A road crosses a dark forest to connect a rural town to the rest of the kingdom. It is strange, though, this town was but a village, it had nothing to become a town. There is only one reason that this town exists now, and it is thanks to the sacrifice of mankind to the crimson fae living in the forest. The crimson fae comes four times a year. It is a dark child of moon. It is as small as a human's palm and is humanoid overall. The only thing making her different than  a miniature human is the crimson wings behind her back. Every time she comes, the town does a rite first is the rite of matrimomy. It is named as such, but as a rite dedicated to such dark being, it is a town wide orgy hidden in plain sight. The crimson fae devours their desire, so the town people are always logical the rest of the year. Those who have come here have described its people as wise sages gathered together. The second part of the rite is a little dark, not for the town but for the victim brainwashed to be chosen one. The dark fae flies to the neck as they sleep soundly in a coffin prepared, It sucks the blood from them entirely, leaving an empty husk the mayor, the former village elder, closes the coffin so none know of the fate befallen the victim, but many know and turn a blind eye. They do not do so out of malevolence, but because the crimson fae radiates a dark crimson mana to the whole town and the town wifes get pregnant and the town population sky rockets and every couple is happy. There is a secret, anyone has a chance to get pregnant whether you are a male female, and it does not matter if you had intercourse.
