Wait, WHAT HAPPENS? Confusion
Of course, this only lasted for a week and a half. On Wednesday of the week Adrien was allowed back to school, Nathaniel finally approached me. I was running away every time Alya, Marinette, Nino, or Adrien even looked at me like they were going to come. They had been texting me, but to no avail.
"Hey, are you alright?"
I nodded. "I'm fine," it was chemistry and sitting next to each other, we were naturally lab partners.
"No, you aren't. Last week you came with a ball of energy. What happened since then? Did, did someone hurt you?" I knew it was stupid, pathetic. To even be upset by this point. Adrien is back, but I wasn't able to do anything to speed it up and I had just made a fool of myself in front of his father.
"I tried to get Adrien to come back on Tuesday by going to his father."
"Oooh. Yeah, last time Nino got akumatized by trying to do that." He shuddered. "I had to dance." I smiled, I had missed talking to someone. The bell rang, and Nathaniel convinced me to go with him to the arts room. When we got in, I saw Chloe talking to Alix.
"Ugh! We don't want to see your selfies!" The young girl with pink her exclaimed.
"Hey," I jogged to be in the middle of the two girls. "Chloe, right? Alix? Why are you both fighting?"
"Ugh. And who are you?" Chloe looked at me like I was a pile of garbage.
"A person who thinks you are worth their kindness. Alix, she brought what she considers art, so she should be welcome. Art is what it is the it's creator, so you should respect the way Chloe expresses herself. It doesn't matter if you don't agree with it." She rolled her eyes and just walked away.
"Well, you might not be completely useless."
"Uh," I turned towards Chloe. "What?"
"Sabrina, you're fired!" The girl behind her ran out of the room, crying. I, was still very confused. Chloe looked at me like she had a plan.
"You're hired to replace Sabrina as my slave."
"What? No, I was just being nice-"
"Sam! Come here!" I turned to Nathaniel, who shot me a smile to add to his worried look. He was sitting with a boy with black hair that hung in his face. I turned to Chloe and walked backwards slowly.
"Thanks, but I have to-" I ran into Marinette, who ended up dropping a bucket of paint. "I am so sorry!" I stood up, and I felt someone hug me from behind. "Ah!" I was swatting the hands around my shoulders. "Get-"
"It's Alya, girl! Relax!" I stopped attacking the figure, and Nino, Alya, and Adrien came from behind me. I looked at Adrien, then remembering his father's threat, I looked away.
He grabbed my arm, which made me feel no better. "Hey, are you mad at me?" He was sweet, and I looked into his bright green eyes.
I took my arm away and walked toward Nathaniel and the other boy, Marc. Nathaniel stood up, giving me his seat. "You should tell Adrien what happened."
I shook my head. "No, I don't want him to be mad at his father," on that note, I felt something crash on my body, pushing me down to the floor, the person holding my arms down, holding my legs down, and I felt a pair of arms on my back. "What the hell is wrong with you people?" I asked as Marinette and Adrien were standing in front of me, Marinette smiling at Adrien who seemed oblivious.
"What happened? Did I do-"
"Call your minions off!" I half laughed, half spoke.
"Not until you tell me," he was genuinely concerned.
"Your father threatened to call the police if he ever found out I was speaking to you or even hanging out around you."
I felt the hands release, and I sat up to see Nino farther away, then Alya, and Nathaniel was sitting right next to me. He must have been the one to hold my hands down. Adrien held his hand out, but I ignored him and got up myself.
"Thanks, but I can stand up on my-" a girl with long brown hair came into the room with a large painting of a sunset.
"Hello, my friends!" Marinette glared at her, and Adrien just looked in disbelief. I leaned over to Nathaniel.
"Who is she and why is everyone staring at her?"
He was in awe of her and looked at her while he spoke. "That's Lila. She was saved by Ladybug twice, and she is best friends with her!" Most of the classroom except for Marinette, Adrien, and I who stood away. Marinette's face was fuming with anger. I walked over to her and put my hand on her shoulder.
"What's wrong?" I asked calmly.
"Lila. She is a lying girl who lies about everything!" Out of the corner of my eye I could see a dark butterfly come into the room through a window, flapping towards Marinette.
"Marinette, I-" She was staring at the girl surrounded by Ivan, Nathaniel, Mylene, (Chloe had left to find Sabrina after she finally caught on that I wouldn't be her slave), Alix, Max, Marc, Rose, and Juleka. I looked at Adrien who was staring at us, and I indicated the butterfly with my head. His eyes widened, and he ran to Marinette.
He embraced her in a gigantic hug, and I knew she was blushing her head off. "You are such a good person, Mari!"
"I-uh, thank appreciate, I you that! I-uh, I mean I you that appreciate thank? I-" I just had a large smile as the girl was attempting to say a full sentence that made sense. The butterfly flew out the window, and I could tell Adrien was watching it. Once it was out of our sight, he let go of her and stepped back.
"You're welcome." He walked over to me and put his arm around me, well, tried to. When he was about to let his arm rest on my shoulder, I ducked behind his arm, causing him to embarrass only himself. "That was really cool of you. And good eye."
"Thanks," I put my elbow on his shoulder, leaning. "You were helpful too."
He stepped back suddenly, so I lost my balance for a second. I regained it, and we chuckled as we walked towards Marinette. "Calm down," she looked like she was having a breakdown. I told Adrien we would be right back, and I guided her to the bathroom where I punched her arm.
"Snap out of it!" She still seemed dazed.
"H-he hugged me. Adrien hugged," her body went limp, and I caught her in my arms, "me."
"You have issues."
After I had calmed her down, we went back to the arts room where Lila was showing off her painting. "This is the sunset as I saw it from my parent's secret mansion in Africa." It really was quite pretty, but I knew if Marinette didn't like her, she must be bad news. I had the girl with ponytails holding on to me as a stress ball. She was holding my arm so tightly, I wanted to tell her to stop, but decided it would be beneficial to her. "Who are you?" Her voice was kind, it surprised me.
"I'm Sam. I hear you are Lila," I held out my free hand to shake Lila's. Perhaps Marinette was wrong about the girl before me. She seemed very nice, and the painting looked original.
Lila excitedly shook my hand, and I could feel the grip on my arm tightening, and I bit my lip to keep myself from whimpering from the pain. "You are so pretty! I love your hair!" I remembered Daizzy, and my spirits fell. I would get her the moment I got home.
"Thanks! I like your painting! Very nice!"
"Thanks! I had the help from my uncle who is a famous painter in Asia," Adrien came over and gave Lila a scowl.
"Are you telling the truth?" While Marinette was on my left, Adrien was standing, arms crossed, to my right.
"Have I missed something?" I felt like I had just been dropped in the middle of a television series.
"Grrrr!" I looked to Marinette who was clearly showing hatred. I looked to my arm and realized she was cutting of my circulation and her nails were digging. I saw red, and I gently handed her over to Adrien, showing him my arm.
I'm sorry, but it isn't the same without Lila. Are there any people out there who actually like her? I'm not saying I do, in fact, I hate her guts. I just thought I would use her to show that Sam was kind to everyone, including her, but she still sees through the gal's lies. She is basically like a mix between Adrien and Marinette.
"Oh, Marinette!" Lila giggled, "I forgot you were here? How are you? I hope you are alright since that time I made you cry."
"I wasn't crying! I am not fine! You are spreading lies and rumors."
Adrien and I exchanged glances, and I knew this was a running theme. "So, I'm guessing you haven't been truthful in the past?" I looked to the girl of topic.
"No, but after talking with Prince Ali, I have learned the error of my ways." I didn't believe her.
"Nino, Nathaniel, Alya!" They looked from the painting to me. "Do you guys want to have lunch? My treat!" Nino put his arm around Alya as the walked over with Nathaniel.
"We're game, dude!" Ah, the typical Nino response.
"Sure, where?" Nathaniel asked from behind his red hair. He seemed more nervous, and I realized it might be because of Marinette.
"I don't know, let's see!" I dragged Adrien and Marinette with me out the door, just hoping the other three were following me. I took them all to the park where we sat down to enjoy Andre's ice cream. He tried to offer me ice cream, but I told him I was too young to be in love.
"You speak your truth, which I admire. A love for you, you have just yet to acquire. A young girl with no love in her heart, eat this ice cream, your love shall start!" He handed me two scoops of vanilla before moving on to Nathaniel.
"A boy cares for a girl who loves another, but just as well, share with your friends who are like sister and brother. Black beauty for her hair, with a scoop of mint, freshness she brings to the air. Blueberries for her blue-bell eyes, and a cherry, a hope, that someday your love will tie." I was amazed at Andre's words to describe Nathaniel's ice cream love. He then handed ice cream to Marinette, Adrien, and one for Alya and Nino to share.
As I ate my simple ice cream, I couldn't help but think about who I could possibly meet that I consider my "love". I was fourteen, how could I even know what love was?
"Hey, have you dudes heard about the spring dance?" We all looked at Nino with surprise. "What? It's girls ask the guys, and it was painfully quiet." We all laughed at him, and Alya got down on one knee in front of him. While Nino and Alya were sitting on a bench, the rest of us were sitting on the steps, me next to Marinette on the top step, and Adrien and Nathaniel sitting just below us. The boys sat on the outside of Marinette and I just so they could get a better view: Adrien next to Marinette, Nathaniel next to me.
"Nino, will you go to the Spring formal with me?" My classmates had stopped eating their ice cream to watch, while I only paused to make a simple comment.
"They are dating, they like each other. He's going to say:" I whispered.
"Of course, Alya!" I mouthed the words as Nino said them.
"Told ya!" I smiled proudly, continuing my ice cream. Alya came up to Marinette with a simple favor in mind.
"I can only have the best fashion designer design my dress. Marinette, you interested?" I looked behind me and saw Alya right next to us, kneeling down.
"I'd be honored, Alya!"
"Can you make my suit?" Nino asked and Marinette nodded.
"Why don't I make all your outfits?" She seemed genuine.
"Sure!" Adrien and Nathaniel agreed. "I just hope I can find a girl who will be willing to take me," Adrien continued. Alya, Nino, and I all began laughing.
"I think the hardest part will be finding a girl besides Alya and I who doesn't want to go with you!" Unfortunately, I was laughing so hard, when I finished my sentence, my ice cream fell down the stairs. I shrugged it off. "I still ate most of it, which means the magic will most likely still work." I realized although I had a small crush on Cat Noir, I didn't get that theme of ice cream, while Adrien got a Ladybug themed one and Marinette an Adrien themed.
"What about you, do you want me to design your dress?" Marinette asked as I went to get napkins to clean my ice cream.
"No, I'm good. You also have to make your own. I'll just take something from my closet." Marinette just stared at me for a moment or so before just innocently smiling, and I knew she had something planned.
"Alright."
I looked at my phone and realized it was almost five. I said my farewells and ran home where I opened my box and let Daizzy out. I attached the Miraculous to my wrist as I told her all about my day. I was super happy to be able to say what would soon become my three favorite words.
"Daizzy, pig out!"
Note from the Author:
School is coming to an end for me, which means I am going to loose my computer for school, and I will be forced to type on my tablet that I don't get on very much. I have a few summer plans that will take me away from Wattpad for a while. Like my scholarship thing! Today I got a letter confirming I was going to have a full scholarship to one of my local colleges, which means I get to live on that specific campus for a week. That starts on June 3 and lasts until June 7, so I won't be posting then. Also, I have summer camp! I am involved with an all female Boy Scout troop (we just do the same thing as Boy Scouts, and a lot less crafts than Girl Scouts), so I get to go to camp for an entire week. I get a badge if I wake up every morning and swim at six in the morning while I am at camp, so you bet I will one of those insane people. That starts on July 7-13, so I will gone then too. I will also be at my dad's during the summer, so I am most likely going to be taking a break on my other story and focusing on getting this one done.
