Meanwhile In Your Friendly Local Abyss

Feat. ausforyou

A girl with long hair perched in the nether brick rafters of the old castle. She was listening to the conversation below while also messaging a close friend.

After the topic took a darker turn, said friend suddenly assisted appeared out of a portal. With Authors, this is a normal everyday occurrence.

AC pulled Odal into a hug. She muttered something about a hug, and was shushed. Odal pointed out the demons below. Naturally, AC wanted to hug them.

After some deliberation and motel crises, Odal let AC go. But only if AC had fake blood in each pocket. AC dropped deftly down from the rafters, walking up to the demons. They turned to face her as she cheerfully greeted them.

"Alright, who let the mortal in?" Accused the blue demon, Kelgi.

"It was probably Azzy." The green demon, Garaa, accused. "He's had a bit of a soft spot for mortals since..." She went quiet, clearing her throat.

"It wasn't me!" Azin, the yellow demon, defended himself. He turned to face AC, actually addressing her for once. "What are you doing here, kid?"

"I came here with one motive! To make friends!" AC beamed, and turned to face Kelgi and Garaa. "And please don't blame Mr Azin. It wasn't his fault."

Kelgi suddenly seemed nervous. "Uh, we're good. Three's enough of us. Who needs four, am I right?" She glanced at the other two nervously.

Garaa was about to escort AC out when Azin cleared his throat.

"Wait, don't go just yet. How did you know our names?" Azin inquired, mildly confused.

"The same reason I know you guys seem really cool!" AC replied, maintaing her chipper mood.

"Look, kid." Garaa snarked, fed up. "Either you tell us how you knew Azzy's full name, you get the hell out of here, or you face-"

"Don't you dare, she's a child." Interrupted Azin, horrified.

"All mortals are children, even to-" Garaa snapped, before being cut off by harsh glares from the other two.

"Well, technically I recently learned of how children are created, but I don't think that makes me an adult yet. Next step is to learn about taxes, but I don't feel like being grumpy all the time..." AC mumbled to herself, allowing her train of thought to carry her off on the tangent for a moment.

She stopped her musings when Garaa got out her trident, and spoke. "You have the count of 10. Tell us how much you know and how you found out or else."

And with that, she began to count down in Italian. AC refused to say how she knew, and so the countdown kept ticking.

"Garaa." AC turned serious for a moment. "Do you know how it feels to betray someone. Or how it feels to be betrayed? If not, then I'm glad you don't."

The demons visibly winced at this statement, as if collectively remembering a touchy subject. Garaa refused to back down, and kept the countdown going. So, naturally, AC sat down and started making a daisy chain.

"Cuat-what the fffffffffffffffffffrick are you doing?" Garaa asked, perplexed.

"I think it's time for you to go, kid, Kelgi said, standing and motioning fur Garaa to escort AC of the premises. Garaa didn't get the message, though.

As Azin made quiet flabbergasted squeaks of protest, AC looked up at the demons.

"Aw... Can I finish this daisy chain first? Please?" She pleaded. "I have two premade ones, but I didn't get to make another. I think it brings out your eyes."

"You need to leave." Kelgi pressed.

"I second that. The question is if you leave alive or dead." Garaa agreed.

"Now, I think you're both being a bit harsh here-" Azin protested.

Just then, AC finished the daisy crown. She admitted, and chugged a speed potion. She put a flower crown on the head of each demon, hugged Azin, and ran out.

Azin called after AC, but was held back by the girls. He looked down as each took off her flower crown. He didn't get rid of his.

"You didn't take her offer of friendship seriously, did you?"

"Um... N-no? I-I don't need to be friends with a mortal. Only he would do that, and look where he ended up."

Friendly reminder that the demons exist in the main timeline too!
OdalRune, signing off from the past!

Azin looked at the package of cookies with a daisy on top. He smiled, and muttered to himself, "Damnit that kid" and took the cookies in for Gee and Kel.
