The Crystal Reverie
Fingers crawl like vines around me
circling the world I know.
Hands like mountains,
tumbling around
onto the ground below.
My wrist,
it stands among the grains
of sand, dust, and crystals or salt
The salt it burns my eyes.
Bubbling up tears
The waves they never show
Knuckles cracking all the same
The world.
The world they do not know
Straight to arms and disheveled feet
I am knocking on the ground
a home, it stands
upon crumpled dirt
where no one makes a sound.
Hands intertwine, wondering why
it takes everything or nothing
to travel here.
Ruins of salt, pillars of sand
The Crystal Reverie.
