53. A Night To Remember

It had taken the Dream Team all afternoon to set up the old book shop they had rented into a pop up restaurant, but they did it. Jimin and Taehyung were currently busy hanging up black out curtains to make sure that no light that night could come in from any of the windows. Though it was more accurate to say that Taehyung was struggling to hang the curtains by himself while Jimin played with the night vision glasses and voice changer since he had been designated the host that evening.

"Welcome to a place where you can't see your dinner or your date or anything," came a crackled and distorted voice as Jimin held the box up to his mouth. "Welcome to the place without a name since it will be here for one night only..."

Jimin brought the voice changer away from his mouth as he looked at Taehyung who was shooting him a glare.

"Well, it doesn't have a name yet, does it?"

"Well, no, but..."

"Then it's a place without a name," said Jimin again into the voice changer.

Taehyung - who had just gotten done hanging up the last curtain - got down off the ladder and walked over to snatch the voice changer out of the giggling Jimin's grasp.

"I hope you'll take it seriously tonight," said Taehyung as he looked over at where Ruby and Freddi were busy making sure that all the crockpots were plugged in and the food was properly covered.

Freddi had enlisted her mother to help her cook food so they would have something to serve that evening. They had a table set up in the small office area of the shop to use as a makeshift kitchen, which is where both girls currently were. Jimin turned his head to follow Taehyung's gaze even though he knew full well where it had landed.

"You really love her, don't you?" He asked softly.

"I do," said Taehyung as he looked from Ruby to Jimin. "Now that I remember, I know why I was feeling so weird around her."

"I hope you know that I still have a hard time believing all this...whatever this is, but know that I'm happy to see you happy."

Jimin patted Taehyung's shoulder before his face lit up with a smile.

"OH! I thought of a name for the pop up restaurant!"

"Do I even dare ask?"

"Blind Steaking!"

"No! That sounds so morbid!"

"It's a killer hangout," said Jimin with a grin.

"I'm starting to seriously reconsider you being the host tonight."

'Remember the plan,' thought Charming as he moved to walk out of the apartment with Ame later that evening.

Ruby had temporarily come by while Ame had been busy getting ready in the bathroom to relay the plan to Charming. She had given him an address on a slip of paper, and told him that - when they entered - to stand a few feet off to the side of Ame so that Taehyung could come in and switch him with Jungkook. As they walked down the stairs to go outside the apartment building together, Charming couldn't help but to look over at Ame. She had spent time getting ready because she thought she was going on a date with him. He felt bad being so deceptive, but this would be for a good thing in the end. Maybe she would thank him. He just hoped that she wouldn't push him out of her life forever.

"The address isn't very far from here," said Ame. "It's just a short drive. 'Eating With Your Soul' is an interesting name for the pop up place too."

Charming nodded as Ame slipped one of her hands into his as they walked toward the car in the parking lot. Ruby had left the car for the two of them for their date. Freddi had borrowed her mother's mini van to cart Taehyung, Jimin, and Ruby to the location they had rented for the night for the pop up restaurant. Ame walked over to the car, unlocking it and getting into the driver's seat. Charming stared at the passenger door for a moment, wondering how to open it. He hadn't ever been in a car since becoming human. The last memory he had of a car was getting hit by one.

He fought the tremble in his hand as he wrapped his fingers around the door handle, trying to tug at it and get it open. When Ame saw his struggle, she moved to get out of the car and come over to his side.

"Breathe," she said gently, pressing a kiss to his cheek as she leaned over to open the door for him.

He turned to look at her, nodding his head before he slipped into the car. Ame walked around the car to get back into her seat, leaning back over to help him with the buckle once she was inside.

"This is different than the night I lost you," reassured Ame as she turned on the car.

'You're about to lose me in a completely different way soon,' thought Charming as he leaned back in his seat as they started to drive towards the location.

For most of the ride over they remained in silence. Charming had his hands on his lap, anxiously playing with them for a moment before looking out the window at the fading scenery outside.

"You look handsome," said Ame, trying to break the silence as she looked over at him momentarily before focusing back on the road again.

"Thanks," he said as he looked over at her, "And you look beautiful. That dress is stunning on you."

A faint blush colored Ame's cheeks even though it was hard to see in the darkness of the car. Charming could only catch glimpses of her apple blossom tinted cheeks whenever they passed under a street lamp. Every time they did, the street lamp would temporarily illuminate the interior of the car like a camera flash.

When Charming and Ame finally arrived at the location, Ame parked the car in the tiny parking lot. She looked over at Charming in the passenger seat beside her. She had been surprised to see that he had managed to clean himself up rather nicely on his own. He was dressed in all black.

"I'm excited," said Ame as she looked over at Charming. "Thank you for doing this for me."

He nodded, shooting a small smile her way.

"I'd do anything for you," he said. "Please always remember that."

"Of course I'll remember that," said Ame as she leaned over to kiss Charming gently on the cheek. "Come on. Let's go in."

Charming got out of his side of the car, walking over to Ame's side. He moved to hold her hand tightly in his as he entered the building with her. They entered through a lit doorway until they entered a dark chamber. Both of them were soon plunged into darkness.

"Please hold out your arms," said a distorted voice in front of them.

Charming did as he was asked; his hand slipping from Ame's grasp. He felt someone grab him gently by the shoulders. This was all part of the plan. He soundlessly stepped backwards as he was guided by the person with their hands on his shoulders, losing Ame in the darkness. When Charming was allowed to stop moving backwards, he felt Ruby lean up to whisper in his ear.

"Well done, Charming."

When Taehyung had seen Ruby maneuver Charming backwards into the dark, he moved to escort Jungkook through the dark to his spot. After fighting with him to dress nice even with his continued insisting that it didn't matter since they were dining in the dark, Taehyung had taken an Uber with him across town to the location. Taehyung had snuck him in through the back door of the place, slipping on night vision glasses shortly after he had entered to see clearly where to go. Once Jungkook was in place where Charming had been standing, Jimin walked forward and made sure that Jungkook and Ame's wrists were tied together with the ribbon. There was about four or five feet of slack in the ribbon between them.

"You are being tired together so you won't lose each other in the dark," said Jimin's distorted voice. "You may put your arms down."

Ame and Jungkook put their arms down. Jungkook could feel that he was tied off to someone beside him, moving to slip his hand into hers. He didn't know if the woman he was beside was nervous, but he wanted to make sure that she was as relaxed as possible. Jimin reached out to grab them each by their free hand, directing them through the dark towards their table and helping them to each have a seat.

The silence between Jungkook and Ame was deafening as the meal was served, but that was the point of the experience. However, it just escalated the tension in the room. Dinner was served by Taehyung and Jimin. Once Freddi had plated the food, the two of them would bring it to the table. Ruby held tightly to Charming's hand in the dark, hoping against all hopes that this plan of theirs would work. It just had to. She wanted her sister to find her lost love just like she had found hers.

When the meal was done, they all watched as the pair both looked around in the darkness, wondering when they would get to leave. Jimin quickly moved to walk over to the table with Taehyung.

"Before you leave, you must pay for the meal. Payment for the meal is simply a kiss," said Jimin into the voice changer.

Taehyung moved to stand behind Jungkook and help him to his feet while Jimin helped Ame up. As Jungkook and Ame stood just feet from each other, Jimin and Taehyung moved to back up and stand where Freddi, Ruby, and Charming were. They watched as Jungkook slowly reached out to grab Ame's hand, squeezing it before taking a step forward to lessen the space between them. Soon Jungkook's free hand was sitting gently on the woman's cheek. Ame's free hand moved up to do the same in return; her thumb gently stroking over his cheek.

Taehyung had moved to grab Ruby's free hand, squeezing it tightly. They were right on the brink of it all. All they had to do was lean forward a bit more. All five of them stood with bated breaths as they watched the scene unfold.

Jungkook used his fingers to gently feel where the outline of her lips were. When he found them, he used his thumb to trace them. Without another word, Jungkook closed the space between them as he gently captured Ame's lips with his own; Ame soon moving to kiss him back.
