"Hey Peridot!" I groan, and turn around to see the gem halfling 'Steven' is standing behind me.

"Can't you clods see that I'm busy?" Busy panicking, that is.

You see, I just recently called Yellow Diamond a clod.

"Yeah, but we have a surprise for you!"

"A surprise? "

"Yeah, a surprise! You know, when you close your eyes, and then when you open them everybody shouts, 'surprise!' And something cool happens?" The halfling has a peculiar way of relaying information on the planet Earth, but I must accept his invitation. The Pearl has attempted to teach me 'manners'.

"Ugh, fine you clod. But make it quick!" The Steven grabs my limb and precedes to where the others are located.

"Hello, Peridot. " The fusion, Garnet, says.

"Okay, now what's this 'surprise'?" I question.

"Welcome to the Crystal Gems!" The Steven announces.

"What?"

"Well," The Pearl begins. "You've been here long enough, and due to recent... events, we decided to give you a proper initiation. "

"Hm. This intrigues me. What kind of initiation?" I ask.

"It's kinda like a promotion." Garnet explains.

My curiosity has been peaked to optimum capacity. "Please explain the proper rituals." Pearl nods, applauding my manners.

"Well," Amethyst begins. "First, spin around three times while yelling, I'm a fish.' Then-"

"Amethyst!" The Steven yells.

"What's a fish?" Amethyst morphs into a flopping mass.

"No, you don't have to do that!" The Steven says. I turn to Garnet.

"All you really need to do is change your outfit to something with a Star on it."

"How can I do that?"

"You can do it in your gem." Pearl explains.

"How do I get there?"

"Well," Amethyst says, morphing back. "It's kinda hard to explain. It'd be easier to just poof you." She summons her whip, wrapping it around me.

"Gaaaah!" Garnet grabs my shoulders.

"Peridot, you must listen to me. Pearl has her spear. When I give the signal, she'll stab through you. Once you're in your gem, you have to focus on healing, but also on changing your outfit. It cam be anything you want." My vision spheres widen.

"Anything?"

My gem levitates, and I appear, my outfit having changed.

My 'dorito shaped' hair, as the Steven puts it, is now shaped like a Star. I wear 'body armor' with stars on it.

I am a Crystal Clod.
