Chapter 15
The palace rose majestically, its walls radiating a sense of loneliness like a solitary beast. The yellow-stoned walls froze everyone who touched them with their beauty and icy coldness. Lavender swayed in the wind, its soft, pale purple color exuding a subtle hint of serenity. Red tulips, with their shade of passion, held their grandeur high. Lilies, with their pure and sophisticated look, stood among them like elegant maidens. Red roses offered their fragrance by enveloping the air. The silvery moonlight kissed the flowers, showering the garden with its love. The crystal fountain mounted in the center flower bed sparkled with clarity, creating an ethereal display. The clear water in it seemed like a portal to another world. The marble statue of a woman stood poised; her expression serene, the lines and carvings on her seemed a testament to the artist's exceptional talent. Whenever the moonlight kissed her, she shone like a celestial being.
A cat-like beast, named 'Gavar' lay on the emerald green lawn in front of the palace, its eyes wide open. Its soft, tangerine fur gave off a mysterious vibe. Its eyes, skyward blue, resembled a sunny day. Butterflies with rainbow wings could be seen on the flowers, sucking honey. The palace exuded serenity, with no guards outside.
However, multiple strong auras were suspended in the air, challenging anyone who trespassed to a deadly match. Gavar's azure eyes scanned through Noah. Noah, on the other hand was maddened due to this unexpected turn. It was Noah's first time seeing the main palace, the palace was an embodiment of luxury even from the outside. Dragons were creatures driven by an insatiable lust for wealth. The grand palace of the emperor was a sight to behold... a heavenly abode that defied mortal words.
Noah glared at Felix with unexplainable fury, his crimson eyes showing wickedness toward his own father. He was fuming because Felix had brought him to the place he had sworn to never step in. Noah was ashamed of his weak, pathetic self. He couldn't do anything against Felix's silent command. Dragons were untamable beings. Yet, they succumbed to love and power. The more they love and appreciate someone, the more they felt fascinated by them. That was simply, how a dragon lived its entirety, engulfing in the flames of emotions and power-seeking.
Felix and Noah, two unyielding spirits, clashed against, using silence as their weapon. Cinnabar droplets glistened like crimson rubies on Felix's chest, as if his vital force was bleeding away from him every time they glistened. Seeing Felix in a vulnerable state, elite dragon soldiers came forward, their eyes seemed to doubt what they were witnessing. One of them, who looked like the commander, inquired,
"Your Majesty, may I know what happened to you?"
Noah seemed to notice something was weird. The elite soldiers weren't even looking at him, someone who had come along with the mighty emperor. It was as if he was invisible to everyone. Felix just ignored them and walked straight to the palace. The air felt heavy. The dragon soldiers looked at each other in awe. A net woven out of starlight draped Noah. His feet slowly lifted off the ground, as if pulled and knotted by an unseen thread. Noah struggled to keep his eyes open as he witnessed Felix casting a spell with his hand. Slowly, he succumbed to deep sleep.
As the night's veil lifted, Noah opened his eyes to find the morning's warm breath caressing his face. The bedchamber was serene. A grand bed, adorned with gemstones and velvety plushies lay in the center of the room. The laced curtains that filtered the sunlight cast intricate patterns on the wall. The room incensed with enchanted and delicate flowers. The smooth carpet felt like flowers under foot. The painting of a lady gazing at stars highlighted the high ceiling with its haunting beauty that seemed to hold longing and memories. A magnificent mirror, its glass capable of reflecting even the subtle changes in one's soul, stood against the wall, etching everything it gazed upon. Precious stones embedded on to the walls in a tranquil pattern. Artifacts to make the room extra secure and a fire place with never ending flames could be seen in the room. Every detail and luxury, a melody of warmth and caution seemed to mirror in his ruby eyes.
"You surely took your time to wake up, bro"
Noah was greeted by an unfamiliar and annoying voice. Noah's gaze fell upon a man who was leaning against the wall, his arms crossed and a hint of smirk on his lips. Noah instinctively knew the man was annoyingly talkative, but he had to admit that he was also ridiculously handsome. His striking features and blade-like jawline, was breathtaking. Noah stared at the man; his crimson eyes glistened as he kept staring. The man's black hair resembling the dark sky and the look in his golden-hued eyes radiated as if he had found something interesting to play with. His tanned skin and sculpted look complemented his outgoing nature.
Noah wasn't familiar with the man in front of him, he sighed as if he just wanted to get out of there. "What? Are you sighing at the sight of me? People are always after me just to see my face and here you are, sighing at the sight of my handsome face."
The man rambled on and on about his looks and how people were eager to please him. His husky voice didn't match well with his bubbly talk. Suddenly, he stopped talking, and leaned toward Noah.
Noah with an irritating look, asked, "What now?" The big man said with puppy eyes, "You really don't want to know who I am?" Noah looked at the man with his spell-bindingly mysterious crimson eyes, and said, "You must be my brother." Noah's eyes seemed lifeless, hoping he would never have to go through the past he had thrown away, hoping it would never come back to him.
