A breaking glass...

The Pharaoh was in his study room with his Royal Advisor, Jose, A voice whispered in his head and cleared up his mind of endless doubts and questions, he remembered the coming of the Count who manipulated him and used some kind of trick to block his memories and for some odd reason because of that mysterious voice, his head are filling up with information of what happened these past few months, the things he did, affiliations that occured, his people, his Kingdom, his union with the Duchess of Entity, Norton's battle with the Count and especially Eli, his beloved prince. The revelation was quite too much that he gripped his head tightly in confusion, the Royal Advisor saw the Pharaoh's reaction and became worried

"Are you alright, Sire?" The Advisor asked placing a hand on the Pharaoh's shoulder and shook him lightly

"J-Jose... t-the Count where is he?" The Pharaoh asked, still had his hand on his head and modulating his breathing

"He informed me that he had some few errands to do but he'll be back in a month or so. Is there something you need from him? I'll contact him---"

"No"

"No?"

The Pharaoh let out a sharp breath and stared at the Royal Advisor sternly, upon observation the Royal Advisor seemed very anxious by the way he looked at him, his action made the Pharaoh perplexed and questioned himself

Why did the Count want to be my Royal Guard? His position at the High Council is something honorable already, why demote himself to a mere guard working under me?

Why did Jose, my Royal Advisor, recommend him too? Is he a friend or a family to him?

The Pharaoh's stomach churned painfully, he didn't want to doubt his trusted Advisor all these years but his gut is telling him something different, Was Jose working together with Count Jack? His thoughts made his expression grimaced which added confusion on the Advisor's face

"Jose..." Naib spoke in a soft and sorrowful tone,"...Are you working together with the Count?" he asked abruptly

The Royal Advisor's eyes widened, there was fear lingering all over his face, he never wanted any of this, betraying his Pharaoh but what can he do? He was blackmailed, his wife, demi and their baby's lives were jeopardy, he was desperate and puzzled, he wanted to ask for help but threats scared him, he clenched his fist tightly as his sins dawning on him, blaming himself that his actions will cause Maharlika Kingdom's downfall, The Pharaoh saw his Advisors despair and pitied the man

"Jose, I know you have your reason. Don't be scared, I am with you."A soft tone from the Pharaoh calmed the Advisor's heart,"We will defeat the Count at all cost."

"YOU CAN'T SIRE!" The Advisor exclaimed, he knows what power Count Jack held, he even defeated countless deities, The Pharaoh won't stand a chance in defeating him,"The Count is...he's not an ordinary mortal"

"Hm? How so?" The Pharaoh asked curiously, to him The Count looked like a wizard or a necromancer, those celestial elements can be countered by a charm, especially with the Deities artifacts

The Royal Advisor sighed,"I wanted to tell you everything Sire but he imprisoned my wife and my baby, somewhere I do not know."

The Pharaoh sympathized, his Advisor's situation is dire than he thought it would be, he didn't expect that the Count's ways were this dirty, kidnapping women and his child for the sake of plotting against him, he grabbed his advisor's shoulder tightly and spoke strongly,"We'll save them but you have to tell me EVERYTHING Jose, please!"

"Sire..." The Advisor closed his eyes for a moment and opened it once more, he gathered his courage told the Pharaoh everything, from the Count's affiliation with the Duke, his intention of ruling over Maharlika, his captives and that secret project he held in Talim, A small town near the mining area in Maharlika, Naib's caramel orbs dilate in disbelief, he can't believe the damage the Count had caused his kingdom, he's only here for months then he remembered something important, he ran up to his closet and stare at a porcelain box where a beautiful Hourglass stood inside, the gold sand had vanished and the glass had a cracked on it

"Jose, The debt had been paid." The Pharaoh muttered, his eyes bore sadly at the artifact, "And I'm free."

"Pardon?" The Royal Advisor tilted his head curiously

The Pharaoh looked at his Royal Advisor, his eyes shone pure sadness, "I don't know why or how but I have this painful feeling in my heart that Norton is gone and the one who ended his life is the Exorcist from Entity Kingdom, the person he loves." he held his hand together tightly, It was bizarre that the hourglass cracked, it shouldn't happen, the sands should just disappear when the Ancient Debt is fulfilled. The God of Death had two debt, The first one was, he will be killed by the Exorcist and that the Pharaoh's of Maharlika will teach him to value life and death of the Mortals

Did he accomplish all of that? The Pharaoh asked himself

"Then... Norton is gone..." The Royal Advisor hanged his head low, he never knew that the fight with the Count was the last time he would meet the God of Death, he could have at least had a good last memory of him but instead he will be remembered as a traitor in the history of Maharlika in the God of Death's eyes

"Jose, help me defeat the Count once and for all, In doing so, will absolve you of your treason." The Pharaoh spoke in a demanding and concerned tone, "Don't worry I'll keep my act and I'll pretend I'm still under his control and when he lets his guard down, we apprehend him and we'll be able to save your wife and your baby."

"Understood." Jose bowed lightly,"Let's start off with Count Jack's abducting the Deities residing in Maharlika."

"HOLD UP! He's abducting the Deities!? How is that possible???"

"He's using the Moon Crystal you gave him, to summon the deities, Sire..."

"How did he... don't tell me..."

"He controls you and orders you to give him the Moon Crystal. I'm so sorry, Sire." The Royal Advisor furrowed his brows, seeing the Pharaoh covered his face and groaned,"The reason he summoned the Deities is to extract their spiritual energy and transfer it Stairway to heaven, A celestial laser to break Devas, the realm of the God and Goddess."

"What. The. Actual. Hell."

"That's not all, Sire." The Royal Advisor continued,"I've heard the Duke and the Count talked about being rulers of Anima, obtaining the light and the dark crystal for their own"

"So, they know the Light and Dark Crystal's origin, I knew Entity Kingdom had something to do with the Goddess' disappearance" The Pharaoh growled in resignation,"This is a mess... Norton's dead... Eli's missing... Lumina is suffering... Maharlika has no more protection... Anima is in a swirling natural disaster. How worse can this get, The Duke really planned everything well, He will destroy Anima and renew the world with him on the top."

The Royal Advisor didn't say anything and looked at his Pharaoh while he paced back and forth, frustrated by the news, there must be something they could do but the two were a little bit disoriented by everything. With one last breath, Naib snapped his fingers and surprised Jose.

"We have no choice but to release the beast locked in Maharlika."

"Wait, are you talking about the Sand Dragon?"

"Yes, The Sand Dragon that my ancestor accidentally summoned that almost destroyed Maharlika." The Pharaoh explained, before Jose could reason out with him, he continued,"Don't worry Jose, the Sand Dragon will abide by my request, the Lunar Royals are affiliated with the Pharaoh's of Maharlika all these years..."

"And? What about the Lunar Royals?"

"Didn't you know, the Lunar Royals were descendants of the Dragons, that's why Eli and his family hide their eyes because it holds their lineage power." The Pharaoh expounded leaving the Royal Advisor's eyes widened,"Eli is a Lunar Dragon, the first beings created by the ruler of Anima."

"Is that why the Sand Dragon will help you? Help us?" The Royal Advisor asked dubiously

"Yes, don't worry. I have a plan."

With that last conversation, The Pharaoh head towards the castle's underground and visit the Sand Dragon prison chamber, It won't be an easy task to heed the Sand Dragon's trust but he just have to believe and have to be brave enough to save his kingdom and Anima

Back in Bermuda, Aesop and Eli decided to talk to Lucky, Servais, Freddy and Tracy. Aesop filled everyone with the details about his journey with Norton, Vera and William and the fact that he and Eli needs to travel back to Maharlika to save the Pharaoh who is currently under the Count of the High Council's control, the four looked at each other in confusion, It'll be dangerous to go against the Count with just the two of them and they can't assist them either, it'll jeopardize their army and the people residing at Bermuda

"I won't allow you to go, Eli." Lucky spoke in a serious tone, Eli looked at him pleadingly and he just stared back at him,"It's too risky, I believe in your best friend's capabilities but It doesn't change the fact that your life is at risk here, please do understand, I'm worried about you."

Eli sighed and tried to reason out,"Thank you, Lucky but Naib needs me and---"

"No." Lucky sternly reply cutting Eli off, Aesop was beginning to get pissed off, he didn't know who was this guy but it looks like Eli is ready to give up reasoning and stay here in bermuda

"Just who the hell are you to tell Eli what to do?" Aesop retorted, earning a glare from Lucky,"I'll protect Eli, even if it cost my life."

"Good job on doing that. Last time I checked you left him for two years, after you escaped and now you're telling me you're going to protect him even if it cost your life, you're pathetic!" Lucky talked back, Aesop growled in anger, this guy didn't know how much he wanted to return in Lumina years ago to get Eli back, he marched towards him, ready to punch him across the face, Tracy became alarmed get in between the two

"Please stop! No fighting!" Tracy extended her hand on the two, death glaring at each other ,"NOTHING CAN BE SOLVE THROUGH VIOLENCE! Remember? Eli taught us that."

"Fine..." Lucky growled, slouching in his seat, Aesop get back on his seat beside Eli

"In any case, I will accompany Eli and Aesop." Servais suggested taking a cup of tea, the room went silent and everyone's eyes widened

"Sir, you can't just leave the hideout it's too risky and you're our leader and Eli is second in command how are we supposed to stand without the two of you here!?" Freddy exclaimed, flailing his hands frantically

"I give Eli and my authority to Lucky, surely everyone in this room can plan for the army without me or Eli, you all have brains you know. I trust all of your abilities." Servais smiled as he pat Freddy shoulders

"Sir, thank you so much for offering to escort us." Eli bowed politely

"Thank you..." Aesop said simply

"We need to leave early in the morning, let's pack our things up this afternoon, we need to prepare a lot if we're facing the Count to save the Pharaoh." Servais commanded, he stood up, dusted himself and left the room, the group could not refuse his command and just silently leave the meeting room

When Eli went back to his room and prepare, Aesop decided to do his errands as well but was stopped by Lucky before he was entering his room, the two shared the heavy tension from earlier but Aesop chose to control himself, he didn't want to cause any comotion and besides this guy is one of Eli's friends, he didn't want to punch him in the face.

"What do you want?" Aesop asked coldly

"Sorry about earlier." Lucky sighed, Aesop felt perplexed with his actions but his worries disappeared when the man in front of him smiled,"Take care of Eli and Teach for us." he nervously patted Aesop's shoulder and turn his heel

"You... Do you like Eli?" Aesop asked bluntly, the way Lucky acts and look at Eli seemed like someone who had a crush on him, Lucky didn't say anything and just kept his back on Aesop,"You don't have to say anything, I'm just curious but thanks for liking Eli, he seemed to be fond of you too and he trust you a lot."

Lucky chuckled and looked at Aesop,"No biggie and yes, I do like Eli and I know he wont like me back but that's okay as long as you can let him and Naib meet again, all is well for me."

"Oh, You're a very understanding guy."

"I just had the same experience that's all. Guess, it's my punishment?" Lucky chuckled sadly, Aesop's expression is telling Lucky to share more but he knows this guy won't ask that so he continued,"Back then, someone loves me so much but I was too blind to love him back..."

"Ah..." Aesop narrowed his eyes on the floor, playing with tips of his silver strands, he knew how that felt and continued to listen to Lucky's tragic love story

"Then, he told me he wouldn't be able to visit or see me again once he entered the council and asked me if there is a small ray of hope that I would be his lover and asked me to marry him, would I say yes to him?" Lucky let out a breath,"I was so confused with my feelings for him, I chose to walk away, took him for granted and look at me now, I regret every single word and actions I did..."

"Lucky..."

Lucky's tears fell in his cheeks, reminiscing his past broken heart,"I miss him so much, I realized it was too late, guess I was just patching the hole he left with Eli's kindness, I'm stupid huh? I'm being punished for what I did."

"You're not stupid, It's alright to be afraid and confused of your feelings, not knowing what you will respond to that person, to regret your actions, It's better to realize those things earlier than never right." Aesop spoke softly, he never knew the pain he received from losing Norton would helped someone like this, maybe that's the Goddess will for him, to aid someone's broken heart,"It's not too late to tell him how you feel, believe that he still loves you, that your feelings are strong to reach his heart. After all, love keeps us alive."

"Aesop..." Lucky smiled brightly at him,"Thank you, your words are really encouraging. I will keep that advice, I'm glad we had this conversation, I never expect you to have that kind of experience in love"

"Well, a broken heart makes us wiser."

"I hope you mend your broken heart too."

"Someday..."

The two went back to their respective rooms to pack and rest, Aesop kept on staring what Norton has left him, he wondered why Norton loves someone like him so much when in the first place he didn't deserve someone like him at all, he took out the love letter Norton gave him and shuffle through it, he can't understand it at all, he sighed and laughed at the same time, even in death Norton is still this playful God he knows when Aesop reached for the last letter, it was surprising, he can understand it and it wasn't written in an ancient tongue, he read it thoroughly and remembered that song.

It was back when they were at Yuma, Training Eli, William, Vera and Norton self defense and tactics. Eli having no experience have it harder for Aesop to train him, he was very rough on him, luckily Eli didn't give up easily, without Aesop's supervision he was training day and night alone, William on the other hand is practicing his survival and blacksmith skills and with Aesop's help and knowledge he can now add deadly poison in it, Vera was quite different, she's more skilled in stealth attacks and she focused on that, Norton often teased him while he trained and Aesop could worry less for that silly God, he know so well that he can take care of himself

One morning, everyone was exhausted after a long training, Aesop told everyone he'll take a stroll around town, the three gave him a thumbs up and rest for a while BUT not Norton, he wanted to spend time with him no matter what, he was very persistent so Aesop just let him do whatever he wants

"Why do you love hanging out with me?" Aesop gave Norton a glare, he was always tailing him from behind, almost EVERYWHERE, It was annoying at first but then he got used to it and just ignore him all the way

Norton snickered, Aesop knew that's a sign that this conversation will end up flirting with him for the millionth time,"You still owe me a date~"

"What date!? I didn't OWE you any date! What do you mean by that?" Aesop exclaimed, he didn't know they have a deal like that, Norton might be making things up to tease him

"Remember we stroll around Maharlika and I save YOU for being lost, hm~" Norton leaned closer to Aesop's face, twitching his brows up and down

"So?" Aesop raised a brow at him

"It's normal to repay me back~" Norton happily replied with his matching playful grin

"What the hell, So, that's your true intentions, if you help someone, you must be rewarded? What a selfish God" Aesop growled at him, walking angrily away from Norton

"NO! I just...I mean... like um...Ah! That's not---I...I..." Norton stammered when he saw the pained look on Aesop's silver eyes, he didn't expect that he would be hurt with that joke

Aesop saw Norton struggling, he looked like he regret what he just said and Aesop can't help but to giggle, "I'm kidding, Norton." Norton sighed in relief, seeing Aesop smile again,"Okay, whatever, date, hang out, I'll take you around Entity, Happy?"

Norton's onyx orbs glittered by Aesop's suggestion"YES! Thank you!"

Both of them left Yuma in a carriage and entered the main city in disguise, Norton went to Entity a lot of times already during his lifetime, it never failed to amaze him how they keep their Kingdom vintage, It was still how it is years ago but the only things that changed are the people of Entity Kingdom, he felt like the Entician's actions were somewhat odd, Sad? Confused? He wasn't sure, they are a kingdom of pride after all

"Follow me, Norton. I'll show you something nice." Aesop grinned, motioning Norton to follow him, Norton nodded and dash towards Aesop

While walking, Norton halted when he heard a broken tune from the streets, he turned around to see children playing an improvised instruments such as tamboline, mini guitar and maracas in the side of the road, asking alms from the passerby, they look so young, ragged and hungry, It broke his heart, how invisible they are to the crowd.

"Aesop, Wait a minute." Norton called and walked towards the children with a smile,"That's a very lovely music you're playing. Also..." he took one of their instruments and fixed the strings,"...It'll help you play better."

The children looked at each other in confusion, Norton took out his guitar and strummed the strings gently,"I'll teach you how to play." The children's eyes brightened, they nodded at his suggestion, from afar Aesop was observing Norton helping the children of Entity. After their little musical session and small talk, Norton stood up, running back to Aesop and looked apologetically

"I'm sorry, I made you wait... when I looked at those children, It breaks my heart to see them and I..." Aesop put his index finger in Norton's lips to stop him from explaining

"Norton, It's alright. Thank you for helping my people and look" Aesop pointed at the smiling faces of those children playing their instruments, the passerby gathered around them until their performance was finished, claps and tips were given to the children, the three happily stared at Norton waving their hands at him,"You made them happy." aesop mumbled

"I'm glad then!"

"I hope our Kingdom will be as pure as Lumina and as lively as Maharlika." Aesop kicked a pebble under his feet,"...Wishful thinking."

"What do you mean by that Aesop?" Norton crane his head at Aesop

"Look around you Norton, No one is happy. We're a powerful Kingdom yet you see poverty everywhere, our people are dying, children are in the streets, hungry and cold, women become prostitutes to earn money, men join the army for the same reason, aristocrats kill each other for greed, This Kingdom is hell in Anima." Aesop clutched his chest tightly in agony, he didn't mean to complain, it just hurt him to see his people suffered like this for years

"Aesop, Lighten up. Just open your eyes to all the possibilities." Norton brushed Aesop's silver strands behind his ears,"Not all Entician is what you say they are. I'll show you."

Norton walk near the walls in the city, creating colorful graffiti, touched the trees and flowers to blossom and create little christmas lights to lighten the city, the Entician's eyes glimmered from the gorgeous display Norton had showed

Norton run to the fountain side, taking out his guitar, gliding his fingers through the strings creating a melody, the water in the fountain burst up in the sky, creating little drops like a sparkling rain shower engulfing the main city

Aesop halted his tracks and stare at the beautiful streets in Entity, It was lively with the crowd, he keeps hearing Norton singing but couldn't figure out where he was and was a little bit surprised with what he was singing as of the moment,"He can sing in a language we both can understand after all." He chuckled, listening to his voice while he watched the people of Entity smiling before him, It really warms his heart how powerful Norton's singing is

Norton took his time looking at the people of Entity kingdom, smiling walking towards an old couple sitting outside their houses, taking their hands in his and let them hold each other, a couple of teenager, letting the guy drape his hand across the lady's shoulder, earning a soft giggle from them and walking up to the women in a beautiful business attire and gave her a flower to give it to the lady at the flower shop. When he reached the middle of the city, he saw Aesop standing in the middle looking for him, he covered his eyes which made Aesop flinched and turned around to see him with a big grin on his face, saying the last piece of his note

"I'm gonna love you" Norton smiled sweetly and winked at Aesop

"How cheesy." Aesop rolled his eyes at him while grinning subconsciously,"So, you CAN sing a song that I can understand after all."

"Do you like it~"

"I love it." Aesop bopped his nose and cupped Norton's hand in his,"Come on there's still something I need to show you, idiot. You took up so much of our time singing around town."

Norton chuckled, gripping Aesop's hand. They both went in the other side of the main city and into a mysterious meadow, to Norton's surprise it was colorful flower field, a hill full of blossoms, Aesop released their hand and run up the hill, calling out to Norton, instead of being happy seeing a beautiful sight, Norton was very terrified, he remembered the underworld, the garden of the dead he lived in for centuries, he crouched down trying to sway all those painful memories away, when Aesop saw him struggling, he immediately run up to Norton and held his face in his hands

"Norton, what's wrong?" Aesop asked worriedly

"I... I remembered the underworld... I... uh... that place... the garden... the dead people and my sin..." Norton keep blinking avoiding Aesop's gaze

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to make you feel bad.." Aesop cast his eyes down, he knew Norton was in pain, he shouldn't have brought him here, that was very insensitive of him

Norton took Aesop's hand in his,"No, thank you. I'm sorry I didn't mean to make you sad, I know you're only doing this to make me smile, thank you. I love it. It's just my dummy head is negative sometimes, I'm an idiot remember?" he joked to ease Aesop's worries

Aesop leaned in to give Norton a soft kiss,"Feel better?"

"Did you just kiss me?" Norton's onyx eyes widened and was smiling from ear to ear,"Can I have one more again."

"Maybe later." Aesop giggled, lifting Norton up,"Come on, there's still something I need to show you. No more flowers."

Aesop dragged Norton again, this time a lake, with the sky reflected in it, Norton was a little bit confused. What's so special about a lake? Then Aesop sat down at the grass, patting his empty side to let Norton sit with him, he followed. Both of them are in deep silence, when Norton was about to speak, he saw a beautiful stallion with a golden horn

"A UNICORN!" Norton exclaimed,"Woah! I've seen them in our realm but they're shy creature and they choose their owners, to be honest I wanted to have one of those majestic creatures but they run away as soon as I want to hold them." he frowned earning a giggle from Aesop

"Is that so? I'll show you my trick on how to make them friendly with you"

"Huh?"

Aesop grinned at Norton and whistled to call the Unicorn's attention. When the stallion heard, he immediately ran to Aesop and nuzzled his cheeks while Aesop brushed his mane. Norton was very surprised how Aesop did that. Aesop extended his hand towards Norton, taking his hand to touch the unicorn, Norton's heart jumped in joy.

"I can't believe this. You must have had a pure heart for this creature to like you." Norton praised, his onyx eyes fixated on Aesop's silver orbs

"I don't know, magical creatures are always fond of me." Aesop replied as he let the unicorn go, Norton placed a marigold flower in Aesop's ears, he got a little bit flustered playing with the tip of his silver tresses

"Marigold looks pretty on you." Norton grinned at Aesop, placing his chin on his palms, looking at Aesop dreamily

"Thanks... I guess." Aesop's cheeks turned pinkish, his silver eyes glittered by Nortons compliments

"Well, Mi Amor, you're pretty in general." Norton chuckled but he didn't say anything in return but just smiled,"I really love you, Aesop~"

Aesop got too nervous with all Norton's shenanigans and made his heart beat so fast so he changed the subject,"So, regarding the lives of the Deities, the gods and goddess of Anima, when they die, do they Vanish?"

Norton looked at Aesop dubiously,"Why in the loving Anima would you ask or think about dying gods? Do you want to kill me or something?"

"What!? No! I was just curious, that's all"

"¿Me amas lo suficiente como para no matarme?" Norton grin at Aesop, making the other roll his eyes at him

(Do you love me enough not to kill me?)

"Ugh, this conversation is getting dumber every second, I might catch your stupidity"

"I'm just kidding Mr. Grumpy"

"You know a lot of people always tell me I have a grumpy face, Do I really have a grumpy face?"

"Yes, Grumpy but pretty~"

"So, You ONLY love me because I'm pretty?"

"That's one of the few things I love about you"

"Is that so, what else do you love about me? I would love to know."

"I will tell you, If you tell me Te Amos Muchos, Norton."

"What!? Go jump off a cliff, Norton."

"Wow, I'm touched." Norton pouts while Aesop snickered at his reaction,"Well, to answer your first question, Yes and No, Yes we will vanish if we die and No if there are special factors when we die."

"Special Factors?"

"It's complex to explain actually, depends on the situation, The Goddess of Anima will be your final verdict whether you should live, die or be revive as a god or whatever she wants, They created us anyway"

"They?"

"I mean...! HER! S-Sorry... it's her."

"Interesting and here I thought the creator wouldn't give the deities a chance. So, Gods and Goddesses can be revived... maybe, through prayer...hm, I've never prayed before..."

"Yeah, Anima is full of mystery."

After reminiscing that moment, Aesop slouched his whole body on his bed and stared at the ceiling and prayed with all his heart. I want to see Norton again. He keep on chanting those words until he fall into a deep slumber, On the other side of the room Eli's already packed the things he needed, Servais entered his room and walked to him quietly

"Oh, sir." Eli bowed politely,"What brings you here?"

"I wanted to tell you something important, my boy." Servais sat down at the corner of Eli's bed and patted the empty side,"It's about my identity."

"Ah, I remembered you don't trust me back then that's why you couldn't and it's okay sir if it's still hard for you to trust me, I completely understand."

"I trust you." Servais placed his hand on Eli's head, smiling as he did,"You see, I'm one of the angels that served under the God of Anima."

"Wait huh!? Which God in Anima!?" Eli exclaimed

I see that he doesn't know who the God of Anima yet. Servais mumble, "I served the creators of Anima, one of the primeval creations of the great rulers, I'm a seraphim, Eli." he declared

"I'm a little bit confused and I'm so surprised about this revelation, You're a seraphim and rulers of Anima?"

"It's really confusing to explain any further, the truth was kept hidden all these years after all, also since my kind is extinct from a long time ago and we're reduced to myths, the people of Anima think we never existed in the first place but what they do not know is that we were extinct, during the battle of the first Crystal War." Servais explained vaguely,"It's a long story, Eli, but for now, that is all I want to say."

"I'm still a little bit confused with all of that but thank you for telling me, Sir."

"Don't mention it and besides you're already a family to me. I'm more grateful to you than anything."

The next day the three of them head towards Maharlika riding a carriage conducted by Servais, Eli and Aesop looked up the bright sky with a small talk here and there until dawn, Eli suddenly opened up a topic that would reopen Aesop's wounded heart

"I remember I asked you to sneak out of Lumina Palace two years ago to go to Maharlika, here we are again, doing the same thing." Eli chuckled reminiscing that moment, he and Naib fought back then, it was a little bit childish but it made him realize a lot of things

"How nostalgic." Aesop smiled, remembering Maharlika's beautiful kingdom while he gaze towards the Chinchorro Desert

"I got to see Naib, got overly jealous and cried, thanks for being there for me, I wouldn't have made it this far without you, Aesop." Eli smiled at Aesop, remembering how thankful and blessed he is to have a caring friend like him,"Oh yeah! You get to date that Musician~ You were all giddy and shy about it! Don't deny, You LIKE him toooooo!"

While Eli was teasing Aesop, his tears began to spill in his eyes, he can't contain his sadness and the agony he's been carrying anymore, he doesn't have the courage to control himself, Eli was baffled, he wondered if he said something wrong, he immediately held him tight in his arms and let him sob in his chest

"I killed him Eli! I don't deserve to live! It should have been me who died! I don't deserve his love!" Aesop keeps on shouting all his feelings away, he keeps his heart rock hard but his walls are breaking apart, slowly, the guilt of losing someone who loves him especially when it was too late to tell him he loves him back, that heavy feeling broke him even more.

After that display, Aesop felt his heart engraved with the pain and misery after telling Eli about the recent events that happened in his life, just discussing how Norton sacrificed his life to save him was torturing him. The feeling of agony, regret and loneliness looming inside his head, what's worse is that they have to travel to Maharlika, it didn't make him feel any better, that Kingdom hold so many memories of Norton, especially when he took him out on a stroll around town, how can that beautiful moment break his heart now.

The long travel was about to end, the three visit Kurt's place first, they were always welcome with happiness and warmth, the explorer made them rest a bit, in a short while a woman with dark dreadlocks entered their home and introduced herself as Patricia and told them she was the Goddess of Witchcraft, FATE, Patricia told them she was acquainted with Norton and the Pharaoh's of Maharlika and willing to help infiltrate the Palace if necessary, she also told them they have to be cautious with the Count and filled them up with details, Eli's heart was broken knowing that Naib was being used for months now, the enemies are gaining advantage each and every day, they need to turn the table and work fast. Patricia also told them she talked to Naib and he broke out of his control already

With Patricia's guidance, she guide them through the hidden corridors in Maharlika which Norton had taught her until they reached the Pharaoh's quarters, luckily the Pharaoh was there, upon seeing Eli, his caramel eyes lit in joy but it suddenly vanished when he saw the Entician Guard beside him, he clenched his fist hard, he couldn't control his anger and charged at Aesop to punch him hard enough to make his nose bleed and lose his balance, Naib grabbed his collar before he fell in the ground

"YOU BASTARD! How dare you come here after you murdered my brother!?" Naib shouted, his eyes were filled with rage and sadness, Aesop didn't flinch, his eyes fixed on the floor, Naib wasn't pleased with his silence,"SAY SOMETHING DAMMIT! You're fucking heartless! I bet you played with Norton's heart until you didn't need him anymore!"

Naib kept shaking Aesop violently trying to get a plausible explanation from him but he remained unmoving, he got irritated and give Aesop another violent punch, making him grit his teeth from the pain, his blood splattered all over the floor

"NAIB! Please, let him go!" Eli spoke, tugging Naib's arm but he clicked his tongue at the prince and gave him a glare

"Don't tell you're going to defend this bloody murderer, Eli!" Naib hissed,"Thanks to him, Norton is dead!"

"...He's right, Eli. It's my fault" Aesop spoke morosely, avoiding any eye contact to hide his sadness and guilt

"Aesop, we both know that isn't true." Eli sighed exasperatedly,"Naib, I said, LET. HIM. GO."

Naib calmed down from Eli's demanding tone and released Aesop's from his grasp, letting him fall on his knees. Eli quickly run up to him and wiped his bloody face worriedly

"Eli, let's go." Naib spoke coldly but Eli just looked at him and shook his head

"I can't leave him like this, Naib, Aesop is my best friend."

"Tch... fine... I'll be waiting for you in the library then." Naib walked away, trying his best to control his rampaging emotions, Eli let out a sharp breath and continued wiping Aesop's face,"Are you okay, Aesop? Shall we call a medic?"

"...Why didn't you go with him, Eli."

"I won't leave you alone like this, Aesop. I won't let you suffer alone, I will speak for him for you. I never ever want to see Naib treating you like this ever again, you don't deserve this."

Aesop just stared at Eli sadly and sighed,"He had the right to do it anyway because of me Norton is dead."

"Shh, Aesop. Don't say those things, It was his decision, don't blame yourself for it, if he was here or he heard you, it would hurt him that his sacrifice caused you pain and suffering." Eli brushed Aesop's silver tresses,"I know you would do the same for Norton because you love him as much as he loves you."

Eli enveloped Aesop in his arms tenderly, he gripped Eli's clothes tightly burying his face in his shoulder, trying his best not to cry at the moment. Eli cradled Aesop and softly hummed

Eli tilted his head dubiously and giggled,"Yes, It's a lullaby my mother used to sing when I was small, to make me fall asleep. It's lovely isn't it?"

"Then, I'll sing it for you even if you don't want to fall asleep, it will ease your heart." Eli embraced Aesop again, rocking him back and forth while patting his head,"You will ask Patricia later right? To ask for Norton's room"

"Yes." Aesop nodded,"Eli, thanks for not leaving me."

After that little moment, the two part ways, Eli headed towards to the Library to meet Naib, while Patricia waited for Aesop at the hallway, he shared to her everything that Norton did for him, Patricia didn't say anything and just lead Aesop to Norton's quarters

"You truly are special to him." The Goddess mumbled, standing in front a beautiful gold plated door with emerald decorations

Aesop looked at Patricia curiously,"Why do you say that?"

"You are the first person to enter this room with his consent. Nobody, not even the Pharaoh who summoned him entered his quarters" The Goddess explained and turned her heel to leave Aesop alone, he took a deep breath, unlocking the door and slowly opened it

The first thing he felt was a warm breeze with a floral scent and at that moment it made him smile a bit, he was a little bit doubtful... he wanted to cry as he closed the door. The room's aura reminded him of the God who saved his life, as if Norton never left him in the first place. Aesop could still feel his presence, he felt like Norton was wandering close to him, enveloping him in an embrace and gently whispering in his ears

"...I miss you so much, Norton." He muttered, inspecting the room from every corner, The place itself was pretty cozy, surrounded by warm soft lights provided by the candles, in the middle of the room lay a king size bed with purple mattress and a few pieces of elegant furnitures, by the window there were few dried marigolds and snowdrops, another flower took his attention, two carnations, one was deep red and the other was pink

"Deep love and..." Aesop took time before recalling the symbol of the other flower,"...I will never forget you." He knew the meaning of these flowers, even if Norton wasn't by his side anymore, it felt like he was communicating with him through these beautiful blossoms.

Aesop keep on tracing his fingers around the place and the inscriptions by the walls caught his attention, Dilim and Liwanag, He remembered Eli mentioned it before, it was what the names that Luminarians had for the two celestial division of Anima, Underworld, the land of the dead and Devas the land of the divine, these names was for Entity and for Maharlikans, those planes were named Qhana and Ch'iyara, Wenumapu for the Underworld, different culture and beliefs.

The underworld was encrypted in one of these walls, it was decorated with majestic illustrations, full of different types of flowers, surrounded by eternal darkness but with dim blue lights that represents the soul of the mystical creature who passed away, Aesop was so absorbed by the beauty inside Norton's room but behind these gorgeous patterns, lies that lonely and cold world, a prison for that one God, a pain he had to bear for centuries, a few moment of having his eyes bore in those decorated walls he finally noticed that white guitar resting against the wall, the strings were broken and there are dust in it's wooden screen, it was different from the last time he saw Norton playing his guitar. That guitar was the musician's company, playing those sweet melody along with the musician's angelic voice

Aesop walked towards desk, humming one of the songs Norton used to sing to him, he sat at the chair and pulled out the letter Norton left for him,"The Original Sin..." he muttered and began to read the parchment

The Original Sin

When Anima was young, it was filled with pure light and pure darkness, two primeval being had been born, namely Orpheus, The God of Space, the protector of the Light Crystal and Nightingale, The Goddess of Time, the protector of the Dark Crystal, The two built a beautiful paradise in eternal light and darkness, where Mortal, Deities and Magical Creatures can roam in peace and harmony, being watched over by the two Primeval Siblings

One day, that peace was disrupted when the Primeval Goddess wanted to claim both of the crystal and be the only ruler of Anima, the siblings battle for power, their fight caused a colossal damage to their creation thus separating Anima to three continent, Equinox, Axial and Solstice

The God of Space, divided his Light Crystal and passed it to the Kingdoms of Equinox, the Sun, Moon and the Star, the God kept the Star Crystal, unfortunately, because of the division of the Light Crystal's power, the Goddess of Time stole the Sky Crystal and the God of Space claimed the Dark Crystal to balance the power of the crystals, he imbued it to his soul and in doing so, the Goddess can never have it back unless she defeats her brother, this action angered the Goddess making her separate the realm of the Deities and the realm of the Mortals, living and dead.

Her anger did not stopped there, she summoned the demons to do her bidding and the God of Space was forced to summon his angels and protect Anima from the Goddess wrath, years of conflict, the God had defeated the Goddess which made her give up and fled to the realm of the Mortals

Years later, the Goddess came back to take back the throne once again and this time she asked for the desaulniers household's aid, promising them power, the Goddess defeated her brother and imprisoned him in the darkest depth of the Underworld and will never see the light ever again, with her vile efforts, the Goddess ruled over Anima, tricking everyone, even the lower deities, letting them believe that she was the only ruler of Anima, fabricating information as if her brother never existed at all.

The God never lost hope that one day, he would return to the light once again, he passed his power, soul and all of his remains to me, the God of Death, I became the successor and protector of the Dark Crystal and if you are reading this Aesop, it's because I no longer exist in this world and you might be wondering If I'm already gone, who will protect the Dark Crystal?

.... I passed it to you, Aesop Carl, you are the new protector of the Dark Crystal, I couldn't tell you what it does or what kind of immense power it holds but let me ask you---No, I beg you, Please, help us to defeat the Goddess of Time and restore balance in Anima to put an end to the Goddess madness once and for all... I have faith in you, I trust you with all my heart and soul for this important task.

Aesop was baffled, he didn't know how to react or think about the letter, especially the revelation about Anima's true origin. The Goddess, that divine being that everyone had always prayed for was just a creature full of greed, like the Mortals, like the Desaulniers.

By reflex, he placed his right hand in his chest, in that place that he was stabbed with his sacred sword, it was surprising that it left a scar, Aesop smiled,"...You trust me so much..." he closed his eyes, a few tears dripped from his eyes trickling his cheeks before he opened them again with determination, his silver eyes were being mixed in purple hues

"I vow to do your will, Soul Catcher, I will defeat the Goddess and restore Anima in its original glory"

Meanwhile in Lumina things were starting to be more violent and chaotic, the once beautiful city of pure and light was surrounded in grief and fear, blood were being painted across the city, the people were dying with hunger and despair, the Entician Soldiers attacked innocent Luminarians without mercy, the migrants from Entity made fun and discriminate Lumina's citizen, their prayers weren't heard and the suffering were endless, everytime they did something that is against Entity public executions were being carried in the town square, It was pure madness but Luminarians do not break that easily, they cling to that one beacon of hope, SEVEN HEAVENS Revolutionary Army the people who are determined to end this chaos once and for all, saving their homeland

Inside that white marbled castle and was securely being protected by Entician Royal Guards, Vera walked inside in it's vast halls, the outside is restless yet the castle remained calm, she took a deep breath before entering the Duke's office, upon seeing her presence the Duke smiled and gesture her to come over and take a seat in front of his desk.

"Well done, Vera. Your information played a huge part in our victory." The Duke took two glasses and a wine, preparing one for each of them,"Count Jack defeated the god of death and I had my chance to kill that traitor Carl back in Yuma."

Vera's eyes flickered with the additional intel she heard and asked in a monotone voice,"So, Norton is imprisoned inside Maharlika right now?"

The Duke took a sip of the wine and laughed sarcastically,"Oh good heavens no." he smirked at her while he played at the tip of the glass,"He escaped and sacrificed his life for Aesop. Can you believe that? What a foolish God, indeed, giving his life to one of the descendants who stole his power and vowed to kill him, How utterly pathetic!"

Vera sighed exasperatedly and stared at the Duke with a tinge of anger in her cerulean orbs,"Joseph."

"Hm?"

"Our original plan was to stay together, I agree to all of this because our goal is to bring your brother, Claude and my sister Chloe back to life. Did you already forget how the Desaulniers, those Royal Family of Entity Kingdom, killed them both? Poisoned them and brand them as traitors of the Kingdom."

The Duke clicked his tongue in irritation but Vera stared at him sternly and kept saying the truth to him

"You're becoming one of them, Joseph, A cold, heartless bastard who took away everything from innocent people and manipulated others to do your bidding for you." Vera waited for the Duke's reaction to her provocation and to her surprise, she was greeted by his cruel smirk

"But it worked didn't it?" The Duke spoke in a vile tone,"I planned to kill Jerry and Aloysia Carl years ago, they refuse the Royal Family of Entity, they didn't want to hand over the Sacred Blade, they're stubborn and strong willed unlike their son, Aesop, But he betrayed me, It's all because of that silly and pathetic prince of Lumina." he growled in anger, that resentment he felt loom inside his heart again,"It's just a matter of time that Aesop will come back and begged on his knees like a loyal dog he is."

Vera stood up and had enough, she walked to the door and held the knob tightly, looking at the Duke one last time, her eyes were full of pain and disappointment, she softly whispered,"I wonder, what would Claude think about you...how would he feel when he sees what kind of monster you've become..."

She walked out of the room and left the Duke thinking to himself as he mumbled,"... He's not here anymore." his heart and soul left him the day his brother was ruthlessly murdered, the only reason why he kept himself sane is because he had to protect his two adoptive sisters

While walking around, Vera ducked her head at the window, her eyes were filled with empathy and sorrow, the Kingdom of Lumina has become a hellish playground for the Enticians, she was heartbroken how many innocent Luminarians must endure these suffering, they did not deserve this torment at all

I still have to stay by his side...This is my promise to you, Chloe...

She thought to herself, the Captain noticed the former Royal Advisor and approached her, he smiled at the young woman and noticed her forlorn expression

"Did something bad happen, Ms. Nair." The Captain spoke with concern

Vera shook her head lightly,"Captain Alonso, may I ask you something?" the Captain nodded kindly, leading her to the bench by the small garden at the castle,"Why are you still following Joseph's orders? Surely, you know of his cruelty and madness, for someone as noble as you is working under a heartless dictator, I do not understand your intent."

The Captain let out a sharp breath, staring at the horizon sadly,"I have been serving the Desaulniers Household for as long as I can remember, It's a part of me now, my honor and loyalty lies in Entity's Royal family." he held onto his chest, touching his most prized medals,"I also fear them, I wanted to protect my loved ones. I'm not going to lie, It disgust me of what our Duke had become... that is why, I am glad."

"Glad?" Vera asked unconsciously

"Yes, I am glad that the Lunar Prince had escaped with Aesop and in return to their bravery, I make sure that the Lunar Queen is treated well." The Captain turned to Vera with hopeful eyes,"Vera, it's not too late for you too, I know you can still save yourself from the Duke's grasp."

Vera averted her gaze away, even if she wanted to, the promised wouldn't let her leave the Duke's side. It was the only thing that she could keep her beloved sister and her first love, Claude's memories with her

"I couldn't do it even if I wished for it, I still have a promise to fulfill," Vera spoke with determination, the Captain was about to convince her when she changed the subject,"In any case, the rumours about the Revolutionary Army here in Lumina, did you get any proof if they exist?"

"It's not a rumor anymore, In fact they stirred up a lot of trouble for Entity. A lot of incidents had happened, infiltrated camps, stolen goods and items, threats from here and there, some small towns in Entity are being attacked by them."

"I see, Do you think the Lunar Prince is with them?"

That remark made the Captain flinched, he knew exactly why the former Royal Advisor asked that, she will offer the Lunar Prince to the Duke, he sighed in resignation and gaze deep into Vera's eyes,"Tell me something, Ms. Nair, would Chloe be proud of your actions? Would she be happy knowing that you will sacrifice innocent lives just to please the Duke?"

All those questions made Vera's heart tightened, it echoed in her mind, her hands began to quiver a bit, the Captain chose the right words to shatter her walls and make her doubt her actions, he silently stood up,"Please, think all of this through, Ms. Nair. I know you're better than this." with those final words, the Captain leaves her some time alone.

Vera bit her lip, slowly being tormented by all the good and bad memories she had with her loved ones,"I don't care if I have to share Joseph's pain and crime, if that's the price I have to pay to see my sister and my lover back, I will take that risk."

It was a foolish and greedy task to save the Duke, it's impossible and hopeless, knowing that the Duke held in his possession the Eye of Horus and the two crystals, she is determined to try, for everything she believed in

The night was young in Maharlika, Aesop fell asleep after recollecting his thoughts about what he read this morning, he had a secret meeting with Naib where he informed him of what Norton had wrote in his testament, they both decided to discuss these matter after everyone had rested well so they can devised a better plan to counter their enemies attacks in the near future

Aesop went back in Norton's quarters, he remembered there are still letters he hadn't read yet, he tried but everything is written through Ancient tongue and out of curiosity, he was forced to decipher everything, gladly there are Maharlika scrolls to help him translate the letters, he chuckled when he read every single thing

"I should have known, these are all the songs he sang." he mumbled with a soft smile on his face, he kept flipping the letters back and forth when all of a sudden something caught his attention at the back of each paper, it was a cryptic message and was written backwards, he walked up the mirror and read it

"Hm? Instructions for a hidden message in his drawer?"

Aesop blinked twice, it was a confusing riddle, once again he was curious, following the instructions written on that parchment, he walked to one of Norton's drawers but it was locked, he scurried through the desk, check above and under to search for a key but there was none, he stare intensely at the padlock, it was a combination of three numbers. He gave the letter one last look again, he noticed that the password will come to light if he answered the riddle

"You truly love to prank people." he rolled his eyes, giggling and read the questions carefully

He took it and sat down on Norton's bedside, he flipped the pages and read it, he wasn't comfortable invading Norton's privacy but if he placed a small riddle for him, then he meant to make Aesop read it.

His silver orbs scanned the diary, his eyes began to moist in tears, the content of his diary... it was filled with familiar dates... events... places... All of his memories... Aesop sobbed while he savor reading every word, it was full of love and awaken so many precious memories in his heart, Every word written hummed inside him, Reading it made him smile, it's a glimpse of the musician's feelings for his beloved exorcist, One entry caught his attention and read it thoroughly

Vera and Eli laughed at the dare for Norton, Vera looked at Aesop with playful grin on her face, twitching her brows up and down, Norton on the other hand tried to recollect his thoughts and blinked twice, he shrugged it off with a smile afterwards

"Okay then~" he hummed and approached Aesop, lifting his chin up mischievously

"DON'T YOU DARE YOU FUCKING..mmph----!!!"

Norton muted Aesop's lips with his kiss, pinning him to the ground, soon after Aesop returned his frenzy kisses by wrapping his arms around Norton's neck, pulling him for more intensity, sharing the heat of their tongues, gasping in between and tried not to seperate, Vera let out a laugh and quickly placed her hands on Eli's eyes, apparently Eli didn't have his blindfold on that night, William on the other hand covered his eyes but still peeking in between his fingers watching the two shared passionate kisses, the kiss lasted for more than five minutes and when the two finished, Norton stole a soft kiss before separating from Aesop's lips

"You're so cute, Aesop~" Norton chuckle, lifting him off the ground

"Shut up! I couldn't breathe well for five minutes." Aesop brushed his silver strands while blushing

"Ten minutes actually." Vera spoke trying to contain her laughter, she released her hold in Eli's eyes

Aesop smiled sadly of the memory that night, he dried his tears and continued reading the journal, another beautiful entry came across, this one he remembered seeing a different side of Norton, he was enchanting that night, he won't lie it made his heart drummed so wildly in his chest seeing how gorgeous the musician was.

"Tonight... this one magical night... I should thank Vera after I finished writing this, I can't stop grinning, it feels like my heart is about to detonate! Aesop looked so BEAUTIFUL tonight~ he was wearing this elegant mint green outfit, a ruffled cravat , those tight mint pants, high stocking and dark leather shoes. His light steps and his eyes glittered under that ball... My heart stopped. I have never seen someone so captivating in my life, he danced so gracefully... I want to follow his lead for eternity..."

Aesop closed his eyes humming the waltz, that melody, they danced back at Entity Castle, that day Vera stole an invitation for them to a party inside the royal palace to honor the Duke

"If we're lucky enough, we can infiltrate and gather intel regarding their plot, who knows we can even put the Duke down once and for all." Vera expounded, glaring at the three men, gagged and tied up in front of her

"This is a great opportunity indeed." Aesop took his chin, tapping it lightly,"But since this is a public event we have to be discreet, we don't want to cause any commotion."

"So, what's the plan." Eli asked curiously

"Well, the best course of action would be, for Norton, Aesop and I sneak inside the party, since you are wanted you will stay with William until we return. Taking Norton would be an advantage since he can detect the Duke's presence, while Aesop and I gather information." Vera patted Eli's head lightly and smiled at Norton and Aesop, William just nodded with her plan as usual

"I can incapacitate him or put an end to him when I see him." Aesop added with determination, when his eyes landed on Eli, he looked very worried and scared, Aesop's expression softened,"Don't worry, I wouldn't use violence if it's not necessary or without prior provocation."

Eli sighed and nodded, he calmed his heart a bit

"We should get ready for the party tonight, we need to disguise ourselves as aristocrats"

With Vera's final confirmation, everyone did their own errand, she shuffled in her closet looking for an elegant dress and noticed Norton poking behind her,"Do you need something?"

Norton let out a breath, scratching the back of his neck,"I... I don't have any fancy clothing or anything nice to wear for the ball."

Vera fluttered her eyes and giggled, she took Norton by the arm and dragged him outside, Norton was a little bit confused by her sudden gesture

"Where are we going!?"

Without further argument the two hurriedly to the venue, Vera negotiated with the seamstress, the two scamper around the shop, trying all the suits for Norton to wear for an hour or two until they landed in one specific clothing that made Vera's eyes twinkle in enchantment. After buying that specific outfit, they went back to the house, to prepare themselves for the ball, Vera assisted Norton enthusiastically.

"Hm~ One more finishing touch. Let me do your hair!"

"Don't touch my hair!"

"Aww~ You want to impress Aesop or NOT?"

Norton groaned and sat obediently at the chair, while Vera happily galloped at his back, taking a brush and a can of spray, Norton gulped staring at the mirror in front of them,"Just... Just don't do anything weird."

Vera just giggled and fixed him up, Norton began to doze off and didn't notice Vera was almost done. With a little brush and styling, she was very satisfied, he looked perfect,"Done~ Now stay here, I will just go get ready and dressed up~"

After everyone was done, the two went down to meet up with Aesop, while descending at the stairs, Aesop's silver eyes dilated, he was so fascinated by how Norton looked tonight, wearing that elegant black jacket, engulfed with golden vintage embroidery, covering his white shirt and ruffled tie, that style really embossed his figure especially his broad shoulders, his tight brown pants and high leather boots with golden laces, his sexy slicked back, made his features more captivating, with his pointed nose and jawline visibly present and the way he stand tall, present himself had Aesop gawking in Norton's new look

"How do I look?" Norton asked shyly, he was still uncomfortable with what he was wearing, he did attend a ball or parties that are held in Maharlika but he never fancied wearing beautiful dresses and suits like these, he never considered it would look nice on him

Aesop was still captivated and had his mouth slightly agape,"You look ho---A Prince, what I meant was you look like a prince" he corrected himself as pink hues crawled up his cheeks. Am I gonna say he looks so Hot!? You have got to be kidding me! He scolded himself in his head, Aesop's commentary made Norton blushed, he did looked beautiful to him too

"Okay you two~ we should get going"

Vera spoke, smiling at these two awkward duo. When the three arrived at the ball, they were informed the Duke wasn't present at the party, according to one of the Court official, he is too busy in Lumina and couldn't attend, their plan changed to gather intel as many as they can and at the same time pretend to enjoy the ball, the beautiful melody caught the Exorcist attention and looked at Norton with hopeful eyes

"Would you like to dance with me?"

Norton's onyx eyes widened,"I... I don't know how to dance." he confessed earning a soft chuckle from Aesop

"You're a musician yet you do not know how to dance?"

"Hey! Playing music and dancing are TWO different things besides I don't fancy it."

With a smirk, Aesop took Norton's hands, dragging him in the middle of the ball, Norton was startled, panicking deep inside, he wanted to go back but it might have embarrassed Aesop, he turned side to side, looking at the crowd, Aesop noticed his anxiousness and placed his hand on Norton's face

"Trust me and follow my lead."

Aesop directed Norton's hand in his, while he placed his other hand to his waist and slowly pace back and forth, following the rhythm of the music, feeling the piano, cello and violin danced their every step, it was cheerful yet calm at the same time for the two, Norton had his onyx eyes on Aesop's silver eyes, they're both glued to each other, the tune turned soft, dimming the lights, it felt like the world had stopped, everyone just vanished and it was just the two of them dancing to their heart's content

One last step, Norton separated himself without releasing Aesop's hand, making him spin and catched him in his arms. When the music ended the two looked at each other lovingly, Norton placed a soft kiss on Aesop's lips, making the other giggle. The flashback has ended with Aesop smiling tracing the journal with his fingers

"You're a good dancer Norton." he spoke softly, being alone in his room, that was their last dance maybe if he knew they could dance a lot more, maybe he could have taught Norton more and maybe they could have held each other more.

Aesop flipped another page again and this time, this particular entry writhed his heart painfully.

"I hate it... I hate to see him broken like that... I hate that he looked so hopeless... I hate to see him carry his burden alone, endure everything in his shoulders, he is so stubborn!

I know that Aesop was broken because of his fascination with that asshole Joseph but I never expected to see him in that state---It scared me so much, I thought he was going to break... It hurts! During their travel, Norton would often visit Aesop's tent, just to talk or cuddle him, at first it was annoying but every time Norton would make an effort, he would just ignore until he got used to it, he did make Aesop smile a lot with his silly stories and cheesy pick up lines, that night was special though, Norton find Aesop very cute giggling to all his silly adventures back in Maharlika

"I was an idiot for being so blind... Please Norton forgive me... come back... I love you so much..."

After a few hours, Aesop was awoken in his slumber, he didn't notice he fell asleep, he felt so tired and numb from all the revelation he discovered. He slowly stood up and returned Norton's diary in the drawer and wash his face before walking out his room

"Aesop!"

Naib called for him through the corridors, Aesop flinched a bit, he was still dazed and he remembered the punches he received from Naib the other day, Naib noticed his reaction and averted his gaze nervously,"Uh... Can I ask a favor... Would you follow me please? I need to speak to you, It's very important."

"As you wish, Pharaoh." Aesop nodded and tail behind Naib, he maintained to be civil after what happened until they reached the garden inside the castle where anyone rarely comes, they both took a seat near the fountain

"I... I wanted to apologize..." Naib spoke genuinely,"Eli... he told me everything... he told me that you were killed by the Duke and Norton gave up his life for you."

Aesop's brow crunched hearing Naib's words, he's trying to forget that painful event,"It still counts that I murdered him..."

"WHAT?! NO...No...no..." Naib took a pause and grabbed his hair frustratingly,"Aesop, Norton loves you with all his heart, the way he told me everything about you, that pure love he felt for you, it was the first time I saw him genuinely happy."

Aesop lowered his gaze, taking his own hand to his chest tightly

"And I misjudged you because I was hurt...I was hurt that my brother was gone and I didn't get the chance to say goodbye or tell him how much I love him...I know you're hurt too..."

"I have my fair share of regrets..." Aesop spoke with sadness,"We have more pressing matters to worry about rather than my feelings."

"But if it will ease your heart, Pharaoh. I love Norton all these time, I just never realized it until he was gone, I never knew what True Love feels like and it's all thanks to him, I know now."

"You don't have to justify yourself Aesop and please call me Naib."

"Alright." Aesop nodded,"But seriously, Naib, I can carry this alone, for now, focus on Eli and saving Anima, I will help you with the best of my abilities, Also Eli never stopped loving you, now that you are together, you should take advantage of this calm atmosphere and spend most of your time holding and telling each other, I love you and I miss you"

Naib smiled softly by hearing these words from someone who's heart was broken yet still gave his genuine support, he patted Aesop's back for comfort,"No resentment over punches."

Aesop laughed a bit looking at Naib playfully,"Not at all, I'll just punch you next time, so we're even." Naib had his eyes widened and when aesop saw his expression he petted Naib's head,"Just kidding, In any case go to rest Naib, it's getting late, I should too." with a last smile, Aesop leave Naib at the garden

"He's suffering a lot, Norton... I heard him crying confessing his love for you and asking for your forgiveness..." he sighed having his eyes fixed on the night sky,"...I will try to help him, that's the least I can do for you, Brother."

After the Pharaoh and the Exorcist reconcile they've become really close, since Count Jack won't be back for a month because of the meeting at the High Council, It made Naib, Eli, Aesop, Jose, Patricia, William and Kurt plot our their asking the Sand Dragon to aid them, it was risky but it's a chance they have to take

During those times, Naib attempted to have Eli rest with him for the night or flirt but everytime they engaged physical contact, Eli would pull away which made Naib heartbroken but keep it to himself

Another the meeting was held again talking about strategic actions that will be able to help them along the way, the introduction were quite surprising for them especially on Servais' part he didn't trust the group just yet then again, Anima might be ending soon, It's best to trust some few of his companions, the discussion were directed towards the SEVEN HEAVENS Revolutionary Army

"I see, Evacuating and rescuing the citizens of Lumina or other towns that have been attacked by Entity is a good plan." Naib nodded, while Jose jots down every single information,"We should do that in Maharlika too, Jose told me the upcoming meeting by next week with the Duke is probably to continue the proposal regarding my marriage with Duchess Helena."

Aesop sighed in resignation,"What's the plan, surely you don't plan to marry her. You don't want to break someone's heart again do you?"

Naib's eyes widened by Aesop's remark as he stares at Eli, recently he have been removing his blindfold alot whenever this group assemble and now that he do, Naib can see the discomfort in his eyes, Eli is like an open book, It's easy to detect any emotions he have and now its reflecting in his beautiful sapphire orbs, Eli just averted his eyes away from Naib, The group went silent until servais broke the ice

"Let's proceed with the plan, I gave my small team of leaders a blueprint regarding Lumina and Entity's map for our infiltration, Unfortunately one of our Intel told us Lumina Kingdom had been rearranged." Servais spoke tapping his index finger in his chin

"I've known it too. The north tower even disappeared." Jose second

Eli's sapphire orbs dilated from the news, he slammed his hand on the table and spoke,"My mother! She's in the north tower! What happened!?"

"Eli..." Naib try to hold Eli's hand but when he did Eli backed away

Aesop gave all the details about Eli, the Duke violating him, escaping the kingdom, about his mother, their stay in Entity for 3 months and a half, Eli told Aesop all about the life he had during his stay in the Revolutionary Army, Aesop even told Naib what Lucky and the others told him, Eli had horrible nightmares of the people who died in front of him, he had insomnia because of that, Luckily his friends helped him coped up with his stress but the thing about Eli, he will get scared when someone touch him surprisingly, it's probably because of the Duke's mistreatment

Naib was in disbelief that for two years, Eli suffered this much, he didn't notice the pain he had to endure all these time, Naib knew something bad was bound to happen to Eli and his Kingdom under Entity's jurisdiction, he blamed himself for not doing anything to help him sooner,"I will kill the Duke..."

"No, Naib. Norton, Eli or anyone else wouldn't want that."

"WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO, Aesop!?"

"I want us to think rationally and avoid any necessary violence."

"You sound just like Eli."

"Well, Eli is contagious." Aesop chuckled,"Please think all of this through, we can defeat the Duke without killing him, I never wanted to see Eli cry ever again, I don't want to taint our hands with blood anymore for the sake of Anima's future, we can't be teaching the next generation to hold grudges and destruction, thinking that it's the ONLY way to save Anima, we're no different to the Duke, It's time we learn and value the meaning of the Mortal lives."

"You sound just like Norton."

"Those two got me good."

"They sure do, In any case, Thank you for this wonderful conversation Aesop. It calmed my heart. You're right, we need to save and change Anima for the better"

The past few days, they set out their final plans and gather intel on the status of Lumina Kingdom through SEVEN HEAVENS It was a difficult process especially outsmarting the Duke was too risky and during those days, Naib avoided Eli's affection ever since Aesop told him of Eli's troubled past but it led to another misunderstanding between them, Eli felt hurt but it was not the best time for romance either, he had to focused on saving Lumina but at the same time he wanted Naib to show his love unfortunately that wasn't the case for Eli, seems like Naib is choosing his duty over him, he tried to keep that sadness in him until one night he stayed at the garden when everyone is asleep, Aesop couldn't sleep either and spotted Eli, when he came to clear he noticed Eli was crying and mumbling to Luz

"Naib...hic...don't love me...why am I still...hic...hopeful...?" Eli's tears keep on trickling down his cheeks, Aesop was surprised and ran up to him and made Eli stunned

Eli giggled remembering the times Aesop would roll his eyes while hearing Eli's ridiculous fangirling over the Pharaoh,"I told him both the good and the bad times you experienced too."

"Yes and don't worry when he heard that he wanted to kill him and I told him don't let his emotions drive him crazy." Aesop patted Eli's head to reassure him,"All I'm saying is to try talking to each other, he's not yet asleep. I've heard from Jose, he's resting in his quarters after his work but he's awake."

"Thank you Aesop! I really am lucky to have you as my best friend!" Eli hugged Aesop tightly, making Aesop hugged him back.

"I'm like a freaking cupid for these two idiots."

After that Eli ran towards Naib quarter without even knocking he opened the door and locked it, Naib was very confused when Eli was all giddy, jump to him, hugging him and nuzzled his cheeks against his, It was really surprising that Naib was stoned in his position, when Eli pulled away, he explained everything to Naib, it was a good way to clear up all their misunderstanding, Naib sighed in relief and worry

"I always sacrifice your love for me and my love for you." Naib casted his eyes down, even with Eli having a blindfold on, he still couldn't look at him, he knew that even if he loves Eli, it was a battle between his duty over him and how many times have he chosen his responsibility but Eli remained the same, he loves Naib all these years and did his best to see him and what he had he ever done for Eli, Nothing.
