Chapter Nine: the pact
Flying quickly, the small winged curse searched for his brother, just as his mother asked. Little eyes flicked around quickly. Searching, searching. The small curse flew past the cityscape, the hills and into the forests. It finally stopped at a clearing with hot springs where several other beings were resting. The curse landed and regained its energy before looking at the other three there. A man with dark hair, a curse that looked like a cyclops and one who looked like the little curse's mother. The small curse immediately flew over to the latter and flitted around his head, chattering happily. The humanoid reached up and caught the small curse, "What are you doing?" "It looks like it is happy to see you.," the dark haired man commented with a smile. "It looks like a grade four, but its energy feel more like a grade two.," the cyclops mentioned and turned to the male humanoid holding the curse, "And it has the same eyes as you do."
The young man nodded and looked back to the small curse that was nuzzling his hand, "What are you doing here? You must be far from your place of birth." "Ma...ma... said.. find brother...," The small curse was able to stumble out a bit of speech, it could not speak as clearly as the one who held him. The eyes of the young man widened and then softened a bit, "So mom sent you to find me and check on me? I'm glad she has some memories of me." The dark haired man rested his head in his palm as he leaned against some rocks and the cyclops took a drag of his pipe. The young man placed his sibling down and tied his light blue hair back before putting his clothes back on after getting out of the hot spring.
"We'll keep on the same path. But, I will have to go see mom soon.," the young man told his allies, "I was going to go see her at a later date, but seeing as she sent my younger sibling to check on me, might as well push the visit to an earlier day." "I have no objections.," the dark haired man replied to the pale skinned humanoid. The greyish-blue cyclops huffed, clearly not looking forward to the future of meeting the young woman when his ally eventually takes her to meet the rest of them. The light blue haired humanoid picked his sibling up from the warm rock he set it on and let the small curse ride on his shoulder. The dark haired man stood, "We need to prepare for the next step. I will collect a few helpers for us." The Dark haired man stood and walked off with the pale young man, leaving the cyclops alone.
The Cyclops sighed like an elderly man and took a puff from his pipe, "Finally, Some more peace and quiet."

(Y/n) walked into the school yet again to work with Yaga to set up for the exchange event, she was a little excited to see what the curse techniques of these kids were. Her silver eyes looked around as she carried some bags onto the grounds. She heard the sound of the kids training their skills again. 'At it again? And so early.,' she thought to herself before walking over to see what was going on. Yaga did not need her for a while, so it would not hurt to watch the children. The silvery-Blue haired young woman walked over to the field and sat on the stone steps to watch the kids train. Two boys, two girls and the panda curse corpse that Yaga had made. The pale skinned and dark haired young man that (y/n) knew as Fushiguro Megumi was doing a bit of weapon training with a dark haired young woman who looked vaguely like him. A whitish haired young man was sparring with the light brown haired young woman, Kugisaki Nobara. Panda was helping both parties train for the event.
Her silver eyes watched the children train, she felt a bit of warmth from watching them. In that moment, she did not feel empty. She opened her bag to retrieve her curse companion, the largest Pollen puff, to hold in her lap and pet. Her slim and pale fingers ran over the fluffy small curse as she watched the kids train, the soft curse dozed in her arms from her petting it. The silvery-Blue haired young woman watched with interest and saw the dark haired young woman look at her from behind her glasses. Fushiguro looked up at her and said something to his companions. The young woman waited as the dark haired young woman walked up to her, "Why are you watching us?" "Just observing your training. Principal Yaga asked me to help with preparations for the event. I'm watching you and waiting for the time to meet with Yaga.," (y/n) answered truthfully as Panda walked up. Panda raised his arm and waved, "Ah, (Y/n)-san. Good to see you. And you have a little friend with you." "Good to see you as well, Panda. You've grown so much, it's a little surprising.," (y/n) smiled and put her hand on her cheek, "I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable with watching you."
"Not really.," Fushiguro commented. The silver haired boy next to Kugisaki did not speak and kept the collar to his jacket zipped around his mouth. "I guess I need to introduce myself. My name is (y/n).," the silvery-Blue haired young woman spoke, "Nice to meet you." "My name is Fushiguro Megumi. This is Zenin Maki.," Fushiguro introduced the bespectacled woman next to him, "The quiet one over there is Toge Inumaki and-." The young man was interrupted by the brunette, "My name is Kugisaki Nobara." "Nice to meet all of you finally, Gojo told me about you.," the silver eyed woman smiled and held her curse. "Hey, you're a sorcerer, right, what grade are you?," Kugisaki asked bluntly, "And why do you have a curse with you?" "Well, I'm not really a sorcerer, I'm a vessel. This curse is one of several that are my friends.," (y/n) answered.
As soon as Fushiguro and Kugisaki heard the word 'vessel', they became sad looking. That made the woman remember, they did not know that Yuji was still alive. She had to be careful when talking to them. "I'm sorry.," the young woman said and bowed. Fushiguro and Kugisaki looked away, pain was present on their faces. "They lost a friend who was also a vessel.," Panda explained, unaware that the young woman was already aware of the event. The Silvery-blue haired young woman held her curse a little tighter, causing the curse to wake and coo a bit. She nodded at the children.
"(Y/n).," she heard a man's voice call her and looked up behind her. It was Yaga, he had come to find her, "You were supposed to be in my office thirty minutes ago, I expect this from Gojo, not you." She turned and bowed toward the man, "I apologize, Yaga-san." The woman raised from her bowing and saw Yaga motion for her to follow. She nodded to him and began to follow before remembering that she had something with her. The silver haired young woman turned back and gave a small bag to the students, "Treats from the shop I work at, help yourselves." (Y/n) quickly followed Yaga to his office, she did not see anyone else nearby or in his office. Yaga motioned for her to sit, "Did you enjoy talking to the students?" "I did. They are all so cute.," the young woman answered while sitting down, "If I could hug them without getting punched, I would."
"You can go talk to them on their break, after you finish this next task I give you. I also need to explain what will happen at the exchange event so you will be ready.," the man spoke. The silver eyed pale woman petted her curse and listened to him speak. She felt a little at ease with him as she listened to him speak. "We will have students from the Kyoto branch come in, along with the principal and another.," Yaga explained, "I must warn you that there will be a young man from that family there." The young woman's body froze up and she gripped the soft curse in her hands tighter. Yaga put his hand up and she felt a light shock to her wrist as a transparent cuff and chain appeared on her, linking her and Yaga together. "Calm yourself.," the sorcerer spoke, "Our pact will hurt you more if you try to hurt him or any of the other sorcerers here." "Understood.," she replied and looked down at her pollen puff companion who was looking up at her, "It still sickens and enrages me to know what that family, that man, did to her."
Yaga bowed his head as the transparent red chain that linked them disappeared, "That was a long time ago, they have paid the price. There is no need to hold a grudge against them." "I know. But I am still angry for her.," (y/n) replied and placed her hand over her stomach, "It's just not right." "Some of the things you did after you came back from that forest was not right.," Yaga commented. "And we were punished for that.," the silver haired woman said as she placed her hand back onto the top of her curse companion that huddled to her body. "Back to the matter at hand. You will be another supervisor of the event, along with Gojo, Utahime and Mei Mei.," Yaga explained. (Y/n) remembered Utahime and Mei Mei, those ladies were powerful sorcerers. She met them once when she went on errands with Yaga. Both were a bit cold to her after learning she was a vessel, but that was normal for Sorcerers.
The silvery-Blue haired young woman smiled, "Sounds fun." "Right now. I need you to collect some curses for us to use for the event. Several small ones and a grade two.," Yaga explained, "I don't care how you get them or what kind they are. Just bring them here and put them on the grounds." "Will do.," (y/n) replied and stood, she walked to leave, stopping before the door. "Something else bothering you?," Yaga asked. "The amount of strong curses appearing has been increasing steadily.," the young woman answered, "Almost as if in reply to the amount of strong vessels and sorcerers being born." Yaga heard her statement, yet did not reply. The woman left to complete her task.

Fresh blood on her hands dripped as she was bound in ropes covered in some sort of paper covered in writing. A man in sunglasses that used moving dolls looked at the child in the ropes, He had a missing poster in his hands. "It's her.," was his only words. The ropes and paper eased the rage, pain and hunger that (y/n) was in. She looked at the missing poster in this man's hands as he knelt down to her. It was her, dark hair in pigtails and a smile on her tanned face. Why did they not see it was her until now? "Do you know how long you have been missing?," the sunglasses wearing man asked as the people behind him either tended to the wounded or told him to get away from the girl. (Y/n) shook her head. "Over a month. Do you remember what happened to you?," the man asked. She tilted her head to the side, trying to understand everything that was happening to her, what had happened to her.
"I was hurt and hungry. He gave me something to eat. He taught me how to fight and hunt.," the girl replied. "Who did?," the man asked. The girl looked up at the sunglasses looking back at her, "My teacher. He said he is something called a 'Curse'." The man did not reply, but he placed his hand on the girl's head. The hand was warm and strong, yet not mean. She felt empty still. The man took most of the bindings off, but left the paper tags on her. He took more tags and wrapped it around her hair and some others around her wrists like bracelets, "There. How does that feel?" "I don't feel hungry or in pain anymore.," the child answered. The man held his hand out, "Then I have a solution for you two, so we don't have to cause more heartache."
The girl took his hand, "What is your name?" "Masamichi Yaga.," the man answered, "And what is your name? Or yours and the one inside of you?" "She did not tell me her name, but mine is (y/n).," the child answered, "Yaga-san, I'm scared. I don't want to be hurt again." "You will not be. I'll make sure of it, but you will have to work for me.," the man, Yaga spoke, "Agree to not harm the students under me or the teachers and to help me or the faculty when we need you. This pact will protect you from other sorcerers who may want to hurt you." (Y/n) nodded, "I- we will." What looked like a transparent red chain appeared on both of them before vanishing.
The pact had been made.
