Chapter 8: The unexplored thoughts in my mind

woke up in a dark place, was it the borrow? I sat up, and there was Artemis. “Took you long enough, sleepy head.” Artemis said. “Am I in my mind again? What time is it?” I asked. “You just fell asleep in the real world, now you’re awake in your mind, and oh yeah, you never told me about a cat wandering around with you.” Artemis said. I looked at her with a furious glance. “I didn’t have time to tell you anything, Artemis.” I said to her. “Well, he looks hot.” Artemis said. I looked at her weirdly. “Since when did you start acting like a high school girl instead of a Greek goddess?” I said to her. “I don’t know, but while you were at your house, I saw your sister looking at hot boys saying that some looked like trash while some looked like they were hot. Her definition of hot is cute and…” Artemis said but I interrupted her. “Okay, I get the point, but why am I here?” I asked. “Ok, first of all, I wanted you here, and second of all, you wanted to see the rest of your mind, and what it’s filled of.” Artemis said. “You’re right, now that make me think of what I’m thinking of right now.” I said making an exaggeration of what this place portrayed of my mind. “Don’t make a fool of yourself, this really is your mind, how do you think I’m here. I died in 2-6 AD, or something like that.” Artemis said. “But I thought you were a goddess, an immortal goddess?” I asked. “I now rest in your heart, meaning your heart is filled of immortal fighting will.” Said Artemis. “You were… umm... and still might be a warrior, so why can’t you help?” I asked. “I’ve helped you before, you know, when the python disappeared.” Artemis said. “So that’s how you’re gonna help?” I asked. “Yes, you revived me, and I’m ready to fight again, but don’t EVER let them hit your heart. It will cause me to die, and then for you to suffer, then eventually die.” Said Artemis. I looked around as she went to the other side of my mind and I decided to look at some bits of my mind.

In one of the memories, I was riding on a roller coaster, and I was screaming my head off. In another was me in juvey about five years after me riding the roller coaster. I looked more, and more, but no signs of friendship. My mind was so depressing, because it was alone, and I bet Artemis knew that too. Then I see something familiar, a science lab. “Wait, wasn’t that the science lab that blew up not too long ago?” I asked myself, but Artemis overheard. “Yes, I saw your dad asleep on the couch and his phone dinged of more news from that explosion. Now I know that the creation and the creator are both alive. The Hollowed Man, and Zeta.” She said sounding dramatic at the end. I was thinking she learned what a drama queen was from my sister. “I need to look at this memory.” I said. “Go ahead, I ain’t stopping you.” Said Artemis. I peered into the fog that carried that memory, and I saw myself as a little boy.

“Daddy? Can I go see the potions, or the animals? Ooh! The generator daddy, can I see the generator?” I said as a little boy. “Okay, but be back to me at 5 ‘o clock, that means 10 minutes!!!” My younger dad said. My littler self ran into the science lab and looked at all the things inside. Animals, potions, generators, radiation suits, and a lot of wiring. Then, my littler self focused on a coffin-like box, and it had something in there that I couldn’t see. My littler self tried to get a boost and see what was inside.

That’s where the memory stopped, but kept going and I found my littler self in a hospital. Why was my littler self in the hospital? Just seconds before, I was in the lab. I pulled out of the memory, knowing something was very wrong. Something happened within that time frame, but it could’ve been anything. I could’ve fallen down, or swallowed a potion or something, but all I knew was that I had to find a piece of my missing memory.
