Chapter 7: What's A Rodeo?

A/n
I was at a rodeo at the time when I started this chapter and I was like: "Why not?" so it lead to this.

Your Pov.

I woke up early again. But this time, not from nightmares. But from my alarm clock. Wow. I actually slept until my alarm went off! I thought to myself as I shut off the alarm. I got out of bed and got dressed.

I went around the rooms to check on everyone else to see if they woke up yet. No one was awake. I made my way downstairs and outside to milk one of the cows. After I finished and poured the milk into the machine and took the ready milk back to the house, I started making breakfast. Bacon, eggs, sausage, and waffles. After I had finished cooking, I placed the plates of food on the table and set out plates for everyone. I had barely finished up when I heard shuffling behind me. I turned around to see the red masked hothead. "Morning hothead. Want breakfast?" I said smirking to myself.

"Gee thanks." he returned with sarcasm as he sat down. He loaded his plate with everything I made. "Milk or orange juice?" I asked. "Orange juice." he replied plainly. I poured him some orange juice in a glass and handed it to him. "Thanks." he grunted. "No problem." I replied. He started eating and then suddenly stopped. "What? Is the food bad?" I asked as I was about to taste some of my food to see if it was bad. "No it's not that, this stuff is great! You cook better than Mikey." he said wolfing down the waffles. I laughed. "Thanks. I'm guessing that Mikey's the cook of the family." I said as I sat down and started eating.

"Yeah, but he makes things with pizza. He once combined a milkshake and pizza together." Raph said made a gagging face. "That could not sound any less appetizing." I said. "And you know what he called it? A P-Shake." he added. I cringed. "I stand corrected." I said laughing.

"What up Dudette!" I heard across the room. I saw Mikey with (l/b/n) being held upside down from Mikey's shoulders. "Hi (Y/n)!" he giggled waving at me. I giggled as I grabbed him and held him upsidedown and tickled him. "Good morning stinker." I said plopping him on the couch. "Good morning." I heard Donnie yawn with April behind him. "Morning you two. Have any fun last night?" I teased. Both Donnie and April blushed redder than Raph's mask. Raph and I laughed our heads off. "I'm just kidding guys. Are Leo and Casey up yet?" I asked them. "Leo is getting up, but Casey is still sleeping." Donnie said. The evil gears in my head started turning. "How 'bout we give him a little wake up call?" I said grinning like the Joker.

The guys followed behind me as we quietly made our way to Casey's room. Mikey held a small coffee table while (l/b/n) held a pie tin filled with shaving cream. I myself held an airhorn in my hand. We slowly opened the door and saw Casey asleep on the bed on his back with his arm dangling from the bed. I grinned as I signaled Mikey to help me out the small table over Casey's head. I signaled the guys to get out of the room. Everyone stood back and watched as I shook up the air horn. I counted down with my fingers from three. As soon as I got to one, I blasted the airhorn in Casey's ear. He jolted up from the bed and smacked his head on the table. Hard.

Everyone was laughing at Casey's face. "RUN!" I shouted as I ran out of the room. But I actually his by the door and grabbed the shaving cream pie and waited for Casey to come running out to kill me. Right on que, Casey came running out. I quickly slapped the pie tin on his face yelling "SMACKCAM!!" as I did so. He fell back onto the floor from the force of the smack. We all went quiet for a bit until I heard him groan in pain. Then we all burst up laughing. Raph and I were on the floor dying as Donnie, April, Leo, and Mikey were leaning on the walls trying to catch their breath.

"D-dude! I got that on video!" Mikey said between fits of laughter. Casey got up and wiped off his face. "Hey Casey, you got a little something on your face there." I said pointing to his face, trying not to laugh. "Ha ha. Very funny." he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "That's what you get when you sleep in at my house." I said giggling. "By the way, breakfast is ready." I said going back to the kitchen. I heard a stampede of turtle feet head to the dinning room. I smirked as I watched the boys immediately load their plates with food. I mainly focused on April and Donnie though. I watched as they both went for a waffle at the same time, making their hands overlap each other. April's hand over Donnie's. I saw them look at each other and blush before looking away again. I smirked as I saw this. Yep. They totally dig each other. Then I saw Casey glaring daggers at Donnie. Ooooh! Is this a love triangle I smell? I'm betting on Donnie though.

"Hello? (Y/n)?" someone said waving a green hand in front of my face. "Huh? What?" I said snapping from my thoughts. I looked to my right to see Leo next to me. "Oh hey! Sorry. Got lost in thought." I said smiling. "What were you thinking about?" Leo asked. "Donnie and April. It's so obvious that they have a thing for each other!" I whispered. Leo rolled his eyes at me. "So, what were you saying when I dozed off?" I asked. "Oh, right. Um, what are all these things?" he asked as he pointed to the Grandpa's trophy case by the TV. "Oh. Those are my Grandpa's rodeo trophies and prizes. Some of them in there are mine and (l/b/n)'s. Like the barrel run and calf roping are mine and calf and sheep riding are (l/b/n)'s. When we would stay here for the summers, grandpa would always sign is up to be in a rodeo that was nearby." I said remembering those good times.

"That's pretty cool Dudette. But what's a rodeo?" Mikey said next to me, making me jump and cling to Leo's arm. Leo and I looked at each other and blushed before I let go of his very muscular arm. What the duce?! Snap out of it! "Dude! Don't sneak up on me like that! I could have smacked you!" I said to Mikey. "Sorry, I overheard your guys' conversation and all that stuff sounded pretty cool. So what's a rodeo?" he asked again.

"You guys really don't know what a rodeo is?" I asked all of them. "You gotta remember, we're giant mutant turtles. We don't get out that much unless we're on patrol or somethin'." Raph said leaning against the counter. "What about you two?" I asked April and Casey. "I've heard about them, but never been to one of them." April shrugged. "Hockey games are what I do." Casey said crossing his arms. "Oh no. This is terrible. You know what this means bud?" I asked my little brother. He smiled a toothy grin. "Rodeo?" he asked. I nodded. "Rodeo."

~~~~~3rd person Pov.~~~~~~
After breakfast, you and your brother got the things that we needed for a mini rodeo. Things like rope, barrels, calves, and cowboy hats. "What do we need these for again?" Raph asked as he held the hat, looking at it weirdly. "Just put it on. It's fun! It's what cowboys wear at rodeos." (l/b/n) said grabbing the hat and putting it on Raph's head. "I feel so stupid." he said. "You think you feel stupid, try being stuck as the rodeo clown." Casey said from behind the rest of the guys. When they turned around, everyone burst into laughter. Casey stood there wearing a pair oversized overalls with handkerchiefs in different colors and a giant cowboy hat with his face painted like a clown.
"Wh-why are you dressed like that?!" Leo asked barely breathing. "Because all rodeos need a rodeo clown, and Casey is the perfect guy for the job." you said from behind him. Leo turned around to see you in your rodeo outfit. (picture below)
Leo was completely awestruck by your beauty. He stood there staring at you with a gaping mouth. "Close your mouth Leo. You'll catch flies that way." you giggled as you closed his mouth with your hand. He shook his head a little before speaking. "Wow (Y/n), you look.... Great." Leo complemented while blushing a light shade of pink. You blush a little at the complement. "Alright. Lets get this show on the road!" you shouted heading to one end of the corral with (l/b/n) beside you. Your brother had BEGGED to go first, so you let him. Lucky you guys had some calves roaming around the big field, so you caught the strongest one for the small boy to ride.
"Ladies and Turtlemen! Starting out our miniature version of a rodeo, is the boy wonder! Holding the record time of 7.5 seconds on a wild calf, I present to you, the Amazing (l/b/n)!" you shouted as you opened the gate to let your little brother on the calf out of the small cage and into the corral. The calf bolted from the cage and ran like mad, trying to get the small boy off his back. As you cheered him on, you also timed the ride. The turtles enjoyed watching your little brother, Mikey cheered the loudest.
When the small boy finally fell off, you stopped your stopwatch and ran to your little brother and helped him up. "Congratulations (l/b/n), you have broken your record of 7.5 seconds on a calf. Your new record is 9.8 seconds!" you shouted holding up his arm. The guys cheered and waved their hats as (l/b/n) did a little victory dance. You giggled as your little brother skipped away to the guys who high fived him and told him good job.
Raph and Casey helped place the barrels for the next event. "And now, holding the record of 1 minute and 45 seconds in the barrel run, the Astounding (Y/n) and her horse (h/n)!" (l/b/n) announced as you waved to the boys and April. When your brother waved his little hat, you darted off. You and your horse ran and circled each barrel quickly before racing back to the start. Donnie helped (l/b/n) announced your time, which was 1 minute and 30 seconds.
The boys enjoyed watching all the little events you guys could do, leaving out the bull riding and bucking horse riding. It's best to leave that stuff to the professionals. The stuff you didn't do, you showed them old tapes of your grandfather doing those events. You never really needed a rodeo clown for your small demonstration, but you just wanted to dress Casey up as one. Lets just say that when the whole invasion blows over, the picture you took of him will be all over the internet.
After you guys were done and tired from the rodeo, you guys talked about your lives. You learned a little more about their family and they knew a little more about yours.
Hey shellheads. Sorry about the chapter. It was all I got. The next chapter will have the whole Bigfoot thing and all that. I just wanted to put something in the story to make it a little more fun for me to write. I personally love rodeos. My dad used to ride bucking horses until he got his head stepped on by one. He was fine. All he has is a small scar on his forehead. Well, see ya next chapter. Bye bye
