First kisses are special.
Vlad cursed again, shoving his phone into his coat pocket in annoyance. As much as he loved playing gay and daddy he would still love to be called son. He had been trying to reach his Ma for a while but it hadn't been going through. Maybe it was because he was in a whole other continent!
Muttering inaudible words under his breath, he turned to the kid in the back seat. Since Gala was old enough, she went home herself but little old Fyodor who was still in kindergarten, had to be pick up.
The kid was definitely mixed. His brown curly locks looked so soft and he had the cutest brown eyes Vlad had ever seen. The weird thing was that it was slightly similar to his so whenever he looked at the kid, he felt some sort of possession.
"Allo Fyodor." Vlad reached for him to run a hand through the kid's hair. Just as he had thought, it was soft.
"Daddy, where are we?" Fyodor asked. He was belted up which made it difficult for him to move much.
Vlad was surprised to know that dear little Fyodor was going to be four on Christmas day. The kid was definitely big for his age. "We came to pick up daddy. Do you want to go with me to his office?"
Fyodor's eyes widened with excitement and he nodded vigorously. Vlad smiled at that then released the belt from around his waist before he came down to take the kid out of the car.
Holding the little kid's hand, he quickly led them into the building so they could get out of the cold. Vlad tried to ignore the little kid's small gasp as cops padded with guns, teasers and whatnot walked past them. He reached for the officer behind the desk who didn't even notice him until he knocked on the glass window.
The elderly man looked up and Vlad managed a smile for him. "Hi, my name is Vladimir Allister and I came to see Andres."
The old man whose name was Tony Fisher gave him a dull stare. "There are about four Andres' in this building. Be more specific."
Vlad narrowed his eyes at the man, daring him to use that tone with him again as he said, "Surname rhymes with Maximiliano. Oh wait, isn't zat sheriff? My husband?"
Tony seemed to realize that with the way it shone in his eyes. He quickly nodded then yelled at someone who quickly ran to him. "Hey Barnes. This guy is here for the boss. Please take him to meet him."
Barnes agreed without much of a hassle. He led the way through to double doors that lead to a much larger office. There were desks and even an open jail down the room.
"So, are you anybody important to the boss?" Barnes asked as they walked through the room. Well, he walked but Barnes looked a little eager to get there.
Vlad had to even stop to carry Fyodor so he could catch up with the man.
"Why do you ask? You are his secretary?"
"Just a close friend." Barnes shrugged but didn't slow down as he kept walking.
The office was huge and this was just the first part. Barnes took him to the elevator and Vlad was relieved when it was just the three of them.
"Is that real?" Fyodor said suddenly then pointed at Barnes gun.
Barnes smiled at him and nodded, "Yes, but you have to be trained to use it."
"Wow. Daddy, can you use one?" Fyodor looked at him and Vlad chuckled.
"Nyet. My focus is terrible." He chuckled again and Barnes joined him.
The elevator finally opened and Barnes pointed at a closed door at the end of the hall. "That's Mr. Andres' office. If you need me, I'll be this other way." He pointed at the other direction and Vlad gave him a nod of appreciation. "Well then, I will see you later. And oh, if you want to work on your focus, you can always come to me. The name's Barnes."
Vlad was amused as he shook the man's hand and told him his name. He wasn't sure, but he felt like the man was flirting with him.
Not wanting it to get any weirder, he gave him another salute before walking across the hall to his 'husband's' office. The floor was clearly less crowded than the one they had been on.
"Do you think daddy's going to have a gun?" Fyodor asked as Vlad opened the door.
"Yes. He has to protect us, okay?"
Fyodor wasn't given the chance to respond because Andres opened the door and his face surprisingly brightened up. "Wow. I'd pay you a buck if you keep coming to pick me up like this." Then he glanced at Fyodor and his face twisted to that of confusion. "Fyodor?"
"Daddy!" He exclaimed giddily, then reached out for him.
Andres chuckled as he took him from Vlad then moved away from the door for Vlad to enter into his moderately large office. "Nice office."
"Thanks." Then he looked at the kid and said as he walked back to his desk, "Fyodor, how was your day?"
"Okay. Aunty Mine was very tired today so she didn't cut any of our papers. We didn't do many things today."
Vlad wanted to ignore the look Andres gave, him but how could he when the man dropped the kid, leaving him to play with his phone then pulled him to the other side of the room.
"Oh my God, Vlad. What is he doing here?" Andres whisper yelled, his brows bumped together in a scowl.
"I picked him up from school."
Andres gave him another look that dared him to lie again and Vlad sighed in defeat. "I did not get to pick him up from school. I did not know it closed by 12pm. Christie picked him zen called me to come to her place and take him. Zen Gala refused to come home and claimed to have told you she was staying out. I did not know and went to her school. Zen when I called her, she told me she had already gone."
Vlad squinted in a furtive manner as he played with his hands guiltily. "Zen I went for drinks."
Andres' jaw dropped but Vlad quickly added, "Fyodor was asleep by zen. Not to worry too, I did not get drunk."
"Yeah, I can see that." Andres frowned at him making Vlad roll his eyes.
"I am sorry, okay? It was mainly Gala's fault." He didn't mean to push the blame on Gala but he would need a little help right now.
"Passing blame is immature, Vlad." He rolled his eyes and sighed. "How's the gas?"
Rubbing the back of his neck, he said, "We might not make it back home. I was on road for while."
"Weren't you now?" He scoffed then walked past him to the desk where Fyodor was still playing with his phone.
Holding back a curse, Vlad walked back to the desk and picked Fyodor up, letting Andres have some room to pack up his things. When he had locked up his suitcase, he smiled at the kid and took the phone from him.
"Daddy will give it right back to you. He just has to make one serious call." Andres told him in a light tone before stroking his cheeks softly. Then he looked up at Vlad. "Come on. Let's go."
Vlad knew he was already in enough trouble so he decided to play the obedient daddy. "So who is daddy calling?" Vlad didn't know why he had addressed him in third person but Andres had started it first.
"That little Gala girl. She is so grounded."
That seemed to put a smile on Vlad's face and he remained silent to cherish his little victory.
...
"He's asleep." Andres groaned. "And not in a bed. Vladimir, this is your fault."
"What? I zought we were done with zis blame. Fault belongs to both Gala and me. I accept zat."
Andres smacked his forehead against the steering. "And the flipping girl didn't pick up her phone."
Vlad nodded. "Da. Being daddy is stressful. Since we adopted zem we can just return zem, no?"
Andres grunted noisily. "We can but we are supposed to make being daddies work. It's the bloody reason why we are here."
"Then not gay then?"
"Daddies, Vladimir. Daddies' the whole package. Gay, in love, married, kids."
Vlad could practically feel the annoyance emitting off him. They were at a gas station with no line or anyone to disturb them so they were taking their time. Vlad knew he was going to ask him to kiss him soon and he was just waiting for it because his god knew he wasn't going to make the first move.
"We could just leave," Vlad suggested, shrugging before looking away to play with his phone.
"We've got a kid in the backseat. We can't leave with him. Plus, I feel like I'm in here illegally. Leaving would just be weird."
"I understand." He smiled at him then hated himself as he asked, "So, how we going to get money. I am broke."
Vlad watched Andres lean back on the seat then looked at him. "Kiss me."
"I cannot."
"Nothing is stopping you from moving those gorgeous lips and putting them on mine," He said as he licked his, making Vlad's eyes draw down to it. They looked like they were teasing him.
"Is there another way to get gas?" He tried not to look at him as he stared into the man's dark brown eyes that was almost black if not for the light in the gas station.
"Kiss me."
"Oh Andres. How I feel about kissing, I told y-" Vlad was very surprised to see Andres lean towards him to press his lips on his.
To Vlad's surprise, Andres didn't move his lips on his and just left it there. Honestly, even though Vlad might have been against it, he was expecting something more. Something that would have swept him off his feet but instead he got this.
Rolling his eyes, he wondered when they were going to be over since 10 seconds had passed a while ago but was shocked when Andres cupped his cheeks and tilted his head up to meet him.
He gasped, which he shouldn't have, because Andres used that opportunity to slip his tongue into his mouth. He wanted to scream at Andres to stop but he slowly came to the realization that he liked it.
Andres started slow as if waiting for Vlad to believe he was indeed kissing a man then it suddenly because rushed and sloppy but yet felt so good to Vlad. It was a surprise to him that he hadn't taken off his shirt yet.
If not for Fyodor's light moan, Andres probably would never had pulled away, leaving Vlad feeling very conflicted.
The Colombian leaned back on his seat and they both stared straight ahead as if they were trying to make sense of what happened. At least, Vlad was trying to.
"How was it?" Andres asked suddenly making Vlad almost jump out of his seat.
He managed to maintain a calm expression as he looked at the man that had just given him a boner. "Was what?"
"The kiss?"
Amazing. "Terrible! Horrible. Unbelievably sloppy and rough. I told you not to-" A beep cut him off from his lie and he sighed in relief.
They both quickly checked their phones and Vlad was baffled to see an email from his bank then a text saying; That was adorable, with a blushed emoji.
"Zey just saw zat." Vlad jaw dropped.
"I'm getting the gas." Andres quickly got out of the car leaving Vlad to sink with his own thoughts.
Looking down on his pants he could already see the bump and the fact that the cause was just standing out the window wasn't helping his case. So, he got down from the car, kept his hands in his pocket and tried to make his way to the little shop.
"Hey, where are you going?" Andres called to him but that didn't stop him as he walked faster to the shop.
"Need to use restroom," He answered before entering into the shop.
Taking a good look around, he saw the restroom not so far from the checkout desk and quickly walked into it. Sighing in relief when he found no one in it, he tried to think of something that would help calm himself because sadly, he was one of those people who thought touching themselves was a dirty act.
An image came up of his grandma when he had mistakenly entered her room without knocking. Yes! He could still picture the wrinkled legs in those damn grandma panties. Vlad was very pleased to see that it was working as another image popped in his head.
It was his grandpa's burial. He could hardly remember the whole thing but the image of his Ma staring wistfully at the coffin was engraved in his mind. Vlad was a kid but the image was as clear as yesterday.
"Vlad. You in here?" Andres' voice came from behind the door before it opened to reveal the Colombian. The man rose a brow at him and asked, "What are you doing?"
"Zinking." He swallowed then blinked back the tears that was daring to fall in remembrance of that dreadful day.
He licked his lips and sighed. "Vlad, we got to go. It's already 10pm and I've got to wake up early to take Gala and Fyodor to school."
That was right. He wasn't in Russia. He wasn't home. He wasn't with his grandma. He was with some Colombian named Andres. He was supposed to be his husband and the father of two kids.
That was right. He had to fake it to leave this place. To be finally home with his family.
Taking in a deep breath, he managed a smile at Andres. "Da. Let us go. I start work tomorrow too."
