Monday morning. I dragged myself into school, tired from staying up so late last night. I thought about what Hanji told me; about her brother being my match. It was too weird to think about actually happening. I mean, I always imagined an older person as my dream guy.
"Age doesn't matter when it comes to love," Hanji's words echoed in my head. I mentally pushed it away, deciding not to be bothered by it. It's not like I have to go through with the results. He's just too adorable in a little kid way.
Mina came walking up to me, glancing around the halls and lightly scratching the side of her neck. "Hey, Jaehwa," she quietly greeted. "So, I got the same person as last time: Seokcheol."
I gave a sarcastic gasp. "It must be true love."
"I... I want to talk to him," she admitted.
"Then do it." I looked around the hall, trying to see if I could find him anywhere. Mina directed my head over to the where the Cupid Booth was set up in the hall this time. The results were posted there.
He was walking up to the table, looking through the list for his name. His head glanced up in our direction, so Mina and I both quickly spun around, acting like we weren't staring.
"Just say hi," I told her.
"It's not that easy," she whined. "I'm too shy. I'll wait for him to say something."
I shook my head, deciding to change the subject since I knew there's no convincing her. "You know Hanji? She's in the grade above."
Mina nodded. "She works with the Cupid Booth."
"Yeah. Her little brother is Sagang, the boy I ran into and you said was adorable."
"Yes, I know who you're talking about."
"I was matched with him, according to Hanji."
Mina's mouth parted in surprise. "Really? Awe, that's so cute! Usually, they don't match guys with older girls, but you two must really be meant for each other." She wiggled her eyesbrows. "I ship it."
"Shush," I told her, giving her shoulder a light push. "I'm not going to go through with it."
Her excited expression fell. "But... I ship it."
"Sorry?" I swung an arm over her shoulders. "Let's head to our first-period class. I just need to grab my books from my locker."
On our way, I made a quick stop at my locker. When I opened it, I was shocked to find a rose and a small piece of paper taped to the inside of the door. Mina gasped, her hands flying to her mouth in delight.
I removed the paper to read it more closely...
Happy Valentine's Week, Jaehwa! I hope to make it worthwhile for you :3

"Jeong Sagang," I muttered under my breath, amused by his actions. A small huff of laughter escaped. "How cute."
"Now are you convinced to talk to him?" Mina asked, looking at the note over my shoulder.
"I don't think so." I carefully folded the note and slide it onto the top shelf of my locker. "I appreciate his willingness to try, and it's quite flattering, but I wouldn't be able to see him that way."
Mina pouted. "Fine. Just know that you're probably going to break this poor kid's heart."
"Don't make me feel bad! I don't want to hurt him. I'm just not attracted to him."
"Whatever," Mina rolled her eyes, grabbing my arm to pull me down the hall. "Let's go to class."
