Chapter 3: The Good Fortune and the Bad Fortune

Hello my beautiful readers, Clippy checking in :)! Okay, so overview, Scarlet Bug and Monsieur Noir met, and we can already see that Emma is not a very good miraculous holder. I mean, it's the first day, so maybe she'll change?

Also, Hugo's image is at the top- But I am going to replace that image later since I don't like how stiff he looks-

Though, he is a pretty stiff person .__.

Also, here is M. Noir if you're interested in how he looks like .___.

Here he is, in all his glory .__. But, anyway, we'll get more into depth about what happens in the fight starring SB and MN! But, you'll have to read and find out about that :3. So, without further ado, let's jump right into it.

Enjoy!

Monsieur Noir thrust his sword from the holder, someone then immediately pressing him against the wall. "Scarlet!" he groaned, "a little help!?" Monsieur Noir was able to push off the threat himself and then glancing towards the Ladybug holder.

"Sorry, sorry, I didn't hear you," she mumbled, "but I got down eight of them - you?" He rubbed his temples, "This isn't a game," he crossed his arms, "unless you think keeping this kingdom from burning down is one?"

"Okay," he breathed, "I'll see you on the top!" "This isn't a game," she mocked, flapping her hands up and down, "gah, that guy really gets on my nerves." She wound up her yo-yo, looping it around one of the peeks of the towers.

She smiled once more, running up the vertical tower, catching up with her partner. She got into a fighting stance, meeting the back of Monsieur Noir. He thrust out his sword, his glowing emerald eyes piercing through his dark leather mask.

"You get the guy on the left!-" -he glanced around- "I got these two." Scarlet Bug winded up her yo-yo, grabbing the guy as Monsieur Noir ran up to the other ones. She laughed, "Too easy," she mumbled, walking up to tease him.

"Hello!~" -she leaned into his face- "how's it like being tied up?" The guy unravelled from the string, kicking down the superheroine. "Focus-" her partner's voice echoed, "-we both don't need you fooling around!"

Monsieur Noir kicked away the last guy, pulling on his sword's handle to grab his baton. "Grab on!" he yelled, Scarlet Bug thrusting her grip onto the pole as it extended out forward. Her hair flapped in the breeze, her sucking in a breath before dropped her down onto the ground.

"Hey!" -he ignored her screaming- "I was doing fine on my own!" He kicked down the door, Scarlet Bug gasping as he ran in without her. "That stupid idiot..." she muttered under her breath, dashing through the door frame, using her yo-yo to thrust her up the stairs.

"Scar!" -he yelled- "grab his fist!" she ran up and grabbed it. "Crap!" -she screamed- "Mr. N I-" "Just do it!" he interrupted angrily.

He managed to punch the destruction holder away, leaping out of the window. "What was so important," he grumbled, "that you couldn't grab the object!"

"What do you mean object!?" she shot back. "There is always an object where the source of their power is hiding. You must destroy the object so the akuma can fly out-"

"Akuma!?" she yelled, even though he was right in front of her.

"Yes, an akuma," he sighed disapprovingly, "they are black butterflies sent by the owner of the purple crowned jewel, also known as a miraculous. They take any negative emotions and feed off the energy of this."

"Depending on the amount of sadness someone would have, it would change them based on that. If you have less sadness, it will change your form entirely. More, then you would basically stay the same, and your powers would be stronger."

Scarlet Bug kept quiet throughout the explanation. "Did your kwami not explain?" "How did yours!" -she scoffed- "I thought you were early to the fight, didn't you get your miraculous today?" She scoffed, "'Cause I did."

"Well, they didn't explain it at first, but I had to de-transform after using my signature move, and may I note that you were crying over your broken nail during this time."

"Hey!" she squealed, "it really hurt." "You must learn that the price of being a superhero, you have to have a good reputation. The red lady screaming and crying over her nail isn't a good example in the slightest."

"Can you stop going all parent-y on me!-" she yelled back, "I get it, okay!" "Good," he replied stiffly. She rolled her eyes behind his back. "Are all men like this," she muttered under her breath.

"Also, how are we going to fix all this damage?" He groaned, "Again, your power is creation. You are going to fix the damage with your miraculous at the end of the fight." He lept out the window before she could ask another question.

She looked at her yo-yo, sucked in a breath, and followed her partner out the window. "Okay, Emma, you got this," she mumbled to herself, "Who cares what that guy says - you're the princess here."

He lept off of the akuma victim's head, thrusting out his sword from the metal holder. Scarlet Bug froze, watching the two fight. "Augh!" he yelled, ripping open the victim's fist, ripping out a crumpled piece of paper.

"Catch!" he yelled, interrupting her staring. She grabbed the paper, barely, and ripped it. She froze slightly, the black butterfly flying out. She gasped slightly, Monsieur Noir leaping in front of her, panting.

"I hoped you enjoyed your little show of me fighting myself," he grumbled, her sticking out her tongue. "You did it anyway!" She grabbed her yo-yo, opening up and trying to place the butterfly inside.

"What are you-" "Hold up!" she placed it inside, closing the yo-yo as she counted to three under her breath. She opened it, the white butterfly flying out as Monsieur Noir groaned. "You could have caught it another way, instead of shoving the butterfly into your purifier."

"Oh, it's fine," she giggled, "no harm done anyway." His brows furrowed, him glancing at her yo-yo. "Call your Lucky Charm, and it will revive the damage." "Really?" -she cleared her throat- "I mean, Lucky Charm!" her yo-yo spun in the air, red magic flowing through the breeze.

"A nail file-" She asked, him groaning. "Just say your name with 'miraculous' in front of it." "Miraculous... Scarlet Bug!"

The red ladybugs flooded through the sky, buildings, and homes, the magic washing over both the superheroines. Monsieur Noir slightly smiled, the cuts on his face disappearing, Scarlet Bug staring in awe.

"Wow," she breathed, "That is incredible. "We did it!" she squealed, Monsieur Noir chuckling. "Emma and Mr. Noir, the dream team!" she smiled widely.

"I mean, Scarlet Bug, sorry," she muttered, his brows furrowing. His eyes then widened the blonde hair, her ocean eyes, the shade identical to a certain little girl who grew up in the palace.

It was his little sister, Emma.

Hugo straightened his cravat, walking into the grand hall. Emma was practically bouncing, and Hugo silently had guessed why. "Did you guys see those two people who saved the kingdom?"

"Formal much, Father," Hugo chuckled, Adrien then laughing slightly. "Very," he joked before pausing, "But, they even repaired all of the damage caused? And where did that monster come from anyway?"

"Maybe they'll explain everything," "But we'll have to wait for that!" Louis interjected. "I suppose so," Hugo replied awkwardly. "Also, Hugo, we need to talk with you."

His siblings left, Hugo silently giving a prayer in his mind. "Do you need me for something?" he asked after a long period of silence. "Well, no, it's not technically that," -Marinette fumbled  nervously- "Though we do need to tell you something."

He raised an eyebrow, "That is?" "We sent out ballots for your selection."

He froze, rubbing his temples, "Behind my back?" "Yes, because we knew you were never going to say yes." "You know me so well," he muttered through gritted teeth, "but you still did it none-the-less."

"Hugo, we can still call of The Selection any time, but you can't hate it until you try it," Adrien sighed, "now, please, we can't do anything now."

Hugo looked at his parents in disbelief, then storming out of the room.

He swore under his breath, subconsciously rubbing his miraculous. "HUGO!" Angela's squeal made him freeze as she hugged him from behind. "Miss. Cunningham," he sighed, "Is something the matter?"

"No, I just wanted to catch your attention," -she paused- "You looked a tad upset." "My parents started a selection behind my back," he groaned, her eyes widening.

"REALLY!?" -she cleared her throat- "I mean, what?" He chuckled slightly, "Yes, really," -he rubbed the back of his neck- "But, you could join if you really wanted to."

She glanced at him, "I mean, that way you could experience palace life and stuff," Hugo only went informal when he was trying to cover up something. "Haha, of course, I know that," -she smiled widely- "But I'll have to ask Jonathan first."

"That's fair," he paused, "just make sure you make your decision by the end of the week." "Yup~!" she chimed. His cheeks had turned pale red, him mentally slapping himself until his face went back to normal.

"I hope to meet your acquaintance soon, Miss. Cunningham," he tossed her a quick smile, both of them walking opposite directions.

She ran back into her room, Jonathan sitting at the table. "Hey," he commented mindlessly. "Guess what!" -she exclaimed- "The Selection is available!"

"What!?" his temper rose, "If you want the prince so bad, then just go now!" She froze slightly, "N-No, it's not like that," she giggled nervously, "just for the experience of living in the palace, you know?"

"I do not," he responded as she looked down at her feet. "W-Well, I think it would be cool," she mumbled, "So why can't I?" "Because," -he sighed- "It's you fighting against other women to be the wife of the prince. And, you also can't join if you have a boyfriend."

"Oh, yeah," -she laughed nervously- "I forgot about that." "Of course you did," -he chuckled- "I wouldn't expect anything else from the clumsiest maid in the palace."

She looked down at her shoes. "Chill, I'm joking, Angela," he chuckled. "I-" -her breath hitched- "It's was not very funny." "Hmmm, really owning up to that sensitive title, are we?" he laughed, slapping the newspaper on the edge of the table and standing up.

"Stop it!" she squealed, "you're actually being mean this time!" "You're the one who wanted to join The Selection when you had me as a boyfriend." "And girls like you don't usually get guys like me."

She froze, "What does that mean?" "It means I'm out of your league, Angela. So..." he shrugged, chuckling as she stared down at her shoes. "Very interested in your shoes, are you?" "You're making me uncomfortable, so I'm looking down."

"Really now," -he scoffed- "So, is it a bad time to bring up your problem?" "Don't! You know that-" "Angela has an alcohol problem," he teased loudly.

She cried slightly, him crossing his arms. "Angela, it's a joke."

"IT ISN'T FUNNY!" she cried, "SO, WHY DON'T YOU GET A GIRL WHO FINDS THEM FUNNY?" She turned around, his temper rising. "EXCUSE ME!?" -he laughed- "WOW, CONFIDENT I SEE!"

"Don't test me, Angela," he threatened, pinning her to the wall. "Stop it!" she pushed him off, him grabbing her hair. "DON'T-" he yelled.

"DON'T MAKE ME HIT YOU, ANGELA." He yelled, her gasping, his brows furrowing.

"'Cause I will. So I recommend you stop being so damn selfish and sensitive!" Angela flinched slightly, grabbing the door handle, thrusting it open. She ignored his calls, running down the hall, rubbing her eyes.

She bumped into someone, still rubbing her eyes. "I-I'm sorry-"

"Angela?" the prince's voice echoed, her eyes widening, "are you okay?" "...Hugo...?" she stammered nervously. "Are you okay?" sincerity was laced into his tone.

"Y-Yes, I'm not okay." -she mentally slapped herself- "I-I mean I am okay, I'm sorry," she muttered. "You do not look like yourself, though." The prince's expression got washed over with concern, Angela shivering slightly.

"Just..." she muttered, hugging him. He turned somewhat red, hugging her back tightly before she backed up quickly. "I-I'm sorry," she muttered, running off once more, ignoring the prince's calls.

"Plagg," -he breathed- "I know that her stupid boyfriend must have done something."

Hugo knows, Hugo knows all +___+

Welp, anyway, you just got a glimpse of Angela's and Jonathan's relationship. Yes, he is her boyfriend, and I can hear you all screaming at me already for pairing them up together. But, I totally made up for it because Hugo acted very sincere at the end UwU

Okay, that doesn't make up for it...but it's fine! Though, we have to see if Hugo will do anything next chapter! And also, Scarlet Bug is not very good at her job, and HUGO FOUND HER OUT! Well, not a surprise, Hugo is very intelligent.

Also, yes, Emma isn't a good example of girl superheroes... But I'll make up for it! Just wait and see :3

But, as always, if you want the answers, stay tuned! Have a great day/night :)
