Prologue
New South Wales, Australia.
He hated kids. God, how he hated them. His nephews were a thorn in his sight. His little brother was a pain in the ass and the Kids at his school where he taught made him question himself. What in heaven's name was he thinking when he got the job? How did the thought of teaching in front of a bunch of teenagers who would rather jump off a building than listen to him, encourage him to get the job?
Stuart Jacobi couldn't even begin to answer the questions that ran through his mind as he laid on the floor of his class room and stared at the ceiling. Slowly, yet quietly dying. His body couldn't move and he could already sense his consciousness slipping away.
He probably would have been back up on his feet if his flimsy students didn't steal his bottle of honey because they got a bloody F on their tests.

Montreal, Quebec.
Running down the hall, he made a mental note to sign the contract the higher ups had presented to him. He couldn't wait to start working on their new discovery. He felt like it would give his life meaning again.
It's been over a year since Mary, his wife, had died. There was no day he hadn't mourned her death. It was a painful accident. The crash. It had killed her and his yet to be born child. Leon Holmes had not just been depressed, but had actually thought of ending himself. Because just like that his family was gone and he was alone again.
He skidded to a stop when he noticed one of the faculty's research labs opened. Normally he would just ignore it because there were tons of labs in the establishment, but this one was weird. It had always been locked since the first day he stepped foot into the building. And they said it was the most used lab in the building.
Curious, Leon walked slowly towards it and frowned when nothing came out to surprise him. Frowning further, he noticed the lab was just like his. Table tops filled with flasks, pipettes, and burettes. Chemical experiments ranging from AH1 to AH5 in a test tube holder. Leon skimmed through the notes left on the desk and gasped when he saw the photo of someone's eyes.
It was beautiful. Rich green with flakes of gold in them. It was clearly one of the most beautiful eyes he had ever seen. Mary's hazel was the best, constantly shifting colours with light, but this too was breathtaking.
Leon was too consumed in those eyes to have noticed the door he had walked through was locked from the outside. It was when he started to perceive a familiar gas he realized he was locked inside. The smell of Carbon IV oxide filled the room, leaving him choking and gasping for air. He slammed on the door, banging it and hoping someone came for him.
He didn't know how long he had been there, but for some odd reason, he felt relaxed. Maybe it was the fact that he was soon going to meet Mary and his little son.

Moscow, Russia.
"Why don't you, I don't know, settle down? You are almost thirty and I still haven't gotten my grandchild." May, Vladimir's grandma managed to say from where she laid, in a hospital bed, staring up at him.
Vladimir Allister cringed. Just the thought of a family sent a cold chill up his spine and he shivered visibly, making his ma frown at him. The need to correct her about his kids being her great grand kids only seemed unnecessary.
"Ma, zis is why I don't like coming here. You are always telling me zis. I like my single life, ma."
Actually, he hated it, but he wasn't going to be telling his ma that. She'll just use that as an opportunity to jump out of the bed and follow him home. Which would just make her go back into coma because of the mess he had made.
"'This' hunny. It's 'This'." She corrected, pronouncing the word he had been unable to learn since she started teaching him proper English.
Vladimir just rolled his eyes at her before staring back at the flowers he had brought her. It was a nice pink flower that fitted perfectly to the garden he had surprisingly made while she was in coma.
His Mum and Dad divorced when he was at a young age and he had been forced to live with his dad who just dumped his ass with his grandma and only came on holidays like Thanksgiving or Christmas. Vladimir didn't mind because his grandma was more of a parent to him than anything.
Then she went into a coma that lasted a whole good year. Ever since, he had been bringing flowers for her and now it was a nice bountiful garden.
"I'm not getting any younger, Vlad. I need to see my grandkids before I die."
Rolling his eyes, he glanced back at her and smiled. "What do you think about the flowers?" He asked in Russian, not in the mood to have her correct him again.
She smacked him but smiled nonetheless as she looked around. "You asked that a week ago after I woke up."
"You said it smelt funny and I thought it was because you weren't used to it. Now, it's been a week, how is it?"
"Beautiful." Her hazel eyes glowed, similar to his.
He smiled and kissed her forehead. "I am off. I got a new patient. She is very beautiful and loves flowers too." He managed in English and his ma grinned.
Raising her hands up, she cupped his face and his heart warmed at the feel of her warm hands on him. "Thank you, son."
He cherished her. She was indeed the only family he had.
Pulling away, he started to leave when his ma stopped him saying, "So sorry darling. Some man came in here earlier when you were asleep and gave me this envelope. He said I should give you to open it when you are out of the hospital." Her brows knotted up in worry. "Please do what he said. He looked pretty scary."
Vladimir frowned and took the envelope from the drawer she was pointing at. It was a plain white envelope that said To You boldly written on it. Vlad couldn't even guess what it was so instead of stressing his ma any further, he left with the envelope.
Like his ma had told him, he open the envelope when he got to his car after his shift, but never got the chance to read it when something wet covered his nose. He tried to fight the hand but every part of his body was becoming heavy and soon, he fell unconscious on his steering.

Bogotá, Colombia.
"Andres, look at that chick. Goddamn she a hottie." Pablo mused, obviously salivating for the girl that just walked past their table.
They were in a bar and Andres Maximiliano was glad to be off from work. He needed to relax with his fucked up friends and chill for once. Being 'That Detective' had taken away too much of his free time.
Seated around him were Pablo, his twisted cousin that could fuck anything that moved. Juan, his best friend from the crib and David, a friend he had made along the way on a case he had worked on.
"If you want her in bed, telling Andres about it wouldn't do that for you." David laughed loudly after taking a sip from his second beer. "It's only going to make you lose your chance."
Pablo hiccupped, glancing at Andres who just smirked at him. He was ready for a challenge any time. Besides, he hadn't used his little guy in a while. This should be fun.
Pablo wriggled his nose and scoffed. "You're right. I ain't no match for The Detective."
Juan huffed, glaring at him. "The detective my foot. Pablo can get the chica if he tried. He just too chicken to bother."
Pablo nodded in defeat. "Yeah, I'm too chicken."
"I don't think you are a chicken. I mean, your boss is pretty scary." Andres bumped his shoulder lightly with his cousin. "If my boss did shit he did, probably would have quit."
"And suffer a poor life?" Pablo scoffed. "Don't care if my boss slams me against a wall or fucks me raw, I'm still going to work for him."
"Damn, you so gay now." Juan sneered at him.
"I ain't so gay. I'm just a natural pervert for all genders." He shrugged then smirked when a dude walking past him who winked and smiled flirtatiously at him.
However, Pablo didn't follow after him and just turned back to the rest of them. Andres, Juan and David frowned at him and he gave them a confused look. "What?"
"Uh, he looked into you. Ain't you gon' get some ass this night?" David asked.
Pablo appeared skittish but it wasn't like it was his fault. His parents were seriously uncool with it. "So you guys don't mind if i-"
"Hell nah. We cool." Andres cut him off and Juan nodded in agreement.
Pablo smiled, his brownish eyes widening. "Thanks man." He jumped out of his seat, took his jacket and approached the dude who had winked at him at the other side of the bar.
"Well, that was awkward." David huffed, finishing his drink before yelling for another.
Taking a sip of his drink, Andres said, "I've gotten used to it. I mean, I live with the guy."
That had to happen since his parents kicked him out. More like disowned him. It made him less extroverted but it wasn't like the real Pablo was gone. The day he came out to Andres was still the funniest day of his life.
They were at that very same bar and the three of them had seen Pablo kissing some dude. No one interrupted until he was done and saw them. The man just walked up to them and said, "What's up? What's up? What's up? So, I just realized I bat for both teams. Weird but more asses for my cock."
Juan had been peeved by the idea and told his parent. Shit happened and then he was living with Andres, who made Juan beg for Pablo's forgiveness. So everyone was cool now. Except the parents. But fuck the parents. They were men. They did what they wanted.
"Since no one is going after the Mexican chica, can I go have fun?" Andres asked then finished the last of his drink.
Juan laughed. "No one's stopping you." He rose his hands up in surrender before moving out of the way.
"Get her good." David winked at him.
"You bet."
He scoffed then began his journey to the woman that changed his life.
The Daddy Project Commence...
