Chapter five: Businessman sorcerer

Yuji took a sip of water while sitting next to (y/n), they were taking a break from training. The young woman sighed and sipped her tea. "Yuji. Do you ever hear Sukuna talking to you?," The silvery Blue haired woman asked the teen. Yuji looked at her face, she was looking down at her cup. "I do, he is annoying and sometimes creepy. Has yours talked to you?," the reddish haired teen asked. The young woman placed her hand over her stomach, "I have not heard her voice in years." "When she did talk, what was she like?," the brown eyed young man asked. The silver eyed woman smiled, "Kind. She reminded me about things I needed to do and gave assistance to me during fights." "Do you know what grade of spirit she was?," Yuji asked. "I believe she is a special.," the woman answered, "Not as strong as Sukuna when he was at full power, but still tough. Could she be classified as a vengeful spirit? She did go through hell when she was alive." Yuji listened to the musings of the young woman beside him.
Their conversation was cut short by Gojo walking up to them, clapping his hands. "Oi, oi, oi. Get ready for a field trip.," the white haired man grinned. (Y/n) tilted her head in reply to Gojo. The sorcerer grinned, "Go on. Get ready, you two." The young woman got up and went to change, changing into more causal clothes instead of training clothes. She returned and found that yuji had changed back into his uniform. Gojo was in his uniform. "What? You're not going to wear that uniform?," the silver haired man asked. "Is there a reason I should?," the young woman asked. Gojo put his arm around her and showed her a picture on his phone. The young woman flinched, "Fine."

She came back in the female school uniform. Gojo had a wide grin, "There, now we can go see him." "Is this some sick torture, Gojo?," (y/n) asked. She only got a chuckle from the man beside her. "Come on, mom, this could be fun.," Yuji grinned. The silvery haired woman sighed, "alright." Yuji had started to call her 'mom' in response to Gojo making jokes about them being a family. Gojo made a small laugh and tapped her on her back, "Let's go." The three traveled together, riding the train and other transport systems. The pale woman watched as the scenery around her went by, she seemed to be stuck in thoughts of the past. Finally, they arrived at their destination. A small shrine like area in an underground place. Gojo finally told them what was going on, "I'm not going to be able to lead you, Yuji. But don't worry, I'm leaving you with a friend that you can trust." Waiting for them, was a blond man with a sharp suit and speticles. He looked pretty handsome, albeit a bit tired and jaded.
'This guy? I have not seen him in a while. I never learned his name.,' (y/n) thought as her silver eyes looked over the man before her. Her silver eyes met his as she realized he was returning the favor. "You two, meet Nanami Kento! He's an ex-salaryman jujutsu sorcerer!," Gojo cheered as he threw his arm around the man's shoulders. Nanami was very serious and stoic as he spoke, "Please don't call me that." "Plenty of jujutsu sorcerers are oddballs, but Nanami here worked for a company, so he has a good head on his shoulders.," Gojo explained, "He's a first grade sorcerer, too." "I'm sure nobody wants to hear you call them odd.," Nanami commented. "Ex-salaryman? Why didn't you become a sorcerer from the start?," Yuji asked the blond man. (Y/n) nudged the teen beside her and leaned into his ear, "Let's introduce ourselves before asking questions like that."

"I agree.," Nanami said and straightened his posture before bowing to the two, "Nice to meet you, Itadori-kun." Yuji bowed to him in return, "Nice to meet you as well." The man and teen stood again and looked at the young woman, "You brought tha- her as well?" 'What were you about to say?,' the young woman thought before bowing to greet the blond man, "My name is (y/n), nice to finally meet you, Nanami-san." Nanami gave her a small nod before turning back to Yuji, "I studied at Jujutsu High and I learned... That sorcerers are shit!" The sudden outburst stunned both Yuji and (y/n). 'Seriously?,' the silvery blue young woman asked herself. "Then I worked at your typical company and learned something there... Work is shit!," the blond man again declared, "Both are equally shit, So I chose the one I am more suited to." "Is this normal for him?," (y/n) whispered to Gojo as she and Yuji leaned in to talk to the white haired man. "That's dark.," Yuji commented. Gojo leaned in to the two, "Right?"
They went back to listening to Nanami once they needed their little conference. "Itadori-kun, please don't believe that I have tha same mindset as Gojo-san. I do trust and have faith in him.," the suit wearing man spoke, making Gojo's ego shine for a second before finishing his statement, "But I do not respect him!" The young woman sighed, 'Nanami-san is pretty negative.' (Y/n) brushed her bangs from her face and behind her ears. "This conversation is dragging on. In short, I do not recognize either of you as a sorcerer.," Nanami spoke, "Even though Yuji has the bomb we know as Sukuna, and (y/n) has an unknown special grade, please make an effort to at least prove that you are useful."

"No arguments here.," (y/n) replied. Yuji's answer was more somber, "Lately, I have been forced to realize how weak and useless I am. I have to be strong, or I cannot choose how I die. I'll make you recognize me, even without that advice. Just give me a bit more time." The teen smiled and raised his hand in a salute. "Say that to the higher-ups, not me.," Nanami said, "Because frankly, I don't care!" 'Yep. He's definitely a serious and pessimistic man.,' the silver haired woman thought to herself. "I'll just leave you three to it.," Gojo grinned and walked off. When he was gone, Nanami turned back to the two before him. "Follow me.," the man said plainly and led the two out of the meeting place. Their footsteps tapped on the floor as they walked. (Y/n) looked at the lantern stones that lit the path, it reminded her of the area she had been in before. An area from a long time ago.
The sky was overcast and grey when they exited the underground area. There was a familiar car waiting for them. Ijichi was standing by the car, Nanami and the two got into the car and were driven to another familiar area to (y/n). "Wait, I live near here.," the silvery haired young woman spoke and looked out the car window, "Yeah, Granny's shop is down that road." "We're not going to your apartment. There has been some strange activity.," Nanami said, "The sight is particularly disturbing." Ijichi pulled down a road where many emergency personnel and vehicles were. Police, ambulances,  a crying woman being comforted by the policeman beside her. "The bodies of three highschoolers were found after the showing of a movie, their bodies were twisted beyond recognition.," Ijichi explained, "Our job is to investigate the cause of it."

Nanami and Yuji got out if the car, (y/n) followed. She was stopped by Ijichi for a second, "Miss (y/n), you don't have to go with them. I can take you back to granny's. This is official Jujutsu business." "If it has to do with the mischief of a curse, I want to see what kind of curse can do that to a human.," the woman replied and opened her umbrella as the rain started to pour. She walked inside with Yuji and Nanami, going right to the theater room where the three corpses once were. (Y/n) stopped by the security room to check security footage as well as get pictures from the men who worked there. The corpses were misshapen into some sort of surrealist form, barely able to be called human anymore. When she was reviewing the footage, she noticed a teenage boy run out of the theater after the times of death of the boys.
She took a record of the security tape to show Nanami and Yuji, "The look on his face tells me he saw what happened. I need to show this to them and find this boy. He saw who did this." She found the two in the theater and saw the residual energy left by whoever did it and the footprints full of cursed energy left behind. 'If the perpetrator was not caught on the camera, this is a special grade curse.,' the young woman thought to herself as she gave the surveillance recording to Nanami. "Follow the footsteps for as long as you can, tell me where they stop.," the blond man ordered her and took her cell phone before doing something to it and giving it back. She looked at the screen and saw that a number had been added to her contacts, it was Nanami's. "Thank you.," she bowed to the blond and followed the footprints. It was raining outside, so she put the umbrella over her head. "The shape and size indicates a humanoid special grade curse. I wonder what caused this one to form?," the thought aloud to herself, "This is where that boy went. He must have seen the face of the curse who did this. I wonder if he is still alive."

The energy eminating from the footprints was strange. The power began to fade and the trail ended. The young woman looked around, the area was next to a water runoff culvert that had a sewer access point. There would not be anyone hanging around, at least, not human. The silver haired young woman climbed down the ladder to the sewer access tunnel, she saw the gate was broken open. Her phone began to ring. She answered after seeing Nanami's name on the screen, "Nanami-san, the trail ended. But, I found where the curse is more than likely hiding. I can feel a lot of cursed energy down the tunnel." "Give me your location so I can investigate it, I need you to come back. There are more victims.," the blond man told her, "They were forcefully turned into curses and fed a large amount of cursed energy. Yuji and I took care of them."
"How is Yuji taking it?," (y/n) asked as she climbed the ladder to head to where Yuji and Nanami were. "Not so good.," Nanami replied, "The only solice about it, is that the victims were already dead, just moving corpses puppeted by cursed energy." "I see. I'll be back quic-.," the young woman said and faltered a bit. She felt something in the energy of the curse hiding in the sewer. He knew she was there. They were aware of each other's presence. Nanami snapped her out of it, "(y/n) are you still there?" "I am. I just got the feeling that he knows I am here.," the silver haired woman replied. "Then get out of there.," the blond spoke and hung up. The young woman took his advice and ran from the area as quick as possible. That energy. There was no doubt, that was a special curse like the one that found her many years ago!

(Y/n) found Nanami alone in a room in a detached office of the Tokyo municipal Shuuei high school. "Where is Yuji?," the young woman asked. "Looking for the young man you saw in the footage. The boy's name is Junpei.," Nanami replied with a sigh, "Tell me, where is the sewer where the Curse hides?" The silver haired young woman told Nanami where she felt the curse hiding. Something was troubling her about the energy she felt from the curse. Something she could not put her finger on. "Go home to granny. Yuji and I will take care of this.," Nanami told the young woman, "You cannot control your power. The most useful thing you can do is stall with curses you summon. Go home." The silver haired young woman began to speak, yet decided to not argue. "Goodbye, Nanami. See you again, maybe?" She walked out of the office building and back home. The sun was starting to set.
It was a magnificent sunset after a rainy day. She let out a sigh and kept walking. Her footsteps tapped on the pavement as she looked at her phone. She had some messages from Gojo and one from Yuji. There was also one from Yaga. "There's a lot going on right now.," she mused and opened the message from Yaga. The letter told her a summary of a report Gojo gave to Yaga about new special grade spirits that could communicate like humans. 'One that is volcanic and one that uses plants?,' she thought to herself, 'The plant guy sounds a bit familiar.' The young woman put away her phone and kept walking.

She saw a young man walking towards her. He was the one that was at the theater. He looked like he was thinking about things. The teen stopped and looked at her. They both stared at each other before awkwardly smiling and waving at each other. "Hi there. My name is (y/n), what is yours?," the young woman asked. The dark haired teen looked at her a bit more before answering, "Junpei." "Jubpei-kun, it is nice to meet you.," she smiled and bowed. The tee bowed in return, "Nice to meet you as well." The teen looked uneasy, he kept looking at the uniform she wore. "The uniform? Oh, this is not mine. It was lent to me by a friend when I had to suddenly stay overnight.," she chuckled, "I'm going home right now to change."
Junpei looked a little relieved. His eyes looked at hers, "Your eyes. They look like my friend's. So does your hair." "Really?," (y/n) asked and looked at her hair, "That's unusual." "Actually, you look a lot like him. Not just in the hair and eyes, but the face as well.," the teen commented. The young woman was a little bit stunned before smiling, "Could be an unknown family member... Oh, I live nearby, do you want to come have some tea and talk?" "Oh, no, I should be getting home. My mom will worry.," Junpei said. "Alright, have a good night. See you again some time?," (y/n) smiled, "We might talk a bit more then!" "Maybe.," Junpei answered and walked away. The silvery blue haired woman walked home and went to her apartment. She flopped on the bed and sighed as fluffy puffs settled by her body, "So tired."

Meat of the fish she caught squished between her teeth as she tore into the flesh. Her hunger was being satiated by catching and eating the fish, but she needed another type of food. One that would stay with her longer. Sunlight disappeared and stars came out. Night. Again it was time to sleep.
She turned to her teacher, who was watching the area around them. The two had been wandering and training her ability for a while. She was hungry and tired. The large creature looked to the stars and moon, "Time for you to rest. We had a long day." She sat down and curled up on the soft moss below her, using the jacket she had found on a corpse. She was determined to make it out of the forest.
