Tw: Implied suicide.

It started one night in Doc's trashcan. He woke up at about 3am to a long message from BDubs, and as he read more and more, his heart sank further and further. The undertones of the message were not the sort of thing one would ever want to see a friend say, and yet still that's how it went.

At least BDubs said at the end he'd call and talk more in the morning. So Doc went back to a worried rest. Until morning came. Doc went through his morning, constantly waiting for one more message from BDubs. But nothing. Just one unread message from Cub.

You see, the message Cub got was not unlike the one Doc got, except without the promise of further discussion. So he did the only thing he could, and asked Doc to go talk BDubs out of it. But the message remained unread.

Doc slowly grew mor and more worried as the day went on. Why hadn't BDubs said anything? Had he actually... no. He wouldn't. Would he? Doc was saved from mildly freaking out by Cub falling through the ceiling.

"You okay there?"

"Ah. Good, you're alive. You didn't respond to my message. Did BDubs talk to you?"

"Yeah. He said he'd call me back, but he hasn't, and I'm starting to panic."

"No... no he can't be..."

"What?"

"I don't think that call's coming, Doc."

Doc dropped his shulker box in shock. That meant one thing. BDubs had... BDubs had... but he would never.

Doc ran out of his Hermitville house, to find somewhere, anywhere, to get away from what had happened. Cub followed closely after, delayed only by technical difficulties. Cub eventually found Doc in the forest, shaking and out of tears. He put his arm around the creeper hybrid, small tears rolling down his face.

"I'm sorry. He was my friend too, you know."

"He can't have... he wouldn't have... why?"

"I don't know, Doc. I'm sorry, I don't know."

They heard someone land near them. X and Joe.

"Are you two alright?"

"BDubs... he..."

"Oh. Oh no."

Soon the four had formed a pile, comforting each other in this dark time. And then Grian and Mumbo showed up. They explained what had happened, and Mumbo fell to the floor, shaking. Grian tried to comfort the others, feeling a little sick inside, but ultimately, he didn't know BDubs all that well.

And now he never would.
