🎃THE MONTH OF MENTAL HEALTH🎃


Throughout October, this month seeks to raise awareness of mental health issues and stamp out the stigma surrounding our well-being. Mental Health Month aims to educate the public on illnesses such as depression and anxiety, and proposes the means to achieve better health and wellness. It strives to diminish misconceptions surrounding mental illness and hopes to encourage communities to talk about mental health in a positive manner. 

Our emotional, psychological and social well-being is at the core of our path through life. When we are struggling, our perception of the world changes and our motivations blur. It can feel like there is a weight pressing down on us with no way to overcome it. We want to ask for help, but our words are marred by fear and so we often allow silence to lead the way. There is no 'quick fix' for mental health. It is not something which one can snap out of. It takes time to heal and learn that it is okay not to be okay. 

It is important to remember that labels don't define you. You can be who you want to be and there is light beyond all the pain and sadness. It may feel like there is no relief, that the world is closing in, but you are NOT alone. There is someone out there that is willing to listen. You are stronger than you think. Every day is a battle but it is war you CAN win. 

You are not worthless. You are not a failure. You are important. You do not need to go through this alone. It gets better. We promise.
