"Charming, you know we don't have to pack all this into one day, right?"

After Ame had eaten the egg that she had helped to prepare, Charming started to tell her all the things he wanted to do with her today. They were walking down the street together as Ame dug out her phone to open the list she had typed of everything Charming had said he wanted to do.

"I know," said Charming, "But I want to. I think we have time."

Ame looked over the list that she had typed in her phone, trying to review it to see if they indeed had time for everything.

"Well, lets see. You want to try ice cream, learn to roller skate, go to a movie, try working a job,..."

"The job is a practical one," insisted Charming, "Especially since I'm a human."

"You're in luck with that one seeing as I have to work part of the afternoon shift," said Ame. "I just...I don't know if we'll have time for everything."

"Just make time for what you can," said Charming.

"Okay," said Ame, "But keep in mind that just because we don't do it today doesn't mean we won't do it another. Don't treat this like a bucket list. We will have other days."

"What's a bucket list?"

"It's a list of things someone wants to do before they die," said Ame.

'Well, this relationship is about to be dead,' thought Charming. 'Does that count?'

When they arrived at the grocery store, they were met by another member of staff at the register that didn't look enthused to be there on a weekend. Freddi wasn't working today and Charming was thankful. He didn't want to worry that he could get pelted by oranges if he made some sort of mistake.

After getting permission from her boss to let Charming work her shift with her, Ame handed Charming an apron. Charming looked at the apron in his hands for a moment and at the loop where his head was supposed to slip through. Ame slipped hers on and Charming watched how she did it, trying to imitate her to the best of his ability. Thankfully he managed to figure it out relatively quick.

The work shift went by faster than Charming would have liked, but he felt that he did actually learn a few skills. He had several blunders with Ame. The most memorable blunder was when he was trying to help her set up a toilet paper display in the middle of one of the aisles. He had accidentally elbowed part of the stack when he was trying to bring his hand back, knocking the whole thing down. They worked the registers together towards the end of the shift. A few customers came over to Ame while they worked at the register, wondering if she was Panic Girl. It irritated Charming for Ame's sake seeing what it did to her. At one point - right before they were both about to leave for the day - yet another person came over and asked Ame that.

"She has a name," said Charming as he put an arm about Ame's shoulders. "Can you read the name tag?"

Ame's face colored with a blush as the bewildered teenager stared from Charming to the name tag that he was currently pointing out that was pinned to Ame's work apron.

"What about you?" asked the teenager, turning to Charming then as she pointed at his name tag less apron. "Are you Panic Girl then?"

"Nope. I'm just Charming," said Charming with a wide smile.

"Loser," said the teenager before walking off; Ame laughing as she did.

"What's wrong with her? I just told her the truth."

"Charming isn't a name that humans call themselves," said Ame as she began to close down her register; Charming taking his arm down from about her shoulders. "She probably thought that you were being super egotistical."

"What does that mean?"

"Full of yourself basically."

"Isn't everyone full of themselves?" asked Charming as he began to follow Ame towards the employee area, poking at himself. Ame couldn't hide the chuckle again.

"If you look at it that way, yes," said Ame.

Charming gave Ame the apron back to return, soon leaving the store with her to head towards the nearby ice cream parlor.

"Charming isn't a human name then?" asked Charming as they walked.

"No," said Ame. "A nickname maybe, but not a name. Like me, for instance. My name isn't Ame. My real name is Amethyst."

"Should I have a new name?"

Ame shook her head.

"No. Your name fits you perfectly. Your personality is absolutely charming, and you...you're my Prince Charming."

"Well, prince is my last name," he said.

With what Taehyung and Ruby said last night still cycling through his head, he decided to see if Ame remembered anything of that night.

"Hey Ame," he said. "How did you choose your name for me?"

"I don't really remember," said Ame. "I just remember I was heartbroken the night you came into my life, and you made me whole. You were like my Prince Charming then just as you are now."

Charming felt Ame slip her hand into his as they arrived at the ice cream parlor. Ame ordered a vanilla ice cream, and he moved to do the same since he had never had ice cream before. They moved to take a seat at one of the picnic tables together as Charming looked at the ice cream in his hand. He held the cone up, watching the ice cream start to melt and dribble down the cone.

"What do I do?" Charming asked in a slight panic.

"Lick it," she said. "It's gonna to keep melting."

Charming moved to do as Ame had instructed, trying to catch the drops. The sweetness set off his taste buds; his eyes lighting up in delight.

"This is delicious!" said Charming before taking a bite off the top.

"Careful or you're going to give yourself brain freeze."

"What's that?"

"It's when the cold gets to you and you're temporarily frozen in pain..."

Charming took another large bite off the top of his ice cream when what Ame had been warning him about happened. He screwed both eyes shut, forgetting about his ice cream as he clasped both hands to his temples.

"Ow! Ow! Ow!"

"It's okay," said Ame, reaching out her free hand to put on his shoulder. "It will pass. All pain does if you give it enough time."

'I hope that pain is true when it comes to a broken heart,' thought Charming as he opened an eye to look at her, watching as she helped him clean up the ice cream he had dropped everywhere.

After the ice cream, they had both decided to go home to get ready for dinner later that night. Charming was sitting on the edge of Ame's bed as he watched her rifle through the closet to look for something to wear. As Ame pushed hangers back and forth in her closet looking for the perfect outfit, Charming looked down at Shadow in his old cage.

"You said we're dining in the dark, right?"

"Yes," said Charming as his eyes flicked from Shadow back to her.

"I don't know why I'm so worried about dressing up nicely then. What are you planning to wear?"

"Black," said Charming.

"Black?"

"Yeah. It's a color you're comfortable with," said Charming, "And I thought an all black outfit would fit the theme."

"Listen to you," said Ame as she turned to look at Charming on the edge of her bed. "'Fit the theme'...You're turning into quite the smart human."

"Wasn't it just a night or two ago that you were questioning that?" asked Charming with a slight laugh. "I just take some time to adjust. I'll be okay."

"I know you will be," said Ame as she dragged a red dress out of the closet. "How about this?"

Charming just stared at the dress for a moment without replying. That was the dress he remembered from his dreams.

"You remember this dress, don't you?" asked Ame.

Charming nodded.

"I thought it would be fitting to wear to our first date seeing as this was what I was wearing when we first met technically."

"You'll look like a princess," he said as he watched her dig out some white heels from the back of her closet.

"And you - all in black - will look Charming."

She walked over to him, kissing the top of his head gently. Charming smiled softly; his eyes falling on the heels in her hands.

"You wore those that night too, didn't you."

"I did," she said, "And they hurt my feet. My Mom didn't want the shoes back after that night. She said they suited me better. I haven't worn them since that night, but...I want everything to be the same tonight. I want to recreate the night I met you. It'll be magical."

"I bet it will be," said Charming as he looked at Ame.

"Let me help you get changed," said Ame, "And then I'll get changed."

Charming moved to stand off the edge of the bed, looking at Ame. He wanted to do nothing more at that moment than to reach out and kiss her; to hold her tight and never let her go. However, he knew that she was about to go back into the arms of her true love. He would soon be completing his job. Surely though he was allowed one last kiss to hold onto.

Without thinking, Charming moved to allow himself one last kiss to her lips. It was a deeply passionate kiss that would convey to Ame how important she was to him, and how deserving of a happy ending she really was.

"I'll be fine to change on my own," said Charming, trying to slow his breathing down. "Practice makes perfect, right? Isn't that a saying?"

"Yes," said Ame who was still on cloud nine from the kiss she had just shared with him.

She watched him walk out of her bedroom before moving to shut the door to get changed for what she was sure would be the best evening of her life.
