Ladybug Vs. Cochon

It was only a few moments before Ladybug arrived before Chat Noir had actually said anything into his weapon, which he put behind his back. I would not let my emotions around him get out of control. He liked Ladybug, so I will respect him.

"Who is this?" Ladybug looked to me, suspicious.

I smiled and waved. "Cochon, pleased to meet you, Ladybug!"

"Where did you get your miraculous?" She was tense.

"I'm not sure. I just found it in my bag after I got home." The answer seemed less than ideal. I continued. " I know you don't trust me, and I don't blame you or even hold anything against you. I heard about the Volpina thing. All I ask is for you to give me a chance."

She crossed her arms, leaning on one leg. "Where is your miraculous?"

"My bracelet." She looked down, thinking. Chat Noir put his arm around me.

"What's a Kwami?" He asked. Ladybug smiled at him as if he was a genius.

"It's a-uh," I was trying to think of how to describe it. The boy who was once amused, now looked at me worriedly.

"Do, you not know?" Ladybug looked pleased with herself. She was now swinging her yoyo in a circle next to her.

"Claws away, Bugaboo. What's their name?" He stepped in front of me, blocking Ladybug from my sight.

"Daizzi. He eats cheese, and he's really kind." I acted confident, I had to. Ladybug must think I'm just akumatized. "I am telling the truth, I don't have an akuma."

Cat Noir bowed. "Pleased to meet you, piggy." He looked up at me and winked. I winked back and kneed him in the gut.

"Don't even try to flirt with me," I exclaimed, a smile on my face, and my arms crossed. Sure I found it nice, but by doing that, he would just be playing with my feelings. Most likely without even knowing. Besides, I was going to root for him and Ladybug, just like the rest of Paris.

He was on the ground. I helped him up, and even he was smiling widely. "You're different."

"Of course I am, black kitty. Different than what?" I was still holding his hand from helping him up. I could feel heat rising to my cheeks, but I kept my thoughts focused on convincing them I wasn't a villain. I let go and took out my lasso, trying to see if I could swing it out of boredom. It got stuck on a build board, and I ending up flinging myself, face planting into a picture of Adrien holding a thing of perfume. I began slipping, but instincts took over. I looked at my lasso that was stuck on a corner. I tugged on the rope, and I ended up doing a flip to the other side, a somersault on the ground. Chat Noir came by stick to me, and Ladybug came by yoyo. My bracelet beeped and I realized four out of the five once pink pearls were now black. When they landed, Cat Noir offered his hand. I pushed one of his legs behind him, causing him to fall. I stood up without a problem and turned to Ladybug.

"I have to go, I'm about to change back." She looked at me with true hatred. "I haven't once claimed to want your miraculous, and if you find out my identity, then you'll just be making the situation worse." I tossed one end of my lasso towards the Eiffel Tower where I landed on my hip, just in time to feel Daizzy's essence get released from the bracelet.

I stayed on the ground, laying on my back that still hurt from earlier. I turned to Daizzi who was flying above my head.

"Hey, at least you know how to use your powers! And you have finally met your new team mates!" I sat up straight.

"But Ladybug thinks that I am lying! Just because of Volpina!" I knew I was being over dramatic. I took a deep breath and looked at Daizzi. "Let's go an find you some cheese. What kind do you want?"

Daizzi thought about this as we descended down the steps of the large landmark. "Anything besides camembert. There is this one kwami, Plagg, who is obsessed with it! He always brings it whenever we all meet up. Except for this one time, he was selfless and gave it too a poor kitten." I laughed, and we walked to the apartment. I decided to get Daizz an entire block of cheddar cheese, knowing I wouldn't eat any. We snuck back into the apartment room, and I could hear my mom's breathing stop for a moment, indicating she was in light sleep. I walked as slowly and as quietly to my room as I could. I took out my phone and realized Adrien had texted me.

Model Boy: Hey, Sam! Are you alright? How is your back?

Model Boy: My dad grounded me for a week, so I can't come to school.

What? Adrien hadn't done anything! I noticed I was added into a group chat with Marinette, Alya, and Nino.

Dude: Hey, Alya. Mari.

Dude: Sam

Dude: I created this chat and added you all 😁

Ladyblog: Wow, nino. I had NO idea

Ladyblog: What bout adrien he isnt in the cat

Ladyblog: omg CHAT

Mari: What is this even 4

Dude: Adrien isn't allowed to go to schol

Ladyblog: Again?

Ladyblog: Girl, the universe must not want u to stare at him all day 😎

These were all the messages from before Sam had turned her phone on. When she created their contacts, she put Marinette as "Mari", Nino as "Dude", and Alya as "Ladyblog".

CamSam: Did he say y?

Dude: no,

CamSam: I'll take care of it.

CamSam: Dont wory marinette. Youll be able to stutter and go crazy round him son

Just want to let you know, any misspellings (I spelled that wrong the first time! And the second time...) or grammatical errors displayed in the texts have been placed there on purpose. It is killing me, fighting the urge to fix it. However, I understand not everyone prefers to text in full sentences with correct punctuation. That doesn't mean I have to be happy about it.

Mari: Wat r u going to do?

Dude: Be smart sam

Ladyblog: Ninos right girl

I shut my phone down and began working on my homework while Daizzi feasted on his cheese. Between mouthfuls, we conversed.

"Be cautious, I don't have an endless supply of money, which means you don't have an endless supply of cheese."

"Seriously, what are you going to do?" Daizzy was curious and I knew we would end up being good friends.

"I'm just going to stop by his house to pick him up for school tomorrow."

Daizzy looked puzzled. "But, isn't he grounded? And who is he? Who are these people?" He raised his voice just a bit. I shushed him, my mom was fast asleep in the room next to us.

"Adrien Agreste is one of my friends at school. I went to seek refuge from my mother at his house tonight. I got akumatized and my mom took me home where I met you. I write the Catablog, it's about Chat Noir. Alya, she's also my friend at school. She writes the Ladyblog. Nino and Marinette are Adrien and Alya's best friends. You'll meet them tomorrow. Would you be alright hanging out in my shoe?"

Daizzy sat down on my tablet for school with a look of concern. "Do your feet stink? What about your purse?" I shook my head.

"No can do, I don't have a purse. Everything I need is safely stored in my pockets. Why don't you hide in my hair?" I asked, thinking that was a good idea. My hair was thick and curly, and always in a ponytail.

"Su-" the little kwami yawned, he was falling asleep on my tablet. He began tipping forward, so I put my hand in a place where he fell, and I could gently put the snoring creature down. I convinced myself I would catch up on the work the teachers had given me. I was gifted in America, but in Paris, they had different standards.

After I had finally finished, I set my alarm for five instead of six. I put my head down and went to sleep around midnight.

When I woke up, I saw Daizzi had found a small baggy and had begun to fill it with cheese. I looked at my wrist and decided to put it on my ankle so nobody would recognize it. I didn't know who Ladybug and Chat Noir were, so I had to hide all evidence from everyone. It was still dark out, and I sent Daizzy to fetch my typical gray tennis shoes for me while I changed into my plaid shirt and jeans. I brushed my teeth and put my hair in a proper ponytail, and I had a spilt minute decision to put my kwami in the little pocket in my shirt that buttoned up. I placed the small bag of cheese in my jeans pocket for later, and we were out the door in fifteen minutes.

I knocked on the door to the mansion. The camera came out, and I realized the voice came from the woman who led me to Adrien's room the day before.

"How may I help you?"

"Hello, I am here to walk Adrien to school today," I replied defiantly.

"Mr. Agreste will not be attending school today."

"No, I don't think so. Is Gabriel Agreste available for discussion?" The camera retreated back to the fence wall. The gate opened, and I walked confidently up the steps. I was greeted by the woman who directed me to Gabriel's office.

"You have someone who-" I interrupted the woman.

"Hello, sir. My name is Sam, and I would like to talk to you in-"

He turned to face me, a scold permanently on his face. "You are the girl Adrien was hiding in his room ."

"Well yes. Actually I came here to-" I held my hand up to stop him from speaking. I approached him as I spoke. "I was wondering if there was anything I could say that will allow you to take your son off house arrest."

"Nathelie, leave us." He looked at me with great disgust, clearly trying to intimidate me. I locked eye contact with him and as I heard the door shut, I took a step back.

"Why do you torture your son like this? He is clearly unhappy."

"I am keeping him safe."

"You are keeping him locked up! He is not a snowflake! If you let him fall, he will be able to get stronger and be a better, happier person!"

"You don't understand."

"No, you don't understand, sir. The more you hold him, strangle him, the more prone he will be to rebel!" He remained silent. "Say something, you coward!"

"I will not put up with getting ridiculed in my own house. I think you ought to leave."

I took a deep breath, not wanting to deal with a second akumitized version of myself twice within the span of two days. "I do not mean to be disrespectful, I just think you are being unjust with your son. I had run away from my home by myself!" I had begun speaking over the man's voice, ignoring what he said. "I came here yesterday without him knowing, and what he did was a very kind thing! You shouldn't punish him for the way he acted! He was-"

"Enough!" He was pressing my buttons, but I couldn't let him know that.

"No," I replied calmly.

"What did you just say?"

"I said, no," I had collected myself. "Sir, I am only here to convince you that the way you have raised your son has caused him to be a kind, caring, and outgoing young man. He does not deserve to have you as a father-" I was going to fight for my friend's rights.

"How dare you? I will not let Adrien get influenced by this type of behavior. If I ever see or hear of you being near my son, I will go to the authorities." I was shocked, and upset. Disappointed. I knew there was no winning this fight, he was a wealthy man with power, and I was just a young girl in tenth grade who was throwing a fit, at least in the eyes of the law.

"My apologies, sir. I'll be-" I opened the door to see Adrien sitting alone at the kitchen table with a tray full of food in front of him. He was on his phone, and he looked forlorn. "Going," I knew how he felt, just in a different way. I reminded myself as I walked away, I would never truly know how he felt unless I was actually in his exact situation. I felt bad for him as I walked out the door.

I could hear Daizzi's voice, but the pocket was in a way so he couldn't show himself without my help. "Are you alright, Samantha?"

"I'm fine, it's just that," I looked ahead. "I put hope in too many people." Something entered my mind, and I couldn't shake it. "How were Chat Noir and Ladybug able to boost their powers?" My miraculous didn't come with an instruction manual, and the box itself didn't just appear in my backpack.

"I think you are one of the most curious of all humans I have been assigned to." I was walking to school, looking ahead so if Hawkmoth was watching me...

"Hawkmoth has attacked people from all over Paris, which means he is hiding in a place that overlooks all of Paris, right? Which means we need to look for a place that is high up, but unsuspecting."

I ran to my class just in time for class, so I wasn't marked late.

That night, I had convinced myself I was going to stop playing superhero.

"I'm sorry, Daizzy. If I can't even stand up for my friend, how can I stand by two superheroes? How will I be able to protect Paris?"

"You won't be alone! You don't have to do this! You are the chosen one!" I shook my head and removed my bracelet, putting it back in the box, where Daizzy disappeared.

I avoided the group for the next week, well, avoiding everyone. I didn't bother to think about Chat Noir and my blog. I just focused on my school work. The only time I ever spoke in school was for attendance, and assuring everyone I was fine. When Adrien came back to school, he ran over to me, but I turned from him and walked into the girl's bathroom. Eventually, that was just how it was. I stopped talking to everyone, my mom, my friends in America. I only said "here" seven times, before closing my mouth. I had failed.
