Memories

Dedicated to @Puppetmaster1313

"I can't  believe all of Amethyst's junk is in my room!" I sighed, throwing a small pile across the room. I stepped on a smaller pile, and heard a crack.

"Huh?" I knelt down, and found a framed photo. A photo of a fusion.

"Oh, Moonstone," I removed my visor and wiped away a tear from my third eye. Moonstone and I had gotten into a horrible fight a few years before.

"Garnet, you have no idea what I feel!" I should have warned her.

The thunder crashed outside the temple. From the corner I heard a small voice.

"Garnet?" I turned over to see Moonstone. She was only a few hundred years old, a child compared to me. "Can I spend the night with you?" I motioned her over, and we spent the night laughing.

I smiled, placing it to the side.

"What other treasures do you hold?" I asked with a mischievous grin. I lifted up a long thing silver feather. "Hello there."

"Garnet, I'm so happy to go on the mission alone with you!" Moonstone exclaimed, her eyes bright.

"Don't get too excited now," I cautioned in a joking manner. There were many cracks in the mountain side that were blocked off by boulders.

"Garnet, do you hear that?" Moonstone asked. She knelt down beside a crack near the ground. "It's an owl!" She whispered in astonishment. I watched in wonder as she reached in a coaxed out the small Bird.

"Well then, what's your name?" I asked, patting the birds head.

"Greyfeather." Moonstone replied, and we continued down the trail.

"Oh Moonstone, where did that heart go?" I sighed, and put Greyfeather's feather beside the picture.

And another treasure, a note from Moonstone.

"Meet me in the usual spot. Signed, Moonstone. " I leaned back and closed my eyes as a third flashback came to life around me.

"Moonstone? You wanted to see me?" Moonstone turned around.

"Hey Garnet!" She jumped up to reach the lowest branch of the tree, and I climbed up behind her. "Beach city is beautiful at this time of year," she commented.

"Yeah, it really is. So what did you want to tell me? " I asked,  taking my mind off the view.

"Oh, right! " Moonstone said, causing me to giggle. "Well, it's about Sunstone. I really care about her,"

"Really? I hadn't noticed." I joked. I knew what would come next, and while I supported her fully, part of me dreaded it.

"Anyhow, I want to ask her to be my soulmate. The humans have an interesting ceremony called marriage, and I think that would be-" I cut her off with a hug.

"Do it. Do it and be happy. For me." I kissed her forehead and gave her a glimpse of her life with Sun stone. "Thank you Garnet, I knew I could trust you."

I sighed, I knew these flashback would be the last time I saw Moonstone in a while.

"I miss you, you know," I turned around to see Moonstone, standing in my room.

"That's enough flashbacks for today," I said, putting down the note.

Moonstone disappeared.

"Okay, maybe one more." I picked up the picture, the feather, and the note. I knew this memory very well. I walked across the room, and hugged Moonstone.
