Judging Criteria

Please note judges that you will have 2 weeks to accurately judge your books. If you need a little more time after the allotted, let me know PLEASE.

You can start judging when you've received your books.

If you have any questions, PM me please.
You will send your results to my email but I will provide that via PM.
Please also provide some RESPECTFUL critiques to your authors so they can know how they're doing.

The judging criteria will proceed as follows.

Novels/Short Stories

**You are to judge up to the first 5 chapters OR however long it takes for you to get your results accurately.

Title:
-Worth 5pts
- Does the title fit the story? Or is it random? Is it catchy?

Cover:
-Worth 10pts
-Does it make sense with the title of the story?
-Does the cover catch your eye? Is it boring? Is it one of those covers that is simply a picture and no words on the front?
-Are the words legible and easy to read?
-Does the cover look a hotass mess?

Character Development/ Relationships:
-Worth 10pts
-Do the characters interact well with each other? Does it seem realistic? Forced? Natural?
-Are the characters one dimensional or do they have "umph"?
-Is there growth?

Plot:
-Worth 15pts
-Is there a plot? Is it clear? Is it at least shown in the description of the book if the plot is not immediately spotted within the first 5 chapters?
-Were you able to see the plot and understand what was going on/meant to be going on?

Grammar/ Spelling Errors:
-Worth 15pts
-Is there an abundance of grammatical errors and or spelling errors?
I don't mean counting off for a couple spelling or grammatical errors either.
If it is a pattern THEN count off. Not everyone's grammar/spelling is going to be perfect.
-Got run on sentences? COUNT THEM JUNTS.
-Multiple missing periods, commas, other sentence endings? COUNT THEM JUNTS.
-Multiple misspellings of basic words or just words in general? COUNT THEM JUNTS.
-Wrong use of homophones (words that are said the same but spelled different)? COUNT THEM JUNTS.
-Incorrect usage of verbs and or nouns? COUNT THEM JUNTS.
Etc, you get it.

Flow/ Diction:
-Worth 10pts
-Is it detailed? Is there any descriptive language?
- Does the story flow (read) well? How about the language used? Does it use good vocabulary? Is it "basic" sounding or sound like an elementary assignment?

Enjoyability:
-Worth 15pts
- This is self explanatory. Do you like it or not?

Creativity/Originality:
-Worth 10pts
-This is also self explanatory. Is it cliché? Does the story sound like something you've never read before?
-Is it detailed?
-Does it make sense?
-Is it just another badboy millionaire vampire who falls for the shy nerd girl that is actually a rich cheerleader in disguise that has a secret obsession with BTS and producing heirs for the werewolf prince that is somehow magically pregnant?
Lol, you get the point.

Tone:
-Worth 10pts
-Is the story boring or dry? Does it give you life in your normally dead world?
-Do you/can you connect with the story or the MC/s?
-Is it relatable in some way? Active to today's times or the genre it's listed as?

Total: Out of 100
**Please give a constructive RESPECTFUL critique of the story so that the author can know how they're doing and if anything should be taken into consideration to change.
And when I say "respectful", I mean just that. Not those bullshit critiques that are unreasonably harsh or disrespectful and claim to be "honest".
