Fenestra's POV:

I slammed the door on purpose.
Morrigan sat upright sharply on her bed. She was sleeping since I got her down from my back to her bed.
"Good morning Fen." she murmured and ran her hand trought her hair.
"Morning!" I grumbled, throwing ironed clothes on the chair.
"What are you talking ab..." she looked at the alarm clock.
"For goodness sake, Fenestra!" she jumped out from the bed, swearing. "In the all four states of Wintersea! Couldn't you wake me up earlier?!"
"Calm down, it's just ten o'clock!" I muttered, but that black-eyed beastie didn't even leave me to end a sentence. "In the Wunsoc we start at six on the morning, you shaggy beast!" In the thoughts about school she remembered.
"And Jack?"
I gave her a significant look. "Thought, you won't ask about him. He is sleeping. And you should too. You both aren't going to school today. Meeting with Elders in the afternoon. Don't ask for details, I'm not your sectretary."
Morrigan moaned.
"Feeeeeeneeessstrraaaa! As for him, nothing is done. Act ran away. Capito? Hope, you aren't going to wake him up yet. He didn't sleep from the Thursday night. I'll change my clothes. Please, say Marta to prepare five toasts with butter and leave it in the kitchen. And two glasses of milk," she said, sending me from the room.
On the coridoor I perished: "So two toasts with honey for you and three burnt for Jack. And poisoned milk..."
"Don't-you-dare, Fen! If something wrong will be with that breakfast - anything - I will put it down from your payout!" she threatened and slammed door behind me.
"You would agree week ago." I murmured. From indoors I heard the angry voice: "I heard it!"

Morrigan's POV:

A ten minutes after the incident with Fen I walked downstairs to the looby, in white shirt, black jeans, tie and boots. My hair were braided into the thick four-string braid, what was failing down my back, almost to my waist. I felt like Cadence in the best sense of word!
"Hello Kedgeree!" I called to the concierge desk. He nodded to me shortly.
"In the kitchen on the table you have the breakfast, Miss Morrigan." spoke Martha, who suddenly came with the tea tray from the kitchen door.
I nodded. "Thaks, Martha. You're the best." I went to the kitchen and controlled the toasts, just to be sure. When I was convinced nothing was with it, I grabbed the serve and caught up with Martha. Together, we went to the elevator.
"Fourth?" asked maid.
"Erm... No. Second." I said and Marta pushed the button.
"I should leave him sleep yet and I will go to the office." I explained, when I got off on the second floor. I made my way to the third door. It opened to the small, familiar office. Putting away the coaster, I looked at the clocks on the mantelpiece. Ten minutes, after half past ten. I went to the shelf, put out some books and placed it to the tray, next to the toasts. Then I watched the papers on the table. Band bill, letter for Jack, letter for me, both from Gobleian. And... invitation. I opened it.

Dear Captain Korrapati, dear Captain Crow.
On behalf of the hotel Laurent we would like to invite you in the Saturday, third week of Autumn, this year, and this Age to the evening within the ANH.
The party will be in the second dancing room at the seven p.m. of that day.
We are looking forward to your participation.

With greetings
Silverlon Devereaux
The director of hotel Laurent

Devereaux. He was at some Frank's parties. Noelle's uncle. Noelle will be there too. Definitely. I took a deep breath, and low sight.
I will just live trough... Somehow. Right?
I left the invintation on the table, signed the bills and the positive answer for Devereaux. I put it to the envelope, but didn't stick it. Partly because of my sureless, and partly because of nostalgy. In all my life, I never sticked an envelope.
I looked at the clock again. Almost eleven. Jack has to eat. I understand, that he didn't sleep much, but someone has to wake him up. I grabbed the serve and left the office.

A minute later I pushed down the door-handle on Jack's door and went inside. He was sleeping in his clothes from yesterday, laying on the back. Eyepatch was on the bed-table. I put the tray next to it, brushed a strand of his black hair from his face and sat to the end of his bed. I grabbed one of the books and started to read. I didn't want to wake him up so suddenly, especially, when he could see me with both his eyes.

Jack's POV:

When I woke up, the sun was shining from the window already, but the most of the light was coming from the edge of my bed. I rubbed my eyes.
"In the all of Graysmark schoolars, Fenestra, what..." just after a some moments I focused to the person in front of me.
Morrigan smiled warmly. "Good morning."
"Morning...?" I murmured with narowed eyes. She leaned to my bed-table and handed me an eyepatch. I put it on and it was really better after.
"Thanks." I ran one hand trought my hair and glanced at the alarm.
"Shouldn't you be in the school?" then I wrinkled my nose.
"And... So should I."
"I think, that we made ourselfs a holliday," she sighed and slammed the book in her hands. I sat legs-crossed and she put a tray between us. I smiled, took a one toast and tore off a piece.
"So, what's the plan?"
"In the morning nothing, but in the afternoon we have some urgent meeting with Elders. By the way, I signed the agree of our participation on the party within the ANH in the hotel Laurent, in the Silver District. Devereaux's." she said and at the familiar name I raised my head.
"Devereaux? From the Silver District? Wasn't Noelle..?"
Morrigan nodded and pressed her lips together. After a pause she spoke:
"Hotelier is her uncle, you know? On the tables and periods they are under us, but within the good relationships... Actually, I wondered, if we could... Indeed, if I... could try to put out with Noelle." she said quietly and I was silent. To think about forgiveness and friendship for Noelle Devereaux must be for her a lot of energy and self-renunciation to pay. I bit a piece of toast, to get the time to think about the answer.
"And... What about me to try it?" I suggested. Morrigan raised one eyebrow.
"Do you know, how it sounded like?" she pointed with a grin. My mind formed the answer earlier, than I could bit my tongue.
"Yeah, I know, how it sounded like, and I think, that I can score in her, is much, much more likely than, that you are able to make a friendship with her!"
Morrigan opened her mouth and her eyes flashed. I assumed some sharp comment about my looks, but then something on her eyes changed. She slowly got up from my bed, took a deep breath and shook her head. She turned on the heel and rubbed her right eye, walking. She went from the door and slammed them hardly. I groaned and buried my face to the pillows. This reaction I really didn't want. I would rather be offended.

Morrigan:

Hawthorne, please, send Cadence to me. I need a talk.

-Morrigan

I scribbled at the scrap of paper. The letters were blurred because of tears in my eyes, and on the paper too, but I hoped, that he will read it somehow. I ran downstairs to the foyer.
"Kedge, please, send this to Hawthorne."
Kedgeree nodded, saying nothing. He looked worried, but I didn't have an energy to explain. I took the elevator to my floor and in my room I laid to the bed. My thoughts wondered. It was clear to me, why I reacted this way. Because Jack was right. I've always had a problem with quick making friends, and... Well, he really is something.
Someone knocked at the black door. I slowly got up from the bed and walked across the room. I opened to see Cadence's worried face. Without any word she put her arm around my shoulders, but her eyes were asking:
'C'mon. What happened?'
I told her, what Jack did. About yesterday eve in library and about today morning, even about that, what he said me. When I got everything out of me, I fell silent and hugged my knees. Cadence stroked my back.
"You know that... he was right. But I don't know, how to help you. I don't miss him, when he is away, I don't need him near, but in the other hand, I don't have a problem, when he is here. You and Jack, you are... friends. Me and Jack, we almost don't know each other. I'm not the person, he cares about, and I don't mind. It's none of my business, who he is, and I don't know, what kind of girl he wants. But..."
"Noelle is one of 'em. Obviously." I sighed.
"You know... Erm... How do you feel, when you imagine them as a couple?"
There was an easy anwer for this.
"Anger. And... treason."
"And do you know exactly from what?"
I rubbed my eyes and laid on my back.
"Can, I know, what you are heading to. We were already talking about this. I couldn't stand him to be with her... because... Well... Because it's Noelle. If he would date with you, or with Lam... I wouldn't mind. He practically warned me about Tom and this is the same."
Cadence laid on the bed next to me and sighed heavily:
"I wish you a good luck then."
