Hi everyone!!  SylveonKwami here.

Here I am with the last chapter.  That's right.  The LAST chapter!!  Boy, I haven't updated this fast since the beginning of the book (and I guess Saturday too lol).  Well.. this is the moment you've all been waiting for..

Will Serena live?

Well... you're about to find out!!

Enjoy this last chapter, and be sure to read the other two parts I released with it.  At the end of the last part I will be tagging those who supported me the most on my book..

So.. let's start!!

Enjoy >v<

Ash

"Ash..."

"Ash, wake up!"

Ash was jolted awake by the sound of Clemont's voice, and he slowly sat up.  He rubbed his eyes, blinking in the early dawn light.  Why was Clemont here so early?  Why-

With a jolt, he remembered what happened last night.

Cold.

Dark.

Blood.

Death.

For a moment he felt strangled, as if someone was physically choking him.  Serena no no no no no no no-

"Ash, Ash calm down!" Clemont told him, putting a hand on his shoulder.

"O-Okay..." he responded, taking a deep breath.  "Y-You said last night that you'd tell me if Serena is fine.  Well, is she?" he asked, looking at Clemont.  His friend went silent for a second.  "Is she!?" Ash questioned again, beginning to panic.  Oh Arceus she really is dead oh Arceus why.. why would you taunt me with a chance to save her if it was just a li-

"Ash.  Please calm down, and I will tell you how she is.  You won't process the information properly in that state.  Please?" Clemont added desperately, sitting down beside Ash in the dark tent.

"O-Okay.  I'm calm.  Really, I am," Ash insisted when Clemont gave him a look.

"Well, Ash, Serena... Serena is awake-"

"Let me see her!" Ash practically roared, trying to stand up.  He flopped back down to the ground, Clemont pulling him down.  "Clemont, let-"

"Let me finish, Ash," he said.  "Serena is fine now, but I think she has water in her lungs.  It is very dangerous, and she could die if we don't get her help.  I already got Espeon to restore her, and she's just trying to keep warm right now.  She's very traumatized, like you were, so I need you not to freak her out, alright?  I'll give you ten minutes, then we need to go to a hospital... or else she really could die- oof!" Clemont exclaimed as Ash suddenly hugged him.

"Thank you, thank you for saving her, thank you so, so much," Ash said, happy tears coming from his eyes.  He hugged his friend tight, because Serena was alive!  She isn't dead!

"Uh.. no need to thank me, Serena's my friend too," Clemont reminded him.  "But Ash.. if you wanna talk to her, you should probably go now.  She's by my tent- I have a small fire going for her."

"Wait Clemont, did you sleep at all?" Ash asked him, because from what Clemont said he hadn't slept all night.

"Not really," he said.  "But it's fine!  After we get Serena the help she needs, I'll take a nap then," he said.  "But Ash, go!"

"On it!" Ash said, pushing himself off of the tent's floor.  He ducked out of the tent, and as quietly as he could (he didn't want to wake anyone else up, after all), he made his way to Clemont's tent.  He could see Bonnie sleeping peacefully inside, and he could smell the smoke from the fire.  He made his way to the back of the tent, where he found her.

Serena.

There she was, wrapped up in some blankets, sitting by the fire.  She turned when she heard his footsteps, and the two locked eyes.  For a second, no one moved, no one dared to.  They just stared into each other's eyes, the chaos of the night finally coming to an end.

Then suddenly, Ash was running, and Serena was running too, until they met each other in the middle.  Ash just held her in his arms and she did the same; both of their tears raining down and mixing together.

"Serena... I thought you d-died," Ash stuttered, overcome with emotion.

"M-Me too," she said, giving him a little smile.  She gestured for him to sit down by the fire with her, and he did.

"Serena.. you wouldn't be proud of m-me.  I was a j-jerk to you, and when I thought you d-died I wasn't strong.  Y-You wouldn't have liked how I acted.  I wasn't the A-Ash you know.  I was weak, and I kept breaking, again and again-"

"Shh, shh," Serena whispered, stroking his face in an attempt to calm him down.  "I'm here now.  I promise, I'm not going anywhere."

"My heart and soul," Ash said softly to her.  "That's what you are to me."

"That makes sense," Serena said.  "That's what you've been to me for as long as I can remember."

"I-I love you, Serena.  I hope you know that."

"I know, Ash.  I l-love you too."

With that, the couple shared a passionate kiss.  Not their first, but it was one they would remember forever.

"Uh... Ash?  Serena?"

Red-faced, the two turned towards Clemont, who was standing awkwardly behind him.  "I'm sorry to i-interrupt but..."

"N-Nah, it's okay, Clemont.  I'm guessing it's time to go?" Ash checked, helping Serena stand up with him.

"Yeah.  Luxray can take us there, so-"

"No, Clemont.  You stay and rest," Ash told his friend.  "You've had a long night.  Luxray can take me and Serena, and it'll come back to get you once you've had a chance to sleep."

"Are you sure?" Clemont checked.

"Positively," Serena chimed in.

"O-Okay, thanks you two," their friend said gratefully.  Taking out a Pokeball, he added "Luxray, come on out!"

A blue light came from the Pokeball, and Luxray appeared moments later, letting out a small grunt.

"I need you take Ash and Serena to the hospital, okay?  Come back when they've gotten there safely," Clemont added, and Luxray nodded, gesturing for the two lovers to climb on his back.  With a final wave to Clemont, the two (and Luxray of course) set off into the weak dawn light.

"I'm a little scared, Ash," Serena admitted, and Ash put his arms around her.  She grabbed onto them gratefully, letting out a small sigh.

"Don't be scared.  They're only going to check to make sure you're alright.  If there's any problems, they'll fix them, and once we get there I'm going to call Grace too.  See?  You're going to be fine," Ash reassured her, giving her a patient smile.  "I'm going to be there with you the whole time."

"Th-Thank you, Ash," Serena said.  "Th-Thank you for being you, and for always being there for me.  From that moment when we were kids, to now.  Just... thank you."

"Like I said, you're my heart and soul.  Always, my love."

... okay, even I admit that was a little bit of a cringy ending.

But at least Serena is alive, right!?

I mean, come on.  Did you really think this is some kind of Romeo and Juliet ending I had planned for this story!?

Anyways.  As you can tell I've published three parts, and the Epilogue is next, if you want a better ending.

So, on to the next part!!
