| Chapter Thirteen | Gerard And Lucy Reeve

"Glory isn't worth your life."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ian has only met his stepmother and stepsiblings about three or four times now. He doesn't have a lot of time to see them given his job, but most of the reason isn't due to lack of time or his job, it is to avoid his father. Which is why it kills him that now he has to go ask for help from him. Though, he is willing to bite back his tongue and pride for Sky's sake.
Nick and Tyler were at Ian's side with three recruits. The two new captains were confused as to why they were all of a sudden heading to Void City when they are all needed at the base, but they didn't want to question the Acting Commander's orders. When they entered the city, they went to the northern part of the city. Of course, Ian was immediately recognized since the horses have the Sky Army Emblem on them and so do their clothes.
Ian wanted to avoid being seen but it can't be helped given how recognizable he is. They stopped in front of a big fenced-in home that looked like it had three floors.
"Master Ian, welcome," one of the guards spoke confusing the others. They went in.
"Where are we?" Nick asked as he stared at the home amazed by how it looks.
Ian hesitated but let out a sigh. "My parents," he answered as he dismounted his horse. His answer caught them off guard.
"Y-Your parents?!"
"Are you a noble?!"
Ian shakes his head. "No, I'm not a noble, my father just has a lot of money for a commoner."
They all dismounted their horses, the recruits staying with them as the gates to the fence closed behind them. Tyler and Nick went with Ian.
"So why are we here?"
"Something tells me this isn't just you wanting to see your parents," Nick pointed out.
Ian nods. "If we had any other option, I would take it. I...hate my father. But as much as I hate him, his expertise is what we need right now if we are going to protect Sky," he said. Tyler and Nick looked at each other for a moment before not asking anymore questions and just taking in the decorations and home.
The inside wasn't as grand as it seemed on the outside, it looked like a normal home with some upgrades. It was spacious and has many rooms. Ian and they waited in the dining room as a servant went to get Ian's stepmother. Ian leaned against the wall as Tyler sat at the table and Nick was looking at pictures.
"Are any of the Generals or Commander nobles?" Nick asked Ian.
Ian hesitated thinking. "Ty is royalty, obviously. Jerome is technically a noble but that's only in his home country. Here in Astina, he isn't a noble. Here, Jerome is classified as a lower-class citizen. But he doesn't give a damn about stuff like that, so it doesn't bother him. My father may be rich and technically a noble...but I rather not be associated with him at all."
Nick looked at Ian. "You hate your parents that much?"
Ian shakes his head. "No, I'm okay with my stepmother. It's my father that is the problem."
"What about your birth mother?" Tyler asked. Ian looked away, not answering them but crossed his arms as he tried not to think about his mother.
"Ian's here!" a voice shouted making Ian's eyes flicker up seeing his stepsiblings and his stepmother, Lucy. A set of ten-year-old twin boys and a thirteen-year-old girl came running over to Ian.
Ian smiled a bit at them. "Hey, guys," he said. One of the twins grabbed Ian's arm, pulling the general away from the wall.
"Ian! Can you teach me swordsmanship?! You're a General, so you have to be an expert!" they said making the three officers smile. The other twin grabbed Ian's other arm.
"No fair! If you are teaching him, you have to teach me!"
"Okay, that's enough. I need to speak with your brother and his friends," Lucy dismissed the three children away.
Ian watched the three leave before looking at his stepmother. "They've...gotten bigger since last I saw them," he pointed out.
Lucy smiled at Ian. "Well that was when we were staying at the Sky Army before we were moved to Alamut. I'm guessing you had a hand in that."
Ian nodded. "Yeah, I--"
She shakes her head, putting her hand up. "No, you don't need to explain yourself, Ian. I'm aware of how badly damaged you and your father's relationship is. You two can't seem to have a civilized conservation anymore. It was for the best that we were moved."
"Wait a second..." Nick said before looking at Ian. "Your father was the man you almost got into a fight with during the Void City's entrapment. I recognize her, she was with him trying to get him to move on from speaking with you."
Lucy sighed and nodded. "Yes, given the scene it made and how it angered Commander Skylen, I should have tried harder to get him to move on."
Ian smiled a bit. "Adam was mad, but he isn't one to hold a grudge. Besides, he had to use my father's services to hide Seto. So, I think all is well now."
Lucy smiled. "Good, I'm glad. So, what it is that you need? Your letter wasn't exactly clear about that," she said.
Ian sighed, hesitating for a moment before he spoke. "I need to speak with my father, the Sky Army needs to use his...services again."
"Who are you hiding?" Lucy asked.
"Hiding?" Nick questioned. Ian glanced at the two captains.
"Commander Adam Skylen, just until he is back on his feet due to his injuries. I'm afraid that we cannot effectively protect him within the base, so...he needs to go into hiding," Ian explained. Lucy nodded, understanding.
"Okay, well...I'll go get your father. Please try to be civil," she said before she left to go get him.
"What does your father do?" Nick asked. Tyler looked at the General, waiting for an answer to said question.
Ian looked at them. "Well...my father is a crime lord. I don't know much about his work because I don't want to know. But I do know that he provides services to hide criminals. We used his services to hide Seto right after his father was resurrected and he needed time," he said.
Nick stared at Ian, not expecting that answer while Tyler stood up in shock. "W-Wait a second, your father is a crime lord and yet you're an Astinan hero?"
Ian nods. "Exactly."
Nick smiled a bit. "Well the crime lord must be proud of his do-gooder son."
Ian looked away. "Before the Sky Army, before I met Adam and them, I...was arrested quite a lot. I was arrested so much that I was forced into the Royal Army as a soldier as part of a punishment since, at the time, Nasia was at war and they needed soldiers. Quentin did everything he could to try to get me out of that but nothing work," he said shocking the two again.
"What did you do?" Tyler asked.
Ian glanced at them. "That time...nothing worthy of arrest. But the guards saw me and just decided I was toxic to the city by being there. So...they arrested me and I was sent to King Max's father, who was the current king at the time. He decided my punishment should be dying in a war that I cared very little for. A few battles later, I was badly injured and left to die. The letter of my death was given to Quentin, Adam, and them. And they decided to see for themselves whether I was dead or not. So they came and rescued me with the help of other soldiers that I became somewhat friends with at the time; Gizzy and Dartron. And Adam decided to get involved in the war and we all followed him. Which in turn, created the Sky Army," he explained amazing and shocking the two.
"So, the Sky Army was created due to your criminal past?" Tyler asked.
Ian paused, thinking but nodded. "Actually yeah, now that I think about it."
Nick smiled a bit. "Well, you seem better now. Not much criminal activities anymore I hope, you're a hero now," he said. Ian loses his smile. Sure, Ian's life is considerably better than what it once was. But old habits and temptations tend to resurface at times when he is trying to be better than who he once was. It's just lucky that he has his childhood friend, Quentin, to always set him straight and away from the person he was and to the person he wants to be.
"Sure, Nick," he said looking away. "My past is nothing compared to Jason's, but it was hard. I did do a lot of things that I'm not proud of, hurt a lot of people, but I'm trying to be better. And coming here, seeing my father is...difficult for me."
Nick nods. "Of course, well, you have us two here with you, General. We'll make sure to keep you straight."
"Thanks, guys," Ian said smiling a bit.
"Ian, my boy!" a voice bellowed making the general flinch. Ian watched his father and stepmother come into the dining room and when his father stepped up to hug him, Ian moved away.
"Yeah, let's not act like we are on good terms or anything because we aren't," Ian said. His father frowned and looked at Nick and Tyler.
"Ahh, the new captains of the Sky Army, Captain Nick and Captain Tyler," he said confusing the two.
Ian shakes his head. "This is temporary, their positions aren't permanent," he clarified.
Nick only glanced at Ian, looking at Ian's father. "How did you know who we were?"
"In my line of work, you tend to know everything and everyone," he said before he held his hand out. "Gerard Reeve, nice to meet you both."
Tyler shook his hand while Nick looked at Ian, confused. "Reeve?"
Ian crossed his arms. "I took my biological mother's last name."
Nick nodded. "Oh, okay," he said before he had to shake Gerard's hand as well.
Gerard looked at his son. "So, Commander Skylen needs to go into hiding, huh? Any special needs?"
Ian nods. "Medical attention. He is injured."
Gerard nods. "Right, I heard about that. And who are you hiding him from?"
Ian hesitated, not knowing whether or not to say since he hasn't told Nick and Tyler about Herobrine yet. He sighed. "Herobrine, the nether god had a fixation on Sky during our last encounter with him. We need to keep him safe until he is back on his feet and I'm convinced that him being at the Sky Army is not safe."
"Wait, Herobrine?" Tyler questioned.
Nick looked at Tyler. "Well, General Probst is in the Nether, it is only natural to assume he means to awaken Herobrine."
Gerard stared at Ian like he was waiting for more. "Oh...that's it? Nothing more?"
Ian nods. "Yeah...why?"
Gerard shrugged his shoulders. "Thought you would be interested in finding out what your wizard friend, Azdel, was up to."
Ian stared at his father, not even shocked he has eyes on Seto at all. Gerard has a lot of connections. "What has Seto been up to?"
Gerard smirked. "I suspect that your wizard friend left Astina with an objective already in mind. All the other tales I've heard must have been extra. He's gotten back into the monster-slaying business, last I heard he had slain a Nurcon that had laid waste to a town."
"What is a Nurcon?" Tyler asked confused.
Gerard looked at the captain. "I have no idea. But it stood forty feet tall on four legs and is wicked fast. Apparently very nasty and Azdel killed it. He has slain plenty of other monsters, the Nurcon is just the most recent one that I've heard of."
Ian smiled a bit at that. Monster Slaying isn't new to Seto, the wizard was once known for it long ago but quit after he wanted to plant some roots in Astina again instead of constantly being on the road or sea. "Nice to know old habits never die."
Nick and Tyler looked at Ian, confused. "Wait, has Master Azdel--"
Gerard nodded. "Oh yeah, Azdel was a notorious monster slayer back in the day. Given his past and his power, that isn't shocking that slaying monsters are easy for him."
Nick sighed. "Well...looking now, I can see that."
"I can't!" Tyler exclaimed.
Gerard looked at Ian, explaining what else that Seto has been up to. Apparently, the wizard has been very busy in the year and a half he has been gone. Besides just taking up monster-slaying jobs again, he helped overthrow a dictator in a civil war, searching for ancient temples, and taking up challenges from other wizards. He was also apparently arrested for about three days, it only lasted three days because he broke himself out.
But his most recent deeds involve the temples, he's been searching for something. He's been searching caves whenever he finds them and looking into the history of dragonmeres beyond Astina.
"What was he searching for?" Ian asked.
Gerard crossed his arms. "An ancient fortification."
Ian paused, suspecting he already knows what it is that Seto is searching for. "What fort?"
"Stronghold. And I suspect he has found it since he vanished without a trace after going into a big cave system. Search parties went in to find him but there hasn't been any luck. That was about four months ago," he said.
Ian bit on his bottom lip. "That's around the same time that Seto stopped contacting us."
"What's a stronghold?" Tyler asked.
Ian looked at the two confused captains. "I don't know much, only what Seto briefly told me. A stronghold is an ancient fortification that is buried deep underground. There is only one recorded stronghold, but its location was lost long ago. Supposedly, the stronghold is how dragonmeres came to this world."
"What do you mean by 'came to this world'?" Nick asked.
"He means that dragonmeres aren't from our dimension, but from another. An invasive species if you will. It's written that a stronghold holds the portal to what is called in our tongue the End Dimension. I suspect that Seto was searching for this stronghold by looking into ancient temples connected to it, searching cave systems and such. He must have found the fortification, found the portal, and jumped in it. That has to be why no one can find him or contact him. He's probably in another dimension right now," Gerard explained.
Tyler started panic-asking questions as Nick looked at Ian. "How are we supposed to contact him for help if he is in another dimension?"
Ian shakes his head. "I-I don't know, we just have to hope he knows what he is doing," he said. While he is glad to know what Seto has been up to, and it has been a lot apparently, to know that Seto has most likely gone into a different dimension just...well it doesn't sit well with him. He wants to get Seto's help, but that is kinda hard when the wizard isn't even in the same dimension currently. 'I need to tell the others, especially Rosani and Ty, they have been the most worried about Seto,' Ian thought to himself before he looked at his father. He's worried that Seto might get hurt or worse, but the wizard is a lot stronger than he looks. Ian knows that Seto can take care of himself. "Seto can take care of himself. We just have to hope he will come back home soon from whatever quest or objective he has roped himself into. For now, let's focus on Adam."
Gerard nods. "Yes, I will gladly help hide Commander Skylen. But the information about Master Seto Azdel and hiding the commander is not free I'm afraid," he said making Ian narrow his eyes at his father.
Nick motioned to Ian. "How about a family discount?"
Gerard shakes his head. "Nope. And I don't want money, I want something else."
"What do you want?" Ian asked.
"A family dinner," Gerard stated making Ian's expression soften for a minute.
Tyler smiled. "General Stapleton can do that--"
Nick smacked Tyler's arm, stopping the captain from talking. "We don't decide that, we aren't part of this family. Shut up!" Nick whispered at Tyler.
Ian crossed his arms, thinking for a moment. "Can I bring Quentin?"
Gerard nods. "Of course, Quentin is always welcomed. But only him and you. I don't want the Lieutenant Generals showing up. I know who they are, but they have never met me and I don't believe they would be interested."
Ian sighs and regretfully agrees to the terms. He hates it, but he is trying to take Sky's advice to be involved with his family while he still has one. He may hate his father, but...sometimes things need to be done to move forward. "I guess I can suffer through one dinner."
Gerard and Lucy smile. "Great!" Gerard said. "I'll get started on the details for Commander Skylen's move." He left, leaving the four alone.
Lucy looked at Ian, she was shocked that Ian agreed to the terms. "You really are okay with this?"
Ian shakes his head. "No, of course not. But...I know he won't take anything else. If he wants something, he is going to get it one way or the other. It's just...an unfortunate trait of his that I hate," he stated.
Lucy's eyes soften at him. "You know he is completely unaware of how much he has hurt you...you know that right?"
Ian nods. "I'm painfully aware of that, Lucy," he said. Lucy flinched when Ian used her first name. But it isn't like she is shocked at that. Ian doesn't call her mother or stepmother at all, he calls her by her first name. She's aware that stuff like that is going to take time and she's okay with waiting for whenever Ian feels comfortable. After all, she isn't the one who raised Ian at all, Ian's mother raised him and that wasn't even for the entire span of his life. No, Ian mostly raised himself with his father in and out of the picture constantly. She's just kinda happy that Ian refers to her as his stepmother and not some invader that stole his father away from his mother.
"Well, I'll send you a letter about the dinner, I imagine you need to get back to the Sky Army base," she said.
"Yeah, that's probably a good idea. Come on, guys," Ian said to Nick and Tyler.
Quentin moved the blanket to cover Sky's arm back up after he had moved it to get a blood sample from the commander. He glanced at Sky, seeing his friend still fast asleep. Adam won't admit it, but Quentin can tell that Sky doesn't feel good. When the commander was awake, he wasn't acting like himself. He looked like he was going to be sick. It isn't anything of major worry, probably just some mild illness or the effects of his concussion taking hold of him.
But now Quentin doesn't only have Sky and Jason to worry about, add Mitch to that pile with that strange rash on his arm that is causing the archer to unable to pull back a bow correctly.
Quentin let out a soft breath, he is at least happy that all the recruits that were injured and savable from Jason's attack are on their way to a full recovery. Meanwhile, the recruits who were cursed were harder to manage. Master Waglington was able to save half of them while the other half succumbed to the wither curse before he could get to them. Quentin is just happy that at least some of them were able to be saved and not all had died.
"How is he?" the dragonmere king asked as he came into the room.
Quentin smiled a bit and looked at Ty. "Well, his burns are fully healed. His head wound is taking some type though, and his concussion is...well, its side effects are presenting themselves to us. I'm having the nurses wake Sky up at least once every one to two hours to make sure he is still with us," he said.
Ty smiled. "What do you mean by the side effects are presenting themselves to us?"
Quentin chuckled lightly. "Well, he was delirious and his speech pattern was quite...unique. We didn't understand what he was trying to tell us, and I do believe he was having double vision and bothered by light and noise. Which is why it is so dark in this room and why he was moved to one of the private rooms instead of being out in the ward," he explained.
Ty nods. "How long will his concussion take to heal?"
Quentin paused, thinking. "Well, head injuries are tricky, Ty. Not all of them heal at the same rate. Sky might need a month to recover or just two weeks. It's really up to him and how he is feeling."
Ty crossed his arms, staring at Sky for a moment before looking at Quentin. "What's going on with Mitch?" Quentin stiffens up, not saying anything making Ty harden his gaze at the doctor. "I'm not stupid, Quentin. I know something is up. Mitch...feels off."
Quentin almost lied about what was going on until that last sentence registered. "What do you mean by that he feels off?"
Ty lowered his arms. "I don't know, he just...I'm finding that I can sense magic in beings now. I could sense magic in Seto very easily, Cassandra as well and other wizards, and my sisters. But Mitch...Mitch was just some human. But a few hours ago, when I spoke with him, I...sensed magic in him."
Quentin's eyes widen a bit. "Did you tell him this?"
Ty shakes his head. "No, because the magic felt off. Seto's magic feels strange too, but that is because he is a light and dark mage, he dabbles in both light and dark magics. So his aura feels strange to people. Cassandra is strictly light magic, so she doesn't feel off, she feels like life and such. Rosani and Asthie have this ancient magic feel since our magic is technically ancient. Mitch, he...just feels dark and scared."
Quentin put the vial of Sky's blood down, thoughts racing through his head. "And you are sure of this feeling of yours?"
Ty nods. "Very."
The doctor goes to the cabinets in the room, opening them till he picks up a magic detector. "Come with me," he said before the two left. Ty closing the door slowly as to not wake Sky up. The two left the infirmary, searching the base for Mitch and finding him outside of chow hall, talking to recruits. Quentin took notice of how Mitch's affected arm, his left arm, is wrapped up in bandages to cover up the rash so the recruits won't see it and worry.
The archer noticed the two and turned to them. "Oh, hey guys, what are--"
"Let me see your arm," Quentin said surprising Mitch. Mitch stared at Quentin for a second, wondering what is going on. He recognizes what is in Quentin's hand, he's seen the same device be used on Seto whenever the wizard gets sick or hurts himself. Mitch pushes up his right sleeve, holding it out for Quentin.
"Okay, but I'm not a mage so--"
"Shush," Quentin quieted him before taking Mitch's forearm. He inserted the needle into Mitch's arm, pressing the detect button and holding it in place while they wait.
"What is this about?" Mitch asked before looking at Ty. Ty was looking over Quentin's shoulder at the device, waiting for the results. And the recruits were watching with interest, Captain Ashley Mariee and Captain Noah Craft coming up to them to see what was going on.
Ashley looked at the device. "What is that?"
"A magic detector, but the Lieutenant General isn't a mage," Noah pointed out looking at Quentin.
"I said the same--"
It went silent when the device beeped and the results came in. Mitch saw Ty's eyes widen and feeling Quentin's hand grip his forearm for a moment before pulling the device away from him. Mitch lowered his arm. "Well, what it is?"
Quentin looked at Ty. "What type of feeling? A good or bad one?"
Ty shrugged his shoulders, glancing at Mitch which just made the archer anxious. "Everything has felt off for quite a while. But Mitch..." Ty looked at the archer, stepping towards him. "Mitch, how do you feel?"
Mitch stared at Ty. "F-Fine I guess, I mean my forearm hurts and so my hands but that is--"
"Your hands and forearm hurt? How long has that been going on?" Ty asked.
"Since the last Herobrine encounter, right? When Herobrine cornered you and hit you with some spell?" Quentin asked Mitch.
Mitch stared at the two, silent before he asked what is on everyone's mind. "What is going on? What are the results?"
Quentin looked at the device before holding it up to Mitch. "A normal reading for a human would be a two. A normal reading for a wizard is five. Seto's normal reading is nine while Cassandra's is six, Jason's and Ty's is eight. Your reading, Mitch, is six and growing."
"I-I'm a...wizard?" Mitch mumbled.
Ty shakes his head. "No, I wouldn't call you a normal wizard-like Cassandra is. You don't feel like a normal wizard. I think you are a special case like Jason is. For what that case is, well...we'll have to find out and see--"
Mitch took a step back. "How about we don't find out and see if I'm gonna end up just like Jason?!"
Quentin stepped towards Mitch. "Mitch, I know this is scary. But try to stay calm, okay? Magic is highly reactive towards emotions. You freak out and your magic could lash out at us. And given how Jason has mainly death magic, that could be very bad for all of us since we have no idea what type of magic you have."
Mitch lets out a shaky breath and nods, trying to force himself to calm down and think straight. "You...You think the spell Herobrine hit me with just...surfaced it?"
Quentin nods. "It's highly likely that is what happened. This could be why you can't hold a bow properly anymore, why you can't draw back a bowstring without being in pain. The longer you don't use magic, the more dangerous it is for a caster. You start to experience symptoms that are very much like the ones you have been experiencing ever since we put Herobrine to rest. To cure your arm and hands problems, you need to start using your magic."
Mitch nods. "Okay...how?"
"I have no idea, I'm not a mage," Quentin said honestly.
"General Azdel would know what to do," Ashley said making them all nod in agreeance.
Mitch looked at Ty. "You're a mage, how do you use magic?" he asked.
Ty hesitated, not knowing how to explain it in a way that would make sense. "I...don't know. It's just, instinctual. I can't really put it into terms. Try asking Cassandra or Set--ask Cassandra," he said. A recruit came up to the group.
"Generals, Captains, Acting Commander Stapleton has returned and called for a meeting immediately with all officers, King T-Tobias, Princess Rosani present," the recruit said. Ty smiled a bit at their stutter of his name. Some of the recruits call him Ty and some call him Tobias. He doesn't mind at all, after all, the recruits know him as Ty while the dragonmeres know him as Tobias.
Ty nods. "I'll go get my sister then," he said before he flew off towards his kingdom.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"What do you mean Harvey has gone missing?" Rosani snapped at Ian.
"Now that isn't exactly what I said, Rosani," Ian clarified. They are in the meeting hall's war room, present are: Captains Gizzy (with medical watch by Quentin), Tyler, Noah, Nick, Jordan, Dartron, Vikk, and Ashley. As well as Generals Mitch, Quentin, and Ian. Jerome is still at the portal fort so Ian decided to fill the hybrid in afterward. Lastly, Cassandra, King Tobias (Ty) and his sister, Princess Rosani. Ian had explained mostly what had happened at Void City until he got to the part about Seto. He only got two sentences in before the princess (Seto's girlfriend) cut him off declaring an explanation for this so-called disappearance of his.
Ian didn't sit in Adam's seat at the head of the table, he stood beside it, not feeling okay with sitting in Adam's seat. Sure, he is the Acting Commander, but...he doesn't want to take Adam's spot. He knows that Adam wouldn't care, but he does.
"I said that Seto cannot be found in this dimension," he explained.
"Yeah, what exactly does that mean?" she asked. Ian sighed before explaining more of what it is that Gerard had said that Seto has been up to since he went off on an adventure of his own. And he got a bunch of mixed reactions from what he said.
Mitch, Quentin, Gizzy, Dartron, Cassandra, and Ty weren't at all surprised to hear about the war and monster slaying. After all, they all have seen Seto slay monsters when a magical beast had wreaked havoc in Astina and the council conscripted Seto to slay the monster due to his experience in monster slaying. The war was a bit of a surprise since they all thought Seto left to get away from that life, but that wizard doesn't know how to stay out of people's business. So the war he was involved in ending wasn't a complete shock.
Meanwhile, the newer Captain was completely shocked by Seto's actions.
"He involved himself in a war that was none of his business?! Why?!" Ashley asked them.
Ian smiled. "I mean, he did the same exact thing once before. The first war that the eight of us were involved in."
Nick nodded. "The war that left you for dead," he said confusing other captains.
Dartron sighed. "Yes, the war that took place between Nasia and Verane. I remember that" he said.
Gizzy smiled. "That feels so long ago. That was back when the two of us and Ian were nothing more than Royal Army soldiers and the Sky Army didn't exist."
Ian crossed his arms. "I disagree, I was more of a court-ordered sacrifice than a loyal Royal Army soldier like you two were, but sure. Anyways, I'm not shocked that Seto involved himself in a war. That wizard is very capable and powerful, I'm sure having him on the citizens' side was what caused them to win."
Mitch chuckles. "Also, Seto doesn't know how to stay out of people's business. He has to involve himself if others are in trouble no matter who or what they are. That is just who he is."
Ian leaned against the table. "Moving Seto's heroic habits aside. There is something that the dragonmeres here need to know. It's what Seto has been looking into that probably caused his disappearance." he pointed out catching Ty's and Rosani's attention. Ian then explained how Seto was looking into ancient temples connected to the stronghold and searching cave systems on the regular as if he was looking for it.
He then told them how Seto was last seen going into a cave that has a big system and never came out about four months ago. Around the same time when they all lost contact with the wizard.
Ty looked away. "You think Seto went into the End Dimension..."
Rosani leaned back in her seat, staring at the table as the others talked. She knew why Seto was looking for the stronghold. The wizard mentioned them before to her. He mentioned how he has promised King Glyenn (Rosani's and Ty's father) that he would finish what it is that the King couldn't. Rosani smiled a bit. 'He's keeping his word. Hopefully, he can return home,' she thought before she looked at the others.
Talking over them which shut them up, she said: "Harvey promised our father something before the king died. He was working on it before the kingdom fell," she looked at Ty "Our father was obsessed with finding one and hopefully being able to bring them out of extinction and to this world. It is said that there are two left in the End Dimension."
"What? What was our father obsessed with? What is Seto looking for?"
Rosani smiled. "Dragons."
