Chapter 13 ~ Doctor Dillamond
You waited nervously, sweat dripping down your face in beads as the elevator put itself into motion, moving upward. You knew it wasn't going to be a long wait, only a one-floor difference. When it stopped you froze up with it, but it was only temporary, cause as soon as those doors flipped open, revealing a room of wide range and all the guards inhabiting it sprinting towards you, your feet took off running. Around a corner, into another hallway, a door slam or two, and trip to the bathroom. You turned into the bathroom stalls, it was clear it was the females, thank gosh. You rushed over into the farthest stall and stood silent. "Never in my life..." you whispered under your breath.
Twenty minutes past. The silence was becoming unbearable. It's almost like the guards had forgotten all about you, or so you hoped. Well, you decided that it was about time you man up and get moving. Or perhaps you should woman up? Someone else walked into the bathroom. You froze, your entire body tensing. They moved past your stall and proceeded to what you thought were showers. Oh, thank the heavens. You peeked out of the small compartment once you were sure she'd closed the door, the shadow of the woman standing inside the shower next to you gleamed across the floor. You removed yourself from the small space as an idea popped into your head. As she climbed into the shower, the water already running, you peered inside, not at her, but at her clothes, her lab coat, laying on the floor. You snatched it and tucked yourself away inside the stall you'd hid in before. You stripped yourself of your obnoxious Class D clothing and slipped on the scientist's clothes. You pulled her name tag around your neck as well. "Man, I hope this works," you muttered, pushing your clothes into her shower stall. You then continued to walk out into the hall, nervous, afraid. You strode down the hallway, desperately looking for something to get you on track to find his cell. The whole chase pulled you away from your concentration, now you had no earthly idea as to where you were. You sighed. "Oh! Catherine! Is that you?" A male voice called. You prayed he didn't mean you, but you practically died inside when someone's hand made contact with your shoulder, so you turned to face him. You looked at him with a nervous smile. "You're Catherine, right? The new girl?" he asked, dang was he hot too. Hot, caring....you shook the thought away immediately. This was all for 049. You glimpsed down at your name tag quickly, you thought you caught a C somewhere in there, so, yeah. You nodded, your fake smile staying in place. "Great! I thought they told you where you'd be heading, didn't they?" he asked, a questionable smile scribbled on his face. "Oh, um...n-no they didn't. They just t-told me to get changed." You muttered as clearly and confidently as possible. "Oh, well I'm rounding you and some others up for some studying. We'll be performing some tests on SCP-106." he said, a small grin on his face, "But no need to be nervous, that old coot is safely contained." you looked at him with a funny yet fearful smile. "Which...one..is..um..SCP-106 again?" you stumbled on your words. "Good heavens they haven't told you anything have they? During containment breaches, he's the main reason people's keys go missing." He chuckled. "Keys?" you questioned. "Yeah! He steals em' into his pocket dimension. Not to mention the Class D's we don't have to kill because he takes care of them for us." he said with a smile, "Now follow me, I'll take you to your reported area." he said calmly as he started walking and you followed behind. "So what are we doing?" you asked, glancing around the facility as you walked. You could hear parts of conversations. 'Did they ever find the loose Class D?' one mumbled. 'I don't believe, but what harm could some idiot girl do?' another replied. It made you grimace. "....so we'll be taking notes. You have equipment for that, right?" he asked, and it was now that you realized he'd been talking. "What? Oh, I'm s-sorry I got distracted," you mumbled nervously. He just laughed in response. "That's totally reasonable, there's a lot to think about in a place like this. I said that we'd be sending a reinforced Class D equipped with a camera into SCP-106's containment cell, aimed to be sent to his pocket dimension in hopes that we could get some info on the place. We're responsible for taking notes." he concluded. He was too peppy to be some scientist in this horror show of a government facility. Well, what else would you expect from a secret government establishment? It was just...almost funny how okay with everything this guy was. Anyhow..."How am I supposed to take notes, I don't have anything to take them on..." you whispered. "Ah, yes. That's normal. Though, I would think they'd give you something. We're taking a detour then, I'll have to get you a clipboard and paper at least." I guess it depends on what class you are, but of course, I can tell from your name tag you're only a level 1 class C and aren't given a tablet to keep track of your notes. So this will do." He then took a turn and you almost tripped over his heel. You stumbled, though...
Once he got you some paper, a clipboard, and a pen he led you to SCP-106's containment cell. There were other scientists in there, taking notes. Some of them had clipboards like you, and some of them had tablets, like the man who'd brought you here foretold. You sat down next to some other Class Cs and observed the camera's screen and the containment cell along with the others.
After about an hour or so, the tests were finished with little success, the camera cut out as soon as the Class D entered the pocket dimension and he was so petrified from his experience that he refused to speak. They said we'd meet back up once the simple Class D had calmed down. "So...are we on break?" you asked the man who'd led you here. He nodded. "You can basically go anywhere you're authorized to. You could head to the cafeteria and get some food or go observe another SCP if you'd like." He said with a blunt smile. You nodded in return. "Okay thanks..." you looked at his name card for the first time, "Doctor...Dillamond?" you asked. Confusing. Have I heard that somewhere? Anyhow... "Well, I'll be going then....um...tootles!" you exclaimed, walking away, pacing yourself with maybe a bit too much speed as you knew exactly where you were heading.
