Evillustrator: Part 1

After I fed my neglected kwami, I went on my journey to return the Miraculous of the fox to Master Fu.

“Thank you, Samantha. Could I get you something to drink? Tea?”

I was about to decline when I realized how Daizzi looked at Wayzz. He was lonely, and I knew I wasn’t enough. Daizz looked at me, and must have read my eyes. The disappointment in his pink eye was something he couldn’t hide from me; despite his clear attempt.

“Tea sounds great.” I winked at my pink kwami, and he levitated to Wayzz.

____________

While he made the tea, I filled the older man in on the recent turn of events.

“I knew it was only a matter of time before you figured it out, especially with your gift.” He took a sip of tea, then handed me an envelope. “I went through the records, and I found something quite interesting.”

I accepted it with furrowed eyebrows and began to open it when Master set his hand on mine to stop me. “Wait until you go home, Samantha. Drink your tea.”

I obeyed, sipping my own drink that filled me with a sense of warmth.

“Master?”

“Yes?”

I took a deep breath and set my cup down. “What should I do about Marinette and Adrien?”

“Your heart feels guilty for favoring your friend’s crush?” My face paled and Master chuckled as he set his cup down.

“Samantha, there are many things we can control in life. Our hearts are not one of them. You are still young,” he put his hand up as if he were telling a secret. “Even younger than me.” He winked in a jolly way, and I was reminded once more of how much he seemed like a huggable stuffed bear. He set his hand down, “It will not do you well to think on the small things that don’t matter. Just focus on living your best life, and follow your heart.”

I couldn’t help but smile. “You really are a wise man, you know that?”

“I have heard that a few times, yes.” He stroked his small beard, and we both finished our tea with only the snoring of our kwamis and the soft wind to fill the otherwise, silent night.

______________

I sat on the bench near the tents, Daizzi sleeping soundly in the pocket of my sweatshirt. I let my hair out of its ponytail and allowed it to flow in the wind that flowed by gently.

____________

“Is she alive?”

“No, she’s breathing.”

“Should we wake the g-girls?”

“No, I doubt she’d want to go with them.”

I fluttered my eyes open, then opened them abruptly to see Nathaniel, Marc, Adrien, and Nino; all of them staring at me.

I fell over the back of the bench, hearing the grunt of Daizzi. I whispered an apology to the small creature, then looked at the students like they were crazy.

“How long have you been there?”

Nino began blushing and they all stepped back in surprise. “Just a few minutes, dude! I swear!” I stood up and realized I was still in my jeans from the day prior. I walked towards them and tapped Daizz just to make sure he was still there.

“Right,” I commented sarcastically. “So, where are you boys heading off to?” I put my hair back in its ponytail as Adrien spoke.

“We were thinking about going to see a movie then getting the girls a gift,” Adrien responded.

Nino put his face in his hands.“I have no clue what Alya wants!”

Adrien chuckled and put his hand on his bud’s shoulder, then looked to me. “So? You in?” I glanced over to Marc and Nath, both looking quite uncomfortable. Neither of them were close friends with Nino or Adrien, and it is because of me that they are here.

“I’m good,” I answered slowly, trying to come up with something to say. “I...Think I want to go to a bakery.” I punched Marc gently on his shoulder. “You wanna come?” He cast his green eyes up to me and hugged his notebook even tighter. “Or we could just hang out here until the girls wake up, and we could all go to the mall together?” I hated malls, so full and crowded? Personally, I’d rather hang out with my guy friends. I put my arms around Marc and Nathaniel. “Unless you’d rather go to a bookstore?” I raised an eyebrow at the two boys in my grasp, their eyes filled with joy. “I’ll take that as a yes!” I turned my neck in a circle; getting a loud crack that felt very nice. “Last one to the store is buying!” I darted off like a dart, dragging two of the boys with me by their wrists.

Marc slowed to a walk, while Nathaniel was running like a bullet with Nino and Adrien. I smiled and bumped shoulders with him.

“What’s up?”

“I, I just don’t-”

I smirked at his struggle for words. “For an amazing author such as yourself, you seem to hate sharing your mind.” His cheeks flushed a bright red, and I linked my arm in his.

“W-Well, when I w-write, I become someone better than myself,” he avoided eye contact. “I know it sounds stupid.”

“No! Not at all!” He matched my smile, and we continued walking at a slow pace to the book shop.

_____________

“Would you be alright letting me read one of your stories sometime?” We had separated, and were now looking at books in relativity to fantasy.

“I, I don’t really let people see what I write-”

“Except Nathaniel?” I looked up from the book I had been inspecting to find the other student covering his face with his book.

“He’s m-my friend,” Marc insisted. I smirked and put the book back.

“I never said anything contrary. Just know that I am here if you ever want a fresh pair of eyes.”

“Thanks, Sam.” I nodded with a supportive glance that was cut off by a gasp.

“Dude, you good?” Nathaniel came rushing around the corner with a sketch tutorial book that he showed to Marc with a gleam in his eyes that I had seen only once before, in the eyes of a person from my past.

In his hands, he held a book that showed drawings of all the Miraculous holders: including Cochon.

“Now I can finally get the hair right for Chat Noir!” I took the book from him and put it under my arm.

“Then you shall have this book!” I took the pile of books from Marc, the disc from Nino, and began walking to the counter.

Just as we were walking out, Adrien’s phone pinged and he read the message that lit his screen.

“Alya and Marinette are heading to the mall, they are wondering if we want to come with them?”

___________________

The boys and us girls separated at the mall; the boys heading to the food courts while we went to a salon.

Marinette told the manicurist what to with Alya and I, both our nerves visibly high.

In the end, while Alya got her nails painted a bright red, mine had a gradation from black to green.

Next was the salon, then we would get dressed and meet the boys at the school.

Alya and I were blindfolded.

I heard the sound of scissors, though I couldn’t tell from where.

“Girl, if those scissors are cutting my hair, I’ll post your crush on my Ladyblog,” Alya threatened. I heard a nervous giggle, and I felt a cold liquid pour on my head.

“Ah,” I exclaimed. The man’s voice responded in a calm tone.

“It is alright, I promise to make you nothing less than perfect.”

_____________

Alya was the first to take her blindfold off, and I heard a gasp of shock escape her lips.

“What? What’s going on?” I stood up, alarmed at the knowledge that Marinette was giggling. She removed my blindfold and moved me so I was staring at myself in the mirror.

“What the heck did you do me?” I ran my fingers through my poofy, curling, hair (dyed green at the bottom) that had been shortened from the length of my waist.

“A little change is a good thing!”

My hair was, indeed, changed, resting just below my shoulders with bangs that dangled atop my eyebrows. “My mom’s going to kill me!”

___________

We met at a McDonalds, the boys’ with their jaws dropped. Marinette had put her hair up in a simple, traditional bun her mother had frequently worn in her younger days.

Adrien was looking at me with pure shock; enough to make me feel uncomfortable. “Wow,” he stated with Nathaniel.

A vision without pain entered my thoughts, well, without mental pain. It had a pin to stab my heart.

Chat Noir was hugging Ladybug with such protection in his grip, I felt jealous. He cared for her.

Adrien loved Ladybug.

Ladybug was one of my friends.

Marinette liked Adrien.

They were made for each other.

I pushed away any former feelings for the cat-like hero.

___________

I am skipping a lot, just because I want to get this final chapter finished so I can publish the next book.

___________

As we were climbing into Adrien’s limo, I couldn’t help but admire the work of all our outfits. Marc wore a simple black and white tuxedo, his green eyes popping out more than usual. Adrien’s black vest was decorated with red paw prints; his black shirt lined the edges of the sleeves and at his waist with green dots.

Nino also wore a vest, a purple one with a black, small pocket covering his heart that had the image of a light purple Wi-Fi symbol. The space in the pocket was occupied by a red handkerchief that had a simple black dot on the tip. The only thing that covered Nino’s brown arms was a long-sleeved, orange shirt.

Nathaniel’s outfit was unlike the others; it was a full suit that was signed by Cochon in a pink marker, Chat Noir in neon green, Rena Rouge in orange, Carapace in dark green, Ladybug in red, Queen Bee in yellow (Chloe also drew a sloppy bee near her signature), Marinette’s in purple, and Marc’s in black. It was an amazing design, one I did not expect my signature to be used for. The back of the jacket was completely black.

The jacket did not button, allowing the shirt with the LadyNoir symbol surrounded by its outline in black to show.

___________

My fingers hurt. XP

___________

Marinette’s dress followed the shape of Sabine’s, though the white outline of the Eiffel Tower separating the blue and red colors that surrounded her torso and thighs was completely of her own design. On the sleeves that went just below her shoulders were black dots that continued under her armpit. She looked quite nice, and it was a strange sight to see Marinette with her hair in a loose bun as opposed to the two pig-tails*. In her hands, she held a penny purse that was colored with the same colors and formation as the French flag with the small symbol from said flag that buttoned the purse shut.

_________

Alya’s outfit was not as feminine as her friends’, but it still showed off her curves. She had a black jacket made of leather that ended just above where her hips began to form. The jacket closed only via the Ladybug button following the hero’s red signature on the leather strip that surrounded Alya’s neck.

Under her jacket was a simple red shirt that matched the girl’s few strips of dyed hair that had been straightened. Alya’s pleather pants were loose around her red boots.

Just like Marinette, the young girl had a purse that resembled her computer satchel with the exception of the red and black colors that danced on the straps and the five black dots on the outermost surface of the bag.

“C’mon, Sam! It’s time for you to get dressed,” Adrien pushed my dress towards me with a wide smile.

I squinted nervously and let out a strained chuckled as I hesitantly took the costume bag from him. “Right.”

_________

The dress was more amazing than I could have imagined. It was black with a turtleneck, and the sleeves were different in a stylish way. While the left sleeve was a tight piece of fabric that stretches to my wrist, the right sleeve exposed my shoulder and then spread out as if it were a skirt. A dark green, pleather belt with a black emblem that was decorated with a lime green paw print was around my waist. A see-through skirt connected to the belt extended to the ground and added more color to the knee-high skirt from the dress. On the right side of the belt emblem in bright green marker and cursive handwriting was “Chat”, and “Noir” was written on the left of the belt.

My purse was a simple bag that was in the shape of a paw print with a black thread that allowed it to wrap around my shoulder, across my chest.

“You look pig-tastic, Sammy!” Daizzi spun around my head with a giggle. He lifted a piece of my hair, and I watched as he began to fiddle with my curly hair.

“Wh-What are you doing?” I disliked not having the ability to see what the small kwami was doing. I felt the jab of a bobby pin, and let the minor shock escape my lips.

“Ta da! You look purr-fect, now,” he commented.

A vision popped into my head to show my half French-braided hair as seen from behind me. “Wow, Daizz. You are the best kwami I have ever had!”

_________

AT THE DANCE:

Marinette was conned into dancing with Adrien by Alya, leaving Nathaniel to sketch his surroundings with a slight frown.

_____

After drinking way too much punch, I began walking to the bathroom. I tried to open the door, but it appeared to be locked.

“Go away,” a voice called from within.

“You don’t have to be so rude,” I remarked with a scowl.

“I’m on my period, leave me alone!”

“Oh,” I felt guilt begin to eat at my stomach. “If you-” I realized I had gotten to know that voice too well. “Marc?” Silence. I knocked on the door gently. “Marc, let me in.”

_______________

“All you have to do is get me Ladybug and Chat Noir’s Miraculous. Can you do that for me, young man?”

“Yes, Hawk Moth.”

“Excellent.”

_________

I AM WORKING ON THE LAST CHAPTER AS SOON AS I GET BACK TO MY COMPUTER.
