Extra 3 | An Old Friendship

Alright, here's a quick explanation on what actually happened what Impulse, Tango, and Etho and their falling-out. There's a lot of events that contributed to it, so I'll cover 'em all here:

» You guys already know that the three used to be good friends! Their falling-out was about three years ago from when Crossroads took place, but they've been friends for about 7 or 8 years.

» Impulse and Tango spent a lot of time together since Impulse was Tango's advisor. But, when things started to grow tense between them, Impulse started to spend more time with Etho. Tango grew busy with duties in the Keep. Impulse was supposed to help him, but as they started to argue more he started avoiding Tango.

» One of the main events that contributed to the group finally breaking apart was, of course, the Ravagers. Impulse knew that Tango was the one who let them loose, and he couldn't forgive the king for doing that. As more and more problems started to pop up, Impulse realized it was like a domino chain of events that had started with Tango's recklessness of losing control of a dozen Ravagers.

» What really did it, though, was Impulse's supposed disappearance when he was exploring the new Forest. When Impulse--or anyone else that had accompanied him--didn't return from the excursion, Tango was left alone in the castle. Etho was originally there for him, but when he realized that this wouldn't have happened without the Ravagers being loose, he blamed Tango for it all.

» Etho didn't know that Tango was the one to actually let the Ravagers loose. But he blamed Tango because he thought that Tango could have done more to prevent all of this from happening.

» So, what else contributed to this falling-out? Like I said before, Impulse blamed Tango for most, if not all, of the events that followed the Ravagers getting loose. That led to a lot of arguments, which Etho did his best to avoid. But, since they were arguing so frequently, Etho started to avoid the castle completely.

» Between all the stress of fixing problems that just kept popping up and arguments with the others, Impulse, Etho, and Tango stopped talking to each other as frequently before stopping altogether.

» Flash forward a bit and you've got present-day Crossroads! As you saw from the epilogue, Tango and Impulse are slowly making up over time, but it's going to take a while--something I'll probably touch on a lot in the sequel!

I know this is a shorter chapter than what y'all are probably used to coming from me, but I don't want this to drag on for too long haha--I also didn't want to avoid it completely because it's a huge aspect of the story that was really important to the plot :]

Thanks for reading!
