It was a normal day in equestria, it was spring. Princess celestia Just sent her student, twilight sparkle to ponyville to get some friends. Twilight and her pet/friend, spike finally moved into their little home

"Well, here it is!" Twilight said, excited. Spike looked around the home "It sure is nice, with all the books, you can still focus on your studies, even though the princess said you should make some friends" he stated, looking at twilight. Twilight looked at spike and slightly laughed "why would i need friends?" twilight asked him, opening a book with her unicorn magic. "Why need friends  when i have all the books i could ever read to continue my studies?" she asked spike again. spike slightly shrugged "well the princess told us that you should make some friends, thats why she sent you down here, remember?" spike said. Twilight closed the book and sat it down. "i have everything i need here spike! my studies, you, this home" twilight said.

Spike sighed, he knew he couldn't convince twilight to leave the home, to go out and explore ponyville, to make friends, he knew she could sit in here, all year long, to read her studies, like she did back in equestira with celestia. he just sat on the floor, He watched twilight look through all the books the library had, twilight was smiling looking at all the wonderful books her home had, different books about history, science, spells she already knew about, potions, ect.  

One book stood out to twilight, it had a black hard cover, with "DO NOT READ" in a green font, it was kind of spooky if you asked twilight at the time. Twilight grabbed the book with her magic and stared at the cover. spike looked at her and the book "hey twi...maybe you shouldn't read that one..i have a bad feeling about it" spike told her. twilight looked at spike "whats so wrong about it?" she asked. she opened the book, she began to read it. she sat the book down and began to learn the spell that was in the book, As she did the spell, her horn magic turned from pink to red to green. spike stood back from twilight, looking terrified, he was scared that something was going to happen to twilight. twilights glew a bright green, her horn shot a green beam, it hit her wall then right back at her in the eye, "ah!" she shouted in pain, closing her eye

spike stood up "twi! you okay!?" he asked, twilight looked back at her, opening her eye "is it..okay?" she asked, her eye was completely damaged, only her pupil remaining. "well...it could be worse" spike replied. she quickly grabbed a mirror as she looked at herself, the tip of her horn was a dark gray, she began to worry
