Chapter 14
The grand throne room fell silent as Cassius strode in, his presence, commanding fear. His ruby red eyes blazed with intensity. His long silver hair shone under the blood moon light. As he strode forward, demons bowed their head out of terror. The superior being of demonic realm, the demon monarch, Cassius Nightshade walked past the notorious demons and dark wizards. They held their breath while Cassius walked past them as if they were afraid any slight disturbance might cost them their lives.
The hall, shaded with darkness, showered in a dim scarlet hue from the moon, exuded an eerie vibe. Cassius, with a smile on his lips, as if he he was thinking of something amusing, sat on the throne, which was decorated with blood rubies. As he sat on the throne, a spear materialized in his right hand. The spear was of golden color, bore the 'seal of the demon monarch'. The seal of the demon monarch was a stone which shared the intense color of courage and terror. This artifact had been passed down through the generations of demon clan leaders as a symbol of power.
As his ruby eyes swept across the room, a demon with small horns, approached him, its eyes looked downward in fear. Cassius's gaze fixated on the demon as it presented itself, his expression, cold. The demon's tail shivered with great terror, and its voice trembled slightly as it spoke,
Your Majesty, a visitor has arrived. "Calantha, the great witch, seeks audience with you."
Cassius's eyes flashed with excitement as his lips curled into a subtle, enigmatic smirk. With a subtle nod, he acknowledged the demon's message, his voice, commanding, "very well, show her in." Cassius tilted his head, resting his temple on his fist, and laid his elbow on the armrest, his eyes, beaming with a mesmerizing glow.
As the old witch entered the throne room, her black cloak rustled softly against marble floor. Cassius looked at her with eyes beholding curiosity. The old witch walked slowly; the carpet under her feet stretched until it reached the throne. Cassius, with a subtle snicker, "how long are you keeping me waiting?"
As Cassius's voice thundered, the old witch slowly unveiled her cloak, revealing an ethereal beauty. As she approached the throne, her lips curled into a slight smile. "Greetings, Great Emperor, it's an honor to meet the ruler of the underworld." , she said. As she bowed, her raven hair flowed like river, touching the ground. Her azure eyes, concealed forbidden truths. The air reeked of mysteries as their eyes clashed like swords— a war between incineration and freezing. Her beauty was heavenly and her voice was angelic, yet her face was unreadable.
"Your Majesty, forgive me for my impudence, I thought you didn't like seeing me in this form."
Cassius laughed revealing his sharp teeth, "I don't care about how you look. I just don't like you, that's all." Cassius remarked in a sarcastic tone. "Aren't you betraying Felix while being here?" His sound echoed throughout the throne room. "You know it, your majesty, I've been in love with you for the past few thousand years, how can I bear to betray the man in my heart for an emperor?" Calantha smiled, as she voiced. Abruptly a force rushed out like a gust of wind, pushing Calantha to her knees and finally forcing her face to the ground. The impact caused her forehead swollen, blood oozing out. Calantha felt a bone-chilling shiver ran down through her spine as she gradually lifted her gaze from the floor to meet Cassius's eyes, her face, pale with fear.
Her eyes widened in horror, her face bloodless, her body became numb, her lips trembling as she witnessed the visage, a creature that defied the laws of nature. It had two long horns on its head, a sharp set of teeth, elongated ears, a long tail, an ominously vertical crimson pupil, long silver hair, dark finger nails, runes etched onto its body which looked like scary tattoos, and finally the 'aura of death'. The 'aura of death', known as the most dangerous aura in the whole world, was a skill possessed by the demon monarch. Whether it was seduction, mental torture or anything related to the mind, it always held the first place. She didn't dare to look at it anymore.
Cassius let out a smirk as he looked at her pathetic state. "If you can't even bear to look at my true self, how are you going to spent your lifetime with me, Calantha?"
Cassius stated as he lifted himself from his seat. Her fingers trembled with fear as she looked at him,
"You are looking at me, now that I'm in my human form."
Cassius let out a sigh as he sarcastically looked at Calantha. His eyes gleaming with fierce intensity, as he observed her trembling, other-worldly figure.
