It was dramatic, sufficiently so for the situation.

Arundati Shah sat on the floor, watching TV. She dipped the fries in ketchup, licking the ketchup off her fingers. Her friend, practically her sister, Mini, had fallen asleep on the couch.

Her parents, Suyodhana and Krithika Shah, were more than delighted to adopt Mini after her parents had passed away due to a carbon monoxide leak. Luckily, Mini had been with her so she hadn't suffered. Although, ever since then Mini had an obsession with all kinds of diseases and medicine, although she was only seven.

There was another clap of thunder, waking Mini up. She rubbed her eyes. "Aru? Who's that?"

"What do you mean?" She asked absently, picking up another french fry.

"At the door. Do we call Kara? Auntie said not to answer the door."

With a jolt, she realised there wasn't thunder.

No. They were knocks.
