Recap on Previous event: Cuphead, Mugman, and Red Rose have found the Devil's pitchfork after he lefts it against a tree by mistake. Cuphead and Mugman have fun with it much to Red Rose's concern, and the Devil finds out after learning that they have it, and reveals that Cuphead and Red Rose no longer owe him their souls. And now because Cuphead has taken something of great value to the Devil, the Devil decides to take something of great value to him: his brother, Mugman.

And which leads to her, Cuphead and Red Rose remain in shock at what happened, especially Cuphead.

Cuphead says in a petrified tone, "Mugman," Cuphead then picks up the bike and the pitchfork, "Mugman."

Red Rose wants to say something to him, but seeing Cuphead in the state is devastating. He can understand, losing his brother must have been an utter shock to him.

Cuphead then cycles the bike back home and continues to say, "Mugman."

Soon, Cuphead and Red Rose return to the cottage.

Still, Cuphead continues to say, "Mugman."

Soon, Cuphead and Red Rose enter the house, and pass Elder Kettle who is reading the newspaper on the couch. Elder Kettle notices the depressed look on his face and he falls face first on the pillow on the couch.

Red Rose softly says in sadness, "Oh Cuphead."

Elder Kettle sits on the couch next to him and asks, "What in the world's wrong, boy? Did you lose something?"

Cuphead muffles as he nods his head against the pillow.

"What could you possibly lose to make you so upset?" Elder Kettle asks.

Cupehad turns his head and answers, "M... m..." but is too upset to say Mugman's name and instead says, "My pocket knife!"

"Aw, is that all?" Kettle questions and says, "That's easily replaceable. It's not like you lose Mugnan.

Cuphead gasps frightfully.

Red Rose flinches and says in thought, "Why did he say that?!"

And with that, Cuphead cries and runs out the door in tears.

Red Rose chases after him, "Cuphead, come back!"

Elder Kettle walks out to see the kids leaving.

He shakes his head and says, "They're so emotional at this age."

Cuphead continues to cry and sits down under the tree, hugs his knees and places his head down. Red Rose walks to Cuphead and sits next to him in sadness.

"Cuphead, are you going to be okay?" Red Rose asks.

However, Cuphead continues to muffle in tears.

"I know it's bad, like really bad," Red Rose says.

In tears, Cuphead lifts his head up and says, "Bad?! This is more than bad! I decided to mess with the Devil using his pitchfork and he took Mugman! The Devil has kidnapped my brother and it's all my fault!"

Then hugs his hees and places his head on them as he muffles, "I should have listened to you and Mugman from the start."

"Cuphead, there's no use of grieving over what's been done. It seems to me that you have two things you can do about this. #1: You can continue sitting under the tree, crying and beat yourself up over this whole mess, or #2: We find a way to get to where the Devil is at and rescue Mugman? What's it gonna be?" Red Rose says.

Cuphead lifts his head up and wipes the tears off his face.

He turns to Red Rose and says, "You're right. I... I can't cry over what has already happened." then says, "I got Mugman into his mess, and I gotta get him out of this."

Cuphead says, and gets on the bike.

Red Rose gets on her bike and says, "I'm coming with you."

"Are... are you sure?" Cuphead asks.

"I'm sure. You and Mugman are my friends. Also, it's too dangerous for you to go alone," Red Rose says. She then smiles and says, "Gotta help a friend in need.

Cuphead hugs Red Rose, "Thanks Rose, you the greatest friend a cup can ever have."

"Thanks," Red Rose, and hugs Cuphead back.

Then says, "Now come on, we're on a rescue mission."

Right," Cuphead says.

Cuphead and Red Rose pedal their bikes down the bike.

Cuphead says, "Don't worry, Mugsy, we'll find some way to bring you home."

Meanwhile, somewhere in the Underworld, souls are practically slaving away as they are either being tortured or watched by the demon guards. Having been chained in the wall next to another prisoner, Mugman is whistling a happy tune, and surprisingly, not scared of being here.

Mugman turns to the prisoner next to him and asks, "So, how long have you been here?"

The prisoner however, lets out a scream, "AAAAAAAAAAAH!"

"Ya don't say. Well, I'm only here till my brother and friend come and get me,," Mugman replies.

Suddenly, Mugman hears footsteps and turns to see one of the guards approaching him with his feet pounding the ground.

The guard says, "Prisoner, don't talk to the inhabitants!"

Mugman looks at the demon and says, "Wow, look at them chompers." and points to them with his foot.

Then asks, "Can you even close your mouth all the way?"

The demon flinches for a second, and says, "Don't talk to me either."

"Just one more question, is it hard for you to eat pasghetti with those?" Mugman asks.

The demon eyes wonder for a second and says, "Not if I cut it up."

Mugman says in disgust, "Ew, you cut up pasghetti? Gross."

"I said no talking to me! The guard demands.

Mugman soon notices a switch and asks, "Oh hey, what's this thing do?"

Mugman slips his out of the puff and pulls down the switch.

The guard panics, "Oh no!"

Soon, a trap door appears and the guard falls in. Whatever happens to the guard, fire shoots out through the trap door.

"Oops," Mugman replies and slips his hand back in. "Well, on the bright side, now we can keep talking." and turns to the prisoner.

However, he screams, "AAAAAAAAAAH!"

Then Mugman begins talking, "So, there was this one time, I found a shoe on the side of the road and I decided to pick it up."

A short distance away in a control room of some kind, the Devil and Henchman watches Mugman talking to one of the prisoners.

The Devil narrows his eyes and bitterly says, "If that's Mug's brother and his little friend thinking they can steal my pitchfork, they've got another thing coming.

Then Henchman speaks up, "Uh, but boss, you can't just kidnap people and bring 'em down here. It's uh, against the rules."

"RULES"!" The Devil shouts in rage, and glares at Henchman, "I don't care about rules! They stole my pitchfork!"

Then says, "Half of my powers are tied up in that thing. I can't zap stuff, I can't shoot fire, I can't even teleport!"

"Uh, well, at least you can still transform," Henchman says.

But the Devil screams in rage, "That's not as much fun as using fire!"

And continues, "It was my whole style. I was so expressive when I had my pitchfork. Now, I don't even know what to do with my hands." and moves his hands around a bit.

Then says, "I..." And grunts confusedly.

And then sighs hopelessly.

Then Henchman says, "Uh, you still got that big spook that came with it."

Henchman holds the giant spoon and there is a box behind it.

However, the Devil says, upselty, "Could you put that thing away before someone sees it? It's embarrassing."

The Devil approaches the window to see Mugman still talking to the prisoner, "It's time to even the score with that girl and that cup. First, I'll crush that cup's beloved brother's spirit."

And notices Muguman is singing as he swings from side to side.

He glares at him and says, "Look at that blue-nosed buffoon."

Then evilly grins, "This will be so easy."

"Uh, I don't know, boss," Henchman says, "I wouldn't underestimate Mugman."

The Devil rolls his eyes, "Oh, please."

Then evilly grins, "I bet I can break his spirit before the clock strikes 12." and turns his eyes towards the clock.

"I'll take that bet," Henchman says.

The Devil turns to Henchman, "What? I wasn't suggesting..."

However, the Devil thinks for a second and says, "Hmm." and says, "Alright, Henchman, what's on the line?"

"An all-expense paid trip to the destination of my choice," Henchman says eagerly and shows a big smile.

"Deal," The Devil replies.

Then the two shake hands on their little bet.

Then Henchman says, "And no cheatin'."

That has the Devil surprised, "Uh. Why, Henchman, you cut me to the quick."
