( Kodie )

It was now half time and we were in the lead with 17 to 14. I shot about 8 of those and Niyah shot about 6 of those and London shot the last 3 of those. These Alligators were hard to beat. They've never been beaten , but we gone change that.

Anyways , I was sitting in between London and Niyah and London was happy as hell.

London: Omg! She's about to perform!

Me: What songs are they performing to?

London: You know the movie Descendants?

Niyah/Me: Yeah.

London: The class is gonna perform that one together , then Zoe , Hazel and Destiny will be performing Hit The Quan and then her and Destiny is doing End Of Time.

Niyah: Damn. I gotta see this. Alayna gone be performing along with Katrina. This shit gonna be funny as hell cause ain't no spotlight big enough for the both of them.

I laughed and gave her dap. The lights dimmed and the announcer started talking again.

Announcer: It is now half time folks and we have the dancing Porcupines performing tonight. Keep your eye on Zoe Matthews and Alayna Johnson because they are in competition for captain.

Me: Zoe's totally gonna win that.

London/Niyah: You know it.

The dancers came running out and my eyes instantly landed on Zoe who was one of the last few to come out. They got in position and the music came on. In the beginning for about a few seconds , Zoe was in the middle with Katrina , Hazel and Alayna before they all moved up front and the rest of the class stayed in the back. I never looked away from Zoe.

The song went off and the class went off leaving just Hazel , Zoe and Destiny. Zoe was in the back on the right and Hazel was in the back on the left and Destiny was in the front. Hit the Quan started playing and this time I looked at all of them. They were all really good.

The song ended and Destiny went off. A remix of End Of Time started playing and let's just say I'm glad they wasn't wearing skirts or dresses , but it wasn't a hoe kind of dance.

The song ended and Hazel and Zoe hugged laughing and Hazel went off.

People clapped and cheered while Zoe stood there heavy panting and wiped her forehead as Alayna came up. The announcer started talking again.

Announcer: Hopefully you kept an eye on Matthews and Johnson cause now it's time to ask you guys who you will cheer to be captain!

More cheers came in , even I was cheering.

Announcer: If you want Alayna Johnson to become captain , make some noise!

Some noise came in. Zoe clapped and cheered for Alayna who was standing there looking lost. The noise maker machine thingy had almost full but you could see where it wasn't all the way full.

Announcer: Now if you want Zoe Matthews to become captain make some noise.

The entire basketball team cheered and most of the audience. Zoe smiled and did a few flips and waves to the crowd. The noise maker was filled was up to the top.

Announcer: And we have it folks! Zoe Matthews is your captain!

London: That's my bitch! That's my best friend!

You could see Zoe laughing as she heard what London's loud ass said. Cheers came and coach had given me a mike. I sighed and got up.

I had made it a little bit off the court before the announcer started talking again.

Announcer: Before we resume the game , we have a word from Kodie. Let's see what she has to say.

I continued walking off the court but stopped when I heard my name. I turned around and Kodie was standing in the middle of the court. I looked at her and faced my body towards her , deciding to hear her out.

Kodie: Zoe , I'm sorry.

I slowly walked towards her.

Kodie: I know I didn't do anything wrong , but I'm saying sorry for what my family did. It was wrong as hell. My mom knows I like you and she pulled that shit because of my dumb ass step sister. By the way , I never asked her to hang out with me , but even if I did , I would've totally blew her off.

I laughed a bit and stopped in front of her.

Kodie: Zoe. I really like you and I want to be with you.

Me: Kodie , what about your mom and step sister. They hate me.

Kodie: Their not in this. It's just me and you.

Me: Kodie-

Kodie: Will you be my girlfriend , Zoe?

Me: Kodie , what about your mom and step sister.

Kodie: Like I said , their not in this. It's just me and you.

I looked at her. Not talking. Just looking.

London blurted out.

London: Say yes fool!

I laughed and Kodie did too.

??: Say yes honey!

I turned around and saw my dad in the bleachers. I can't believe he actually came.

I smiled and turned back to Kodie.

Me: Yeah. I'll be your girlfriend.

She smiled and grabbed my face kissing me. People awed and I blushed.

Me: Now get😅 your sweaty self off me and go win that game. Go porcupines!

Everyone cheered and I went off and up the bleachers to where my dad was.

Me: Dad. You actually came.

Dad: I'm not leaving out your life no more. I'm here for good.

Me: Promise?

Dad: Pinky.

We connected pinkies and hugged.

Dad: I love you , okay Zoe?

Me: I love you too daddy.

Dad: I also believe you have a father dance to come to with me.

I laughed.

Me: I'd be glad to daddy.

Dad: Good.

Me: I'll see you after?

Dad: Of course.

He kissed my forehead and I went back down to where the rest of the dancers were. Katrina and Alayna looked salty but everybody congratulated me.

The game ended and we won 26-24. It was a very close call. I was walking back to the dance room with Hazel.

Hazel: You did good and congratulations again.

I smiled.

Me: Thanks and so did you.

Hazel: Thanks. I'll see you tomorrow.

Me: Okay.

She smiled and grabbed her bag walking out the dance room. I looked at my self in the mirror before grabbing my bag and walking out.

??: Zo!

I looked behind me and saw Cloe.

Me: Hey mutt. Did the plan work?

Cloe: Hell no. Neither one of them saw each other.

Me: Damn it. We gotta do something.

Cloe: Right.

Me: Oh I got it!

Cloe: What?

Me: So I will walk up to Kodie to congratulate her and give her a kiss , have mom and Reginald follow , but don't say where we're going.

Cloe: Okay.

We ran into mom and him actually.

Mom: There you girls are. You ready to go?

Me: Yeah. Im just gonna go and do something real quick.

Mom: Okay. We'll be waiting by the car.

Me / Cloe: NO!

Mom: Why?

Cloe: She forgot where we parked.

Mom: Cloe , you can stay with her.

Me: She forgot too.

Mom: Okay. Follow Zoe I guess.

Me and Cloe smirked. We went to the gym and saw Kodie and her family.

Me: Kodie!

She turned around and I ran and jumped on her. She laughed and held me.

Me: Congratulations baby.

Kodie: Why thank you and con-

Ms. Williams: Reginald!? What are you doing with that lady!?

He jumped and murmured.

Mom: This lady has a name.

Ms. Williams: Well , I don't care very much for it.

Me: You two cut it out!

They didn't say another word. I got down off Kodie. I went over to Reginald and punched him dead in the nose hearing a crunch.

Me: How dare you ever in your pathetic life disrespect these ladies!? Their so nice and you play them like that!?

Ms. Williams: Zoe you knew?

Me: Not like that , but kinda. When my mom introduced me and my sister Cloe to him , I instantly knew I heard that name before and what he looked like , but I didn't know from where. My mom thought I was lying but London knew it too. London and I knew him but we didn't know where from and it suddenly came to me tonight when I saw a lip stick stain on his jacket. So yeah.

Mom turned to Reginald with tears in her eyes.

Mom: I trusted you! I let you around my kids! Who knows what you could've done to them if you did this to me.

Cloe looked down and I looked down at her.

Me: Cloe , when mom said that , you looked down , did he do something to you?

Cloe: He came in to come into my bed room one night.

Me: Did he touch you?

Cloe: He just tried to kiss on my neck but I think you had gotten up or something cause he ran out looking very scared.

Kodies mom kicked Reginald in his balls and he fell down coughing

Ms. Williams: You sick fuck!

Kodie grabbed him by his shirt and pulled him up off the floor only to punch him in the jaw so hard.

Mom: Cloe I'm so sorry.

Cloe: It's okay. After that I've been sleeping in Zoe's room.

Me: You have?

Cloe: Yeah , but I leave early. If you find a gun in there. That's not mine.

She grinned and I laughed.

Kodies Mom: Kodie , I'm sorry I didn't listen to you and I'm sorry for everything I did.

Kodie: It's okay mom.

Ms. Williams: I love you so much.

Kodie: I love you too.

They hugged.

Mom: Wait.

Ms. Williams: What?

Mom: I know you from somewhere.

Ms. Williams: Yeah. You kinda look familiar too.

They looked each other up and down and mom gasped.

Mom: Vivian!?

Ms. Williams: Julia!?

They hugged.

Cloe: So what are we gonna do with that doof?

Mom: Reginald , you can come by in the morning. All your shit will be sitting outside.

Ms. Williams: Same here. Naomi , your staying with your pathetic dad.

They walked off and Cloe followed them. Kodie took my bag and wrapped an arm around my shoulder.

Kodie: Come on baby.

I wrapped my arm around her stomach and we walked out.
