LOS ANGELES
An alarm goes off at 6:00am, causing Makenzie to groan as Hobbs flutters his eyes open while he wakes up before turning off the alarm. Hobbs does ten push ups while Makenzie makes her way to the kitchen before placing some waffles in a toaster. Makenzie cracks open a dozen eggs, one at a time while placing the yolks in a glass before Hobbs enters the kitchen. Instead of making coffee, Hobbs takes a spoonful of the coffee grounds and eats it before Makenzie hands the glass of eggs to him. Makenzie takes her waffles out of the toaster before putting butter and syrup on them while Hobbs drinks the egg yolks. Hobbs grabs his gym bag as he makes his way to the garage, walking over to Makenzie before pulling her into a kiss.
"I'll be back soon, I love you," Hobbs says as Makenzie smiles up at him.
"And I love you," Makenzie says as she waves at Hobbs, who walks out into the garage before getting into his Ford Bronco then leaving. Makenzie cleans up the kitchen before walking out into the garage. Hobbs parks his vehicle before walking through the busy streets of Los Angeles to his gym. Hobbs begins aggressively working out while Makenzie pulls the cover off of her Dodge Charger, causing a smile to appear on her face. Makenzie walks over to her tool chest before popping the hood on the car, getting to work on making sure everything is working fine. Hobbs is taking a break as his phone rings.
"Where?" Hobbs asks as he receives some information about his current case, since his time off work only lasted for a year. Once Hobbs is off the phone with his informant, he calls Makenzie. "Hey, beautiful."
"What's up, handsome?" Makenzie asks as she closes the hood on her car.
"Would you like to join me tonight when I go gather some information for my case?" Hobbs answers her with a question.
"Will there be fighting?" Makenzie asks as she ponders his offer.
"More than likely," Hobbs answers her with a nod, despite her not being able to see it.
"I'm in," Makenzie says with a smile on her face before walking over to a cabinet in the garage. Hobbs tells Makenzie where to meet him while she opens the cabinet to reveal numerous guns.
That night Hobbs takes his motorcycle as he heads to a club to meet up with Makenzie. As Hobbs walks through the club goers, he grabs two shots of tequila before drinking them at the same time, throwing the glasses over his shoulders once he is done. Makenzie shakes her head with a smile on her face. Hobbs and Makenzie walk through some doors into the tattoo parlor part of the club where there is a group of thugs hanging out.
"Who the hell are you?" The leader asks as he glares at Hobbs and Makenzie, causing Makenzie to smirk.
"Ooh," Hobbs says with a slight smirk before sarcastically answering the leader. "I'm what you call an ice-cold can of whup-ass." Hobbs cracks his neck as he tries to be more intimidating while he stares the man down.
"What you got, big man?" A thug asks as he holds his arms out while walking towards Hobbs, who hits him in the throat before head butting the thug then throwing him out of the way. Makenzie grabs one of the tattoo trays as two other thugs rush towards her. Makenzie uses the tray to knock the two thugs to the ground. A fourth thug comes at Hobbs with a tattoo gun as the third thug gets back up. Hobbs dodges out of the way as he grabs the fourth thug's arm, causing the fourth thug to stab the third thug with the tattoo gun. Hobbs pulls the fourth thug's arm back, causing the fourth thug to drop the tattoo gun which lands in the fourth thug's foot. Hobbs punches the fourth thug before throwing him out of the way.
"Uh-uh," Hobbs says as he grabs a fifth thug's jacket as he tries to run away before Hobbs slings the fifth thug across the room.
"I'm gonna kill you!" The leader yells as he points at Hobbs, who starts walking towards him. "You gonna die!" Makenzie kicks the leader in the groin before punching him which sends the leader through the doors behind him and onto a tattooing chair.
"All right, all right," Hobbs says as he holds the leader down with one hand, causing the leader to grab on to Hobbs' jacket. "No, no, no, no, that's my favorite jacket, don't do that." Hobbs pulls the leader's hand off of his jacket before looking over at the female tattoo artist in the room with them. "Hi, could you pass me that gun, please?" The tattoo artist does as told before taking a step back. "Thank you very much. Nice tats." The tattoo artist smiles as Hobbs turns back to the leader, causing Makenzie to cross her arms across her chest while rolling her eyes. "All right, assclown, we're gonna play a little game. It's called hangman. I'm gonna ask you some questions. When you give me an answer I don't like..." Hobbs buzzes the tattoo gun, causing the leader to shrink back in fear before Makenzie grabs the tattoo wrap to wrap the leader to the chair. "Okay. You get the idea. I've been tracking some dark web chatter about a super-virus that's comin' up on the auction block. Why don't you tell me about it?"
"I swear, I don't-I don't know!" The leader answers him with a slight glare.
"I don't like that answer," Hobbs says with a shake of his head before he begins to tattoo on the leader's forehead. Hobbs winks at the Makenzie while he continues to tattoo the leader, who yells out. "All right, bonus round. Where's the virus?" The leader spills everything he knows while Hobbs finishes the tattoo that he started.
"What did he write?" The leader asks the tattoo artist as Hobbs wraps an arm around Makenzie as they walk away while Hobbs has a smirk on his face because he had tattooed "I heart cops" on the leader's forehead.
"Race you home?" Makenzie asks with a smirk on her face as she walks over to her car.
"I don't know how fair it would be," Hobbs says with a matching smirk as he sits on his motorcycle. "Just don't get yourself killed, trying to keep up."
"I think I should be telling you that," Makenzie says as she shakes her head before getting into her car. They pull up to a red light before waiting for it to turn green. Hobbs easily takes the lead but Makenzie stays right behind him. As they near the house, Makenzie passes Hobbs before drifting into the driveway, causing her to be hit with a wave of nausea. Makenzie smiles despite the nausea as Hobbs finally catches up to her before driving his motorcycle into the garage. Makenzie wonders what caused the nausea as she pulls her car into the garage because drifting has never made her nauseous.
