I guess the generals had enough fun for tonight. Should we intervene?

The computer screen shows the image of a queen chess piece and the others in the room subsequently have the same image plastered on the screens

Cinder: No. We're done here.

Cinder gets up and walks to the elevator with Dominic but the doors slide open and they hide before who was in it could see them

Obito and Ruby stepped out of the elevator and carefully scanned the room for anyone. Ruby stumbles over herself and frowns at not being able to wear her regular clothes

Ruby: Is anyone there?

She begins to walk forward towards the console that Cinder and Dominic were hiding behind

Ruby: Hello?

Obito:*sniffs* Over there!

Obito points at the console the pair were hiding behind. The two smirk and slowly stand up together and look at the young couple

Ruby: You know, this isn't a masquerade party. So why don't you take off that-

Cinder pulls out a cartridge of dust that she took from one of the guards and the dust turns into sharp spikes that she flings at Ruby who spins her weapon in front of her. Ruby then points her scythe down and fired shots at Cinder who blocks them using her semblance in front of her hand

Obito throws a shuriken at Dominic who leans out of the way of the throwing weapon and Obito ran into a lunging jump kick that Dominic easily sidestep's making him crash into one of the desks in the room

Dominic chuckles as Obito picks himself up and get into a fighting stance

Obito: Why the bandages? You so ugly you gotta cover yourself before you leave your house!

Dominic puts one arm behind his back and motions for Obito to attack him and out of anger for being underestimated, he rushes Dominic and starts throwing punches and kicks that were effortlessly blocked by his disguised teammate. Dominic then spins around Obito and smacks him in the back and sends him tumbling to the floor

Ruby: Obito!

Dominic joins Cinder and the two smirk as they have numbers over her. Just then, the elevator doors open and the two see that General Ironwood was inside and they immediately make their escape leaving Ruby and the unconscious Obito with Ironwood.

Both of them make their way to the auditorium and change into their civilian attire; with Cinder glowing yellow and changing into a beautiful black dress and Dominic tears off the bandages on his face and transforms his suit back to what he was wearing before. They then enter the dance hall and go their separate ways. A group of guards entered the auditorium chasing them down but since they changed clothes, they were next to impossible to find in the crowd of students

Cinder tapped Emerald on the shoulder and he asks if she could cut into her and Mercury dance and she agrees and her and Mercury begin dancing

Mercury: How's he taking the break up?

Cinder: Oh it's destroying him~ In any case, those fools will be scratching their heads long after we're finished with what we came for.

Mercury: So what now?

Cinder: Enjoy the rest of the night. I know I will~

Dominic walks through a crowd of people and finds his friends surrounded by cheering fans due to their performance

Dante: Yo! Dom! Where ya been dude!

Dominic: Oh I've been around. I say, that was an impressive performance you all had.

Yang: Yeah it was! Bang! Bang! Bang! Pull my Devil trigger! By the way, what does that mean? Pull my Devil trigger.

Sapphire: Yeah what's up with that?

Dante: Oh it's just something I thought sounded cool. And I use guns to hunt devils so...pull my Devil trigger. Eh?

Yang: O..Kay. Hey Dominic, where's your girlfriend at? Isn't she here?

Dominic sighs and points over to Cinder dancing with Mercury; them both smiling into each other's eyes

Sapphire: Damn. I'm sorry Dom.

Dante: That hurts dude. Come on, what say we go hit the dance floor? Show off your sick moves to all the ladies~?

Dominic: Oh I don't know about that..

Yang: Ah ah ah Dom. This is a dance party. And if you're not dancing, then it isn't a party. C'mon!

Yang grabs Dominic by his wrist and drags him over to the dance floor and she begins dancing with him

Dominic: Y-Yang I don't know if now is the right-

Yang: Dom. You'll never get over her if you're stuck living in the now. Move on towards what's ahead of you.

Dominic looks at Yang and then down at her hands which were holding onto his. He then smiles and spins her around and brings her closer to him

Yang: Oh my! Prrr~

Dominic: Thank you Yang. I...don't know what I'd do with you and everyone else in my life.

Yang hugs Dominic and the two stand there in the middle of the dance floor

Yang: I can't explain it; but I feel safe when I'm around you. Is that weird? I'm sorry.

Dominic: No no it's okay. Do I really come off as some sort of protector?

Yang: Yeah, kinda? I don't know, it's this feeling I have.

Dominic: Didn't I beat you into a pulp when we first met?

Yang: Yeah. I still haven't gotten you back for that ya know so watch out! I may step on your foot "on accident"~

Dominic:*chuckle* Oh no~

Dante: You know I thought I wasn't really gonna like coming here, but after living here all this time...I think I made the right call.

Sapphire: Yeah. Though you and your brother are completely irresponsible and you're probably demons, you two and Obito are my first real friends. Thank you.

Dante: Ah don't mention it.

Weiss: Sapphire!

Sapphire looks over to Weiss who waved at him making the teen stand up and elbow Dante in a playful manner and goes off with Weiss to dance with her

Dante: Hehe~

Dante looks around and spots Blake sitting at a table with Sun and goes over to them

Sun: So then I said, don't make me go ape on you!

Blake: Ahahahaha!

Dante: Yo!

Sun: Yo! Dante! What's up man?

Sun and Dante bro hug each other and sat down with Blake in between them

Blake: You were really good up there.

Sun: Good? They were awesome!

Dante: Ah it was nothing! You should see me play the guitar.

Sun: That is like to see!

Blake: Me too.

Dante: Hah. One day, so how've you two been?

Sun: I'm wearing a tie so, awful.

Blake: You look good in a tie Sun.

Sun: Really? You think so?

Dante: Yeah you look like the personification of a mullet. Except you're mostly party than business.

Sun: Ha!

Dante: Oh! Hey guys, bad news.

Blake: What happened?

Dante: Dom got dumped by his girl. Tonight!

Sun: What! Man that's cold! Is he alright?

Dante: I dunno, you tell me.

Dante smirks and points behind him to Yang and Dominic dancing together with smiles on their faces

Blake: He looks happier.

Dante: Yeah. Tonight's the most he's smiled in...wow in forever.

Blake: That just means this moment will always stay with him in his heart.

Timeskip—

Team ODDS and Team RWBY, minus Obito and Ruby, walk through the halls to their dorms after the dance had ended

Dante: Welp! Back to the grind tomorrow!

Sapphire: Eyup. But at least we had some fun before we received our first missions.

Weiss: I agree. Tonight was very fun.

Weiss and Sapphire's hands bush up against each other, making the heiress blush

Blake: Has anyone seen Ruby? Or Obito?

Dante: Yeah, where are they?

Sapphire: Hopefully in bed. It's late.

Dominic: They're probably spending some time together. Leave them be. It's love.

Dante: And what do you know about love?

Dominic: More than you know..

Yang opens the door to their dorm and steps inside. Everyone present heard her gasp and they all looked inside and saw Obito with an ice pack on his head and scratches on his face with Ruby by his side

Yang: What happened to you two?!

Sapphire: Obito!

Sapphire went over to Obito and checked him for any other injuries

Ruby: We saw someone sneaking around and we tried to stop them from doing something bad. The guy with bandages on his face knocked Obito out and he and a girl were gonna get me when General Ironwood saved us.

Blake: What did they look like?

Obito: A woman...in black...a man...with a sword...katana..

Dominic: Katana?

Weiss: Are they looking for these vagrants right now?

Ruby: They said they would but we don't know if they're still here.

Dante: Don't worry, they'll find them.

Obito: Dom..his sword...it looked like yours..

Dominic gasped and ran over to his teams dorm and frantically searched for the Yamato

Dominic: Where is it?! God dammit!

Dante soon comes in and helps his brother in looking for his weapon

Dante: He stole it! Dom!

Dominic: I know! Dammit!!

Dante looks over at the desk facing the window and sees that his amulet that he had left there was gone. He slams his fists on the desk and shouts out in rage.

Sapphire: Is it gone?

Dante: That's not the only thing he took...he stole my mothers amulet..

Dominic: Mine too..

Sapphire: I'll tell the girls. We'll search for this bastard.

Dante: No. This is our fight.

Dominic: Stay out of this. All of you.

The twins throw open the closet door and put on their coats and go over to the door but Sapphire blocked their path

Dante: Move.

Sapphire: No.

Dominic: Stand aside or die!

Sapphire: I'm not letting either of you go anywhere until you calm down!

Dante: That bastard had the only thing we have left of our mother Sapphire! How can we not be angry?!

Sapphire: I'm angry too! But we can't go in guns blazing after this guy! You're gonna get yourselves killed!

Dominic: We said..move.

Sapphire puts his hand into a fist and creates a blade made of ice that forms around his arm

Sapphire: Stand down. I don't want to fight you both. I want to help.

Dante:*sigh* Okay...fine.

Dante puts away his guns on his back and Dominic leans against the wall and rubs his eyes

Sapphire: Now, let's calm down and go get this son of a bitch.

Yang: We'll help too.

The trio leans out of their doorway and sees that the rest of Team RWBY had changed into their combat uniforms

Weiss: You helped us so much this year, this time we help you.

Dante: Alright. Let's rock.

Yang: Ruby stay here with Obito.

Ruby:*nod* Okay. Please be careful you guys.

Obito: And...give him one for me..

Dominic:*nods*

Both teams walk outside of Beacon and begin their search for the man with bandages on his face, not knowing that he was standing with them the entire time as Dominic. He separates himself from the group and breathes a heavy sigh and his body begins to glow. His shadow begins to rise up from the ground and take the form of the man with the bandages on his face. A copy of Dominic made to his specifications.

Dominic: You are Gilver.

Gilver: I...am Gilver..

Dominic holds up both his and Dante's amulets and gives them to Gilver. He then summons Yamato to his hand and gave it to his double.

Dominic: You know what to do.

Gilver grins and Dominic turns around and opens his arms and takes in a sharp breath as Gilver runs Yamato through his chest

Dominic: GAAAAAH!!

Everyone in the group hears his screams and they rush over to his location and they are shocked at what they saw

Dante: YOU!

Gilver holds out both amulets and jingles them around to taunt Dante

Gilver: Looking for these~?

Yang: Let him go!!

Yang runs over towards Gilver, cocking her fists back ready to fight him. Gilver pulls Yamato out of Dominic and kicks him over to her, causing her to stop and catch her friend giving him time to jump up to a building and run across its roof

Sapphire: Come back here!!

Sapphire launches himself up to the roof using an ice glacier that sprang from that ground and he runs after Gilver. He creates two ice shuriken and throws them at Gilver who turns around and blocks the first one and he flips over the second one

Gilver then throws a wave of energy at Sapphire but he rolls to the side, dodging the attack and it hits a building in the distance

Dante pulls out Ebony and fires a shot at Gilver but he dodged that as well did he dodge any other things shot at him

Blake: He's so agile! We can't hit him!

Dante: Oh I'm gonna..

Dante pulls out Rebellion and runs up the side of the building across from the one Gilver was standing on and jumped over to him. Dante lands in front of Gilver and the two lock eyes for a second before Dante runs at Gilver shouting

Dante: EEEHAAAA!!

Both Dante and Gilver start sword fighting one another. Sapphire jumps into the air with an ice hammer in his hands that he brings down on Gilver but the theif backflips away from Sapphire, causing him to miss his attack.

Dante: RRRRAAAH!!

Dante tackles Gilver off the building and they hit the ground hard enough to make a small impact crater where they landed

Dante:*groan*

Gilver grabs Dante by the hair and slams his forehead into him, dazing Dante and letting Gilver get up and get in a fighting stance

The group joins Dante and they all get in their own stances ready to face down Gilver.

Weiss creates a row of glyphs under her and Blake and the two dash forward at Gilver at blazing speeds. Gilver dodges the girls but was met with a hard punch to the face from Yang that tears his bandages off.

On the floor, Gilver begins to laugh and he sits up letting everyone see his face and they stop dead in their tracks upon seeing his face was also Dominic's

Dominic: What...are you?

Gilver: Hyahahaha!! My dark master hand crafted me to be just like you in every way! In fact, I know everything about you. Which essentially makes ME your brother!!

Dominic: Who made you?!

Gilver: Isn't it obvious?

Dante: No...it can't be.

Gilver stands up still laughing as he slicks his hair back and looks at the group of teenagers

Gilver: Oh tonight was so entertaining. But I'm just getting warmed up!!

Gilver puts on both amulets and brings his free hand forward and creates a summon sword in his hand to use as a second weapon

Gilver: DIE!!!

Gilver leaps forward and begins spinning in the air and uses both weapons in his hands as a drill attack that nearly kills Weiss if not for Sapphire pulling her out of the way. Blake tries to shoot at Gilver but the bullets bounce off of him in his current state

Dante: Try this then!!

Dante throws a wave of energy at Gilver and it connects, knocking him out of his drill attack and sending him flying away

Gilver: Hrgh..!

Gilver hits the ground and the doppelganger jumps to his feet and creates another sword to use. Dominic creates his own sword and rushes at Gilver with Dante. The three of them fight closely together which doesn't allow anyone to shoot Gilver in fear they'd hit one of the twins

Blake: I can't get a clear shot!

Sapphire: Let me try something..

Sapphire puts away his weapon and creates two small scythes made of ice in his hands. He throws both weapons at the ground near the three boys and the ground started to become covered in a sheet of ice which makes it harder for them to stand on and they starts slipping around as they try to fight each other

Dante slips and falls on his back while Gilver and Dominic kneel down and look at each other, making eye contact with one another before going back to fighting

Yang runs in and goes to drop kick Gilver but he hears her coming and he kicks Dominic away and catches Yangs feet and throws her away from him.

Gilver: Foolish girl! You have no place in fighting the likes of me!

Gilver turns and cartwheels off the ice and lands in front of Yang. The double turns around and slams Yamato on the floor creating a shockwave that knocks everyone off their feet. Turning back around to Yang, he raises Yamato above his head ready to deliver the final blow to her. His eyes glowing a devilish red that stare into her own. The memory of her and Ruby being attacked by those Grimm from long ago flashes back inside of her mind and just like back then, she couldn't utter a cry for help from her lips

Gilver brings down Yamato and blood splatters on the floor, only it wasn't Yangs blood. In front of her stood Dominic who took the blow for her. He falls to the floor beside Yang and she looks at him finally realizing something she's been wonder for so long. Who was the boy who saved her and Ruby that day? She never knew the answer until right now. That boy was right beside her this whole time and she never knew it.

Gilver: What? Hahaha! He could have attacked me and instead he chose to save you! What a fool! Hahahaha!

Multiple gunshots ran out causing Gilver to dodge to the side saving himself from getting shot by everyone who had firearm

Dante: Don't laugh at my brother..

Gilver: Insolent brats! I'll carve out your hearts!!

Gilver ran towards the rest of the group leaving Yang with Dominic beside her

Yang: Dominic...it's you..you were that boy who saved us...why didn't...why didn't you say anything?

Gilver parried strikes from the group without signs of slowing down. He then sheathed the Yamato and threw out a wide wave of energy at the group but thanks to Sapphire creating a wall of ice, the group was safe

The wall was then cut down by Gilver with one slash and he growls like a beast at the group

Gilver: This ends now!

Sapphire creates two short swords in his hands and jumps over the remains of the wall and attacks Gilver one on one. The two showing excellent prowess in acrobatics as they flip and cartwheel with their slices and dodges. Sapphire then gets a slice on Gilvers arm and he backs away holdings his arm in pain

Sapphire: He can't regenerate...He can't regenerate!! Keep hitting him!

Gilver: RAAAAHH!!

Gilver jumps at Sapphire in a mad frenzy while everyone tries to gang up on him except Yang who was still in shock at the notion that Dominic was her savior from years ago

Yang: Dominic! Please I need to know! Why did you run from us that day! You could have stayed with us! We would have helped you! I've waited for years to thank you..and now..I don't know what to say..

Yang sniffles and wipes her eyes of tears. She turns to look at the battle still going on with Gilver still fighting even though he had cuts and bruises on his body

Yang: But I know what to do to repay you..

Yang gets up and runs into the battlefield. Her mind still asking herself why Dominic never told her who he was before. But that didn't matter right now, all that matters is doing something to repay him for what he did for her and Ruby all those years ago.

Yang: Blake!!

Blake sees Yang running over to them and sees that her hand was raised up and she nods at her teammates suggestion and throws her sword while she held onto the rope that was connected to it. Yang catches Blake's sword and shouts causing Gilver to turn around to attack her; only to be met with Yang driving Blake's sword into his chest. She screams and picks him up and throws him into the air and Blake yanks on her weapon and pulls Gilver out of the air and slams him into the ground

Gilver:*pained grunts*

Gilver tries to get up but he was too weak to pick himself up so he turns over and lays there bleeding out on the floor

Gilver:*raspy breathing*

Sapphire: Nice one Yang.

Yang: It's not over yet.

Yang goes over to Gilver and tears the amulets from him. She then looks down at him and scowls

Yang: You don't deserve to wear his face..

Dante walks up to Gilver and kneels down to him

Dante: Tell your master he's next.

Dante shoots Gilver in the head, killing him. Weiss covers her mouth trying not to vomit from the brutal execution she just witnessed Dante do.

Sapphire: What master are you talking about Dante?

Dante: It's better if you don't know. At least not right now...

Blake looks over and Dante and sees him clutching his amulet to his chest

Dominic:*cough*

Everyone goes over to Dominic who picked himself up and was rubbing his chest

Dominic: Ow..

Yang embraces Dominic in a hug that confuses him greatly

Dominic: Uh, Yang?

Yang: ....

Sapphire: Remnant to Yang!

Yang: Huh! Oh! Sorry! I was just..happy that you're okay Dom.

Dominic: Uh, thank you Yang.

Yang pulls away and hands Dominic his amulet while she tries to hide her blush. Dominic takes his amulet and puts it around his neck, it felt like euphoria putting it back on. Like he just regained a piece of himself.

Dante: Let's get back to bed.

Weiss: Blech after what I just saw...I don't think I could sleep.

Sapphire: We could always watch a movie together. One big slumber party.

Blake: Right before we have our first missions?

Dominic: I'd say we deserve some more fun after all...of this.

Dominic motions to the dead corpse that was on the ground that had his face and powers

Blake: What are we going to do about him?

Suddenly Gilver began to loose all color in his skin and clothing and he begins to crack until he shatters like glass

Dante: Guess they don't make 'em sturdy enough to handle an asswhooping from Yang.

The group laughs at Dante's comment and they all walk back to Beacon with a feeling of relief that everything is coming up right for them. Dominic turns around to where Gilver was laying and smirks, his eyes flashing red for a split second before he resumes walking with his friends

Back at Team RWBY's dorm, everyone from both teams were sat down beside one another watching a movie together. One last bit of relaxation before they have to go on their first missions

Ruby:*lays her head on Obito's shoulder*

Weiss:*hugs Sapphires arm*

Blake:*laying on Dante's lap*

Yang:*looking at Dominic*
