Kaede

"Giant beetle? How strange I thought we were looking for a large needle." Mini Mustache says.

"Why would Shiki need that?" Poncho says and I narrow my eyes at that name. "You never listen to what I tell you. It's a giant beetle."

"Oh, well then. I wonder if the giant beetle I passed on my here is the same one we're looking for?" Mini Mustache asks as Zoro and Sanji charge only to get caught in nets before being hosted up on the other side of Luffy.

"Kaede attack." Luffy suddenly says pointing at Mini Mustache who looks up at us confused.

"Nah. I'm going to sleep for a bit. Wake me up after the blue beetle shows up." I say closing my eyes and relaxing in the cage despite the size of it.

"What blue beetle?" The villagers and pirates ask while exchanging looks.

"Are you really just going to sleep?" Usopp yells.

"Probably won't due to all the noise that will be happening but I'm sure going to try until I get sent a blaze by the beetle since everyone will probably forget to wake me up when I said." I say closing my eyes and drifting off slightly until I feel Luffy's elbow slam into my cheek. I open my eyes and glare at Luffy while rubbing my cheek but he doesn't seem to notice.

"I'm not gonna let you go with these bastards. Giant Beetle you still haven't fought with me. We promised and I know that you remember." Luffy yells and I raise an eyebrow looking past Luffy towards Sanji and Zoro for an explanation.

"Long story short the beetle tried to give himself up but Luffy wants to fight him so he punched him away." Zoro says and I nod before looking back at Luffy.

"What are you doing? Can't you see that Boss was trying to sacrifice himself for the islands?" A villager yells.

"Shut up I don't care. I just want to fight him." Luffy yells.

"Is that it?" The whole village says and I chuckle.

"Do you have something to say?" Luffy yells at them and I see the girl start crying.

"I want to... I want to... be with Boss forever!" The girl yells and a small smile forms on my lips. "I want... to be... with Boss... on this island." She says while crying and I turn to Luffy.

"So what's the plan for getting out of these cages?" I ask and Luffy looks at me.

"Ahh you're awake. Attack Kaede." Luffy says once again.

"Are you literally asking me to bust open this cage and pound his face in?" I ask looking at Luffy with a raised eyebrow as well as the other two.

"Yes, now attack." Luffy says and I shake my head before kicking Luffy in the face.

"You're an idiot." I say.

"What can't do it?" Luffy suddenly and I narrow my eyes at him.

"What are you saying there, buddy?" I ask in a dangerously low voice.

"If you can't do it I guess you can't do it." Luffy says and my eyes narrow into slits.

"There is no way I can't do it." I say ripping a hole in the metal cage before jumping down to the ground.

"He just ripped a hole in a metal cage." The villagers and some of the pirates say in shock.

"Go Kaede." Usopp yells and I roll my eyes before slamming a kick into Mini Mustache. Mini Mustache goes flying off towards the ocean and I block the sun from my eyes to see how far he goes.

"Where's he going to land? I feel like it's going to be at that obnoxious green submarine." I say watching as Mini Mustache reaches his peak before starting to plummet, right towards the submarine. "Whoa didn't think I was going to be correct."

"Good job now get us down." Luffy says and I raise an eyebrow before slamming my heel into the tree. The tree shakes and almost falls over before the three cages fall down.

"What the hell?" Poncho guy yells looking at the sub which now had a person shaped hole in it. "How dare you do that?" He yells pulling out his guns and his sombrero starts spinning which allows him to start flying.

"Look out." Nami yells towards the villagers and I see the girl from before right out in the open.

"Damn it." I say rushing forward and shielding the girl with my body as bullets fly right towards her.

"Kaede." I hear Zoro yell as the bullets slam into my back and I grit my teeth from the pain.

"Luffy take care of him." I yell and I can sense Luffy nod. The bullets stop a couple seconds later and I pull back to look at the girl who was wearing an old marine coat and jacket who was staring at me with wide eyes.

"Are you okay?" I ask and she snaps out of her shock.

"You're the one who just got shot." The girl yells and I let out a small laugh.

"That's true." I say letting her go and gently sitting on the ground.

"Kaede." I hear a couple voices yell and I look up to see the straw hats who where on the island rushing towards me.

"Hey guys so fiesta guys are dealt with?" I ask.

"This is not the time to be thinking about that. You just got shot, multiple time." Nami says looking at my back while everyone else surrounds me and Zoro crouches down beside me.

"You going to be good?" Zoro asks with a worried voice and I smile at him.

"He just got shot. There is no way he's going to be good." Usopp yells but I ignore him. "Can we get a doctor over here."

"I'll be fine. You already know that." I say lightly punching him on the arm and he just stares at it for a second before looking back.

"Yeah but that punch was extremely weak." Zoro says and I chuckle.

"Well considering there's three bullets in that arm as well as two in my shoulder and at least ten more in my back I think it's understandable that my punch is going to be weak." I say and I feel a finger poke my back near a bullet hole.

"Luffy don't do that." I hear Nami say as well as a slap sound.

"What did you need Luffy?" I ask looking over my shoulder at him.

"Do you need me to pull the bullets out?" Luffy asks and I shake my head.

"Let's wait for Chopper or another doctor. It's not that I don't trust your experience but I think someone who can work quick and fast is best needed in this situation." I say rolling a shoulder cracking it and a pellet falls out of the hole in the back of it.

"Do you want to add them to the collection?" Luffy asks picking up the bloody bullet and I nod. I take the bullet from him and place it in my pocket as the little girl pretty much runs up with an older man following behind.

"Someone needs medical attention?" The older man asks so I can assume he's the doctor.

"Yeah, him. He's been shot multiple times." The girl says pointing at me and I make a gesture to Zoro. Zoro stands up and gently helps me up as well.

"Where's your place?" I ask and the doctor gestures to follow him.

"We'll meet back up with you guys later." Zoro calls back to the group as he walks beside me steadying me now and then so I don't fall over.

"Okay see you guys later." Luffy yells and a couple minutes later we stop in front of a small cottage like building.

"In here to the left." The doctor says opening the door and I move into the left room where a bed is set up in the middle. I gently sit down on the bed with Zoro taking the chair beside the foot of the bed and the doctor walks in a second later.

"Can you take off your jacket and shirt?" The doctor asks and I nod slipping off my jacket.

"Just to let you know I'm a girl and please don't inform anyone else about this." I say looking at the doctor as I reached for the bottom hem of my shirt.

"It's of no importance to me and I won't inform anyone." The doctor says pulling a rolling stool over to the bed and I pull my shirt off leaving me in just my bindings for my upper body. The doctor hands me a blanket and I turn so my back's facing them before undoing the bindings. I hold the blanket against my front so I have some privacy while the doctor works.

"Oh can I keep the bullets afterwards?" I ask about halfway through the progress.

"Sure but if I may inquire about why you want them?" The doctor asks.

"I want to add them to my collection." I say.

"I was wondering about that? What collection are you talking about?" Zoro asks I turn my head to look at where he's sitting with his face looking away from me and a slight blush on his face.

"Oh, my collection of bullets I've been shot with." I say really wanting to shrug but not doing it for the doctor's process. I turn my head back to looking at the map that was on the wall in front of me.

"How many bullets do you have so far?" Zoro asks cautiously.

"Including these it'll be up to four hundred and fifty-eight." I say just as I feel the doctor extract the last bullet.

"You've been shot that many times and have no scars that come from bullet wounds?" The doctor asks in shock and I nod.

"Yeah 'cause I have a faster healing rate than others so the smaller wounds close quickly." I say and just as I finish my sentence I feel the tingling sensation through my back indicating that the healing process has started. As soon as the feelings gone I put everything back on and turn around to face the others.

"That is in fact a lot faster healing rate than others." The doctor says and I nod.

"Yeah I don't really know what caused it but there's nothing I can do about it." I say standing up and taking the bullets from where the doctor placed them. "I'm going to take a walk so I'll see you back at the Sunny Zoro and thank you doctor for the assistance." I say bowing to the doctor in thanks.

"It's no problem. It's the least I could do for what you've done for this island and people." The doctor says with a smile on his face. "You really are a straw hat whether you say you are or not."

"No matter what Kaede says she's a straw hat." Zoro says standing up and giving me a small smile.

"I figured that out today." I say before nodding goodbye once again and heading out for a walk. I walk around for a bit before coming upon an orange plantation where the girl from earlier was sitting and Nami was starting to sit down beside her.

"Why are you here?" The girl asks Nami.

"I heard there was an orange plantation so... What a view." Nami says noticing the view from where they were sitting.

"My dad used to love this place and so did I." The girl says.

"You know I was like you. I really hated pirates." Nami says.

"What? Then why did you become one?" The girl asks.

"Well... I'm not sure why. Luffy isn't the kind of pirate you think he is." Nami says.

"Yeah I think I see what you mean." The girl says laughing. "He's too stupid naïve to be a pirate. Is the other guy a pirate? The one that saved me."

"Do you mean Kaede?" Nami asks and the girl nods. "Yeah Kaede's a pirate. He's worth three hundred and seventy million."

"Wow, he doesn't seem like someone who would have a bounty that high." The girl says.

"Yeah I know but truthfully it doesn't surprise me anymore. Kaede was raised with Luffy and Luffy's family is a little bit of a powerhouse." Nami says.

"It's more than a little bit." I say walking over and scaring the two. "Sorry didn't mean to scare you."

"How long have you been here?" Nami asks as I sit down beside her.

"I got here about the same time you did Nami." I say resting my elbows on my knees and my chin on my palm.

"Did you hate pirates when you were young?" The girl asks and I shake my head.

"No, you guys saw the bad side of pirates while I was forced to witness the bad side of the government." I say glancing over at the two from the corner of my eye.

"Can I ask?" Nami asks and I shrug.

"When I was around five the government killed my father and then on my sixth birthday they killed my mother." I say not elaborating more than I had to.

"I see. You did see the bad side of the government." Nami says before standing up. "I wonder if they finished their fight yet?"

"I wonder how Boss did." The girl says and we head down to the beach. Most of the crew was sitting there on the sand and it seems that Luffy had just fought with the beetle. I walk over to where Zoro, Sanji, and Usopp were sitting to the side.

"Alright that it; It's time to go back to the sea." Nami says while clapping to get the guys attention and I offer my hand towards Zoro who accepts.
