Toward the new beginning (7/8)

Meanwhile, the girl calmed down and started to show the other how to wash one's body. It was fun, just when Crestia finished it, the sponge was torn into pieces. The demoness especially enjoyed her back getting nice brushing. She fully noted to take a bath at least once per year. When the washing was finished, she felt relieved, clean and full of energy, so she jumped out.

"Don't--" before the pink girl could start the sentence, the other stepped on the previously thrown soap. The body was with a big swing lifted into the air and the soap was flung across the room. The next second was really long before the demoness hit the wet floor with a loud thud. "Sis!!" screamed Amy.

"Ouch," gasped the demoness. She had fallen many times, but this one was unexpected.

"Are you alright?" the girl quickly got from the tub.

A loud bang was heard. "Is everything alright?" It was Gold, the only person not needing to knock, but doing it anyway.

"Sis slipped on the soap!" called back the girl, helping the shocked female demon to sit up.

Only after this answer, the tenrec entered seeing a local flood.

"I'm fine," she shook her head a bit. "Who would think such sweet, smelly thingy could be so slick," she rubbed the throbbing top of the head getting on her legs.

"Yeah, soaps are a bit slippery," the woman giggled a bit. "It's more important you are alright."

"Let's clean this place a bit, so no more accidents happen," suggested Amy. The tenrec left, heading to her room since she just a second ago returned from a quick shopping since Amy needed a new dress. In the second floor, she glanced psychic's door was opened so she peeked inside, seeing him lying on the bed with the burrowed face.

"Silver, do you want something for the breakfast?" Technically it was almost a time for lunch, but whatever.

"That little hellcat's head will do," he mumbled into the cushion.

The corner of her mouth twitched. He must have "experienced" the bathroom was occupied. "So the usual sandwich," she said, putting the new child clothes into her room and heading down to start the preparations. As she was on the stairs she saw the door to Shadow's room open and two hedgehogs headed out. They wished each other good morning... afternoon.

The priest volunteered to help her in the kitchen and Sonic dashed to the toilet and then waited for Amy to leave the bathroom since the medium warmed him beforehand. One bulge on his forehead was enough. Then the next half hour was relatively calm as the preparations were underway. Each person was introduced to the pet-demons Eclipse brought with himself, while the small demon was taking the bath.

Assisting him was Gold, to make sure there won't be another flood. Unlike his sister, he was calmer and cooperated. She was especially careful with his wings and she used that time to study them a bit. She tried to relax him by telling him a lot of small stuff about the human life and society. He reacted to it by asking questions which made her happy.

Once he was cleaned, the tenrec took a quick shower and then it was Silver's turn to use it... finally. He was needing that cold splash on his face. Once he was refreshed, he headed to the living room, being the last one to arrive. He didn't bat his eye upon seeing the four small creatures. That made his partner interested, she was sure he will have one or two sarcastic notes.

"Man, I'm hungry!" said Sonic and helped himself to one of the sandwiches. The others didn't need to be reminded they were eager to eat and everyone picked what they liked. The psychic, for the start, was only taking small sips of his tea, watching the strange scene. In front of him was Gold, that was normal, but the rest of the company not.

On the footrest next to her was sitting Eclipse with the small ones being on armrests of the armchair and sofa. Next to him was Amy, teaching him how to properly drink the tea and wearing the new dress she got from his tenrec partner. The demoness was following, looking a bit suspicious like how one can stretch the pinky that way.

At the end of the sofa was Shadow with Sonic, both quietly eating and enjoying the food. The exorcist shrugged shoulders in his mind, taking one sandwich too. The taste of the simple meal lifted his mood but didn't change his decision. He would love to send Amy away, but she was having supernatural abilities so he had no choice but to bring her to The Order as well.

When it looked like they can have one peaceful day, someone barged into the room. "Knock, knock, it's Knuckles!!" strongly but jolly shouted a red echidna man. He was wearing a similar uniform like Silver and behind him were crocodile and armadillo in the similar attire.

Gold jumped at her feet, shouting: "Captain Knuckles?" How did he get inside? How did he... anything?! The rest of the people were agitated as well, on their feet looking shocked and uncertain. The situation was bad...

Shadow's ears twitched as he started to perceive a rising sound. "What is this...?" It rapidly turned high-pitched and he had no choice but to cover his ears. Eclipse did his best to hide his hatchlings with wings, hugging them with arms. His sis, on the other hand, covered his ears, tugging her head between shoulders and gritting teeth. But any mean of defense was insignificant.

Soon all their eyes turned toward Amy... that was screeching so much and for so long her face turned purple. When she stopped, she was gasping for an air leaving everybody paralyzed. Once the hellcat in a form of a little sweet girl lifted head, her dead-glare stabbed the echidna. She walked towards him around the table passing shivering Gold, speaking slowly: "Finally, we could enjoy a moment of a peace, but you..." Something fell from the ceiling behind the man. She eyed it. It was a twitching chameleon with a foam coming from his mouth... and he was naked. "Who's---"

"We are sorry!" shouted the crocodile and the armadillo in unison. They grabbed the fainted man. "We'll leave the rest to you, cap!" they quickly ran away, leaving their superior behind. The poor captain could only helplessly watch how they were running to the safety.

"So, mister..." his body twitched hearing that cold but honey-coated voice, "would you like a sandwich?"

He saluted standing straight like a board. "Ma'am! Yes, ma'am!!" He quickly assumed a place on the second footrest as other seats were full.

]Gold! Gold![ shouted Silver.

]What is it?[

]Ah... I can hear my thoughts! Thanks, Lord![

Shadow's eye twitched. 'Thank you, dear Lord, for not angering her before. She wasn't kidding about her pitch.'

It took everybody a short moment to calm down and check their hearing. 'Man,' thought Crestia clearing her ear with a pinky, 'that girl would really make a fine demon.' As she finished that thought she wasn't sure if that was actually a good or bad thing. In any case, she kept amazing her. Later, Gold would find a few glasses had tiny cracks, but before that, Knuckles munched on his sandwich and slurped the tea.

Everyone was back to their seats, but the calm atmosphere was gone. "What are you doing here?" The psychic was the first one to break the silence, frowning at the echidna man.

"Well," he put the teacup back, "since I saw you the other night fuming and worn out, I have sent Espio to check on you."

"You spied?" he growled showing teeth.

"Look," he put his open palms in front of himself, showing he was wearing boxer-like gloves with holes for two bone-claws growing from the knuckles, "we have different opinions how to beat demons. I respect there is time for muscles and another for the brain. Not to mention, the only moment you are willing to accept help is when one shoves it into your throat."

Crestia smirked at the last remark. She would love to shove into his throat something more punching, but this seemed to be enough for now.

Gold had spoken in thinking manner: "So that means, you know about everything?"

He nodded.

"That chameleon was he...?" Amy silently asked, looking angry. No, her face was calm, there was no expression but the aura around her was fiery.

The echidna quickly shook his head. "That's impossible! Espio is too shy, he would end up looking like a rainbow. His camouflage technique works only when he is completely calm."

"I see," she noted and it sounded like that man escaped certain death, taking a sip of the lukewarm tea.

"That's clever," mumbled Crestia. "And the most annoying thing for demons."
