Chapter Nine

Jesse's POV
I stared at the clown feeling anger wash over me. A game of life or death? That was crazy! But then again...they were all crazy. However that did not stop me from speaking my mind.

"You're fucking crazy. All of you. This clown shit...has to stop like now! I want to go home and bury my girlfriend--who you killed by the way-- and mourn with her family."

Hunter studied me for several moments before saying, "That isn't possible. And let's be honest...she wasn't going to be your girlfriend much longer, was she?"

I frowned at him and thought, what is he talking about?

"Oh yeah. I know about your kiss with Anthony here." Hunter added smiling smugly.

I glanced at Anthony briefly and saw him look at me before turning to glare at Hunter, his hands balling into fists.

"What happened between Jesse and I, is not your fucking business." Anthony hissed.

Hunter smirked at him and raised a hand to my face. I flinched away but when he rested his hand on my cheek I froze. He stroked the side of my face and I shivered under his touch.

"You like that?" Hunter whispered.

I shook my head and stepped back away from him. He advanced forward and I walked backwards trying to get away from him. My back hit the wall and Hunter stopped a couple feet away....and burst out laughing.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" I demanded.

"Nothing. Your reaction was hilarious." Hunter said.

"You're insane." I say looking at him horrified.

"I prefer the term intelligent sociopath." Hunter said.

I glared at him unsure of what I should say next. Turns out I didn't have to say anything. Hunter moved forward some more and stood over me. I stared up into his face, not wanting him to know that I was scared.

"There's so many things I can do to make your life hell, Jesse. But I won't do it." Hunter says with a sadistic smile.

I wanted so badly to punch him in the face but I knew that would only result in it ending with me being tortured again and I didn't want to do that. Hunter stood over me though unmoving and staring down at me, his face was getting a little too close to mine and I began to panic.

Hunter raised a knife to my hip and began tracing it up my side, causing my eyes to widen as I fought to hold in a whimper. He dug it into my side a bit, drawing blood and I hissed in pain.

"That is only just a taste of what could happen to you." Hunter whispered and stepped back. He waved to his henchmen and walked out the room, leaving me standing against the wall, blood running down my side and staining my shirt.

I had to get out of here.
